DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

Probably just because a bunch of people are all trading them in at the same time. There not completly stupid. If they see 10 Mark Echos in a week getting traded in, they WILL stop taking them in at some point. Have you called other GRs?

Mine thought I was asking about the PS3. I just hung up.

I assume all GRs will have around 5 then (As most had the same amount of 360's, regardless of pre-orders).

Now if only it didn't take 2 hours to have them ring me up.....

Put a question mark on the DBZ Budokai 2, as I'm fairly sure it must be 3 as well. 2 only gives you $1 at EB/GS, I find it hard to believe it would be $15.50 at GR.
 
Altered Beast (PS2) trades for $19? That's pretty good. Now if only that game actually existed I'd be able to build some serious credit. :)

Got Castlevania HOD at Gamerush for $15 yesterday in Orlando. There's like a Gamerush on like every street corner there (there was 3 in a 5 mile streetch on Alafia Trail). I left an Aria of Sorrow ($25).

Interesting, though, I wonder if it actually scans in the system? You'd think they would take it if they can look it up by name at least. So if you can score some cheap import copies you might be able to give it a shot ;). Well, we might as well keep it in the wiki as it is supposedly in the GR system. If no one has it to trade, no harm done.

Yep, I saw them today at the Orange City, FL Gamerush. They only had 5, and 2 were spoken for. The other 3 seemed to be up for grabs.

Strangely, they were not publicizing the fact that they had them - you had to ask at the counter to even know that they had any.
 
Stiill no sign or even word GR will be getting any DS Lites in at 2 local north atlanta stores. I ask one employee who usually knows all about the games and he says he is tearing his hair out trying to get a answer. Decided to grab one at CC with the free game rather then wait to use the GR credit...
 
If anyone is interested, I was able to pick up a ds lite today in southern california. The lady working at the counter said they got it in on Sunday, and I believe they initially only had 2 in stock, with me purchasing the last one.

Same at mine. There was never any trade-in glitch that we knew about, anyway :D. Must be used rentals, though I've never noticed a glut like that of any other title.
 
If i remember correctly BB/GR somehow had A LOT of Gun for rental (someone raised that ? awhile ago)..... so that's probably why..

no DSlite at my store (although the cashier probably don't even know what it is) I pick up mine at Target, can I (hope) that GR will have it within the next 90 days? Would I be able to return that to Target then (different serial number???) :)

^^^^ Thanks ;). I didn't mean to imply that we were god-like, just that Shipwreck would have to be if he was the one responsible for making Botticus and I update the wiki. But then he is an all-powerful mod, so he's close. :D

OK, I've got a new reason to be pissed at GR, but I won't know for sure until tomorrow.

I bought a new copy of Shrek Super Party for GC when I was in Atlanta a few weeks back at one of the North Atlanta area GR's (Sugar Hill to be exact). Well, I guess I wasn't paying much attention except that I did notice it had the "melted" looking shrink wrap. On GC games, though, especially older ones like that, it is fairly common. However, I just noticed today that the case seems awfully light and there is no tell-tall disc rattle. I think the damn thing is empty! I am going to go to my local Blockbuster tomorrow and ask if I can open it in front of them and then return it (for the credit) if it is empty. I just KNOW that is going to be a hassle though. I just don't have time to get to GR in the next few days. They might be a little more helpful there though... Grrrr... I don't have time for this crap.
 
Quake 4 gets $32 still....hmmm, I can see a price drop on that in the near future....but I could be wrong.

I may stop today...have my free rentals to use. Maybe I'll see if they have a DS Lite, but I don't really want one (even with my $430+ credit)
 
Just some updates:

1. My main GR has 4 DS Lites on order now (previously had zero), but they haven't received them yet.

2. Another confirmation of the extra $5 trade-in deal. It is apparently starting either 6/20 or 6/27 and will be good on any games that GR sells used for $6.99 or more. Still somewhat of a rumor as I haven't seen it in print in a map yet, but it should be in there soon.

3. No really good pricedrops on games this week. The only new pricedrop is new copies of Soul Calibur III (PS2) are $39.99. The used pricedrops were not worth remembering.

4. I command io and botticus to do my bidding.

...where do you people pull these totally random dates from?? u say its a rumor and you havnt seen anything printed about it, but yet u are able to narrow it down onto two mondays? just like the many before that were sure it would start may 21 or may 28 or june 4. maybe if i take 2 more ballpark guesses we'll have a better chance at getting it right and pretending we have inside information. i heard that gamerush trade in 3 get 5 is being delayed until july 4 or july 11

I doubt you will be able to do that. Your serial number is on the receipt..and the workers are told to check it.

You will learn to trust Shipwreck more than you trust a meteorologist for weather or a mechanic for car diagnosis. He does us all a service, Americanpierg, and you'd be wise to avoid dissing the guy.
 
Okay, just got the phone call and picked up my DS Lite. Holy crap are these things nice. I had never seen one in person before I removed mine from the box and I'm very impressed.

I also saw a Drill Dozer (new) marked at $19.99 when I was there. Not sure if this is the actually price or if it was mispriced. That's a great buy if that's the real price.

Oh, and the manager said he got an email about the trade-in deal, but hadn't gotten a chance to read it to find out anymore details. If no one gets the dirt on that email, I'll get the info tomorrow.

ANYWAY, back to my "too light" sealed game. I went into the local BB, and lo and behold, the fucking game was empty. She insisted that it was in a Blockbuster display box, because it has the hole for the yellow lock strip they use (despite the fact that it was clearly a Gamecube game case). I tried to explain to her that all GC games are like that, and many are sealed with the non-folded shrink wrap as well. Not that it matters - the other store sold me an empty game as a new sealed one in any case. She wasn't too happy about taking a return from another store and said they don't usually do that. But she did give me the money on my gift card, so it worked out (though she didn't credit the sale tax, so fucking Georgia is getting my tax money for NOTHING, the bastards).

She even called the original store and she said they didn't care one bit! So, any Atlanta area people - the Sugar Hill store is suspect - don't trust their new game sales!

Keep in mind though, smited one, that the deal might only be an extra $5 TOTAL for 3 games. It might not be worth waiting - you could see price drops on 360 games in the mean time that take away that $5 (over 3 games). I'm more concerned with that detail than with when it actually starts (as long as it starts some time!).
 
I just picked up my DS Lite, so Tampa Bay GRs should have them now. I got mine at the 34th St. S. location in St. Pete.

Oops, forgot to mention that earlier. Manager said that it is extra $5 per title. I asked him twice just to make sure. Again, I haven't seen it in writing yet (hopefully tomorrow), but that's what I have heard.

:whistle2:k... Had I known that (and the $6.99 sale minimum instead of $10 trade-in minimum that we heard earlier) I might have saved a few games from the EB deal. Oh well, I'm sure I can find more. I have one set of 3 anyway, but they are on the low end. Hopefully my local GR won't pull some new restriction out of thin air (or from a misunderstanding of the real restrictions like they did before). I could see them thinking they must TRADE for $6.99 or more.

At least at EB you have a selection though... while this seems like a good deal (and it is) I have to take into account that GR's selection is abysmal.

Well, yes, that is the trade-off. And I'm satisfied with MOST of the EB trades. Maybe there are 3 games I would have held back. But I looked through my games and I can scrounge up at least 6 to bring to GR (though some will come close to the $6.99 limit), so that's enough for now. I wish they were as consistent about the trade-in/used pricing as they used to be. They are more like EB now in that you can't really tell the sale price from the trade-in prices any more.

The best would have been if the two deals were concurrent along with a Buy 2 Get 1 free on used games at GR. Then I could get GR credit with the $5 extra deal, spend it on used games, then trade those to EB to magnify the credit :D. But maybe EB will have another deal by then.

It is good that GR is doing something to bring used games into the store though. Their selection was getting more and more pathetic each month. The ones I'll be bringing in with this deal will be much more varied than the ones we've been trading recently (the Red Ninjas and so forth).
