DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.
Mortal Kombat Deception $5

Just noticed that that was on the clearance list, how come it came up as 19.99 in store? Are some items taken off the clearance lists now?
What, you don't read this thread? We went through all that yesterday!
Anyone know what Ys trades in for at EB? I've got 2 sealed copies...trying to decide whether to trade them in or hold onto them as trade bait for here and GameTZ.
Ys gets $9 before bonuses at EB.

I finished up the last of my pending GR->EB credit transfers today. Even if the deal is extended, I might have to slow down a bit (one of my kids has earned himself an extended punishment that includes no game store visits). I have at least one more GR visit to take care of on a lunch - two if I can find something else to pair up with Total Overdose. I scoured the local stores today and found exactly one EB->GR title (Dinotopia for GC). Wish I had been aware of KOTOR, though. #-o

Anyway, I've converted $475ish in GR credit into $770ish in EB credit. And I still have about $275 left on my GR value cards.

I need to start buying things!
My BB had only $5 games, suprisingly most were non-sports. I'm waiting to find out if the EB/GS deal ends at the end of the day tomorrow, or it ended already before i move some credit.
Which one?

The only game I've found for $5 was mortal kombat.

I did find some MK controllers at the BB at Dale Mabry and Van Dyke. Seems like all the GRs in the Tampa area have been picked clean.

Through the magical CC-Rhino-GR three-hit combo (soon to be four, when transferring to EB/GS credit), I managed to turn less than $9 into $51.75. How? Two copies of Total Overdose from CC, and some lucky pick-ups from Rhino. Total Overdose is worth $14 at Rhino, and each of the clearance games was $4.50 each.

I took the three clearance games plus another Total Overdose to GR and got:
PS2 Total Overdose $9.50
XBX FSW Ten Hammers $12
XBX Unreal II The Awakening $4.25
XBX Rainbow Six Critical Hour $6

And +$5 each.

I recycled some GS money to buy some games and brought them to another GR.
PS2 Total Overdose $9.50
XBX Dinotopia $2.50 (XBX version $4.99 at GS)
PS2 G1 Jockey 3 $19

And +$5 on each. Sure, no dramatic money-multiplication with these, but still more than I "paid."

I farmed the second GR (still enough stuff left for another hit) and will take those to GS tomorrow before class/work. To contribute to the Mortal Kombat Deception debate, I snagged a Gamecube copy for $5.
Went back to a previous store and got Lumines for PSP new for 9 Bucks and Official SOny PS2 remote kits new for $3.75
My local Kmart(Moosic,PA) had those PS2 remote kits for $3 on the shelf not too long ago. Keyword HAD though, as when I checked last night, there were none left.
PS2 G1 Jockey 3 $19
This game actually existed in an Orlando area store? I've been looking all over for it. Nice job!

Anyone know what Zathura for Xbox or PS2 trades for? They had both Zathura and Stolen on sale for $4.98 at TRU, but I just want to make sure it is worth it. I need something to go with my extra Total Overdoses.

Stolen (Xbox) is listed in the Wiki at $1 as of 7/14.

Zathura isn't listed....probably wouldn't be too far from the $1 mark either.
Have anyone seen in store or know if GR will be stocking Valkyrie Profile and Blade Dancer for the PSP ?
Several people have reported finding a copy of VP: L at their GR. Not sure about BD, though.
Have anyone seen in store or know if GR will be stocking Valkyrie Profile and Blade Dancer for the PSP ?
Picked up VP: L at the local GR on Saturday.
Picked up VP: L at the local GR on Saturday.
Yeah, VPL came in for sure (last Friday for me). I haven't seen Blade Dancer at ANY store - not EB, not CC, not Target, not Best Buy - nowhere. Strange. I cancelled my EB preorder for it (actually switched it to VPL) because it had gotten some bad reviews. But looking on metacritic now, it has a WIDE range of scores - from horrible to pretty good. I'll pick it up when it gets cheaper (assuming it doesn't become rare!). I've got too many other games to play to make it worth burning $40, even in GR or EB credit, on that one. I have been playing VPL the last few nights - very confusing game. I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing or not, but I'm trying to play it without a FAQ .

I transferred a few more GR/BB games to EB today just in case my local EB's don't have their act together for the alleged extension of the deal. Converted 2 x DBZ, 2 x NFSU Xbox, SC II Xbox, and 2 Justice League GC controllers (costing a total of $26.50 in GR credit) into $31.50 in EB credit. Not the best ratio, but as long as it increases, I'm happy.

WARNING!!!

It looks like the EB/GS deal is, indeed, ending today. Our insider at GS said the marketing change to extend the deal was incorrect and they are ending the deal as planned today. So don't buy any GR games you don't mind being stuck with .

And if you have some to get rid of at EB, get out there NOW (it still before 7pm on West Coast anyway!). I have a couple, but only enough for one group of 3 - and it's not worth it to drive 15 miles (each way) to trade those just to get about $20 in EB credit.

As a consolation for missing out on trading my last games in to EB, I'll trade them at GR and just snag another Mortal Kombat: Kollector's Edition for $5 and trade it in at EB for $11 without any bonuses. :D

What, did they have a case of those at your GR??

The problem is that 2 of the 3 games I have left are GR clearance games, even though I got them at Kmart and not GR - so they are worthless as trade-ins there. The 3rd is Duel Masters (free from Best Buy) which someone reported as not qualifying for the bonus either... I guess I can tile my office with Duel Masters (I have 3 now)

 Yeah, my Ping Pals is in the same boat. I'll just keep it around till another promo shows up. But yeah, the one GR here had a ton of MKs, since I've picked up two or three, and I'm pretty sure MightySlacker snagged at lesat one. Last I was there I believe they had one more back in the cabinets, I might go check it out later this week while car shopping.

Any of these types of games stay around forever because if it's not on the shelf, it's not visible and won't sell. That's how I got WarioWare Twisted as well.

With the way I was buying games at GR's and just throwing in my trunk I won't be surprised if I find a few GR clearance games laying around over the next month. Any word on how long the $5 bonus is going to last at GR. I plan on cleaning up the tradelist with a few before it ends. As for games that don't qualify I give them a shot. It seems at least for my I found half the GR employees ignore the must sale for $7.99 used. They alwasy go ahead and give the bonus as long as it doesn't push the game of the used sale price. I was able to get the bonus on some $.50 games even.
I have been playing VPL the last few nights - very confusing game. I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing or not, but I'm trying to play it without a FAQ .
That's the beauty of the game! ;) You sort of can do as you please with the units of time in the game. To get the best ending, though, you will really want to read a FAQ. I just wonder how the hell people did all of that on their own!

Did the PSOne ever get a price drop at Blockbuster? I found a store that has 4 of them, new in box, but they were marked $49.99 each.
WARNING!!!

Hmm...posted at 9:36 eastern time and my Gamestop closes at 9 pm. Ah well, I had about 15 games to take over there that I got today...felt a little lazy after driving around town all day though. Luckily, it's all stuff that sells on Ebay for more than what Gamestop gives in trade for it...just means I'll have to do more legwork to get my money out of it.

Well, I was just trying to help out some West Coast people who might read this thread but not the EB/GS one. Pezradar (the insider) posted this info at 8:54 PM Eastern on that thread, so it wouldn't have helped you anyway. Be mad at him - he's the one that assured us a few days ago that it would continue . Hopefully my cross post alerted a few GR CAG's to get out and trade their last xfer games in.

Well, took my games to trade-in at GameRush this afternoon. Ended up getting the $5 bonus on all of them, coming out to a total of $80 :). So, without further ado, here are the trade-in prices, before the $5 bonus, of course:
Army Men Sarge's Heroes 2 - $6
Champions of Norrath - $7
Crazy Taxi - $1.25
Disaster Report - $2.50
Ico - $6
Killer 7 - .50
Mega Man X7 - $1.25
Secret Weapons Over Normandy - $1
Silent Line: Armored Core - $1
Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven - $1

R.I.P. EB trade-in deal. Now I will go back to conserving my EB credit and trying to spend my GR credit whenever I can instead. Though the difference now is instead of just $100-$200 in EB credit (that I was saving from last year) I have MUCH more . And thanks to the CC games, my GR credit didn't really change much in the process.

I went to Blockbuster (no Gamerush/Blockbuster) and couldn't find the 512MB or 1GB Duo Sticks for the PSP. Will I have to find a Gamerush one to get them or has anyone come across a regular Blockbuster that had them?
I went to Blockbuster (no Gamerush/Blockbuster) and couldn't find the 512MB or 1GB Duo Sticks for the PSP. Will I have to find a Gamerush one to get them or has anyone come across a regular Blockbuster that had them?
As far as I know only gamerush had memory sticks for sale. I only see 128MB since it hit 50% months back. A few people might have snag them when they hit 75%, but if you find one now you just lucked out. Some of the items on the first page are great prices, but you aren't going to find them. I couldn't find a BG Dark alliance to use my credit on before the sale started...

I traded in Disney's Treasure Planet for PS2. It was worth $7.50 with bonus. Also, Flow and Gretzky 05 are still holding at their stated values.
Stolen (Xbox) is listed in the Wiki at $1 as of 7/14.

Zathura isn't listed....probably wouldn't be too far from the $1 mark either.
Stolen might not qualify for the $5 bonus since it's a GR clearance game. I paid $2.50 for my copy.
It's not that hard to find them if you know where to look. Try all the Gamerushes you can find and look in the glass cases behind the Gamerush counter. Also, ask the cashier as one Gamerush I went to actually kept all their PSP memory sticks in the back room for some reason.

A lot of employees didn't reprice the Pro Duos because they either missed them on the list or because they didn't notice them sitting in the case. I've been to several stores that still had the $50-100 price tags on the sticks, so only CAGs would even know they're on clearance.

I went to 4 stores I'd never been to before about 40 minutes from my house yestderday. One of the stores was a normal Blockbuster and all their clearance games were marked properly sto they didn't have any left. They did have 4 new boxed PSOne systems for $49.99 each though, which was weird. I wonder if those will ever get clearanced or if they already were.

Anyway, one of the other stores had a handful of clearance games marked and the other two had NONE of the games marked so I had to go by memory. I found a lot of stuff at these 3 stores:

2 MC Groovz Dance bundles for $8.75 each
1 PSP 1 gig Pro Duo stick for $15 (passed on a bunch of 512 sticks...$7.50 each, I believe)
2 copies of Psychonauts for PS2
1 copy of Baten Kaitos for $7.50
1 copy of Ys: The Ark for $10
1 copy of Leisure Suit Larry for $5
2 copies of Silent Hill 4 for PS2 for $5 each
2 copies of Killer 7 GC for $3.75 each
2 sealed Gameboy SP Action Replays for $2.50 each (rare version that goes for around $30 on Ebay)

And a nice stack of $1.25-$2.50 games that I was going to use to trade into EB/GS.

Not part of the new game clearance, but I also found 2 mint, complete copies of Boktai 2 GBA for $3.99 each. Pretty good price if your GR has it in stock. Also grabbed a Castlevania Circle Of The Moon GBA for $9.99 that I thought was complete but turned out to be missing the manual. Most of the used GBA games are dirt cheap now...looks like they are clearing them out to make room for DS games.

I wiped out the rest of my GR credit and even spent about $10 cash. I figured all the stores within an hour of me would have been wiped out by now, but it really helps when the employees don't mark the clearance games. I think that makes about 20 Gamerush/Blockbuster stores that I've visited for this sale. I traded a bunch here and flipped a few hundreds dollars worth of games to EB/GS.
could someone update the first page with this. All are final prices with 75% off.

eyetoy for $10
Kinetic Eye Toy for $11.50
Antigrav for $10
I paid $12.50 for Eyetoy Kinetic w/eyetoy. I've seen people report prices from $10.00 to $15.00, I think it may just be that some stores are marking them wrong and then price adjusting them when you check out. I went to one store that had a bunch of their games marked at two different prices. Example: Catwoman for $1.25 and Catwoman for $2.50. I grabbed the copy marked $1.25, of course (to trade in to GS/EB).

I can't wait til this thread hits 100 pages!! I'm just sitting at work waiting for it to happen while I talk with my coworkers about Korean BBQ and anticipate my frappacino being delivered. Yeah, life is rough....

Trade quote from tonight: PS2 Ghost Recon 2 is $6.

I just bought it for $4.98 at Target. I had some GBA games with me but only 1 of the 3 qualified for the bonus. I'll have to scrape some other stuff together to see if it is worth trading the Ghost Recon 2.

I should have checked Frogger Temple of the Frog GBA because my Target had a pile for $3.74.

I got my trade-in fix by trading at Gamecrazy for the first time in a while. Dumped my Duel Masters GBA game from GR there for $5.06 (wierd price). I have no idea what I'm going to do with my Gamecrazy credit - I only go there once every few months. They are more likely to drop prices on things like Metal Saga and Steambot Chronicles (as opposed to EB, and of course GR never gets games like those). I guess I can wait for those drops.

Edit - Damn, didn't push it to 100 pages :D. Oh well, who's next?

So, I've gotten in the habit of just letting my trade credit sit on my account recently. When I added up that and my value cards I noticed a discrepancy. I went back through my recent receipts and noticed a $15 drop in my account credit in between 2 receipts - thus during a time when I hadn't even been in the store. The last receipt before the drop I had done a $5 bonus trade which included 3 GBA games. I didn't even ask about them, the cashier just bumped everything up automatically. Now, I know we've heard that managers can mess with credit - but is it actually possible that he reviewed the trade and took away the $15? That sucks big time because I wouldn't have traded the games if they weren't going to qualify as I only got a few $ for each one.

I'm going to have to go in there and ask someone to look at my account during that period. Of course, I hate drawing any extra attention to my account, but that kind of pisses me off. Of course, I've been in several times since and no one has said anything to me about it. No notice, no phone call, nothing. :bomb:

Anyone know the current trade-in value of Project Gotham Racing 3 for 360? The wiki says $28.50 but surely it's not that high now. I was thinking it might only be $15 or so.

Yeah, my store has no GIG sticks, it would be nice, but I remember them putting them out, so nothing in the back...I think.

ALSO, GameRush now has "official" call-back lists for the PS3 and Wii. I put my name down for the PS3. I'm hoping they go the same course as the 360, so I can make some cash. I have $450+ credit, so it would be the easiest way to convert my credit to cash and not lose anything....hopefully make a few dollars ;)

I work at home, around 3 hours a day. My life is hard too. :)

Nevermind. I checked the trade-in value for PRG3 and it's still getting $25, which is surprising. Can the wiki be updated?

I can't believe how slow Blockbuster is at updating their retail prices, however. It's been about two weeks since Atari announced that Test Drive Unlimited would be $39.99. It's still $59.99 in BB's system.

Flatout 2 is retailing for $39.99 and it's still $49.99 in their system.
Lego Star Wars II for 360 is retailing for $49.99 and it's still $59.99 in the BB/GR system.

I hope they don't keep the higher prices on all three of these games (that I planned on getting with BB credit).

Whoa....$25 still for PGR3. Nice. I may have to trade it in, I barely play it anymore. What does NHL 2K6 and NBA 2K6 get (360)? I may upgrade when 2K7 comes out....so, no need for these.
I cannot access the wiki at work.
Anyone know the trade-in value of X360 Lord of the Rings Battle For MiddleEarth 2?
The wiki says it's $35...so it's either still at that price, or around $30. I would think it's still the former, though.

I wish my GR even had the 1 gig sticks. All our local store had were the 128 and 256 sticks. I still thought it was funny that a couple people went in and bought a used stick without even asking how much the new stick would be...they paid about three times as much as they would have buying a new stick.

Checked today and the manager did remove $15 of credit from my account for the 3 GBA games. That pisses me off to no end - I brought a stack of games in, got a quote, agreed to it, and signed the paper. I never demanded a $5 bonus for the GBA games or even mentioned it - it was just given with all the rest. Granted, I didn't ask the clerk and then point out her mistake, but that's not my job. I'll have to decide if I want to confront the manager tomorrow about it. At the very least I'd like the games back since I wouldn't have traded them for so little. If he pulls the "all trades are final" crap, then he's a hypocrite for taking away credit after the fact!

Yeah, that's bullshit. The whole point of the trade slip is to authorize the transaction as stated. The DM is only a phone call away.

And regarding the high prices they have on games, they usually reduce the price when it's released. But if you preorder, you will not be credited the difference. So just wait they get the game in and check on the price then.
