Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.
is the call list the same as a preorder list?
No the call list is not the same as the pre-order list. Just like with the 360 once they get the OK that they can start to pre-order the system they will call you and let you know. If you want to pre-order at that point you have to come in a place a deposit. You can pass at that point if you don't want to pre-order. I thnk they are doing this because they don't have a SKU or a number of PS3s that they are going to get.

Yeah, I'm on the call-list for the PS3. They got these a while ago now. I'm hoping Sony has the same fiasco as MS with the 360. Profit to be made :)

Well, I wish we would get some new deals soon...oh well.
Anybody get Dead Rising at GR today?
Rented it last night...store also had copies behind the glass case.

Traded some stuff in towards a copy of Dead Rising at the National Ave. Los Angeles store. They had about 5 copies behind the counter, if anyone is interested.

By the way -- to Shipwreck especially -- the extra $5/game for 3+ trades is still alive and well here. I mentioned it when I called (hadn't checked the front page of this thread), and they confirmed it, then was sure to get it when I went in minutes later. Sounds like it's YMMV?

Anyway, on to the values (not counting $5 bonus):
The Rub Rabbits DS - $8
Rampage Total Destruction PS2 - $6
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Xbox - $6 (thought it'd be more)

Yeah, but you go to those damn SoCal stores - didn't they run the 25% bonus trade-in promo WAY past it's end date last year? Definite YMMV on that. I haven't actually checked my GR lately to see if they still have the promo or not but I will when I go in there to do some DS preorders. But even if they SAY they have it, I'm not going to trade because the manager would probably realize after the fact that the promo was supposed to end and take the extra credit back :bomb:.

Not sure about that, but they even had a big sign behind the (never-staffed) Game Rush counter saying "Trade in 3 games, get an extra $5 per game." I didn't look close enough to notice an expiration date.
Rented it last night...store also had copies behind the glass case.
Got mine too. No indication whatsoever in the store that they actually had it of course, had to ask for it.

Ha, I was just in GR and completely forgot to check on the deal. Oh well...

Good news otherwise:

Botticus (and whoever else here who cares about DS games), I think I have discovered an unadvertized special. It appears that EVERY DS game is $5 less than MSRP if you preorder it. I know that I asked about Starfox Command a few weeks ago when I preordered it and only put $5 down because it was $34.99. Now, as Botticus discovered the other day, it is $29.99.

Other $29.99 games; Mario Hoops (as Botticus also noted), Yoshi's Island 2, Magical Starsign, Contact, Children of Mana
Just one $34.99 game: Castlevania Portrait of Ruin

Note that IN EVERY CASE, these games are $5 more at EB/GS. GR does not have Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles DS, Chibi-Robo DS, or Phantom Hourglass in the system yet.

I preordered several of the $29.99 DS games (taking care of the credit I had sitting on my account ). I will now have to cancel a few EB preorders in some creative way...

The reason I think this is a special deal is when the guy looked up the Castlevania price he said the MSRP was $39.99 but they were offering it $34.99. So they are aware of the "true" MSRP, but are offering it for less.

The one exception to this appears to be Final Fantasy III which I believe Botticus said was $34.99. Though someone might want to check on that again - it may have been adjusted since then.

I would preorder these and pay in full to lock in these prices. I should have checked some of the $29.99 games to see if they came up $24.99 (like Lunar Knights). Also, it would be interesting to see what they have Cooking Mama for (they probably don't).

Also, it would be interesting to see if the same applies to PSP or any of the console games. If that is the case, I'll have lots of cancellation/re-preorders to do .

In my excitement I forgot to check on additional Wii games. The first thing I'll check when I go back is if they still have Loco Roco at $39.99 or if it dropped to $34.99, then I'll check on the $29.99 DS games to see what they are at. Though it would be a great help if someone else could check those this weekend because I probably can't get back there in the next few days.
Can anybody find Manhunt? I really want it but neither of my Blockbuster's have it... :(
i saw a brand new copy of manhunt at my blockbuster in the tustin marketplace in CA. it was like 5 bucks or something. no more than 10. I bought that game a while back, its not that great. it kinda really blows

Yay for SoCal GR's!! bonus is still active at my local store. Now, if they'd just start a "call list" for preorders of the new consoles, my GR experience would be complete!

Just to summarize the DS preorder situation (in order of release date):

GAME ----------------- Release Date ----- EB/GS Price ----- GR price
Star Fox Command - Aug 28 ------------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Mario Hoops --------- Sept. 11 ----------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Contact --------------- Sept. 19 ----------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
FFCC Ring of Fates - Oct. 1 -------------- $34.99 ----------- N/A
Magical Starsign ---- Oct. 23 ------------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Children of Mana --- Oct. 30 ------------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Final Fantasy III ---- Nov. 1 -------------- $39.99 ----------- $34.99
Yoshi's Island 2 ----- Nov 13 -------------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Castlevania PoR ---- Nov. 21 ------------- $39.99 ----------- $34.99
Chibi Robo DS ------- Dec. 1 --------------- $34.99 ----------- N/A
LoZ Phantom HG ---- Mar. 1, '07 --------- $39.99 ----------- N/A

So if you are interested in any of these games I would preorder them in full at GR with the following warnings:

* Contact is an Atlus title that GR is unlikely to get.
* GR has been pretty crappy about getting ANY DS titles in, so YMMV on any others as well (though the Nintendo and Squeenix ones are more likely than the others - we'll get a good test of that with Star Fox Command in a few weeks). Damn them for having this $5 discount otherwise I'd just preorder them at EB and not worry about it! But that $5 will add up if I get all of the games on the list :D.

Games for other CAG's to check: Cooking Mama ($19.99 at EB), Lunar Knights ($29.99 at EB), Lego Star Wars II ($34.99 at EB), Harvest Moon ($29.99 at EB), Mage Knight ($29.99 at EB), Mario vs Donkey Kong 2 ($34.99 at EB), Dragon Quest Heroes ($34.99 at EB), Star Trek Tactical Assault ($39.99 at EB), Meteos Disney ($29.99 at EB),

Note that Final Fantasy III is NOT an exception as I thought before - it is, indeed, listed at $39.99 at EB. So the $34.99 price is consistent with $5 off on all DS preorders promo. I had only put down $5 on that at GR - looks like I'll have to pay that one in full as well.

I will probably keep my Contact preorder at EB because of the small chance of GR getting it. The others I am counting on GR getting in - we'll see... The last new DS game they got was Big Brain Academy, but the releases have been pretty sparse since then anyway.

So either GR has decided to run some $5 off DS preorder special (and perhaps other systems as well!), or they simply are going to offer DS games at $5 under MSRP (I guess we should check on the already released games to see if they are $5 less now). Or it is just a mistake at corporate in which case we should lock in those prices while we can.

That's how I got all the other release dates - I ain't some sort of insider you know .

Back to GR:

As I suspected, I couldn't make it into GR today (though I was able to pop into a Sears and snag
an SSX on Tour for PSP for $7). Anyone else check up on the DS games? It's like my post last night
killed this thread dead. What's up?

I saw that amazon (J&R) has dropped their price on Aeon Flux PS2 to $9.99 before shipping. If the price is still holding at $19 at GR, it may be worth looking into.

I think its gone to $13.99 at CC. Last time I was in there it had a Cool Deals sticker on it...

I don't mean to rain on your parade, io, but I see a problem with your logic. I've pre-ordered games before, and had to pay extra due to price increases at release. Nintendogs, for example, was an extra $1 when I went to pick it up. Something tells me you'll pay that "phantom" $5 when you go to claim your games. After all, prices are subject to change.
Anyone else check up on the DS games?
Here's what I found out today:

1) NDS preorders asked about (dates are BB dates):

Cooking Mama - Not in the system
Lunar Knights - 12/08 - $29.99 (EB - $29.99)
Harvest Moon - 09/15 - $29.99 (EB - $29.99)
Mage Knight Destiny's Soldier - 09/22 - $29.99 (EB - $29.99)
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis - 09/29 - $29.99 (EB - $34.99)
Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime - 09/22 - $34.99 (EB - $34.99)
Star Trek: Tactical Assault - 10/06 - $34.99 (EB - $39.99)
Meteos: Disney Edition - Not in the system
Lego Star Wars II - 12/12 - $34.99 (EB - $34.99)

2) Some comparison preorder price checks:

Lego Star Wars II (360) - 12/12 - $49.99 (EB - $49.99)
Lego Star Wars II (GC) - 12/12 - $39.99 (EB - $39.99)

So... not sure if this is just random mispricing or not, or whether it is limited to NDS or not.

3) I put down full payment on Star Fox Command and Mario Hoops. Nothing indicates 'paid in full', just the amount I paid. My only other active preorder is Twilight Princess, and it's on one of the invisible ink receipts (I check it every so often, and it's in their system. Not sure how it shows in the system, though). She did mention that if you overpay, they credit the difference. In any case, can't confirm a lock-in price either way.

4) I grabbed New Super Mario Bros off the shelf, and price checked it. Rang up at the expected $34.99. I picked something least likely to have a natural price change, to check the 'all DS on sale' theory. Considering the other preorders were inconsistent, it is possible that there are titles out there that are reduced and I just didn't pick one of them.

In summary, I have no idea what any of this means. :whistle2:?
In summary, I have no idea what any of this means. :whistle2:?
All I can say is wow and good job. I normally can get 2 questions in before they act like I am asking them to raise the dead.

That has not been the case in the past - and it can work against you just as easily as for you. For example, if you pay $34.99 for a preorder and it comes out at $29.99 you DO NOT get the difference back (without much hassle anyway) - just ask Botticus .

If they are paid in full they are marked as a "presale", not a "presale - deposit". Otherwise, how would they keep track of the $29.99 preorder deal they had last year? The receipts show those as "presale" at $29.99 but I never had to pay the difference (and I, and many others, still have many of those preorders still in the system). They were not marked in any way as being part of the special.

It is possible the clerk marked your payment as a deposit instead of a full presale. In that case you would have to pay the difference.

We'll find out alot when Starfox Command comes out in a few weeks - both if GR is going to keep getting DS games and if they will hold to the $29.99 price.

-----------------

Thanks, Kojubat. Strange on the Lego Star Wars and Dragon Quest - those are the only 2 exceptions on $34.99+ games so far. At least they fixed the GC Lego Star Wars II price - when I last checked it was $49.99 so I preordered it at EB instead. They also had Rogue Galaxy and Okami at $49.99 so maybe those have been fixed. I'll just keep those at EB though since I will be cancelling/switching so many DS games and I don't want to piss them off too much

And I'm kind of glad, actually, that the $29.99 minimum holds (so I'm sure any $19.99 games will be $19.99). That way I can switch the EB games to $29.99/$19.99 games (like Lunar Knights).

I will preorder M vs DK at GR and switch my EB preorder to Dragon Quest, perhaps, since it is $34.99 both places. I can keep my Lego Star Wars at EB, and switch Deep Labyrinth (just 'cause of bad reviews) to Lunar Knights. Then I still have to figure out what to do with my EB preorders for Contact (will probably keep since GR may not get it), Mario Hoops, and Children of Mana...

Looks like I have some work ahead of me at GR this week after being gone all weekend. Time to figure out what I need to preorder there and what I need to switch at EB.

And yes, I am fairly sure that as long as you pay a preorder in full, there is no additional charge. when they look at your receipt, if it doesn't say "DEPOSIT" then they will just deliver the game to you in the system, which doesn't involve any additional transactions. This follows from the fact that if you put $40 down on a game, they don't give you $10 back upon delivery if the price has since dropped.

And io, I would just drop/switch the duplicate preorders you have at EB. Even if GR doesn't get those games, unless you absolutely need them on day 1, EB won't sell out of them permanently. If they're getting multiple shipments of Summon Night, they'll get multiples of Contact, etc.

True enough about EB. The only caveat to that is if you want a non-gutted, non-stickered, and, in fact, sealed, copy of a DS game from EB you had better preorder it . They get so few that they will almost always be down to one gutted copy (even Tao's Adventure was like this at the EB I went to a few days ago).

I now have my receipts in front of me. Preorders paid in full say "Presale" and then the price. As Botticus noted, these are simply "delivered" when you pick them up and no money changes hands (either way). When I put down $5 it says "Presale (Deposit)". In that case you are subject to price changes when you pay the balance (but on things like Wii games it is the way to go as they have them all listed at $59.99 now).

Kojubat - you checked pretty much every one I had a question on! The only thing I will have to check when I go in to switch things is Loco Roco (to make sure this $5 discount doesn't extend to PSP games) and to see if some of the bigger Wii games are in the system yet (MP3, Mario Galaxy, Smash Brawl).

Botticus - you could always switch those EB preorders to Wii games as they are all in the EB/GS system now. I might do that if I can't come up with anything else.

OK, here's an update to the DS preorder situation (with the new info from kojubat incorporated):

GAME ----------------- Release Date ----- EB/GS Price ----- GR price
Star Fox Command - Aug. 28 ------------ $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Lego Star Wars II -- Sept. 7 ------------- $34.99 ----------- $34.99
Mario Hoops --------- Sept. 11 ----------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Cooking Mama ------ Sept. 12 ----------- $19.99 ------------ N/A
Harvest Moon ------- Sept. 12 ----------- $29.99 ----------- $29.99
Contact --------------- Sept. 19 ----------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Dragon Quest Hero - Sept. 19 ---------- $34.99 ----------- $34.99
Mage Knight --------- Sept. 19 ----------- $29.99 ----------- $29.99
Mario vs DK 2 -------- Sept. 25 ----------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
FFCC Ring of Fates - Oct. 1 -------------- $34.99 ----------- N/A
Star Trek T. Assault - Oct. 3 ------------- $39.99 ----------- $34.99
Magical Starsign ---- Oct. 23 ------------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Children of Mana --- Oct. 30 ------------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Final Fantasy III ---- Nov. 1 -------------- $39.99 ----------- $34.99
Lunar Knights ------- Nov. 1 -------------- $29.99 ----------- $29.99
Yoshi's Island 2 ----- Nov 13 ------------- $34.99 ----------- $29.99
Castlevania PoR ---- Nov. 21 ------------- $39.99 ----------- $34.99
Chibi Robo DS ------- Dec. 1 --------------- $34.99 ----------- N/A
LoZ Phantom HG ---- Mar. 1, '07 --------- $39.99 ----------- N/A
Meteos Disney ------ Mar. 15, '07 -------- $29.99 ----------- N/A

So if you are interested in any of these (highlighted) games I would preorder them in full at GR with the following warnings:

* Contact is an Atlus title that GR is unlikely to get.
* GR has been pretty crappy about getting ANY DS titles in, so YMMV on any others as well (though the Nintendo and Squeenix ones are more likely than the others - we'll get a good test of that with Star Fox Command in a few weeks).
* It appears all $34.99 and up DS games are $5 less than MSRP at GR with two exceptions so far: Lego Star Wars II and Dragon Quest Heroes. It is unknown if the games will still be this price when they are released so it is best to preorder (and make it clear you are paying in full) ASAP.
* Make sure your receipt says "Presale" and not "Presale (Deposit)" or you may be charged the difference when the game releases (if they raise them back up to MSRP later).
* The release dates in the list above are from EB's web site. It appears the GR release dates might be wildly different (if that is what Kojubat posted - some are very different). This might cause problems when picking up games (eg, they think they are not due for another month after the release date!).

Yup, I posted the GR release date that she told me. Now, I didn't actually see the screen - I just wrote down what she said. The possibility exists that a) I misheard/miswrote what she said, b) she misread the screen or c) GR's system has the wrong date (inconceivable!).

In any case, my preorders for Star Fox and Hoops don't mention anything about 'deposit', so I should be good. Or, as good as I can be, considering I just preordered two more DS games when I have a dozen or so on the shelf still in shrinkwrap. Too many sales lately.

Anyway, kjauburn, I rarely have problems in any of the stores I go into. In fact, considering I typically hit anywhere from 2 to 10 stores every weekend, I can only remember one problem situation, and that was EB. It was cleared up by calling corporate from inside the store - and I didn't even get any attitude afterwards. I must be just drop-dead sexy, earning the adoration of the masses wherever I roam. (And if you believe that, I've got a bridge and some swampland you might be interested in. ;))

Honestly, though, I think it's a combination of generally nice employees in my area, presenting an image of 'sociable family man' (I usually have my kids with me) and being on top of the way they do things (like having ID and store card already on the counter).

I probably won't get back to GR until the weekend, unless something dramatic comes up. I think I'm going to pick up N3, but I'm not in a rush to get it release day. Since there aren't any deals or big-profit trade-ins going on other than this strange DS preorder sale, I probably won't hit more than one or two stores, anyway.

I'll have to do some reading up on which of the discounted games are must-haves. I'll probably do Lego Star Wars II for the 360 on the big screen, since I'm a sucker for achievements. I have Final Fantasy III at EB, so I should probably switch that to something else and get it through GR.

Anyone switch any pre-orders lately? I remeber when you switched something you got with the $30 deal back in the day...they would sometimes give you $30 back. I have Halo3 pre-ordered through this deal (my store let me pre-order 360 games). I may switch this game to Madden though....since I want sooner gratification.

I guess I again have a good GR manager. Several times I've questioned pre-order prices (for example, I recently preordered Flatout 2 and the price was $49.99 when I knew it should have been $39.99) and my manager has always said not to worry, if the price went down when it came out he would credit me back the difference. And he has.

The system does not automatically do it, however. I always have to ask for it, but they have had absolutely no problem doing it.

It's rediculous if they think you should pay higher than the game EVER retails for. That's penalizing people who pre-order, which the whole point of pre-orders is to generate more sales. It should be GR policy to always refund the difference on pre-orders if the price drops before it releases.

I had switched my Zelda GC to Zelda Wii with no problem. I had that game pre-ordered since the deal started...I think most of the employees forgot about the $30 deal. Since when I did it, the guy that would not let me switch pre-orders (tried to give me $30 of credit only) did it no problem and gave me credit for the full $50.

And that's likely the right answer. I just went by what I had written down on my note.
EB has Lego Star Wars II listed to ship on 9/12.
Actually, now it is Sept. 7th! (It changed a few days ago on their site).

That is the one that worries me at GR - they probably do have a Dec. 12th date in their system and when it doesn't arrive by mid-Sept they will say it isn't supposed to be released till December .

I have both of those (GC and DS) preordered at EB and I think I'll keep them there, since this is one game (the GC version anyway, I'd like to know more about the DS one) that I want on day one!

As for switching preorders, jkircos nailed it - we are so far out from that preorder deal that I don't think anyone remembers it any more. I was pretty lucky in that switching one a few months ago I was actually able to get them to credit me the difference between the refund price ($35) and $50 to preorder ANOTHER game, since I had used the deal on the original preorder. But that was one of the games that never came in (Metroid Hunters) so they were a bit more flexible about it - plus it was one employee who remembered the deal and is nicer about that kind of stuff.

And awp - everything you said makes perfect sense, but this is GR we're talking about here .

As of today, 8/14, the trade 3 get an extra 5 bucks each still works here in Indianapolis! I just traded Call of Cthulu, Stubbs the Zombie, and Hitman Contracts and I got like 39 dollars and some change after the bonus. I picked up Dead Rising and payed the difference. Just thought this might be of interest to some people.

Been looking forward for this one as well. I wonder why the 360 version is still slated for the 12th? Doesn't really matter since more than likely they're street dated to coincide with the release of the Trilogy on the 12th.
Is Okami still 49.99 in the GR system? I might want to change it before they change the price.
Not sure - I switched mine to something else a few weeks ago to be safe. Switched Rogue Galaxy as well. Those were both from the $29.99 preorder deal (though Rogue Galaxy was in turn switched from another game). So I *should* have been able to cancel even if they were $39.99 and put them on $49.99 games anyway - but I figured I was saving tons of hassle by doing it before they dropped in the system. And I'm glad I did all that before the credit hassles I had - would be harder to do now.

But they did correct Lego Star Wars II so my guess is that they would have fixed Okami as well, since it comes out so soon. Rogue Galaxy is probably another matter, but then probably no one but me had that preordered anyway :D.

My remaining preorders from the $29.99 deal are solidly $49.99 games (Zelda, FF XII, PSU, Disgaea 2, Super Paper Mario). Of course, they won't get Disgaea 2 so I'll be able to switch that to a Wii game. I already put $5 on the Wii version of Zelda but I'm holding off on paying in full to see if Wii games really retail at $59.99 (the flip side of the GR preorder quirk).

-----------

You know, I *really* *really* miss the $29.99 preorder deal. Damn, that was nice. I keep waffling on preordering games like Valkyrie Profile 2, Tales of Abyss, Xenosaga III, etc, as I'm not sure if it is worth spending $50, even in GR credit (thus just under $25 cash), on games I might find for $20 (or $10, or $8.96 :D, not too long from now). But at $29.99 I could preorder anything and everything that cost $50 normally and not worry about it - if the game turned out bad, I could either switch it later or just eBay the damn thing and make a bit of profit off it (eg, Shadow the Hedgehog). Or if I kept it to play I didn't need to kick myself when the game was available dirt cheap 6 months later as I only paid $15 or so in real money (eg, Dragon Quest VIII - it was well worth the extra $5 I paid over that CC sale price to have it last year).

There are several PS2 preorders I'd make if that deal came back (namely the ones I mentioned above - though I'm sure Abyss isn't in the system). I might just switch a Zelda preorder to Valkyrie Profile 2, though, as I'm playing VP on the PSP right now and VP 2 has pretty good reviews so far. It will either become a hard-to-find late system release (much like the first VP on PS1) or it will be overproduced and become dirt cheap bargain bin fodder in 6 months. Whichever happens will be a direct result of which path I choose (if I buy it it will be bargain-bin, if I don't it will be impossible to find - see Castlevania DoS and Phoenix Wright for examples of the latter).

Went up tonight to trade a few games in. All are in the cagwiki already. They were still doing the $5 bonus this week at the store I went to. I asked the manager earlier in the week about the end date and he said he didn't have one yet. However, they did take the signs down today so my GR trading could be done for awhile. I was glad to get rid of King Kong 360 for $22 + $5 bonus. Not bad considering I bought it last week for $19.99 and it blew big time.

I was in GR again and forgot to check for the $5 bonus deal! D'oh! I'm always in a hurry with wife/kids waiting in the car.

Anyway, fixed up all my preorders. I now have all of the highlighted DS games from my previous post preordered and fully paid for except Star Trek and Castlevania. I'll probably add Castlevania as I never did get the first one (and it was sitting at GR for months - I was waiting for a price drop). Star Trek I will wait on reviews for - though I might want to preorder it just in case (to lock in the $5 savings). I can always cancel it I suppose.

I need to take care of the EB side of things, but that's a bit harder as the EB is not nearly as close - hopefully they will switch my Deep Labyrinth preorder (due out tomorrow) for Lunar Knights over the phone.

Back to GR - I checked Loco Roco for PSP and it is still at MSRP of $39.99, so this "deal" only seems to be on DS preorders. I also checked for the following Wii games, and NONE are yet in the system: Dragon Quest Swords, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and WarioWare Smooth Moves. So it seems the Wii preorder list hasn't changed from several weeks back (Zelda is in there along with several other games like Elebits - I forget the others as there was nothing there I'd want to preorder at this time anyway).

By the way, apparently you can't change preorders over the phone at EB - chalk up one point for GR (they have done this in the past for me). Now I have to haul myself way over to the out of the way EB to switch Deep Labyrinth. But I guess there's no hurry, the money will just sit there if I don't pick it up.

For anyone in the northern surburbs of Atlanta...

Both the crabapple rd and the town lake stores are still doing the $5 trade in bonus. Not sure if any other stores around town are...

Not that it necessarily means much, but my GR did have the promo box for Star Fox Command on display. So at least they are still getting promo material from Nintendo. Of course, the Metroid Prime Hunters box (now sitting in my son's room) didn't mean much as they still haven't gotten one of those in yet .

But at least it is a sign that they aren't completely cut off from Nintendo products, so hopefully Star Fox Command will be in when it should. I haven't put much time into my DS recently and can't wait for that.

Funny thing is DS games seem to get restocked all the time around me. I noticed they had New Super Mario Bros and Castlevania DOS back in last night. They don't get all the DS games back in, but there are 7 or 8 they always seem to get back in...

Are you serious? My GR has never gotten a resupply of DS games EVER. No SMB since the very first day, no Castlevania since way back... They got another couple of WarioWare Twisted a few weeks ago and that nearly freaked me out. That was the first time I'd seen ANY Nintendo product restocked, actually. Though I did notice they had a Donkey Kong Jungle Beat w/bongoes (marked $54.99) on the GR counter yesterday as well. I have no idea where the hell they got that from - must have come from the back. Of course, I had been looking for that a while ago, but have since gotten it elsewhere.

Maybe its just the market. Around Atlanta there are probably 20+ GR's at least. Most stores don't do very well, but there are a few which seem to get restocked. Mind you its normally 1 or 2 copies, completely random on which games, and you have no idea when. We still have all the same issues with games not coming in at all etc.
