DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

Stopped by GR to see if they had any DS Lites, since they are jampacked to the brim at every other store in town (eg, Costco has 40-50). Turns out they got ONE and sold it the first day. Oh well... I wasn't going to buy it yet anyway (waiting for different color), but I had a little bit of extra credit thanks to my good friend Marc Ecko :D.
 
is there a safe way to sell gamerush gift cards online...a way so that someone cant spend it and say the card was empty?...i have quite a lot of credit that i need to convert to real cash.

It's no different than any other purchase online... a buyer can just as easily say the box you sent them was empty.
 
Oh, also while I was in I asked about Wii and PS3 preorders. Of course nothing on the hardware, but they do have a huge list of PS3 titles available for preorder (as I think doubledown mentioned?) at $59.99. I didn't have time to go through them all but here's a few:

Call of Duty 3, DMC 4, Coded Arms, Full Auto 2, Genji 2 (for massive damage), GTA 4, Untold Legends. No FF XIII, and I didn't check any others.

If you are looking to spend credit you might want to preorder some of these and pay in full - if they end up coming out at $70 you should be OK having paid in full at $60. If, for some reason, they come out cheaper you can always cancel the preorder (as long as you do it before GR adjusts the prices).

They tried to look up Wii games but didn't know what code to use for it (like NDS for DS, PS2, etc) - if anyone finds this out let us know! It might be that there isn't one yet.

Well, now that's interesting as I just picked one up at Kmart for $3 :D. Do I take it to EB for $6 + $2.50 bonus + 10% bonus, or wait for the extra $5 at GR? Hmmmm....

And to think, I almost turned it down when the Kmart guy offered it to me for $3 instead of the $2 it should have been (it scanned with no price at my Kmart). I figured it was 50 cent fodder at EB and GR.

The manager at my GR said the only things she's been told is that the Wii is going to be just under $250.00, so she figures its $249.99.

All the Wii games are listed under NREV since it was supposed to be called the revolution. They may change it though.

Ah - interesting, thanks. Maybe it's time to drop some $5 preorders on those (as I'm sure they will be listed at $60 and I think Wii games will most likely still be $50).

Assuming this storm quits soon and I can get out of the office, I'll be taking care of that and finally cancel my Lost Magic preorder, two months later. Probably move that credit onto a Super Paper Mario preorder since I can never keep track of what DS games they have in the system.

:lol: I will do what I can - need to start making a list of things to check on! I only have a 10% chance of getting a register monkey who can do anything more than trade in games though, so we shall see. I really need to stop ordering stuff at this store so I can finally move my business to the Macedonia store where they at least seem more intelligent, and where the last of the actual GR employees at my store got moved months ago. So probably means I will just cancel Lost Magic, get my credit on my Valuecard, and worry about the new preorder later, though I will try to check on possibilities.
 
I talked to my manager at gr, and he said ps3 preorder will be very soon. Also he told me that ps3 and wii games are in the system, but doesn't know when you can preorder.

Thanks... Well, really, all I need you to do is find out the value of Driver, and you are doing that anyway :D. The Phantom Hourglass and NREV preorder possibilites would just be a bonus.

I have one more Marc Ecko LE. I really can't pass off another at my local store, but I could probably get away with just trading the game (and keeping the LE stuff). But I'm also just tempted to keep this one copy of the LE new and sealed. It is such a NICE set... Hmmmm... But then again, why do I need to keep this giant tin sitting in a closet gathering dust?

I could take the game out, trade that, give the kids the tin, and some day watch the LE DVD to see what the hell could possibly be on it. Oh, and add the Sharpie to my collection :D.

I can't take credit for it, unfortunately :D I'm fairly certain someone here did that by accident with a disc-only Path of Neo (or some other game) since the LE was the first entry that came up in the system.

As said earlier, got $19 for Driver. Cancelled my Lost Magic preorder, but no luck finding anything worthwhile for now. Phantom Hourglass is not in the system yet, and I was told as soon as I asked that there were no Wii games in the system yet. I would have made him look it up, but considering this guy actually knew what the Wii was, I'll take his word for it for now.
 
Well, I got $19 each for Driver and the regular Marc Ecko. I got some comment like "you sure have alot of these grafitti games". Oh well, it was too much trouble to drive too far so I dumped it at the closest BB, and it was my third one there :oops:. Now I definitely need to lay low at that store. I made sure to rent a movie right away at least. I'll just go in and do nothing but rent for the next few weeks, that ought to appease them :D.
 
Well the extra $5 started at my local GR. Swung by CC to see what they had. Ended up grabbing a Driver and a ME:GU. Funny thing was GU rang up at $39.99! Found a GBA DK Classic for $1.50, so it made up for it.

Okay, so I was smacked around for the time I knew there was a WW:Twisted game at my local Blockbuster/Gamerush... so I finally picked it up today. I'm on Stage 4 now. Fun game, actually!

Like doubledown, my CSR said that there are PS3 games in the computer but no system to preorder yet.

May Blockbuster/Gamerush live on til PS3 and Wii launch!!! :applause:

so i found that my gamerush has numerous ds lites still in stock. i bought one to see how itll sell on ebay, im hoping to get a 1:1 credit to cash trade after ebay/paypal fees

As for the bonus it was $5 for the three titles, not each! On the printout the $5 was divided among the three games. After the bonus it came out to $20.67, $23.67 and $13.66 respectively.

Really I am not surprised the game trade in prices are taking longer to drup on older games. They fired 20-30% of the corporate staff earlier in the year, so some things had to slip. IE: Gamerush website updates gone...

Its really to are benefit, but even if Getting up is still $19/$24 after tonight I won't bother trading anymore in since I believe this title is definitely a red flag to local stores. We all know it should have dropped 2 weeks ago with matrix and by now stores have been flooded with them. I am content with my 2 silver sharpies...

I am still holding out on the $5 per game. Districts and even stores seem to have different understandings on the trade in deals since they seem to always be a little vaque.

Agreed... A while back when the extra $5 per game was going on the CSR almost jipped me of the $5/game and was going to give me $5 for the entire transaction. I had to point out the fine print to the CSR who cheerfully gave me $5/game. :applause:
 
With all the Ecko's LE that have been traded in I was wondering if anyone kept anything from it. Personally I kept the sharpies since it seemed to be the only thing worth a damn in the entire tin.

I kept a few Sharpies, plus a whole LE set on the last one (I just traded the game). It might be worth the $6 of GR credit to watch those videos some time :D. OK, maybe not, but the tin is cool!

Hopefully this deal ends up being $5 per game and they just did it wrong at that store - was it something they did manually, or did they scan a barcode to get the deal?
 
I have a LE sharpie as well, hah. Trade in prices from yesterday.

Aeon Flux- $24
Flatout-$24
Driver- $19

I still haven't found a good source for Aeon Flux. I just picked it up at a local used game store.

It was entered manually. The thing is the guy who helped me has been working there since these GR deals started a couple of years ago. He's usually on top of things and has had an understanding on how past deals worked. Hopefully it was just at that store and not at the others. Well we'll find out soon enough!

Awesome... they drop Path of Neo to $12 pretty much on time when the new price drops to $20. But for two other games, they wait a week, and then drop the trade-in to, what, the same price as the used sale price?
