Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.
I went to a Gamerush today which refused to sell me any of the 75% off games. They said it was a pricing error, I'm going to go back Friday and see if they still say the same thing.
It must have been a regular blockbuster employee..I had some trouble the other night sometimes blockbuster employees act like there from a diferent world than a person that works the gamerush counter maybe its just something ive noticed.

me: how much are these there suposed to be on sale

employee: it says right on them how much they are

me: do you see all the big signs like 5 feet away from us about how there on sale?

employee: 'silently scans acts suprised that prices come up diferently'
Warning, this might be because they have disabled the promo in your area (as they have in mine). So I'd go back to that same guy ASAP if you want to trade more at regular BB's before he catches on :D.
I don't know, this is the same store I was in on Tuesday and he had no clue about the deal. He called up another local BB to get the scoop. At the time he thought it would automatically add the $5, but today he had a binder opened up and reading it after he scanned the games in.

Just to be safe, I will do my next trades at the store that has the deal posted inside.

Hey, I'm new to this. I wanted to buy this Sony PSP Battery for $8.75. But I don't know how to. Where do I have to go? Whom do I have to write? Next thing is that I'm German and don't know if you ship to Germany...

I think you are out of luck, unless you can find someone on CAG that will ship one to you

h2dk, in honor of your new addition, I've changed my Avatar to one of my beasties (holding a Mario of course) :D.

Anyone had any luck with the extra $5 at any Long Island BB's? I haven't gone to try yet...I'll probably go to the one where my friend works because he'll at least be willing to look it up in the computer or whatever to see if he can do it.
I got my GR Value card since mine opened like 3 years ago. I still use it today, even though it's all beaten up. I'm not sure if they still distribute those cards today.
They tried to give me one on Wednesday (he didn't recognize the standard BlockBuster value card I was using, oddly enough), so the orange GR cards are still out there.

I probably should have taken it that way. It's about time to move to another card. I don't like the red flag when the credit value is over $200.

Trust me my friend 200 bucks isn't going to bring up any flags because you can save up to 500 on it. Flags don't come up until you keep trading in the same game over and over again. 500 bucks shouldn't bring up any flags either since they know that PS3 is coming out soon and people are trying to save up credit for it or a Wii.
AoE is $29.99 new - there's been one at my GR forever.

And just so you know, I bought 3 of those Wavebird battery packs when they were 99 cents and not a single one worked. They are utter crap. I think many others here reported them not working as well. In fact, I don't think anyone got one that worked (or worked well in any case).
I chucked atleast 8 of them as they NEVER worked. Would last 3-5 minutes on a 'full charge'. AVOID, even at 25 cents.

What does X-men and Dynasty Warriors for 360 get?

Many people don't care if it's complete or disc only, they just want it to play, and for a non collector if it's the choice between a disc only or nothing at all they will take a disc only.

I think if disc only's were so unprofitable Gamestop would have stopped taking them in years ago.

No. Buying back 5,000 old sports titles is unprofitable, but they take them back. I think the OP's point about disc-onlys is that there are also usually many of the same title with everything there. I look at my GR's used section and laugh. 75% of that merchandise is not going anywhere, ever, until there happens to be a killer used sale. The old trade 3 get new @ 29.99 + trade value could not have been profitable....but they did it.

Now...in the end, the loss they see from allowing stupid trades may be outweighed by the goodwill they build with the average customer but that is somewhat imeasurable.

Thanks, Shipwreck. I was a little late to the party but still managed OutRun2 and Jade Empire for $5 each. BTW, at 5 or 6 local stores, both versions of Fable were full price ($20).

Btw, I had never looked around a Gamerush before... I cannot BELIEVE the prices on their used games. Who actually goes in and buys those?!

Aww man this so blows. All the crappy stores which never have any amazing deals on ACTUAL NEW SEALED games are near me(EB), and the GameRush which is having this superb sale is like 40 minutes away and I have no vehicle. :( Doubt they would have much left anyway considering this is quite an old post.

This sale started on Tueday of this week, so it might be wrth it

I'm not worried about corporate or the technological limitations of their POS system, really. I get weird looks and offhand comments whenever I trade in and get the total over $200, and then don't buy anything. It's more a preference to fly under the radar than any worry of repercussions. Right now I have two cards around $225 each, and my current card just topped $200 after Wednesday's circuit.

Considering I've picked up a DS Lite, two new controllers, and about a dozen clearance games over the last week or so, I'm actually not all that concerned. I might put my next trade (trying to beat my B1G1 Xmen 360 by Sunday - paying me $10 to rent a game for a few days is nice) on one of my older cards.
Sorry to sound like a noobie, but there are Gamerush value cards?? You learn something new every day I guess. Mine has never had anything but the Blockbuster Value cards - so when I've talked about "Value Cards" in the past I meant those. Then there are the Blockbuster gift cards, which clerks at regular BB's seem to have an easier time dealing with.

I guess it is just as well not to have the "Gamerush" branded ones as I could see some regular BB's being confused by those :D.
Yeah, I got a GR value card almost a year ago. It's orangish with GameRush written across it, but at the bottom there's a black strip that has a BB logo and it says value card next to the BB logo, so I knew that they would accept it at normal BBs.

P.S. You AND h2dk have KIDS?! Dang...

You may or may not be able to find much. Someone posted on FATWALLET. People have been sighting hoarders coming in and buying hundreds worth at a time, and somtimes the whole lot of games for ebay(?).

Wow, that's a lot of credit. Though I suppose considering I have around $100 in credit right now, I've probably spent at least that much credit over the last few months with preorders and whatnot.

ok I don't want to go browsing on 51 pages. So is this trade extra 5 per title in for BLockbuster only also? As I have no gamerush close to me.

It is at both Blockbuster and Gamerush but YMMV if your Blockbuster is a franchisee because they don't always participate in deals like this.

So is there a limit 10 games per transaction on the extra $5 deal.

I'm looking to clear up some space, build up some more credit for the Wii/PS3 (if GR lasts that long).
its a limit of 10
Alright thanks. Sorry about all the questions, ive been out of the loop as far as trading (last time i traded was during the Geist/Echo Night/Kuon $24 craze). Im down to $30 credit and i need some more.

I'm trying to find games from CC that bring at least $7 in profit. So far ive got Exit, , Flatout, Nightmare Before Christmas, Mark Ecko LE, and Combat Elite.

Its hard to judge by the wiki as some of the prices arent up to date. are there any other good cash crops from CC?

Driver: Parallel Lines currently gets $16 (before $5 bonus). I think that price is for both the PS2 and XBox versions.

I went and bought a PSP battery for $8, and I'm thinking of going back and getting another... and I don't even own a PSP. :)

what exactly do you mean by Blockbuster being a franchise?
what exactly do you mean by Blockbuster being a franchise?
They aren't owned by Blockbuster, Inc., they just use the brand name.
what exactly do you mean by Blockbuster being a franchise?
Some stores are franchise stores - that is, the Blockbuster corporation licenses a private person or people to run the store as a Blockbuster location, but it is not in the direct control of Blockbuster corporate. It's a Blockbuster, but because corporate doesn't run the day-to-day operations of the store, the franchisee can choose to opt out of corporate promotions.

So, if any of your local stores are franchises, they may not honor this deal.
Wow, that's a lot of credit. Though I suppose considering I have around $100 in credit right now, I've probably spent at least that much credit over the last few months with preorders and whatnot.
Yeah, considering I also traded my way into my Xbox 360 last year, I've processed a lot of credit through GameRush. It helps that there are quite a few in the area, and the local clearance sales aren't strip-mined within the first hour.

Until I picked up the DS, though, I haven't been interested in getting anything new since Oblivion. I'll probably end up burning most of it for a PS3 to put up on eBay. The cash-to-credit-to-cash investment is too much to ignore.

Still, I'll probably pick up a new game here and there. Chromehounds looks interesting.

I suppose that could be it... I only have two GRs within reasonable driving distance, one more so, so it's a bit harder to completely raid clearances before they clearly remember the last time I traded in that exact game.

Lol, i remember trading 10-11 Kuon's into the same location. After that, this one guy that works there started asking me "Come to give us more Kuons?" everytime i came in.

Funny thing is that 5 of those Kuons are still on the shelf :p.

There are several others that bring in $12 (+$5 gets >$7 profit)
Castlevania: COD (PS2 & Xbox)
Cabelas Outdoor Hunter
Indigo Prophecy (not sure what this is currently)
etc.

So I head to the farmington gamerush. My plan is to trade in Far Cry, Xmen Legends 1, and Prince of Persia 2 and get the 5 dollar bonus. I browse the clearance rack and saw Xenosaga II and thought to myself, "what kind of a loser would buy that game." Anyway I decided I would pick up The Warriors for Xbox since nothing else caught my eye. This is when my day all went to shit.

You see the employees who work at the Farmington Blockbuster are of a special breed. Aolat is probably familiar with the crew up there and could confirm this. Now keep in mind these aren't the gamerush employees I'm talking about. Both of the dudes who work the gamerush counter are good guys. So anyway I take my games up to the counter knowing I would be in for quite the struggle with the Blockbuster employee. To keep a long story short the lady working and her accomplice explain to me that a game has to "trade in for at least 7 dollars in order for it to work." At this point I realize that I know more about their business than they do. I ask if she's sure that's what the deal is and say that I thought Blockbuster had to be able to sell it for 7 bucks (decided to keep the amount at 7, as to not blow her mind completely). So her friend chimes in "naw naw it gots ta trade in fo 7."

I took my games and left to head to another Blockbuster cause I couldn't think of a way to prove to them what the deal actually was.

So I go to the livonia Blockbuster. Now in here they give me my extra five and total me up. I get 33 bucks for the 3 games. Good deal and I'm thinking I'll take my credit right back to Farmington and get The Warriors. It's at this point the lady drops a bomb on me. Turns out that store had changed their policy and they no longer give out value cards and the credit has to go on the account. I asked if I could use the credit on my account to buy a gift card and was told that wasn't possible. Now this wouldn't have been a problem except this particular Blockbuster's game selection was lacking to say the least.

I took my games and left, I didn't want a used copy of The Warriors for 24.99.

So now I've gotta go to another blockbuster and hope they will let me put my credit on a value card. I think I'll print out the deal from gamerush.com and take it back and show it to LaFwanda and Shaniqua at the Farmington store. Sometimes you just have to teach people how to do their job even if you don't work there.

go 3 miles east and 3 miles north towards the maple and lahser store, those guys are awesome, im planing on going to the farmington/livonia store tomrorow...any good clearance selection left?

I went to the GameRush in Mesquite, TX (Texas 352 Davis and Pioneer). This GameRush is not listed on the store locater and they had one awesome selection. They had T-O-N-S of Metroid Prime 2s and the BlockBuster employee was trying to get me to buy them. I already had that game and really did not need it. I picked up:

GBA
Activision Anthology
F-Zero GP Legend

GC
SSX On Tour

Viewtiful Joe (I thought it was clearanced at $3.75 but it rang up to $9.99, no worries though, it was a 1st edition and I thought I would never see one again.)

Thanks CAG!! I'm Broke! :D

You're thinking of Viewtiful Joe 2. Viewtiful Joe for PS2 is clearanced out though...at, if I remember correctly, $4.25. The GC version is not...probably because they reordered it after VJ2 came out...so their copies are actually newer than VJ2.

It wasn't a PC though :)

I see the PC Versions all the time, but I have never seen one without the yellow bands in like a year! Still $9.99 for a great game can't be beat.

The farmington store didn't really have anything worth mentioning in terms of clearance games. Here's what I can remember:

Timesplitters Future Perfect
SSX On Tour
Rainbow Six Black Arrow
Tom Clancy 3 Pack
Some random psp games - MLB, Smart Bomb, Riiiiidge Racer
Geist
Random LotR game
Xenosaga II
What does X-men and Dynasty Warriors for 360 get?
Dynasty Warriors is already on the CAGwiki (see the 1st post for the link). X-men hasn't been posted yet AFAIK. I'm sure Jammerdez1 will get it next time he/she works since he/she has been going down the list.

Nice attack on me with the Xenosaga part you dick. Anyways, when I bought Xenosaga there was a black lady working the register that was cool. She was surprised that I found two games for $5 each. Anyways, the two guys that work the GR counter kick ass, and I thought they had a good selection. Was the single copy of Unreal Championship 2 gone? I was thinking about going back and getting that.

Also, there are a ton of GR stores around us within 25 miles. I was surprised when I used their website. Anyways, you wanna go to said GRs and buy me these games?:

Fable
Pikmin 2
Pariah
MGS: TS
RE0
and Castlevania: LoI

If you do find those games pick them up for me, or I kill you.
