Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.

Reported Trade-In Prices

Trade-In Price Wiki
Chicken Little (XB): $19
Giant Enemy Crab: The Prequel (PS2): $9.50
Almost triple value after trading in Genji? You obviously struck its weak point for massive damage!

Ho-hum, spent 5 minutes in an EB tonight while on the way to my brother-in-law's house converting a 96 cent Drake from CC, a free Duel Masters from Best Buy, and $17.50 in GR credit (4 clearance games) into $41.25 in EB credit.

And some people on CAG put us down for spending all our time exploiting these deals ("get a real job", "not worth the trouble", etc). Pah...

I did get an extra $5 more than I was supposed to due to the wonders of the manual $10 trade deal adjustment :D. For some reason, instead of doing the $3.33/$3.33/$3.34 thing, or the the lazy-assed variation of simply bumping one game by $20, he added $5 to each game except the last one (out of 6). Yeah, that's right, 5 x $5 = $25, so apparently I was partaking in a super-secret Trade 3 get a $12.50 bonus deal . YMMV, it should be said.

So far I've gotten about $500 in EB credit from ($200-$300 in) GR clearance games.

Oh, and to the guy worrying about the EB prices dropping, I agree with Botticus. They aren't likely to change at all - and if they do it will be be 50 cents or $1, which shouldn't really effect their value as GR->EB credit transfers. And they might even go up - today I found out that Duel Masters (which is free at Best Buy after coupon) actually went UP 50 cents. WTF??

So Flow for PS2 is $5 with coupon at Best Buy and gets $6+$5 bonus at Gamerush...nice. Anyone trade in the xbox version of Nightmare Before Christmas? It's $10 at Best Buy and potentially gets $19+$5 bonus like the PS2 version.

Can someone get the trade-in values for Starfox Assault (GC), Geist (GC), Baten Kaitos (GC), and Winning Eleven 8 (PS2)? I used to be able to just ask, but now they require you to have the game to scan.

Thanks.

Starfox, Geist, and Baten won't qualify for the $5 bonus because they are clearance games at GR. They should trade in for well below their clearance price, which you can find on the main page of this thread.

No, they should still qualify for the extra $5, but expect their trade-in values before the bonus to be next to nothing. In other words, don't expect to make a nice profit by flipping clearance games.
ah... once more a dumbass assumes and makes an ass of himself. of course i said i wanted trauma center for ds, but i guess if i couldnt read either id confuse it with leisure suit larry, its understandable.
Your understanding of punctuation and capitalization is nonexistent.

Yeah they tell me that sometimes because they are to lazy to look the game up. Walk over to the game rental area find the game you wanted them to check and take the case up to them. Don't be a jerk about it, just politely ask them again with the case in hand...

Another one people might want to check is PSP Gretzky NHL 2006. Seems like it ought to be a fair amount, still, and it can be had for $5 at Best Buy after coupon. My Best Buy had 15 of them. Ditto for PS2 Gretzky 2006, but I don't see that as trading in for as much. If anyone is in today and could check on the PSP one I'd appreciate it. I might go in tomorrow.

I tried trading some games in today but was told that I could only get the $5 bonus on games with a trade-in value of at least $7.50 (before the bonus). That's a first for me, but that was just what the manager told me, so I'll just have to find a different GR for trading. Anyways, I did manage to get a few trade-in quotes:

PS2:
Aeon Flux - $24 (still)
Sly 3 - $19

Xbox:
Amped - $1.25
Circus Maximus - $1
Corvette - $1.25
High Rollers Casino - $2.50
Nightcaster - $1
Outlaw Volleyball - $.50
Phantom Crash - $1
Project Gotham Racing - $1.25
Splinter Cell - $1.25
TMNT Mutant Melee - $7
World Championship Poker - $2.50

so I don't have any gamerushes around here. But on the receipt it says my BB is a franchise? I don't see any signs for the extra 5 per game. Do I have to ask for the extra manually or?
so I don't have any gamerushes around here. But on the receipt it says my BB is a franchise? I don't see any signs for the extra 5 per game. Do I have to ask for the extra manually or?
If your BB is a franchisee they almost surely WILL NOT be participating in the deal. It is YMMV whether normal regular BB's participate anyway, as I have only found 1 of 5 that does it. And they had very prominent signage all over the store advertizing it.

However, it might be worth asking what the trade-in values of certain games are at your franchisee BB. At the franchisee store that I went to once, I found that they gave wildly different trade-in values than normal BB's - some were higher, some lower. So just know what the wiki values are for your games before you go and see what you can get there.
Baten Kaitos trades in for $1.25 and I got the extra $5 bonus.
Ah, well, that's YMMV as they sell it new for $7.50. At least they lowered the trade-in price to the point that you lose money if you buy it and trade it right back in.

Just so I'm clear, in order to qualify for the $5 bonus the game must have either a) RESALE or b) TRADE-IN value of $7.99. Which one? Thanks for the help.
Just so I'm clear, in order to qualify for the $5 bonus the game must have either a) RESALE or b) TRADE-IN value of $7.99. Which one? Thanks for the help.
Neocisco, it is supposed to be SALE value of $7.99, which makes most things that trade in for more than $2 or so eligible. HOWEVER, as usual YMMV as many GR people, apparantly, lack reading comprehension and do enforce it as $7.99 trade-in value. But you can just point them to their very own signs to clear them up if need be. The flip side of this is that they are not supposed to give the bonus for GBA games, but since those were always included in deals before, if they aren't reading the restrictions well they might give you the bonus on them too.

Neocisco the GR by the silos in Roswell has been giving the $5 on every game even GBA for me. They haven't worried about the $7.99 limit as well, just as long as its not a old sports game. Townlake has been doing it the same way, but 1 person denied GBA games once. I have traded in several games they sale for $6.99 and received the bonus as long as the trade in price + bonus does not equal more then they sale it...

My problem with getting the $5 bonus on games your not supposed to get it on is that the computer actually tells them not to give you the bonus. None of the employees I've dealt with are willing to override what the computer tells them.

That somewhat happened to me tonight.

I traded in:
Champions of Norrath - $7
LoZ: Wind Waker - $7
Rebel Strike / Rogue Squadron III - $7
Brute Force (friend threw his copy in there for laughs) - $0.50
Infected - $12.50

The lady said that the first three qualified, yet the last two didn't. Now BF I knew wouldn't, but Infected is something else. Okay, I was fine with that. She hands me the form and I sign it....and then she scans my card. For some reason, it wasn't working, blah blah blah. She told me that she couldn't figure out what was wrong; she wouldn't give me the extra $5 for any of the games since she didn't want to get in trouble if she gave me too much credit, yadda yadda yadda....she would put a note there and told me to talk to the manager on Monday, blah blah blah.

If it weren't for the fact that I signed the damn paper, I would have taken my games back and gone to the other GR down the street. Seriously, this is some mighty foul bullshit. Ah well, I'll just have to talk to the manager on Monday...if I get screwed then, then this is the last transaction I do at BB/GR ever. -_-''''

:whistle2:s Don't you sign the slip after they give you your credit?
:whistle2:s Don't you sign the slip after they give you your credit?
Some counties require you to fill out forms, give fingerprints, weight, height, etc.
:whistle2:s Don't you sign the slip after they give you your credit?
It was obvious she didn't have a clue what the hell she was doing. She told me the value of what I would get, and I said okay. She printed the slip and gave it to me. I signed it. Then gave her the value card, of which she tried to input the value, only for the rest of what happened to happen. I haven't had a problem yet, and this happens tonight. =/

This sort of happened the other day when my friend traded in four games, and they forgot to give him the credit. The manager came up and just gave him the $20 credit without really looking at the games or the value. Ironic, considering one of these was Getting Up. :p

A few questions:

1) Is the 75%off sale at ALL Gamerush/BB stores? Is there a section that says 75%off or do you have to hunt for them?

2) Are there any stores in Rochester, NY?

3)Do you have to fill in any silly forms to buy? You don't right?

Thanks for any help in advance!

So, what have been the stipulations for the extra $5? I have a few XBOX games I still want to trade....I'm hoping to get $5 for each. They are:
- Crash Nitro Kart
-World Series Poker
-Doom 3
-MVP 2005
-MX vs ATV

I figure I can at least get $30+ for those after bonus....as long as I get my $5

1) Well, whichever Gamerush stores that actually have clearance items remaining, yes. Blockbuster stores are hit-or-miss. Some stores will have a clearance area; other stores will have it mixed in with the non-clearance games.

2) Going by a zipcode check off Blockbuster's website into Gamerush's website, no.

3) Shouldn't need anything. I stress "shouldn't."

My mom is in Rochester visiting until tomorrow night, but know that there are no stores there, I can focus all my money into the Play-Asia sale!
Hooray!
1) Well, whichever Gamerush stores that actually have clearance items remaining, yes. Blockbuster stores are hit-or-miss. Some stores will have a clearance area; other stores will have it mixed in with the non-clearance games.
Every GR store I've been to lately has a 'clearance section' filled with the usual crap like Backyard wrestling, 2004 sports games, Urbz and the usual bottom feeder games, but the actual GOOD clearance titles that would actually sell if they were labelled correctly and were in the right place are still mixed in with the regular titles, still with their usual 19.99/29.99 tags on them - Metroid prime 2, Resident evil outbreak 2, Killer7, Batman Begins, etc. And that's without even mentioning the REAL juicy sale stuff that's still sitting in "The Drawer" behind the counter.
GR has dropped the ball yet again! But hey, its great for CAGs of course because regular folk just browsing won't have a clue that the 29.99 games they're looking at are actually a mere $5.

Does anyone ever read the first post of the thread anymore? I think we have gotten the 'Do all BB/GR doing this deal' questions 5 times in the past 2 days.

Actually the one store I went to knew exactly what titles were for sale and didn't even take the time to move them. When I was checking out the manager was like oh we still have abc and xyz in the cabinets if you want them. He pretty much said people who knew about the sale took the time to ask for the games and they were short on hours...

Finally found a regular blockbuster around me that is actually taking part in the extra $5 trade in deal and I plan on bringing in bunch of games there tomorrow and get some trade in values.

Unfortunately for me, my one and only GR, with a few minor exceptions (MGS 3, NBA Street 3 for GC), retagged EVERY single fucking clearance game on the very first day of 75% off with the new updated low price and put them all out in a prominent display. Nearly all of them are gone now :whistle2:(. Now I'm finding some good EB trade-in gems at regular BB's, where often there isn't even an indication of the sale. But there's nothing at the regular BB's that I'd actually want for myself (esp. things like DS and PSP games of course).

DS and PSP games are tough to find here in GA where we have tons of Gamerush stores. For some reason they were the only areas marked with the clearance correctly. I normally just see polarium and madden ds left at the stores near me...

Found some jampacks on the shelves. Rang up as .50 and 1.50 each. Traded those to EB for easy transfer of credit. Traded in at GR

GC- metroid prime 1.50
XBX- TC trilogy 1.50 per disc

all with bonus 5

asked about these
radiata - 12
ssbm - 13.50
A few trade-ins not on the wiki.

All before the extra $5 :)
GBA
Ice Age $2
Arcade Advance $1.50
Iridion 3d $2
how did you go about getting them to give you the bonus on gba games? would be interesting to know to make it worth dumping some shelf sitters.
My stores are CLEANED out now. Nothing great. One store still has 21 copies of Metroid Prime 2 though.
the guys at ebgames will love it when you bring in 21 freshly opened copies of metroid prime 2 to trade in. buy them at 5 dollars and trade them in at 9.33 a piece...not a bad day at the office

If anyone can pick up a spare Ridge Racers and is willing to sell it, PM me. I don't have any GR near me and none of the local BB's are participating in the 75% off sale (and I've checked about a dozen -- I never realized how many BBs there are....its like Starbucks...)

Thanks!

Scott
Sony Remote Controls $3.75

I just took them in, with a bunch of other games. They have to read the fine print to know that GBA aren't included. I had planned on playing dumb if they refused to take them, but I didn't have to.
Is Kameo (Xbox 360) still holding at 25? I see that it is dropping to 29.99 pretty soon.
all old(er) xbox 360 games seem to have dropped $5-$10 in trade in value over the last 2 weeks

Today:
Driver 2 PL PS2 still 16 +5
Nba 2k6, Mark Ecko 6 +5 each

All CC buys @8.9X each. Not a bad flip. Now to find a freakin GR with a ds lite in stock...

NHL 06 Gretzky PSP gets 7 for trade in at blockbuster weak..I just hanged onto my copy in case I trade in 3 for extra at GS.
