DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.
No GRs by me have a DS Lite in stock. I want to get rid of my old DS, cause the new one is awesome. Has anyone's store been restocked lately?
My store seems to get one at a time. I'm pretty sure that last few times it's been the same one, it's just been sitting there.

This was a VERY successful CAG day. I converted $65 GR credit to $71 EB credit so that I could buy their only copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 (PS2) they got in a few days ago. Ahhh, now to relive those Dreamcast memories...

Drakengard 2 dropped to $19.99 new at GR this week for anyone that is interested in picking that up.

Oh and Tube Slider (GC) slid from $12 in trade to $9.50 in trade.

Couldn't it have changed today?

You are a lucky man. I wish my GR would get a Lite. :bomb: They don't even have New Super Mario Bros. in stock.

:whistle2:k Okay, dilemma here. Need feedback by fellow CAGs, please! Here's the situation:

Blockbuster/Gamerush:
Got trade quotes for (mods can update CAGWiki):
$12.50 PSP - Death, Jr.
$03.00 PSP - Lumines
$07.00 PSP - Virtua Tennis
$10.00 PSP - Wipeout Pure
$12.50 PSP - Ape Escape: On the Loose
------
$45.00* TOTAL

*So, I need 1 more PSP game to qualify for the extra $5 each game so that would be an extra $30 (6 games x $5) plus credit of that "1 more PSP game." That would mean:
$75.00 ($45.00quote + $30extra) + credit of "1 more PSP game"

-OR-

GameStop:
Got trade quotes for (mods can update CAGWiki):
$08.80 PSP - Death, Jr.
$08.80 PSP - Lumines
$06.60 PSP - Virtua Tennis
$05.50 PSP - Wipeout Pure
$07.70 PSP - Ape Escape: On the Loose
------
$37.40* TOTAL

*So, these prices include the 10% bonus for the gamer card and so I need 1 more PSP game to qualify for the "Trade 3 get $10.00" so that would be an extra $20 (2 sets of 3 games x $10) plus credit of that "1 more PSP game." That would mean:
$57.50 ($37.50quote + $20 extra) + (1.10 x credit of the "1 more PSP game")

:whistle2:k Not sure what to do here... get $75+ of Gamerush credit or $57.50+ of EB credit...? Or is it a no-brainer?:whistle2:k

Do the bonuses matter if it's a mix and match of different consoles? For example, would 1 Xbox game and 2 PS2 games qualify for the Trade 3 get extra $5? Or would it only qualify if it's 3 games from the same console?

Final comment, I wasn't able to get a printed trade quote from the 2 GameStops I stopped by in (trying to get GR to match the Lumines PSP trade-in value).

If you made it this far, thanks for reading!!!

FYI, you don't need multiples of 3 for GR trades. Just 3 or more. So if you don't have a sixth game to trade, take the GR trade. Unless the GR credit is marginally better than EB, I take the bigger number. GR isn't totally worthless, and there is still a good opportunity for you to grab some clearance games and push that credit right back over to EB and then some.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II $7.50

yea.... i want that one.

and if there are multiple copies let me know.
peace.
I would take the $75 in GR credit, and maybe you could even turn that ito $75+ credit at EB/GS.
DEFINITELY do that. If you buy enough $5 games, you transfer your $75 of GR to $75+ at EB. I was skeptical, but I did it today and it worked perfectly.

Me too, as long as it is complete.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I build up credit I am always tempted to grab a 360. Right now I have the credit set aside for a Wii and a few games, but once again the store near me had 360 todays and its hard to walk pass them.

360 > Wii > PS3.

Do it .

You'll get to play it immediately .
You won't have to worry about weeding through the launch titles to find something you like , like you would if you bought a Wii .
Which you'll still be able to get later .

I don't know about that. The 360 is $400 (I figure in cash cost that is about $170) plus another $25 for a game ($60, cash cost $25 or so) - so $195 in real money to pick up a 360 and a game at GR. I STILL don't think it is worth that much to play Oblivion, which is the only 360 game I have any interest in. It is hard to keep the credit sitting there unused, but you must practice patience... I might be able to get into some of the other games, but I have such an *enormous* backlog of PS2/GC/DS/PSP games that I have absolutely no need to acquire another system just yet. In fact, I kind of wish they wouldn't come out till mid-2007.

At the same time, I'm having a hard time justifying spending around $280 for a PS3 + game, since there isn't a launch title for that system I'm interested in either. I will reserve one for sure, and sell it if the market is there and keep it if not, and just hope it doesn't explode before a good game comes out :D.

The Wii, on the other hand, will have games I want at launch. I'm not sure WHICH yet, but some of that first group: Zelda, Metroid, Elebits, Wii Sports, etc have to be worth getting at first. Sure, the Wii version of Zelda might not be much of a difference over the GC one (and some of the control changes might actually be annoying), but at least it is fairly sure to be a good game. I already have that preordered at GR (along with 2 copies of the GC one from over a year ago ).

So I popped into GR tonight, only to be greeted by the worst new employee they have along with some even newer guy I've never seen before (who was OK, just not familiar). I scrounged through the stacks and uncovered a few clearance games like World Poker Tour - just wish I had found that before it dropped at EB, but it is still decent. I had them scan a bunch of other games that were clearanced on one platform but apparently not others (SC II clearanced on Xbox but NOT on GC, Urbz clearanced on Xbox but not on PS2, etc).

And NO Valkyrie Profile Lenneth in, though to be fair, I didn't see it at CC, Best Buy, and EB didn't call me to tell me my preorder there was in yet. Of course, new guy tells me the street date is Friday :wall:.

I did make out like a bandit at EB tonight though (see my post in that thread if you are interested)...

Yeah I am holding out for the Wii, the only reason the 360 is so tempting is a few new games hitting. Ninety Nine Knights & Dead Men Rising both look like titles I could really get into. To date COD 2 is the only one that really tempted me. When it comes down to it your talking quite a bit of credit burned between a few games, 360, controller, xbox live, etc...

If I built up more credit in the next few months I could see myself grabbing a Wii and 360.

Which system are you guys talking about? The only Poker game I could find at GR last night that came up on sale was "World Poker Tour" for Xbox. I tried all the other variations for Xbox/PS2 and no others were on sale (World Championship Poker, etc). I didn't see a "World Tour Poker".

Looking on Metacritic I don't see a game called "World Tour Poker" either. Maybe this was just a difference in system and EB/GS has it listed differently for the 2 systems (PS2 vs Xbox)? I'll report what my "World Poker Tour" for Xbox gets later.

I could use some advice (io, I'm talking to you;)). I'm wanting to get Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil at EB/GS. I'm sitting on a lot of GR credit right now. What are some games w/good flip potential at the moment? I tried looking over the last couple of pages but these GR threads just blow up sometimes. Besides the OTT's, I think these are the fasting growing threads. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My personal favorites are Baten Kaitos, Metroid Prime 2, Mega Man Anniversary Collection and the Clancy Triple Pack. With those 6 bought with $20 in GR credit, you'll get $40 in EB credit.

The town park location has quite a bit of clearance mixed in still. Metroid Prime 2 is the best game they have left for moving credit. The gamecube section still had the most clearance as of yesterday, grab games off the list with clearance prices under $5. As of yesterday they had killer 7, metroid 2, several LOTR, Def Jam Fight for NY, and Timesplitters. They also have some nice games behind the counter. I think MK Premium PS2 is gone now, but there are several up there for $5...
Thanks.
Yeah, botticus and kjuaburn pretty much got you covered. I'd add in Silent Hill 4 (PS2), Devil May Cry 2, GoldenEye for GC or DS, Polar Express for GC or PS2, and The Sims for PS2. Of course, all of these (and the ones the other guys mentioned) are long gone at my GR. I'm pretty much using stuff like NFSU (Xbox), Test Drive (Xbox), and DBZ (PS2), etc, that don't get much but are at least break even with the bonus.

Those last games can be found at regular BB's too - though I've found that only 1 in 3 regular BB's has any new games at all. Nearly ALL of them have accessories though - and especially that Justice League GC controller 2-pack. Costs $5, and you will get ast least $4.40 in EB credit - more if you get lucky like I did yesterday and have them enter it as what must have been a first party controller (got $5.50 for one).

All my GR has left are a ton of different NCAA Footballs, Maddens, Jampacks, Backyard Wrestling, the Tecmo Xbox game, maybe one NBA Street Vol 2, a DBZ Budokai, and what I think are Mortal Kombat Deception hints/tips discs (for whatever reason they have several of these). I went through the regular stacks yesterday, too, and all I could find hidden in there was one World Poker Tour and a SRS, which probably isn't even worth the trouble.

Oh, I got a couple of trade quotes for $5 (after coupon) Best Buy games I saw today:
PS2 Rugby 2005 - $2.50
PS2 Puzzle Challenge - $2.50

So neither are worth it, unless you are looking for a game to fill out your 3 trades.
Trade-in prices today:
Driver: Parallel Lines (PS2)-$16

Unbelievable - they have them clearly marked at $19.99 new at my GR. There are still more at my CC too, but I must... resist...

I couldn't believe it either, the WIKI says the Xbox version is getting $6. I saw them at CC and called GR to check on it. It was the first time I've found Combat Elite at my CC's. Sounds like it's time to check my other CC's.

Wow I don't believe it! Was wondering if these held another week. I wonder if CE PS2 is $12 as well.

Here's my values today: PSP-Ridge Racer $2.50 Namco Battle Mueseum $12.5o
Street Fighter Alpha 3 $18.00 Xbox-Moto GP3 $1 PS2-Flow Urban Dance $2.50.

Sorry to see Flow drop down. It was a good credit builder for me. All these values are before bonus.

Yeah I am done with the current CC credit builders as well. I did another 3 of Driver, Flatout, Combat Elite, and Nightmare last week. At this point I don't really need more credit and would be pushing my luck...

I just got off the phone with 2 of my GRs and neither of them have any DS Lites in stock, and they said they don't have any on order either. They don't even have New Super Mario Bros. in for me to play on my crappy old DS Fat.

Thanks CAG for providing the CAGWiki and the editors who keep it up to date!!! :D

Thanks also to the CAGs :)applause: specifically, aoLat and botticus and TsuyoiMomonga :applause:) who helped me make the no-brainer :dunce: decision of trading my PSP games in at Gamerush and taking the credit there. I got $70 with the bonus for those PSP games and I was able to find snag these $5.00 clearance games today:

XBOX Scooby-Doo! Unmasked
XBOX World Poker Tour x2
PS2 Sly Cooper
GCN Scooby-Doo! Unmasked
GCN Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
GCN Spongebob Squarepants The Movie (x2)

Still with another $26.00 left after the PSP games trade-in. I have another Metroid Prime 2 Echoes so that makes 9 total games.

Is the EB/GS trade-in deal a mix-n-match (any combination of 3 qualifying console games) or is it supposed to be 3 XBOX or 3 PS2 or 3 GCN or 3 PSP?

Thanks again CAG... can't thank you guys enough!!!

No problem buddy.

I got thanked! :D

Found an interesting trade value today:

NCAA Football 2005 (Xbox) - $10

It won't work for the extra $5 deal though because the used price is $9.99 so the computer won't let them give you anymore. It's $2.99 at EB/GR.

Buyback is $10 but sell a 2 year old game for $9.99 which will probably sit on the shelves... great going Blockbuster/Gamerush....:whistle2:s nice find shipwreck!:applause:

Anyone in the southeast should check out Rhino. With the latest price drops in there clearance sale today there are quite a few games for $2.50-$4.50 that would be good trade fodder for GR. Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers xbox is one that comes to mind. We don't have a recent wiki price($30 April), but its only $4.50. At this point i rather hold onto my Rhino credit then flipping it for more GR credit, even if its $3-$4 for every $1...

Edit: FYI for anyone in the southeast again. There are a few GR clearance games qualifying for the trade 2 get 1 free at Rhino. You can turn $15-$20 in GR credit for a new $50 game at Rhino. Here is the thread.

Ha ha, no problem man. It'll be a mix-and-match. Oh, and it may be YMMD, but my EB wouldn't let me trade in more than one copy of a game at a time, so I brought a friend to help trade in the ones I had multiples of.

... That's what I do when I see people still snagging all these good games at GR. What, no one shops where you live (or no one lives where you shop)?? Mine was good for a few days and then got wiped (nearly) clean within a week.

And don't thank aoLat, it will only encourage him...

Well, since I don't have a smorgasbord of clearance titles to choose from like the rest of you, I'm getting creative. I found a new Final Fantasy X-2 at my local BB tagged $14.99. I figured with the $9 base + bonus that was a good credit transfer (about equal if I can do it with the preorder bonus). It rang up $17.99 but they adjusted it down to the tagged price. Now I'm wondering what it sells for used - might be a good transfer that way as well. It is really too bad this EB deal didn't happen when GR had a Buy 2 Get 1 free on used games.

Oh, and I called about Valkyrie Profile Lenneth again today - got a newbie who instantly started checking the computer (damn you, TURN AROUND and look at the shelf behind you!) - "sorry sir, it looks like we'll get that tomorrow" (that would be Friday) :wall:. The thing is, if they haven't already gotten it, it is likely they either are never getting it, or it will be (even more) late - it is highly unlikely it will ACTUALLY arrive for sale on the rental date of Friday . Meanwhile, my EB one hasn't come in yet either - very strange.

IO gave the GR to EB credit move 1 more shot today and found a store. Basically after striking out twice I called around and found a local store. They knew all about the trade 3 get $10 and would do the edge bonus. So I turned about $55 in GR credit to close to $103 eb thanks to a few gems like splitting up a MK Depection KE, $8.33 + $9.33 + 10% edge for $5 GR credit. I purchased a edge card with the credit during the trade in transaction to get the 10%. For once I found a EB employee who knew the drill. Anyways I plan on picking up another batch to take over tomorrow.

On a similar note, the Wiki still lists Xbox Conflict Vietnam as getting a $10 trade value as of 7/2, with a note that a price drop is expected. Anyone know if it DID drop in value? If it didn't, it could be a decent credit builder as it is $2 at KMart and $3.96 at Circuit City.

I think it DID drop to $1.50 or $2.50 last time I traded in (07/08)
