Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

umm, my local BB already had 1/2 off all preplayed movies and games. i got test drive unlimited for $12, nhl 2k7 for $9.98 and phantasy star universe for $12.

Still no systems today....oh well. I think I may just wait until they get a PS3 now. Which, I may be waiting until next year sometime....oh well. I figure I would use the PS3 more than a Wii. Although, if they get Wii's, I may bite....we'll see. I can probably turn it into cash quicker and get a PS3 at a bigger store.


So, is the 25% off USED starting this week? rumors are floating in other threads.

and i forgot to mention that those were xbox 360 games. They were stickered at $24; $19.99; $24. I figured those were cheapass enough but then at the register I found out it's half off the stickered price. I was amazed at my find.

Whoa....I may have to check for a PS3 tomorrow...I highly doubt it, but it would be nice. I know the one store said they probably wouldn't get any at launch, so I'm going to assume only these "high traffic" stores would get the PS3/Wii.

Good news on the 25% off. I would like some PSP games.

Yep, used PSP games are definitely a great deal during this sale since GR seems to have lower used prices on these to begin with.

Thats...odd. They usually only do this to new games (convert new games to rentals) not used games. Wonder why? Maybe because PS3/Wii/360 are backwards compatiable there is more interest? Could be the Rent 2 Past Gen games for $10?

And in regards for them pulling some of the used games and turning them back into rentals, the list actually had some DS and GBA games on it before corporate realized that they no longer rent games for those systems. :lol:
 
As I work at Gamerush I hope we get in some PS3s today. I am working as well when our shipments normally come in :) I am just wondering how some Gamerushes know they are getting shipments? The store manager where I work has no idea what we are getting in when we get shipments. I might have do some digging and look for an incoming shipment list.

If you get any, it will probably be tomorrow, not today. I'll confirm tomorrow if they actually get one in at my local GR though. And I have no idea what actually shows what they will be receiving or I'd help you out there.

A no go at my Gamerush. The guy wouldn't apply the discount until tomorrow.

Best to call before you go. Luckily mine is about 2 minutes away.

You think they would at least include Xbox 360... every local Gamerush, the last time I went in, is sitting on PILES of used 360 games because they display them in the locked cases with no price tags, so nobody buys them.

What do you mean? Even my pathetic GR had 2 copies of each one for sale (new, of course). I don't think they've ever had it used if that's what you mean.

Hell, if they could afford to ship 2 copies of that game to my location (game + guitar that is) they could send some Wii games out - the whole shipping charges argument seems moot in that case.

Yeah, my GR has Guitar Hero also (although NEW).

I hope I'm lucky enough to land a PS3 tomorrow...but I cannot check until lunch (11ish). Oh well...we will see. Maybe I'll get some PSP games while I'm there.
 
Gamerush sells Guitar Hero used...but I don't think they sell the guitar used. I saw around 3-4 copies at of the game used at a local GR but no guitars. I asked the guy that worked there and he said he didn't think they took the guitar in trade, which would go in line with their silly policy to not take third party controllers in trade anymore.

wow i will have to go in tomorrow to GR. I havent been to GR is at least 6 months, will be interesting to see if they have the same employees heh
 
At my local Blockbuster I was able to pick up Phantasy Star Universe (360) for $12, NHL 2k7 (360) for $9.98, and Test Drive Unlimited (360) for $12. The store was doing 1/2 off all preplayed games and movies. They even had signs on the outside and inside of the store. I wonder why they were doing 1/2 off? Not to mention, I think their prices were a little cheap to begin with.

Your store is without a doubt a franchise location. Check your receipt, it should say something about being a "franchisee" or something to that effect. This means that they do not have to follow the national Blockbuster promotions and can price things and have sales as they see fit. Sometimes that leads to excellent deals as you have shown, sometimes it means you miss out on nationwide promos.
 
So, what time does Blockbuster/GR open? (NEVERMIND....10am) I may have to call and see if they got any PS3's in. Would the shipment already be there?

The GameRushes I go to usually get their shipments from 11AM to 1 PM, so I don't think calling when they open would really help your chances.
 
Just got off the phone with GR. They told me that they do not know if they have any on order, but they will be getting some before Christmas. Anyone else have any luck or get more information?

I got a little more information that is pretty much just FYI. The reason they can tell how many PS3's are coming in is because those are directly shipped to the individual stores. The Wii's on the other hand are shipped from Blockbuster's distribution centers to the stores.
 
Well, the guy had NO CLUE about PS3's. I was there after they got a shipment of "stuff", but no PS3. Has was kinda a dick about it also....I may try another one, but we'll see....

I went after 11:00am also....no signs for 25% off either.
 
My local (non-GR) Blockbuster has the 25% off signs up - same old ones they've had before. Saw a copy of Mario Power Tennis there - have you guys seen what those go for on ebay these days? Amazing... I might go back and get it if it's in good condition.

And Dracula, the sale would definitely include DS and PSP games. My local BB had some PSP games right on the endcap with the 25% off sign even.

I just got back from work today. We got a notice, at least in Michigan, that the 25% off used games now includes X360 games, so if you are in Michigan have fun with some good deals probably. Oh and employees get 30% off for the next week. /cheer!

Yes, it is very wierd, I had read it somewhere else on CAG as I would never have suspected it. But now that I think about it I haven't seen a new copy of this in ages.

Spamfree - you ought to ebay that sealed copy as they are going for well over retail ($60 and up). That will probably only last through Christmas. And you know this will be a PC title soon enough (either of the $20 or $30 variety) so you can always get it again later. I seriously doubt Nintendo would just let this go out of print. Having said that, I'm not going to sell my (opened but mint) copy with the hope of getting one later (even though I haven't played it in ages). However, I might pick up that copy at BB ($34.99 before discount). Hopefully it isn't a former rental copy.
 
Mario Tennis was always rare... they have always been at very close to near retail for the last year now.

I remember getting them at the Sears clearance months ago for $25 and Ebaying them for $45 - $50 easily.

OK that is good news about the DS and psp games. i went in today and they said to expent a shipment of ps3 sometime in february. This was just coming from a cashier, as there was no other employee in the store(west LA gamerush on national and barrington)
 
Did anyone score a PS3 or Wii at Gamerush today? I stopped by the one just down the street from my house. They told me they hoped to get Wii in by Christmas and PS3's in January.

I saw trhe 25% off signs all over the place but didn't have time to dig through the used games.
 
360 Games on sale!!!! Pity most of them are so overpriced. On the goodnews front, I finally got my PSP Gran Turismo credited back to my account after it fell off due to the 12 month issue, so I used the credit to buy a couple of 25% off games.

Ah, yeah, I remembered to clear that one off several months ago ;). I better check on some more though - I think I may have a few year-old ones coming up just after the New Year. Did they ever fix this problem or just handle it in a half-assed fashion in each individual case?
 
I did not see ANY signs for 25% off in MI stores (I went to two yesterday). HOWEVER, the one store said they would get 4 PS3's in, and she is going to SAVE one for me....I love my GameRush. Hopefully I get it this week.
 
Okay, well it seems the 25% off promotion isn't smart enough to exclude any games, so it is strictly up to the store/employee that you go to on whether you get 25% off used X360, PS3, and Wii games.
