Just looking for trade-in prices? Well, check out what's been reported:
GameRush Trade-In Prices Wiki
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

50% Off Sale

Edit: It looks as though more games are being added to the 50% off list on 3/25/07. Here's what jaybsooner is reporting:
Hey guys, just a head's up. Went to my local Gamerush today (03/24/07), noticed they had put a ton of the NEW games they had for sale on a side counter. The manager told me they were being added to the 50% off sale. These were new additions to the previous sale. He let me look at the list he had for his store of the pulled games. PS2, XBOX, PSP, Gamecube, and 360 were on the list, the majority of the list (about half) was original XBOX, with about 20% PS2, rest a mix of 360, Gamecube, and PSP.

Can't recite the list verbatim, but you may want to check with your local game rush, I believe the actual list may vary from store to store, based what they have in inventory.

If you want, post what titles you are interested in and I will do my best to recall if it was included on the list, but I would suggest going to you local Gamerush and scout it out today!!
The prices will be listed on the price drop reports as 1 cent drops making the game prices end in .98. The 50% will be automatically deducted when the employee hits the Total button. It's very unlikely that there is any signage or changes in prices actually displayed at the stores yet.

Okay, details are still rolling in and we don't have a full list yet, but we're getting there.

FAQ (Read before you ask a question.)

Q: Are used games included?
A: No, this is only for new games.

Q: Is this sale going on at normal Blockbusters?
A: Yes, as long as it is not a franchise Blockbuster. Most Blockbusters are not franchise locations. Call your local store and ask if they are a corporate or a franchise store if you are unsure or check a past receipt to see if it says "Blockbuster Franchisee".

Q: The games are scanning at full price, is this sale for real?
A: You won't get the discount until the employee hits "Total" on the register.

Q: Do Blockbuster gift cards work at Gamerush?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this going on nationwide?
A: Yes, but see details on franchise locations above.

Q: My blockbuster employees say they don't know anything about the sale, is this sale real or happening in my area?
A: It's a good thing that they don't know and see above franchise locations information.

Q: If I ask something that is clearly laid out here in the OP, will shipwreck make fun of me?
A: Probably.

(All prices are after the 50% off discount.)
As far as I was told, it is on new games only, and is 50% off the marked price. The list was also laying on the back counter and I perused it. The list of games are for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, PSP, and Xbox360. There are no DS games.

I wrote down the Xbox360 games since I thought those would be the most interesting. There were not many PSP games and the ones on the list were not very exciting. So without further ado, the Entire Xbox360 50% Off GameRush Listing:

System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.

Unplugged Arcade (XBOX 360) $10

I wonder how much is Suikoden 5 (PS2) ??
So Unplugged Arcade is $10 and not $15? Maybe I will get it after all (wasn't originally because I already have Geometry Wars).

No, it is $15. Either he mistyped or they had it tagged wrong at his store and overrode the price. The automatic price is $29.98 - $14.99 = $14.99. That is, UNLESS they just dropped the regular price to $19.98 in the last few days, making it $10 after discount. That is always a possibilty, in which case I'd like to know soon because I could probably return/rebuy mine when I'm in there this week.

Honestly, It rangup (2X) $19.98 - $10 = $9.98 + $0.78 taxes. Well, i kinda happy to get it for $10. In the return i paid $15 for Legend of Heroes. It should be $10 right ??

There is no Gamerush around me
But if someone picked up Fatal Frame III(ps2, $15) and/or Fable : The Lost Chapters(Xbox, $10) extras, would they be willing to sell?

Does this list include the games from last summer's 50/75% off?

I looked through the old Gamerush threads front page and didn't see anything. I don't want to bring up a game and find out that it is normal price after the employee hits total. For some reason there aren't any blue dots like before on the selected titles at my Gamerush, thanks ahead!
Lots Metroid Prime (PC & Non-Player Choice) for $5 after 50% off.
bah none of the stores here have that game
what sucks is i used to own that game but i have no idea wth my brother did to it...

no it doesnt include old clearance items. the old clearance items will never be in store again, unless distribution sends a random one(unlikely).

and if its full price when they ring up, uh, dont buy it. when they price check it, make sure they check the price is xx.98 or some other weird price like 50.64 or something. those are the clearance items.

i hid a bunch of stuff for the 75% part of the sale. i couldn't find any info about when the 75% will take place.

i recently repriced a used live arcade at 14.99.
I've noticed a new stock of Sandisk 1 gig PSP Pro Duos at the local Gamerush stores, marked $59.99. These look identical to the ones that were clearanced out at $15 (75% off) last summer. Why would they restock these things, especially at that crazy price? They're locked up in the cases at both stores I've seen them at, but I may have them price check them for me to see if they actually ring up at $60 or if they are ringing up at the $15 clearance price from last year. $15 is an okay price for a 1 gig Sandisk stick...that's what Best Buy, Circuit City, and several other stores were selling them for on Black Friday.
these arent the same mem sticks. the clearance sticks last time only went up to 512MB.

(multiquote is your friend mirite?)

I'd buy N3 or almost (not Dead Rising) any other 360 game that I don't have and they have on sale if anyone wants to pick them up. PM me if you're willing to do this or have 360 games for sale.
i recently repriced a used live arcade at 14.99.
Ok, then, looks like a price drop. Wierd that they would drop that half way through the sale when they RAISED other items at the start of it (Enchanted Arms for one). Are you implying in your other post that there are 75% items that aren't part of the current 50% sale?? If so, it is going to be tough to watch this thread in the next several weeks .

Oh well, it is the ultimate cheap-ass thing to do, but I'm going to bring my Arcade Unplugged back in and get the $5 back. That is, if they are even able to do return/repurchase type things at this point. I figure if nothing else, all the employees there won't give a rats ass any more since they are either out of a job the end of this week or shipped off to an inferior (and downgraded) BB store...

Once again, keep me in mind for the 75% sale, *especially* if it includes new things. I can build up some credit at my local BB and send value cards (above and beyond your cost of course) in exchange ;).

no i just hid stuff for when 75% starts so i can get it for cheaper. nice perk. and really we don't have much left that i havent already hidden. : )

to be honest my GR had so much of the clearance stuff, but we sold it all. we dont have nearly as many games as, say, 2 years ago. GR is mostly ignored now, especially when they got rid of the Game Advisor position. man, we used to count presales and trades. now its onlineonlineonlineonlineonlinerewards.

lol i need a new job maybe
no i just hid stuff for when 75% starts so i can get it for cheaper. nice perk. and really we don't have much left that i havent already hidden. : )
Duh... Just reread your post. Now I see that you said "hid". I read it the first time as you having gotten a list of things at 75% off. Never mind.. Carry on...

Is it normal for a Blockbuster not to have new PSP, or for that matter, DS or GBA games for sale? All I see at the store nearby are preowned handheld games.
Is it normal for a Blockbuster not to have new PSP, or for that matter, DS or GBA games for sale? All I see at the store nearby are preowned handheld games.
Well, is it just a regular Blockbuster or a Blockbuster with a Gamerush? I've never seen a regular BB carry any new handheld games, and the ones near me don't sell ANY new games at all any more. But if it is a GR it should have plenty of handheld games - especially PSP (DS section is somewhat sparse at my store).

I noticed at my local store the other day that they have 4 used GBA games - all traded in by me a year or more ago . However, the copy of Ping Pals that I traded there is GONE, which must have meant it sold. Score one for Blockbuster ;).

I'm telling you, though, I fully expect to go in there one day with trades and have them tell me they don't do game trading any more. My trading will probably be pretty sporadic (only the occasional high-profit trade) so I probably won't go in more than once every couple of months.

Hey guys, just to let you know, those Live Arcade Unplugged games trade in for $20 at Gamecrazy. Plus you can open them up and take out the 1 month Live cards before you trade in the games. Gotta love gamecrazy, and gamerush too!

Hah - That would be great if my GR had any more. They had 2 and I traded one to another CAG and want to keep one for myself. Oh well... I'm taking mine back in to get adjusted today. Wish me luck ;).
It is a regular Blockbuster, so I guess it is isn't really surprising. GameRush is in the southern parts of the US i assume? Or maybe west?
Hah - if only in the West (to more of a degree than they are). They seem to be all over the South and Midwest. Not so much East Coast above South Carolina and not West coast above the LA area or inland as far north as Fresno (except for my one lonely store near Portland which is closing in 5 days).

OK, about Arcade Unplugged. It is now ringing up $19.99 BUT NO LONGER ON SALE! I'm sure many people will be able to get it for $10 because it is sitting in the clearance bins marked 50% off. However, it seems they removed it from the auto-clearance list as it is ringing up at $19.99 (and not $19.98 which would indicate it is on clearance).

As a result, there was nothing they could do for me at my GR as that is more than I paid for it (which was $15 when it was $30 and then half off).

If those of you who bought it and got it for $10 could look at your receipt I'd appreciate it. Is it really showing "$19.99", or is it $19.98 with an auto "coupon" for $10 off? Or did they manually adjust it? They didn't ring through the entire transaction for me today, but a guy who knows his stuff was helping me and he said it was $19.99 (not $19.98 - I made sure) and not on clearance in their system any more.

No news about any (additional, store-closing) clearance. They still have all their game stock and are now selling the rental DVDs. They think they might get notice in a few days to clearance out the guides and such. Problem is, they will only be open a day or two more by the time this happens. It had better be a damn nice clearance if they actually want to unload anything in such a short time!

hello,

just wondering if anyone in the LA area having trouble using credit from value cards to buy game consoles? Is it by store only?
hello,

a couple of months ago in this thread ppl were mentioning stores near LA that weren't allowing console purchases w/ credit

however, i was able to get a ps3 with value cards at a gamerush on sepulveda with no problems.. so i think it just depends on the store and employee working at the time

One more note:

Samurai Champloo still trades for $19. Get 'em in soon, though. It is down to $6 at GC and $5 at EB. I assume some sort of universal drop is forthcoming.
Anybody know if that Gun Club game for the PS2 is lightgun compatible ?
I checked the back of the box and it didn't say anything about it. I take that to mean no. Which is a shame because I'll play any game that is lightgun compatible.
these arent the same mem sticks. the clearance sticks last time only went up to 512MB.

(multiquote is your friend mirite?)
No, the clearance sticks went up to 1 gig, they were transluscent green Sandisk sticks...I bought 3 or 4 of them last summer and still have one of them, so I should know. Not all stores had the 1 gig sticks in stock though...and their original retail was something like $99...but they were reduced to $60, then 50% off $60, then 75% off $60 or $15. This was reported extensively by myself and others in the Gamerush clearance thread last summer. The new $60 1 gig sticks are identical to the old batch as far as I can tell.

Hmm...I guess I should take in my 1 copy I have left...it's been on my trade list for months now with no interest.

Yeah, I got one at the 50% off $60 price - though I thought it was $79.99 and then half off? I'm surprised you found any at 75% off!

Yeah, looked through my receipts - it was $39.99 after discount at 50% off. Unless this is something that had a price drop halfway through the sale and I somehow missed it. I think I bought it pretty close to the beginning of 50% off as I thought they'd be gone in a heartbeat. At the time, $20 (in real money) for a 1GB was a pretty good price. Now, not so much, especially considering that I've probably played my PSP a total of 40-50 hours since then and have not made use of the higher capacity in any way whatsoever .

Can anyone else verify that Arcade Unplugged is ringing up $19.99 and thus not on sale any more as my store told me? (I realize you may still have gotten it for $10 as it was probably still in the clearance section - but was that a manual adjustment or the auto "coupon" deal?).

Well, it appears that Arcade Unplugged had a universal price drop everywhere, so it looks like the new price drop overwrote the old one and caused it to no longer be on clearance.

OK, if anyone can verify that at GR then I'd know I'm not getting BS'd by the guys there (not that I would expect them to, but who knows). If so, consider it highly YMMV if you can get it for $10. Oh well, $15 in GR credit is a damn good price so I'll just stick with that ;).

That also explains why the Costco bundle went down $15 from a week or two ago (was $475, now $460 - includes wireless controller, plug-n-play, and Arcade Unplugged).

Yes, It rangup $19.98 unless they hit the TOTAL and it knock down $9.98 plux taxes.

Well, I dunno then. Either they were BSing me (they said it was $19.99 and not $19.98) or it got adjusted maybe just this last weekend and has been removed from clearance - so perhaps it was $19.98 (and thus $10) just last week, and is $19.99 and not on clearance this week.

I cant find this anywhere for $5. Everywheres telling me like $17 to $19.
Nonono... io meant that it TRADES IN for $5 or $6 credit at EB/GS.
Exactly - except that it was $5 from Best Buy online if you got in on that deal a week or so ago ;). It trades for only $5 at EB/GS and only $6 at GC (where it was $18 a few weeks ago).

One more GR->GC trade xfer game. Hulk UD for Xbox $7.50 at GR -> $7.70 at GC with MVP.

I called my GR today to see if there were any markdowns for the closing. They have heard nothing yet from corporate. They are clearly running out of time to sell anything before they close Sunday. I have a feeling corporate will never tell them to mark anything down and it will all be sitting there when the store closes for good. They'll probably ship off the games and dump the guides in the dumpser or something, without even a heads up to me. Note that this is different than pennied out guides at Best Buy or TRU that must be destroyed - I'm sure BB will simply forget about these and write them off but yet not provide their loyal customers with any way to obtain them. I'd buy several that they have for $5 each (like FF XII and Rogue Galaxy) if they thought ahead enough to offer them. Stupid, stupid, stupid BB...

Had they thought ahead to having a true store closing clearance on games, accessories, guides and put a small amount of effort into advertizing it I'm sure they could have liquidated a bunch of it and gotten a nice cash infusion as a result of this store closing. But no, they will either toss it or ship it off at great expense to some other store where it will sit until it is finally clearanced out or destroyed. :bomb:

Well, the latest word at my GR store (which has its last day tomorrow - Sun) is that the games are being sent back to corporate and the guides are being destroyed. So that's that... Way to go Blockbuster on getting some money from all that stock. I was eager and ready to buy (would have bought a lot of games and guides at 50% off and even more at 75% off).

Interesting note - they said the guides are destroyed every 60 days anyway. Wierd that we've never heard of anyone getting tossed away guides from a GR before. I guess they are strict about destroying them. Oh well...

its cause they usually throw them in the dumpster, or tear the covers
its cause they usually throw them in the dumpster, or tear the covers
But I guess unlike most other places they aren't "pennied out" first. I've never heard of anyone getting a guide for a penny at GR anyway. It would be nice, as even the regular Blockbusters still carry guides. My local store has no new games, but they have a stack of Rogue Galaxy and FF XII guides. As far as I can tell, no one has bought a single one .

Halo 3 Legendary Edition still shows as $100 at GR. Probably will change soon to $130, so better act fast if interested.

It actually did have a price drop during the clearance sale or it was YMMV. I remember people paying $20 and people paying $15. I paid $15 and mine still have the original $60 Gamerush price tags on them. The reason I was able to buy 4 of them is that the Gamerush stores around here had them locked up in the case and marked at $60. At the time it was a very good price for a 1 gig stick. Now it's a mediocre price, as I have bought them at Best Buy and Circuit City on sale for that price as well.
