Just looking for trade-in prices? Well, check out what's been reported:
GameRush Trade-In Prices Wiki
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

50% Off Sale

Edit: It looks as though more games are being added to the 50% off list on 3/25/07. Here's what jaybsooner is reporting:
Hey guys, just a head's up. Went to my local Gamerush today (03/24/07), noticed they had put a ton of the NEW games they had for sale on a side counter. The manager told me they were being added to the 50% off sale. These were new additions to the previous sale. He let me look at the list he had for his store of the pulled games. PS2, XBOX, PSP, Gamecube, and 360 were on the list, the majority of the list (about half) was original XBOX, with about 20% PS2, rest a mix of 360, Gamecube, and PSP.

Can't recite the list verbatim, but you may want to check with your local game rush, I believe the actual list may vary from store to store, based what they have in inventory.

If you want, post what titles you are interested in and I will do my best to recall if it was included on the list, but I would suggest going to you local Gamerush and scout it out today!!
The prices will be listed on the price drop reports as 1 cent drops making the game prices end in .98. The 50% will be automatically deducted when the employee hits the Total button. It's very unlikely that there is any signage or changes in prices actually displayed at the stores yet.

Okay, details are still rolling in and we don't have a full list yet, but we're getting there.

FAQ (Read before you ask a question.)

Q: Are used games included?
A: No, this is only for new games.

Q: Is this sale going on at normal Blockbusters?
A: Yes, as long as it is not a franchise Blockbuster. Most Blockbusters are not franchise locations. Call your local store and ask if they are a corporate or a franchise store if you are unsure or check a past receipt to see if it says "Blockbuster Franchisee".

Q: The games are scanning at full price, is this sale for real?
A: You won't get the discount until the employee hits "Total" on the register.

Q: Do Blockbuster gift cards work at Gamerush?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this going on nationwide?
A: Yes, but see details on franchise locations above.

Q: My blockbuster employees say they don't know anything about the sale, is this sale real or happening in my area?
A: It's a good thing that they don't know and see above franchise locations information.

Q: If I ask something that is clearly laid out here in the OP, will shipwreck make fun of me?
A: Probably.

(All prices are after the 50% off discount.)
As far as I was told, it is on new games only, and is 50% off the marked price. The list was also laying on the back counter and I perused it. The list of games are for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, PSP, and Xbox360. There are no DS games.

I wrote down the Xbox360 games since I thought those would be the most interesting. There were not many PSP games and the ones on the list were not very exciting. So without further ado, the Entire Xbox360 50% Off GameRush Listing:

System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.

Yeah, I'm trying to transfer over to GameCrazy. GameRush's used selection is becoming a joke.

Agreed. And they seem to be getting even less new releases than they previously were getting.

I think I'm only going to do these kind of flips when GR actually has something I want in stock at the time of trade.

I'm assuming they will get mega titles in like GTA IV and Halo 3, so the credit will be useful for those at least. But I don't see any point in building up casual credit when nobody is trading anything in and they're not stocking most new games.

Thanks for the info about RRR and EA. I have a GR near me that actually gets quite a few new games in stock (along with accessories). They have about 4-5 Wiimotes, Nunchucks, and Old Skool Controllers, 360 accessories, and PS3 stuff as well. I'm just hoping they get Mass Effect and GTAIV Special Edition. Thanks again.

I can confirm PS3 Enchanted Arms currently (as of 7/7/07) gets $36 at GR.

Now WHY I did this is another matter. I guess I just couldn't resist turning $13.49 at GC into $36 at Blockbuster even if it is useless to me at the moment.

Unlike TMNT, used copies of Enchanted Arms seem to be pretty common at GC. I passed up several other copies.

Wow, I might have to try that, my GR has a lot of used games, and an OK selection of new ones still....thx for the tip

Hmm I was at GC and didn't see any used Enchanted arms. Ah well. I guess I officially switched teams to Gamecrazy this weekend, as I willingly traded in Xbox 360 DOA XVB2 there for $25, knowing that it could get $32 at Gamerush!

Well, I'll just ASSUME that GameRush gets the "high-profile" games and keep my credit for those. I still have to check out a Game Crazy though, as I always drive by the closest one to me...haven't been in it in years actually.

It was the same way for me for a long time. I thought GC was pretty useless (and it was when GR was more reliable). I started going to GC a bit more when GR stopped getting many of my preorders in and I'm glad I did as I was able to xfer some credit using the clearance sale before my GR shut its doors for good. Now I'm glad to be affiliated with a place where I can get all the games and accessories I want when they first come out. I still wish my GR was around, of course, as they would have been good for credit-building (would have liked to have been able to buy the B1G1 free $14.99 games from there for one thing).

Anyway, someone here needs to update us on the trade-in for Enchanted Arms over the next few days - let's see if BB keeps up with the price drop. I'll be out at a GC tonight but I don't want to buy one until the price is confirmed to be stable on Tues/Weds (no returns at GC for used games unless they are defective).

I figure I'm going to spend the $770 in credit I made in the past two weeks (found a local store that still gives an extra $5 for 3 or more) on DS Lites and resell them. Really, what else is there?

Elite 360's? They hold there MSRP pretty well.

Thanks, I was going to try and pick up an Enchanted Arms tomorrow, but forgot the price may drop like a brick. I only have $180 currently in GR credit....that's only 3 games (NCAA, Madden and GTA4 probably). Already have Halo3 paid off there.

*EDIT*

Anyone trade in TENCHU Z lately? Any prices?
Anyone know if GR followed suit and has $499 PS3s?
I called for to see if the price had dropped and the answer was no as of this afternoon. On a side note, I got a trade-in quote of $390 for the 20gb ps3 (mine will probably be going today)

Edit: I went ahead and traded in my 20gb for $390 this afternoon; I'll probably use the credit to pick up a 60gb w/ the free blu-rays

:applause:

Excellent play... $10 in GR credit to upgrade to a 60GB with the movies - most definitely worth it. IF your GR actually has these things . (Oh, and I suppose you live in one of those sales tax states, but still it is worth it).

Isn't that $110 in credit.

D'oh! You're right - I was thinking the PS3 was $400 now. Wishful thinking I guess ... Never mind, carry on... In that case it was an OK deal, but not great (depending on how you get that $110). I'm surprised though because GR was giving near the full value of the console not too long ago (which was also in the back of my mind when I posted late last night - wait, I'm still up and it is WAY too late to be coherent). I wonder what GR will do when they catch up with the price drop.

I called yesterday and they said they have the PS3 price drop to $499. I also dumped another enchanted arms for $38 after taxes. I'm gonna do another one today, so I'll let you guys know what the price is.

Walked into Blockbuster yesterday and was shocked that they finally got DiRT in (at least to rent). Guess they saw that the game sold like 500,000 copies in its first week and realized they should have gotten it in the first place.

Wonder if they'll get Project Sylpheed for 360 this week? Probably not.

It looks like GR/Blockbuster still has some-what decent trade-in prices for previous-generation games!

Musashi: Samurao Legend (ps2) - $7
Predator: Concrete Jungle (xbox) - $9.50
LA Rush (Xbox) - $6 (I know for a fact that they sell this for $15 or under  )

Picked up:

Transformers (Armada) (Ps2) - $13 (surprised it was still there!)
Onimusha 3: Demon Siege (ps2) - free!

Circus Maximus (Xbox) - $5
Constantine (Xbox) - free!
I can confirm PS3 Enchanted Arms currently (as of 7/7/07) gets $36 at GR.

Now WHY I did this is another matter. I guess I just couldn't resist turning $13.49 at GC into $36 at Blockbuster even if it is useless to me at the moment.
io is out of control! We gotta intervene before he starts building up a stash of useless credit again.

The credit is not entirely useless. Plus with the buy one get one he can transfer it back to GC credit (at a 1:1 ratio) if he can find a decent selection of used games to purchase.

Yeah, and if the price on Enchanted Arms holds through today and tomorrow (to be safe) I may pick up another at GC 8-[.

It isn't too useful in the short term (though as grecianfox says I should check out their last-gen stuff to see if I can find 1-to-1 trades at Gamecrazy - problem is that is a lot of work for not so much reward). But I am hoping some day to travel to some far-off land with a GR still in business. I'm not sure what I'll be able to GET when I'm there, but I'll be flush with credit for it in any case ;).
So has anyone confirmed if EA still trades in for $36 as of today?
Also, wondering about this. Also, I am wondering if DOA Xtreme 2 is still at 32. I'm $30 away from finally getting a DS Lite if I can find one that is not pink. It's just that I felt dirty even buying DOAX. But flipping it from 13 to 32 was well worth it. Also, I didn't see PS3 games in the wiki so I'll ask about PS3 NCAA2k7's trade value. I know it can't be a whole lot, but it's clearanced at CC with an additional 25% off which means 13. Then again I realize it's a sports game.
Also, I didn't see PS3 games in the wiki
Holy crap, you're right! I added a PS3 section with all of one game (Enchanted Arms) in it. I also updated other prices from the last page or two.

While we're at it, that PS3 Tony Hawk game got $36 a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if $36 is just their standard PS3 price? On that note, PS3 College hoops 2K7 is available for $12.72 at Circuit City this week, anyone check on that trade value?

My GameRush stores tend to be friendly, so I called around for some quotes regarding some of the above and some others I know can be had at a discount/deal. The below are valid as of about two minutes ago:

:ps3: College Hoops 2k7 - $22
:ps3: Enchanted Arms - $36
:360: Amped 3 - $22
:360: DOAXV2 - $32
:360: Transformers - $35

I think I'll be picking up some copies of EA to turn into a pink DS for my sister. I just found the 360 elite and am hoping to sell it for $450 on craigslist to pay for my car insurance lol.

There are some decent last gen games that can be used to transfer GR credit to GC credit at a 1:1 (or slightly better ratio). Rise of the Kasai is 9.99 at GR and trades at 6.60 w/MVP at GC. Incredible Hulk:UD is 9.99 as well and trades for 7.70 w/MVP. There is a large assortment of other games that trade in at 5.00 + w.mvp if you are looking to do a 1:1 transfer. Last week with a lot of effort I was able to convert 40.00 in CG credit to 94.50 in GR credit and then change it back to a little over $100.00 in GC credit. It can be done but requires a well stocked blockbuster used game section. There are other titles listed in the wiki that can be used.

This is actually a really good deal if you know how to use it. I EA from gamestop for $20 in credit then traded it to gamerush for $36 and got

Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast (XBOX) 14.99
.Hack vol. 3 Mutation Free

King of Fighters 2002/2003 (Xbox) 9.99
The guy Game (XBOX) Free

Gundam Seed Battle Assault (GBA) 6.99
King of Fighters 2000/2001 (PS2) Free

So I basically got everything for less than $20 and still have a lil gamerush credit left over, this is a really good deal

so I was at BB today trying to take advantage of the b1g1 deal. I saw a BUNCH of ps2 games behind the register counter. I asked if they were sale and all i got was a long pause then "we havent entered them into the computer yet". I tried again to see if they put them out today and they still havent. Anyone wanna show me the light in whats going on possibly?

GameRush is currently in a transition phase. Blockbuster realized its money is clearly in rentals since they've lost so much money with their caggable promotions. Lot of used games were pulled and shipped somewhere and trade in prices as well as MSRPs are frozen, since it seems Blockbuster no longer receives anything but "popular" games. If there's another drastic next gen drop, chances are it won't reflect in GR's system for a while.

I managed to get about 60 bucks in store credit trading in Enchanted Arms and College Hoops 2K7...however not one of the 3 GameRush stores in my area had Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I just went out and bough the darn game at Gamestop. Every GameRush in this area doesn't have jack. Their "new" section is pitiful. Is this happening to all GameRush stores? Did Blockbuster realize it was futile to compete with the uber Monopoly that is Gamestop and the plucky underdog that is GameCrazy?

Heh, should have read the forums more closely. The GR's in my area used to have new games...but I guess they've come upon hard times as of late. Eh I can probably snag some OK used games with the store credit...or just nab a Wiimote or Sixaxis. They should just take down all their coming soon signs...it's not like they'll get the games it seems.
Is there a particular day that the trade in values are updated at GR? I'm thinking about flipping a few copies of EA.
Generally Tuesdays.

Could you share the game list you bought from GR?

thanks

I'll see if I still have it laying around at home. If I can't find it, I basically looked at last gen (plus some DS/PSP) trade in values for GC from the wiki and chose ones that were in the 5-10 range that were recent quotes (after 6/1/2007). I then took my makeshift list to GR and selected 9.99 and 14.99 titles that were on the list. If you find the right selection you can convert at 1.3:1 or so (worked easy for me since the stores were not far apart). Even 1:1 was fine for me given the better selection of games at GC. It was more lucrative during the CG 50% extra deal as chronicled by io.

EA still at $36. Saw plenty of copies at Best Buy that I might swing for if it hold on until tomorrow. Four copies flipped is enough to cover a DS lite. Maybe my brother would like one too...

Is EA $20 new at all stores?

Appreciate your input, I will see if I can find some from GR.
