Gamerush deal starting 10/12

I work for Gamerush ( Blockbuster ) and my manager told me today that the new deals for the month are as follows:

Trade one used game, get any new game $29.99

Trade any game and get any new, 'Best of 2004 " game for 1/2 off.

The best of is apparently a listing of certain games, don't know which ones yet though. Both are killer deals.

Does not apply to preorders and ends the day before Halo 2 comes out :(

Yes you do. You get the credit of the game as well as a new game for $30. You do not get an extra $5 for your trade though.

The new deal takes $20 off a new game, right? So, if thats true then I could get Midway Arcade Treasures for tax and Kingdom Under Fire for 9.99, right? Hopefully that is the case, then I will use my lowest valued games for those 2.

Has anyone been able to do seperate trade-ins on a single visit (i.e trade in 3 get $5, use the coupons get used game for $1,5, or 10, and trade 1 get 1 new $29.99). If so then that'd be cool. Because I have some games I am wanting to unload and am tight on money right now, so anyway to feed my addiction, without anything out of pocket would be great. Thanks for any help.
 
Anyone try this in Michigan yet? I know one poster said it was not here...but I just wanted some confirmation. I think I may stop by tonight anyways so I can find out for myself I suppose. Hopefully they will have Midway Arcadde Treasures 2.

And if the trade in deal is there....I will probably trade MK:Deception and get FIFA 2005

Technically the coupon is a flat $20 off but if the game is less than 49.99 they may not use it and manually take off the amount to get you to 29.99, or in the case of Midway Arcade Treasures take nothing off. YMMV, good luck.
 
I was going to pay the full $20 for Midway Arcade 2 anyways....I was just going to check the deals there though.

I would like ot pick up FIFA 2005 with the deal. I have credit, but I'm debating if I want to spend it now or later.

I am going to call the one in Powder Springs shortly to see if my Kingdom Under Fire pre-order came in. I will see if they are running the special and report back.
 
I checked my GR and the guy mentioned the deal to me(any new game for $30 w/1 trade) but when I was gonna pay he couldn't get it to work. Then he looked it up in the marketing book and it was only for like 5 areas and mine wasn't one. Whoever posted that yesterday was right..........................

I am wondering about this, too.
I also would like to know if anyone in Michigan has gotten the Trade-in X and get any used game for $X coupons from any mags. I bought a Nov. EGM and a Nov. GamePro specifically looking for those coupons, but the only thing in there is the $14.99 game pass thing. :(
 
I have those Pre-Owned coupons in one of the magazines...although, I want NEW releases, which most have not hit the PRE-OWNED yet.

Probably already posted, their site still says the current offer is pre-order any game 29.99 or less when you trade two games. so if anyone wants to try and get that deal tell them that and show it to them.

Awww crud dont tell me its true the trade 1 get a new game for 30$ isnt gonna happen in TX. I was gonna preorder some games but then waited since this deal was gonna be better, now if I cant get the games I want I am gonna be upset!!
 
It's true!!!
But they did extend the other deals or still have them in place as of yesterday, so the pre-orders would still work an/or the $5 deal.

I did the same thing but thankfully i pre-ordered like 16 games. There are a few that i held off from getting after i heard bout the trade 1 for 29.99 deal but i've still got my coupons from EGM and OXM for reservations and a buddy at one of the GR's doesnt take my coupon after i use them so i should be ok :p

Ha nice, I need to get some coupons I guess, oh and they dont do preorders in the 3 arlington stores, went to 2 of them today and at one store people from the 3rd store were there helping setup some displays and whatnot, said no more preorder tradeins, guess I gotta go coupon huntin.

It's any new game for $29.99... I don't think they will let you take a new $19.99 game for free.

No luck. They only running the $5 extra deal and the Best of 2004 deal.
 
So, can someone tell me what the best game NEW game to get is?

I have enough credit to get one more $49.99 game for $29.99...

Ya either arlington guys didnt get the memo that they extending the deals(the chick was like ya that deal ended yesterday signs shoulda been taken down) OR dallas stores didnt get the memo that the deal was ending LOL either way I wish all GR had the same deals and were on the same page, really was hopin for the trade 1 game get a new one for 29.99$.

Not ALL Dallas gamerushes are still doing the preorder deal. I just got back from picking up Kindom Under Fire and some other games, and they don't have that deal po anymore. They have the extra $5 credit and the best of 2004 for 1/2 off when you trade in two games. The list is pretty crappy, they had alias, catwoman, shrek 2, and other crappy games. Onimusha 3 and Sudeki were on there and I picked Onimusha up for $20 and Sudeki for $15. Still was a great day, because I got 3 deals combined again. So I picked up Onimusha 3, Sudeki, MAT 2, and a used Madden 2005 (I got madden 2005 for a $1 from a coupon) for $60, but I got over $100 from the 5 games I traded in so I left with $40 credit added onto my card. The GRs still don't have Bloodrayne 2 yet, though.

Just got back from my Gamerush and they said the Trade 2 get a 2004 game for $29.99 ended on the 11th.

Now they have the Trade 3 games and get an additional $5 off promotion.

someone mentioned that they got Fifa 2005 on xbox, for 30 bucks because they did this deal. So I'm wondering since the deal ends the day before halo 2, can I buy GTA:SA for 30 bucks after it comes out, when I use the deal?

i don't think there is any restriction to buy GTA: SA because it is a new release. if they don't let you buy it then just tell them that it doesn't say anywhere the restrictions or what games you can't get. cuz i'm looking to get men and doom 3 cuz i didn't get the chance to preorder them when the deal was around. so your more than likely going to get this deal to go with GTA: SA
 
For the new markets, I asked the manager when the trade in a PO game and get a new game for 29.99 promo ends, and she said Oct. 25th.

That'd be very strange considering that that deal just showed up on gamerush.com yesterday (12th) and is still on there as the deal on the main page. Maybe you are confusing it with the trade 2 and get a preorder game for 29.99 deal.
 
Just got back from the Gamerush In LA on Venice and picked up my preorder for Paper Mario 2. This is my first pre-order at this location, but I have picked up a couple at another gamerush. At this one they had the game stored away with a copy of my receipt showing that I had payed in full. It was a much better experience than the two previous times (at another gamerush) when they didn't have my copy saved, and tried to charge me full price when I had already payed in full. Hopefully gamerush stores are becoming more professional with the pre-orders like the store I went to tonight.
 
is burnout 3 considered a best game of 2004? What qualifies? Anythign from this year? It is on new ones right, not used?

Well lets hope they come up with a good deal after the 25th then, maybe trade 2 in get 50% off a GOOD 2004 game instead of the junk ones they got now.
 
Well, MICHIGAN stores got banged. NO trade in 1 get $20 off new games deal. Sucks, I wanted to get FIFA 2005 for $30....now I may have to use credit to get it (although, still fre to me...but it would be $50 credit....hmmm)
 
See, drfrielgood knew what he was talking about. I just wish my GR was a half an hour away instead of an hour. Oh well, I'll just go tomorrow or Saturday.

On a side note, I get time to play my games now too, got laid off work for 2 weeks, sucks though unemployment will start after I get back to work, so no checks for 2 weeks =\
 
yeah, thats what i thought. i was told it takes forever for the state to get it setup and by the time i'd get the checks, i would've started back at work. thats what i was told, i am going to file first thing tomorrow morning(once i get the stuff from work)i too was confused.
