OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.
I does seem a little weird to trade only the disk and keep the rest. I won't buy a game without the insert and cover art, as it ruins the whole process of collecting the game.

I would like to hear why lucky13 actually keeps those things... Hopefully it's nothing peverse, like trying to screw GR.
I went buy one on state brige road in Alpharetta (atlanta, ga). I only been to this one so far and what trash it was; they had tons of games in clear cases and just the disk (no manual, origianl box). I didn't notice any further discounts for the missing stuff.

I was going to get Mercenaries from them but the were $10 more than CC and wouldn't price match.

I was just wondering, BB offers $5 min for each DVD. Now at Walmart they have a whole bin of $1 DVDs like "The Dick Van Dyke Show Season 2", but the case is not like a regular DVD case, instead its kinda slim. Will BB accept these as trade ins?

Also for the trade 3 get a new release/pre-order for 29.99, can I trade in 3 and pre-order more than one game?

Anyway, this was my first time in Gamerush. I had to drive 20 min to get there because it's closest one. I couldn't find it, finally found it inside blockbuster, can't believe I pass it several times. Didn't know GR was located inside BB. Anyway, I heard they was doing the Buy 2 Get 1 Free. While I was there, I didn't find any ps1 games I wanted on a stand, then I look below, there was hundreds of psx games lock inside a glass window. I asked the clerk to open it for me. So here the game I got. The clerk told me he going to make sure I get the $16.99 and $9.99 game one for free.

Einhander for $6.99 (I love this game, VERY MINT and Complete, minor scratches)
Vagrant Story $16.99 (2nd copy, MINT and Complete)
Saga Frontier $9.99 (MINT and Complete)
Saga Frontier 2 $9.99 (MINT and Complete)
Final Fantasy 7 $9.99 (non-gh, MINT/Complete)
Legend of Mana $9.99 (finally got it, MINT/Complete)
Hoshigami $16.99 (yes, thank you, someone here offered me $33 shipped for it, luckily I back off, VERY MINT/Complete)
Galerians for $9.99 (I always wanted to play this, BB rental copy, how the fawk I get that sticker off)

Total: $70.76

oh yea, probably going back again to pick up bushido Bade 1, 2, parasite eve 1 and 2, each for $6.99. I just didn't had enough $$ with me. They have it lock below the PS1 stand, so hoopefully, they still have it.

Does anyone know the trade-in valuez of any of these?
I doubt they'll take those $1 DVDs, and if they do, I'd expect no more than a quarter a piece.
They give a minimum of 5$, per DVD. But they do exclude a lot of stuff. I bought a bunch of the comic books on dvd from TRUS for 1.20$ each and BB would not take them. Luckily GS did, traded 3 for one of their presells.

No, I don't do anything perverse, and I wouldn't want to screw GR. That's really the only store I get my games from lately, and I wouldn't want to do anything against them. In fact, I just picked up RE4 today and used up the rest of my credit.

It just seems like the games at GR's by me hardly ever have the inserts and stuff. So, when I want a complete game, I have these to complete the game if I get a disc only or to trade with my friends who are also collectors. So, I guess it's sort of selfish. But, then isn't everyone on CAG? Even if you're not ripping off a store, you're "cheating" the company who made the game by not paying full retail price for it.

I guess I just don't understand why a few people reacted like I was selling babies on the black market or something. Mellow out a little. Let's get back to talking about games already.

How often do you guys see games (pre-owned) like Ratchet & Clank: Up the Arsenals & Jak 3 at GR. I want to take advantage of the GR buy 2 get 1 free before it expires. But I have trouble finding these games.

haha, we're all "cheating". Whatever happen to poor. Maybe the gamerush by you has a lot of disc only games, because you forget that you make all your trades there.

How many times you get back games that you did not want to keep originally?? I really doubt that you will get any back, 2-3 out of 100 at most. You hate to buy any PO games without inserts, while you force a lot of gamers to endure your stupid disk only. Man, YOU SUCK A LOT!!! :D

Has anyone ever traded the headsets that came this games like Socom or Karaoke Revolutions because I would like to know how much they take for them.
Has anyone ever traded the headsets that came this games like Socom or Karaoke Revolutions because I would like to know how much they take for them.
Actually they dont take them from my experience. When they buy back games like karaoke or socom, there is no option to trade in the game with mic, so they dont take it, and when they didnt i ask them what can i get if i traded them in seperately, and they still didnt want my mics :x this could be a YMMV, but so far I am 0 for 2.

i actually traded in two of my karoke revolutions i got for 12 bucks at sears. the way i did it was to take the game out of its dvd case, and put in it a cd case (if they ask you why it is like that, just say that it came in a paper sleeve), so the only barcode they had left to scan is the bundle box

btw they were worth 25 bucks i think

The reason I was asking was because I was thinking of trading in those 2 headsets and hopefully have enough to get the better offical Sony headset.
Plus, I could trade them w/ other CAG's if they need them. I look out for my peoples.
From what I can tell, you are only looking out for yourself...

preorderd nba street v3 for the cube and traded in driven (gc), hobbit (gc), and lord of the rings: the fellowship of the rings (xb) for 3 bucks a shot. does anyone know when the buy 2 PO get 1 free is going to last until?

I think most buy 2 PO get 1 free should be ending soon for most gamerush. They don't have it anymore at my place. Only the buy 2 new psone games and get one free.
I think most buy 2 PO get 1 free should be ending soon for most gamerush. They don't have it anymore at my place. Only the buy 2 new psone games and get one free.
ditto with mine. all of those signs are gone as of last tuesday.
The buy 2 get 1 free should run through Monday. Tuesday the buy 1 get 1 half off starts up again.
And my GR credit-building begins anew...
they said that they trashed the cases anyway to use the blockbuster cases so I wanetd to keep them and then it would look weird if I just brought in the game, manual, and cover art.
My GameRush doesn't do that, thank God.
How often do you guys see games (pre-owned) like Ratchet & Clank: Up the Arsenals & Jak 3 at GR. I want to take advantage of the GR buy 2 get 1 free before it expires. But I have trouble finding these games.
At my GameRush, they have the really new stuff behind the counter. I'd ask an employee there if they have any "really new" stuff in used. That's how I got both Ratchet: Arsenal and MGS 3: Snake Eater.

Sounds like you found the motherlode on great PSone games, postaboy. Good finds!

By sticker, do you mean the rental one on the disc itself, or just the one on the cases? I found if you do the case ones slow and easy, they'll come off. If you have residue, get some Goo Gone ($4/bottle at dept. store) and use a tiny bit with a napkin. If it's on the disc, I think you're SOL.

So, anyone know what these games get at GR?

All XBOX:
Red Dead Revolver
Top Spin
ESPN MLB Baseball (I guess 2K4 it would be...the newest one)

ONE SIDE NOTE:
Does anyone know what the PRE-ORDER price for ESPN MLB 2K5 is here at GameRush???? The price I've saw was $20, $30, $40, $50 for it....so I want to know what is the REAL price. If GR has it for $20....I may jump on that.

Sorry for the repost fellas

read the fine print and good luck at your gr :D

I was in mine today and I asked flat out if it was good on preorders and was told yes. He also keeps calling me his best customer so that doesn't hurt either.
any word on the psp preorder
My local Game Rush manager said, 'No preorders for PSP'.

There is no guarantee they'll get them the first day (or week or month, I suppose), if Sony is really in a supply crunch. Blockbuster still has to play second fiddle to the established chains, at this point.

Personally, I had been hoping to follow up on my trouble-free DS preorder there. As of right now, it looks like I'll have to keep checking in repeatedly to see if they have it in stock.

Today, traded in:

Fable XBOX ($10 from GameRush) - $30.00
X-Men Legends PS2 ($10 from GameRush) - $25.00
Gun Valkyrie XBOX ($5.99 from EBX) - $3.00
TOTAL - $58.00

Picked up Resident Evil 4 for $29.99. Left over credit goes onto my card, which has around $120 on it now.

Colewave, Mastersun1 got those games from Gamerush for $10 by trading in 3 PO'ed games during the trade 3 PO get 1 PO for $10. Just
FYI brother.
So GameRush is buying games back for more than they sell them? Doesn't sound like a great business strategy.
I think they typically refer to these kinds of programs as 'Loss Leaders', they are building a customer base, and a back catalog of games to sell in the future. Even though they have a ton off junk, I suspect the GR name is now a well known brand. I doubt they will ever be able to compete against EB and GS, but they may play a decent third fiddle.

They are wising up to the holes in their logic (they excluded older sports titles from the latest deal), but from a pure numbers game they are improving. For instance the trade 3 get 20$ off, will over time work well for them. They sell more new games (and more preorders), which allows them to negotiate a better discount for the long term.

I think I saw someone say that Gamerush has Doom 3 CE listed at 49.99, but the one I went to today the total came up to 59.99. So I switched my regular Doom 3 preorder to it and just had to pay an extra 10.xx. Also here's some updated value

Amped $3.00
City Crisis $3.00
Gran Turismo 3 $7.00
Socom $5.00
GTA: SA $30.00

Mercenaries, Mech Assault 2, and RE 4 are the only $35.00 games I saw on their board.

Too bad I never switched it. :(

Ahhh... I guess we can't expect these sort of deals to last too much longer. Might as well take full advantage of them while we can. Does anyone know where the best GameRush store is in Los Angeles? Or are they all pretty much the same? I'll make a trip tomorrow.

For the trade 3 get a new game for $29.99 deal, you can use 2 of the same game, right?

Like 2 Resident evil 4s, and 1 mario party 6. (Not actually doing that :? )

almost all of them let you only trade up to 2 of the same titles per day. if you're cool with the game manager, probably you could skate the third.

Went to GR yesterday and this is what I got for these games:

Xbox-CS- 8
GCN- Super Monkey Ball 7
Xb- Star Wars KOTR 8
GCN- Super Mario Sunshine 8
GCN- Sonic Adventure 2 8
GCN- Legend of Zelda- Wind Wakers 8

Total= 47, picked up 3 games.
Gay thing was that the lady had to open all of the damn boxes because all these games I had got from the CC 5 dollar glitch sale. I was a bit lucky but I wish they still had the extra money for every 3 games :\ but its ok

Traded:

Futurama $8
Aqua Aqua $1.50
Boktai $3 (someone was inquiring to this earlier)

Preordered God Of War (March 15th)

Total cost: $19.85

Not bad! :)
