Game Pass

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter

2 out = $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

OTHER INFO

Deals usually end on close of business on Monday and begin on open Tuesday (some special ones do start on Thursday usually around labor day, memorial day, etc.)

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must be 18 and have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush. If you are not 18, you can trade under a parent or guardian's BB acount, but they must sign a trade agreement.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by "flipping" games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to. Remember, discussion of "loopholes" and "flipping" should be kept in the thread linked at the beginning of this post. We've all had a year's worth of discussion on the ethics of capitalizing on the loopholes, but the fact remains - you sign a Trading Agreement and are subject to the conditions you agreed upon. If you abuse the system, chances are it'll catch up to you one way or another.

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

ALL THE TRADE-IN DEAL'S END ON JUNE 20TH, MONDAY
ALL THE TRADE-IN DEAL'S END ON JUNE 20TH, MONDAY
ALL THE TRADE-IN DEAL'S END ON JUNE 20TH, MONDAY
Well, to be fair, gizmogc, the deal "ending" on Monday the 20th is a bit vague as to whether it can be used ON the 20th - does it end at the beginning of the day or at close of business? :D. So that, at least, is a fair question from doubledown. However, no one here really knows the answer except to say that their new deals normally start on Tuesdays, and thus the old ones are good THROUGH Monday. In this case, though, we won't know for sure until Monday comes. I would assume it will be good on Monday, but I wouldn't save all my trades for then if I were you, doubledown.

And as gizmo says, some GR might not know the deal ends Monday (mine hasa good chance of being in that category since they are a bit disconnected from the rest) and at those select locations the deal might run a few more days. I assume the bar codes will still work then? It would seem Blockbuster would make a system-wide change to the codes so they don't work, but maybe their system doesn't work that way. I'll stop by my store on Tuesday and see if the signage is still up and if so (and if I have any games left which is doubtful) I'll try another trade deal - just to see if it can be done more than anything else :D.

Sheesh...thanks for backing me up....some people are pretty anal. I don't have a chance to get to GameRush until Monday to trade, so that is why I asked. My friend has ym copy of Mercenaries that I want to trade in....and he's giving it to me this weekend. Settle down people.....

The manager at one of my GRs told me that Monday was the last day I could do the trades, but if Blockbuster decides to stop the deals early they probably would.

i agree, "ending on monday" is kind of vague...some may see it as being able to use it on monday, and others would see it in a way that sunday would be the last day the deals are allowed

i would pick it up for you but $20 isn't even going to cover shipping. if you want to offer something more, then i would be glad to pick it up for you.
i would pick it up for you but $20 isn't even going to cover shipping. if you want to offer something more, then i would be glad to pick it up for you.
Hopefully mine has it, I have hella store credit so i dont care about losing a couple bucks to turn it into cash.:booty: LIke i said i gotta go there anyway so if they got it i'll pm you and we can work something out.

Traded these in today:

Xbox Controller (Xbox Brand) $11
Memory Card (Third Party Xbox) $4
God of War PS2 $30
Jak 3 PS2 $17
Phantom Dust Xbox $7
Kill.switch $7
NBA Inside Drive 2003 $1

With this combined with other credit to total about $300 bucks I bought 2 Nintendo DS the new Blue one and Silver one for a couple of CAG. Sad to report that they wouldn't let me have a free copy of Mario 64 DS free with them.

Traded in both First to Fight Xbox and Enthusia Racing PS2 for $20 each, then pre-ordered Zelda: Twilight Princess. I would've picked up Kirby: Canvas Curse, but the Blockbuster (non-GR) employees there said it wasn't coming out until tomorrow. That's not what the rest of the world says.

Man, that's one thing I really hate about GR -- their delayed release dates. Maybe I'm just jaded now, though, since my favorite manager moved to a store that's 20 minutes away.

just did my last preorder today. went with full intentions to get conker live, but saw the advertisement for rockstars "Bully" and I bit. I am such a pawn for impulse advertising. do you think I made a wise choice?
If any Saint Petersburg / Tampa / Clearwater CAG's have been to the Gulf to Bay Gamerush lately, can you send me a PM telling me if they have any decent games?

I'm mostly looking for DS / PSP stuff, but anything decent is good.

I don't want to make the almost 30 minute drive (with no AC in the car to boot) just to find out they don't have anything decent.

Thanks in advance =D
Bumping this again for any late night local area people.
Any idea what I would get total for the following?:
xbox system
extra official blue controller
official communicator
halo 2 collectors
forza
mlb2k5
worms 3d
Any ideas? Im thinking of trading for a psp but I hate to lug all this there if i wont have enough for the difference.

The system gets 85 (mentioned in a pic earlier in the thread), I would guess that Halo 2 gets 20ish, Forza gets 30 or so, maybe 5-7 for the other two games and 3-5 for the extras.

EDIT: Just noticed that the controller gets 11.

Went to a regular Blockbuster location and traded in:
Project Eden (PS2) $1.50
Jonny Moseley: Mad Trix (PS2) $1.50
Max Payne (PS2) $1.50

Then got Halo 2 (used) for about a $1. Spent about $12 total. :)

They told me the same thing when I went to pick mine up yesterday (after I called and they said it was in). But then they looked at the preorder sheets they were handing out (the ones I typed in) and saw that "Touch Kirby" was released on the 14th, so they let me take it. I did, however, have to convince them that "Touch Kirby" was just the old name for Canvas Curse and that there were not, in fact, TWO Kirby games just coming out for the DS :D.

I made what may be my last trades under the current deals today. After scrutinizing those lists I got, I decided to preorder Sly 3 and Dragonquest VIII (and it is Dragonquest VIII on my receipt even though the preorder sheet says VII). I'd never heard of Dragonquest but I read some quick blurbs on in at Gamespot and decided to go for it. No time to deliberate with the deals ending.

New Values:
GC - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2: $8
GBA - THUG: $2

PS - I innocently asked when the trade 3 get a $5 PO is ending - she told me Sept. 5th :D.

yesterday traded in:

XB Judge Dredd vs Death $8
GBA Land Before Time $12
GBA Big Game Hunters $4

Got Mercenaries XB for $5.

traded in:

battlebots (gba) - 2
gekido (gba) - 12!!! (this is only 5.99 if you can find it used at ebgames)
defender (gba) - 9
nfl gameday 04 (ps2) - 3
terminator (ps2) - 1.50
ncaa final four 04 (ps2) - 5 (i think this was 5 or 3 at ebgames)

i picked up fullmetal alchemist and suikoden iv for $5 a piece. the cool thing about the GR trip was that the girl working there let me have some instruction manuals that i was missing for some certain games.
Any idea what I would get total for the following?:
xbox system
extra official blue controller
official communicator
halo 2 collectors
forza
mlb2k5
worms 3d
xbox-85
controller-11
communicator-around 10?
halo 2:CE-regular gets 16. CE might get a few bucks more
forza-30
mlb2k5-7-8
worms 3d-7 or so

you would only get around $160 or so, so not enough for a PSP. your best bet to get a PSP is to buy a bunch of n64s from gamerush and 6 games for every system and get $50 at EB for every system and 6 games. you could buy a system and 6 games for around $30. so you would get a PSP for $150 in GR credit, asusming you could find all of the systems and games you need
do you get 50 trade on credit at EB for 64 and 6 games or do you get credit towards another system and do you have to have a box for the 64
you can use the credit towards anything you want. the easiet way to get the credit is to hit up some garage sales this weekend. people will sell it for dirt cheap. the deal ends 7/2/05 i believe so you have got 2 weeks.

Will we still be able to pre-order games with the trade 2 for 29.99 deal after the 20th? Is it just the new games for 29.99 part of the deal thats ending or both? That sucks that the trade 3 get a used game for $5 is ending it was a good way to stock up on the good games that I wouldn't be able to afford.

68 fucking preorders. This is why the deals are ending. Greedy people ruin everything.

Does anyone know what WrestleMania 21 gets? I tried to do the trade 3 deal with it, but I could not since it's "WRESTLING". I don't really want the game so I just want to know how much they give for it or if I should sell it elsewhere.

i think they give 25 for it
They have every game for preorder pretty much it's just that they don't get distribution from some publishers. My manager told me the same thing about Radiata, since in the past the Atlus RPGs I've preordered never came in, but since Square is publishing it I'm betting they will get it. Wild Arms Alter Code F, I think Agetec is publishing, was one he said probably wouldn't come in which I do believe because I don't think I've ever seen a new Armored Core or anything at GR. The only thing I'm really worried about is Shadow of the Colossus because I want it more than anything and I'm not sure if Sony is publishing it or not.
gr screwed me over for digital devil saga and demon stone so i'm not so sure i want to take a chance with radiata and wild arms. i went last night and preordered a game that wasn't coming out until october instead. if they do get radiata stories, i'm hoping a nice employee will let me change my preorder to credit and buy it.

Went to the 34th Street South Gamerush again in Saint Petersburg - if you are interested in using the trade 3 deal for Warioware Touched, Mr Driller, or Spider-Man 2 for the DS, they are there (as of 2 pm today), I put them behind the copies of Super Mario 64 for all the CAG's.

Other than that, the store is completely cleaned out, besides one last copy of Resident Evil 4 on an endcap. I almost forgot - Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is in the big rack of games straight in front of the Gamerush register... it's 16.99, which is alot better than the 24.99 GS and EB charge.

I'm checking out the other two Gamerush's today, to provide an update to the Tampa Bay folks so nobody else has to waste gas driving around.

Judging by memory, the 49th Street Store has NBA Street 3 for ps2 and xbox, along with other random high profile xbox games. For PSP they have Rengoku, Twisted Metal, and Untold Legends (this is about 3 days ago).

The 4th Street store has Lumines for PSP, and a copy of Forza for Xbox that might already be gone. That was really all I noticed at this store.

Definite drought of Gamecube, PS2, and DS games at most of these stores.

Traded NBA Street 3 ($30), Crimson Skies ($7), and GTA 3 ($5). Got Mercenaries for $5. I saw SC Chaos Theory earlier, but someone must have gotten it. Both of the GRs near me are completely wiped out of used games, and I'm out of games to trade, so I think this is the last time I do this deal. I really wanted to get either Forza, Jade Empire, Doom 3, SC Chaos Theory, and some others, but my GRs haven't had much since I 've gone. Still, I'm very happy with Mercenaries.

Well actually every Gamerush is judge by the number of preorders and strongly encourage me to preorder games. Since I pick up about every game out I like getting new games at the $30 price. 68 might sound like a lot to a normal person, but when you own over a 1000 games it is not that much. So I would appreicate not being called greedy for using the deals GR offers

You are greedy. Regardless of how many games you buy and own, you simply abused the deal at a GameRush.

I buy a freakish amount of video games and 68 pre-orders still sounds like a lot to me. If you could legitimately swing it though, I see no problems with it. It takes a lot of time, effort, & cash to pre-order that many games if you don't flip. Heck, even if you do flip, that still takes a lot of time & effort.

XIII - $1.50
Virtua Fighter 4 - $1.50
Psi Ops - $3.00 * 2
Whirl Tour - $1.50
Stuntman - $1.50
Conflict: Desert Storm - $1.50
Cabela's Big Game Hunter - $5.00

Preordered: GTA: Liberty City Stories, Burnout Revenge, Coded Arms, and Death Jr.

And I confirmed that the last day for the deals are on Monday, so you can still trade in your 2 or 3 games on the 20th.

i traded in:

sky odyssey (ps2) - 3
hsx: hypersonic extreme (ps2) - 1.50
need for speed underground 2 (xbox) - 30

when the guy scanned nfsu 2, i was really surprised that its still holding at 30. i used the t3g1 on advent rising. i had extra credit so i picked up suikoden III (missing instructions), shadow hearts: covenant (complete), and phantom dust (complete but missing the barcode for some reason). for any southern california CAGers looking for yoshi's touch and go, PM me and i'll let you know what GR its at.
Dragon Quest is what they call Dragon Warrior in Japan. The series is insanely popular in Japan -- we're talking GTA-level hype.

I won't call you greedy or knock it in any way, because it's not like you're ripping them off or anything. However, as someone who has over 800 games in their collection, 68 preorders still sounds like a whole hell of a lot.
i traded in:

sky odyssey (ps2) - 3
Only $3 for Sky Odyssey? Ouch. I love that game!
just did my last preorder today. went with full intentions to get conker live, but saw the advertisement for rockstars "Bully" and I bit. I am such a pawn for impulse advertising. do you think I made a wise choice?
No... I thought Bully looked like a GTA knock off.
