OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.
I meant trading in 4 games, getting the extra $20 ($5 per game) and buying 2 new games for $30 each. Now to scrounge up 4 games I wouldnt mind trading in.
Sorry, but that will not work. You can't combine the deals, so you can either get the $20 in extra credit or buy 2 games for $30 each.

Getting both deals should work, because they ring them up separtely. I never had a problem when they had similar deals going on a couple of months ago. I guess it's YMMV.

Yeah, depends on your Gamerush. Mine has always let me stack deals. I can't wait for the $15th :).

For the "trade 2 games, purchase one new for $30" deal, is there a limit of one deal per day? I'm sure that even if there is, a nice GR employee would let you get away with it.

Stores used to allow you to stack deals but the managers were all told to not allow this so... it is YMMV..you need a dumb employee.

Is gamerush getting the Splinter Cell:CT limited edition? I asked at 2 different GR's and the answer was no. I may have to get it from somewhere else.
it doesnt seem that games drop more than $5 per week at any rate. Especially the newer games. You could wait on GT4 and make an extra $5 per game, and save and extra $5 per purchased new game.

And to those who have been preordering and cancelling, have you noticed any comments about such activity. Seeing as how you only paid $35 for a $50 game and got $50 back and bought the same game on preorder again for $35. I almost got banned at my store for doing that once, with Halo 2 CE. And I just didnt WANT the game after all that hype. I didnt even have to play the game to notice it wasnt worth the money.
I don't cancel the preorders, I just return them to a different GameRush after I pick it up. I've done this about 4 times, I don't do it to actually make credit, but now and again I preorder something that gets bad reviews.
Is gamerush getting the Splinter Cell:CT limited edition? I asked at 2 different GR's and the answer was no. I may have to get it from somewhere else.
I know that you can pre-order the Collector's Edition at EB because they have a trade in 5 games and pre-order Splinter Cell: CT deal when I was deciding on the pre-order they told me I could also pre-order the collector's edition of the game for an extra 5 bucks. So, I jumped on it.

I gotta go pick up my preorder of GT4 today, and sign up for the movie pass, so I will ask my cool GR CSR if they allow trading in 4 games and getting those 2 games. If not, no big deal, just gotta go find some filler games to take the place of the 3rd game.

Gamerush better get the collector's edition!!! That's like saying they wouldn't be getting the collector's edition of Halo 2.
Gamerush better get the collector's edition!!! That's like saying they wouldn't be getting the collector's edition of Halo 2.
I checked again this week and still no Collector's Edition for Chaos Theory. The GR rep doesn't think they'll get it since it's only two weeks away. It's strange that they have the CE for Doom 3, but not Chaos Theory... I really want the CE too...

I'm suprised so many GameRushes let people stack the deals. I might need to check out some other GRs in my area.

20 times? I remember when I worked there it was upto 10 games (for $5 more). If they changed it, great, one less trip for me to make.

wow, thats a lot of trading (20 games).

I think its just me, but is anyone else having more fun trading games than actually playing them. These newer games lose their appeal so quickly these days compared to older generation games.

In the map (our planogram)you can only trade 10 games a day for the extra credit (up to $50).

At any time though you are always welcome to trade up to 20 games and no more of the same title.

Now I'm sure in a technical sense the computer will still allow it.
Anyone know how many PSP's each gamerush is getting? Is it still 5 even with the fact that 1 milliion psp's are shipping?
We had a voicemail this week stating that all stores can do up to 22.

Later on though we got an email saying its 15 but no previous retraction of the previous.

So basically unless anyone elses store has a firm confirmation that I don't its 15-22 per store.
anyone know what donkey konga with bongos is getting? i called gr and they didn't have it in their system
We have a set a my store I'll scan it and see if it shows anything. I'll post tomorrow evening about it when I get off if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Also I will be going on vacation/springbreak till Tuesday March 23rd beginning tomorrow evening and definently do not plan on being at work at all till then so I probably won't be posting much. (I'm going to Kansas to see my great-grandmother then back to my house for a day then onwards to southern Texas for the remainder).

For all those PSP preorders, don't get your hopes TOO high, but I talked to my GameRush manager last night and he said that they are going to be able to give the PSP preorders to people as soon as the systems arrive at the store. According to his shipping orders, they are scheduled on March 21st or March 22nd, depending on the type of shipping used. So it's possible we could be picking up our PSPs early. Personally, I'm remaining calm and telling myself that I'm still not getting it until the 24th, since I have a feeling this "policy" may change before the ship date. Still, it's an interesting piece of information and you may want to see what your managers say.

xbox system is only bringing in $90 store credit this week, was $95 last week.

I traded in a system i recently traded some crap 4

15-20!!?? Maybe I should go see if I can still reserve one. I know I should of reserved sooner but I was kind of worried about buggy launch systems but it seems they've worked out the kinks since the japanese psp launch.

I was wondering when all these new deals start on the 15th and etc, is the buy 2 preowned get 1 free still going to be available?

I went today and my GR was still taking preorders. I was waiting for the same reason. I went ahead and preordered one since you can't find one anywhere else that dosen't make you buy a bunch of extra junk.

i ordered the psp some time ago but i have to admit my reluctance, aside from buying another gaming system that i have to spend for more software, is GR's inability to give an extended warranty on a launch system
I was wondering when all these new deals start on the 15th and etc, is the buy 2 preowned get 1 free still going to be available?
Yes, that will be going unless it gets replaced by the buy one get one half off deal.

I've been saving a few games to trade in and I'm gonna head to GR on Monday to take advange of the new deals. I want to Pre order Lego Star Wars for Xbox....anybody know if it's in their system?
I've been saving a few games to trade in and I'm gonna head to GR on Monday
Tuesday. I've done it before too and boy does it make you feel stupid when you have to go back the next day after spending time picking out games to take advantage of a deal.

See, I was thinking about that. I was thinking of going Tuesday or Wednesday just to be safe. The GR's by me have employees who don't seem to be to bright and they'll argue with you before checking their info for which deals are on. Thanks for the heads up. Besides, i'm not trying to get a preowned so i don't have to worry about it getting picked over.

Quick questions on preordering...I want to get Lego Star Wars, which I don't think will be a major release. 1. what is the likelyhood this will be in their computer and 2. how long before a games release can you preorder? I would call and ask, but it's almost 2:00 AM.

Lego StarWars IS a major release and it's already in the system at the 2 detroit area GAmerushes I've visited last week. The release date was listed as April 1st and you can pre-order up to a week before the release date.

Are the Gamerush deals "participating locations only" sometimes?

The reason I ask is that I went in to my local Gamerush (Wilsonville, OR) and they had no knowledge of the extra $5 promotion. They knew about the trade 2/$30 preorder deal (though insisted it was trade 3), but had never heard of the $5 bonus. The game guy then looked through a huge binder, found nothing, then pulled up some info on his computer - it showed the preorder deal but not the $5 bonus deal. Thus, his conclusion was that I was making it up, or heard some crazy, not-to-be-trusted, internet rumor (OK, he didn't actually say those things, but he gave me a look that implied them).

He was able to find the end date for the Buy 2 Get 1 free, which someone asked about in this thread - it is April 4.

He did admit that being all alone in this region (there is no "district" here - just the one store) they sometimes get left out of the loop. I'm hoping that the deal will go on there because I had him scan a bunch of barcodes I printed on a sheet for various TRU green-tagged games and other games that can still be gotten relatively cheap at TRU or CompUSA.

Since I've gotten so much from CAG (the big ones being the CC $5 glitch sale, knowledge of the existence of Gamerush, info about the EB $5 bonus, and the Sears Ratchet & Clank mistake) I'll give a little back.

Here are some trade-in values as of Saturday, March 12. I'm *really* hoping I can get an additional $5 on each of these, though a few aren't so bad as they are:

PS2
Hitman 2 - $8 (is $6.48 at TRU)
Baldur's Gate: $3
Hard Hitter Tennis: $3 ($5 at CompUSA)
Mad Maestro: $1.50 ($5 at CompUSA)
Fantavision: $1
PowerDrome: $7 (bought for $5 at a Target in Virginia last week)
NBA Live 2004: $5 (meh, this got me $8 a month ago)
Primal: $3
Resident Evil Code Veronica: $5
Smuggler's Run: $1.50

Gamecube
Baldur's Gate: $8
Crash Bandicoot: $8 ($5 BB, though no more)
Tony Hawk 4: $8 ($4 from Kmart)
Turok: $1.50 ($1 TRU green tag)
Shrek Extra Large: $7 ($3 TRU green tag)
NFL Street: $8 ($5 CC glitch)

GBA
Virtua Tennis: $5 ($1 TRU green tag)

Xbox
Drake: $1.50

Thanks for the info my good man! See, I think Lego Star Wars is a big deal, especially with the new movie coming out but you just don't hear much about it at all. Eb and gamestop have this listed as coming out on 3/29.

Ok, I thought I read earlier that the original post was going to be updated to include the GBA games in the extra $5 trade in deal. I see that it isn't there. Does this mean that GBA games are excluded or someone just didn't follow through on updating the post?
Thanks. In any case, I'm looking forward to the 15th!!
