OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.

*Also, did anyone buy the SW:Republic Commando game yet at GameRush. I have it on Preorder...but they never called. I guess I'll check today on my way home
I got mine. I don't think i like it though.

Thanks....hopefully I like SW:RC...if not I'll trade it in and get $30-$35 for it....along with a cheap-ass game and preorder another...the circle of trading. I'm sure SW will get pushed aside when Lockdown comes out.

I know my Blockbuster had it, but not to sell they told me....this was Tuesday

Seem like i have to take advantage buy 2 get 1 Free deal right now. Then waited till march 15 trade 3 games & Get extra $5 credit plus pickup any new release or Pre-order for $30 :)

Do you expect the B2G1 Free to end soon?

I would wait until the promotion begins just in case anything you buys drops in value.

I almost forget GameRush Clearance "STreet Fighter" Control for $15 each (Akuma/Ryu........)

I wonder which Street Fighter control version is limited & rare ??
The Akuma controller is the Blockbuster exclusive one. I saw a couple of the Mortal Kombat Xbox controllers were priced at $15 as well, but I'm not sure if that was a mistake or if those have dropped as well.
I think it was exclusive at Blockbuster for a short while. But I've been seeing the Akuma controller at several local Fry's for $15 also.

Thanks for the info, I might pick one up at Fry's then with some of my store credit.
Viewtiful Joe 2 was in fact, in the first batch of "$10 off sticker price" games, but the $10 is still taken off if the promotional barcode is scanned. Worked for me on Monday.
'

worked for me wednesday afternoon...19.99 minus ten bucks for the gamecube version of vj2

I found another copy of MGS2 Substance for PS2 at a non-GR blockbuster today for $17. I was just surprised to see it.

I noticed that the Akuma controller was $15, but the Ryu one was $20.
Awww man, I just pre-ordered with the current deal...I should've waited. I wanted to pick up TimeSplitters 3 and Midnight Club 3 (possibly)

Looks like it's time to pick up 4 cheap ass games to trade in

You can always cancel your pre-order if you have more games to trade in. If you want to be a super huge cheapass you can cancel it and assuming you paid the entire balance you'll most likely be credited the full msrp of the game back and then you can use that money to preorder the game for $30 and have $20 left.
VJ 2 (PS2) $19.99 - $10 off Software coupon = $9.99 plus taxes (just pickup yesterday). Coupon found at cashier computer where tons of coupon stack together.

"10 off Software coupon" :)
$10 off all software, or just viewtiful joe?

Yes! It looks like I'll be able to use these deals to get some PSP launch game goodness after all. I'm amassing a pile of tradeable games now.

Keep checking for those legacy accessories. I just found the Dreamcast VGA adapter for $1.99! Oh, and thanks to CoreyCubed for the heads up on the new deals.

yes stackable? where you compliling the games?

Viewtiful Joe 2 does indeed work with both systems. I was bored and tried it today.

In theory the new deals will be stackable as they both are done in different ways in the pos and if the computer reads the trades like I think it does it the $5 per game will be added.

The account will clear out after posting credit. Then you go back in and do your presale/purchase and then they scan the barcode and it should work.

The only exclusions are sports titles before '04 and mini games and freestyle street soccer (So that mass eb exclusion list should work and give you a good heads up on cheap ones to get to trade).
yes stackable? where you compliling the games?
Actually, my massive backlog of unfinished cheaply acquired games. I'm taking time to either finish/get bored of the ones that aren't really "collectible" so I can trade them in.

Sorry if that wasn't the answer you were looking for. I'm not into the whole "buy strictly for trade-in" stuff. I'd feel like I was ripping Gamerush off or something, even though it's perfectly legal. I've got a good relationship with my store and I don't want to damage it.

I recently got one clerk there into trouble because she took my 3 Metroid Primes that came with my Kmart Wavebirds. Apparently she was not supposed to take these due to the "not for resale" on them. At least that's what she told me. The only reason I had the primes was because I legitimately wanted the wavebirds.

When you say minigames do you mean demos and the like? I've seen a handful of GR stores with JamPacks used so I wonder if they work for deals.

traded in my Project Snownlind today for $35 credit iand got the new Brothers in Arms, it;s a great game while Snowblind was trash. I was the 2nd person in an hour and a ahalf who made the exact trade the clerk said. lol

I should've preordered this, instead of snowblind i've got everything else coming out i wanna play preorder using the 2trades=35 but i had planned on just renting this one figured i was burned out on ww2 games but........

Hmm I don't know we never had anyone try a Jampack but I would say it is included in the exclusion list. Personally I wouldn't take it for the promo deals unless someone was trading it in with something I know would sell but YMMV.

In theory, the deals COULD be stackable in the computer, but you know they're gonna have a store policy against it. I wouldn't get your hopes up for that just based on history.

I've tried trading in Jampacks to GR before, but the computer doesn't recognize them.

Out of curiosity, I couldn't get the Jungle Beat with Bongos for $35 with 2 trades, could I? That'd just be kinda stupid on their part, but it is only a 5 dollar difference...
And getting the regular for 35 and then the bongos for 35, for a 70 total would be stupid on my part. Oy, 55 is too much for one game, but I must have Jungle Beat o_O

minigames probably include things like the 9 Holes of Xmas Outlaw Golf which had a fitty cent trade in value at one time

I have some bad news to update.

There is a chance that some of the very very cheap games may not work. In the system now there is a promo where you get an extra $2 per DVD trade (its only with a coupon mailed to members, but the coupon has no barcode as the employee just enters it in exactly like we will do with the $5 extra).

Anyways we had a guy trade some DVDs today and it would not let us do it for the DVDs that sold for $4.99. Since it brings the trade value over the sale price it does not work.

I will find out asap on the 15th but it should still work for 95% of games as there are very few $6.99 games unless they are sports titles. Even so the games that are only worth $1 credit (such as Maximo) may still work as the $5 still doesn't bring it to the selling price. ($1 + 5 =$6...it sells for $6.99)

Isn't Jungle Beat's MSRP 35 dollars? The bongos have been marked down at certain stores down to 20 dollars, I think the most reported places with markdowns are Circuit City stores.

That'd be very good to know.

Off the top of my head, here's what I remember is currently selling for $4.99 (all PS2):

Galerians: Ash
Cubix: Robots for Everyone - Showdown
Aggressive Inline
Fantavision
Mobile Light Force
RTX

This is how it has always worked. Games that sell for $6.99, though, should work this time around since trade-in credit for those is $1.50, and $1.50+$5.00=$6.50, which is less than $6.99. Any games that sell for less than that will not work.

Two quick questions for CoryCubed (or any other BB/GR employee): Are GBA games eligible for the promo, and is there any bonus (i.e. $3) for PS1 games? I assume the answers are no and no, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Actually that'd be yes and heck no lol

It is good on GBA games but not PS1 games (that was a huge mistake BB did ).

OK, wait, so GBA games ARE part of the $5 extra promo? The front page says differently.
GBA definately are part of the upcoming trade 3, get an extra $5 per game deal.
I cleared out EB.COM last week in preperation for some credit building :)

Iridion is the only GBA game that you can make a sure fire profit on.

Can you use GBA for the trade 2 get a preorder for $30?

Anyone have a decent list of cheapass games I can get from EB.com as trade fodder. I would like to preorder a few more XBOX games.

So what are considered "Value" titles? Are they referring to Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits/Player's Choice OR any new game $20 or less?

Hmm...Waffles...lots of people seem to be saying GBA games will work for this but it has been excluded from the OP. Gonna just wait and see?

Also Buy 1 get 1 50% off (on used games) is not going on right now. It's still Buy 2 get the 3rd free on used games, afaik.

Just to let everyone know. Game Rush has secured more PSPs and now every store is eligible to preorder up to 22 (possibly more maybe less ymmv). Got this in voicemail today.

I can confirm the expanded availability of PSP preorders. Our store received a message today and all Gamerush stores are now able to do 22 preorders per store.
