GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.

they give a dollar for the ps1 card, i went to trade mine a few days ago.

I wouldn't say inappropriate. We usually sell the ones we get within the first day or two of it being put on the shelf. Quick and Easy money for GR as most people pay cash for these.

Viewtiful Joe 2 was on the list of $10 off two weeks ago. It no longer is part of the promotion. I just looked at the list of games included for this two week period at my local GameRush and no VJ2. Maybe this is YMMV, but most GR deals of this sort are company wide since they actually send out sheets that go in their binders.
 
I went to the GR in Beltline, and picked up the second-to-last copy of SOTN, which was infact 9.99.

Anybody know why it says it's 14.99, but rings up 10 dollars?

Price drop (obvious answer). However, changing the stickers on PS1 games is the last thing most stores do, since they only sell 2-3 copies each month (if even that!)

Ah, I was just curious, because some DC/NES/SNES/Genesis games still aren't marked 99 cents (but a few are).

I just want to confirm that the trade 2 get a pre-order for $35 is still going on. I'm pretty sure it is, but just want to make sure. I'm thinking of preordering Lego Star Wars ($40) or God of War ($50). Both look pretty good.

I was thinking of trading in (I already called for prices):
Viewtiful Joe gc - $7
Primal ps2 - $5
Eternal Darkness gc - $7
Resident Evil gc - $7
+ $5 or $10 off w/ the deal
= about $9 out of pocket.

It seems like a lot of games to trade in for a game, either of those two that I have my eye on, that will probably be $20 before you know it. That's why I'm a little hesitant.
 
I went in on Tuesday and they only had Republic Commando to RENT....not my pre-order copy. They called last time my pre-order was ready....no call yet.
 
When did VJ2 actually drop in price to $19.99? I wish someone would've told us when the $10 off promotion was still going on. Oh well. Might pick it up sometime if it remain $19.99. It is a Permanent price drop, right? And what's the promotional barcode? Is it those card looking things that are in lamenated (sp?) things? Thanks for any info.

I got my new EGM yesterday, but didn't thnk to look in the back part to see if BlockBuster had any ads in it. Might go do that now though. (Reason I didn't look at any of the mag yesterday is I don't want to be spoilt on a certain game, even though I've already beat it. Don't want to see any secret stuff. Cause I know they'd probably be showing something (knowing my luck) I haven't seen, if I flip through their stupid ass mag. And yes, I'm talking about RE 4. :)
 
Yeah, the barcodes are the little cards in the plastic sheets attached to the sides of the registers. Viewtiful Joe 2 didn't drop to $19.99 until this last Sunday.
 
Thanks! I looked at my new EGM. Plenty of RE4 spoilers in AfterThoughts, yes, though I didn't read that. Was looking to see if it had any Best Buy Coupons. Nope. Best Buy ad was on page 51 though. RE4 AfterThoughts was on page 50.
No GameRush Ads/Coupons though.

Sweet, now I'll wait to preorder Timesplitters 3, Midnight Club 3, and Jade Empire until this time. Was going to get them this weekend but I'd rather save 5 bucks per game anytime.

Do you know which games count as "new releases"? Like is there a set time after they come out that they count, or is it all games that still sell for $50, or what? Thank you for always posting such great info.
 
Really its just about any game thats still over $29.99. If the deal is done on anything less the credit is 0. the pos will not let it go less than $29.99 and if it already is then it won't do anything.

and.....yes...Lego Star Wars. At first I thought it was too gimmicky, but fell in love once I saw it in motion and I've heard nothing but good things. Plus I'm a Star Wars whore.
 
I love your posts CoryCubed. I actually come to this thread to see if youve posted something new. I wish i wouldve known about this 29.99 trade in earlier. It wouldve saved me 5 dollars per trade. Its not much,but hey,we're cheap around these parts. Thx again for the always insightful info. Im gonna be all over both deals. Just need to find some more cheap game deals like Toysrus recent sales so i can get my credit back up. Ive already preordered my PSP,next i wanna preorder an Xbox 2,Next,360. Thx again.

The Akuma controller is the Blockbuster exclusive one. I saw a couple of the Mortal Kombat Xbox controllers were priced at $15 as well, but I'm not sure if that was a mistake or if those have dropped as well.

It should be there...we had ours at 11am on Tuesday - and this is in Oklahoma of all places.
