CAGiversary!
ALL INFO AND DEALS FOR GAMERUSH (pm/post with any suggestions)

If your in the Oklahoma City area stop by my store at Nw 50th and MacArthur (for now). If your a flipper/scammer at least spare my store the crap titles unless its for presales...thanks. If your good I may hook up with with a special "modification" to a current deal that you may greatly enjoy...

Please note in the next few weeks I will be changing stores to Hefner and Rockwell. They needed the help and while I like my store the pay raise was justifiable and my current sm is moving to pittsburg.

Current Deals

Trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game (LAST DAY IS MAY 16!)

Beginning March 15th till May 23rd, trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game. PSP, NDS, GBA, Xbox, Gcube, and PS2 only. No sports games before '04 and no Freestyle Street Soccer, or minigames/demo discs (the usuals). Also be aware some titles that sell for $4.99 may not work either (Haven, Project Eden, etc.) So don't get upset when they don't.

You may be limited to 10 per day though YMMV.

Trade 2 games and get New Releases and Pre-Orders for $29.99 til September 5th (subject to change)

Should go till September 5th. New releases and Preorder games only $29.99 with 2 game trades (see exclusions above or aka the usual).

Buy 1 get 1 50% til close of business May 16

This works on all preowned games including retro/n64. If any employee disagrees they can call my store at 1-700-22-40049 (not many people know about it but it calls the store in the company by the last 5 digits store code).

Buy 1 Preowned game get another 1 for 50% off. Takes off lowest priced title so separate and make sure employee scans your groups and barcode seperate.
Price and selection will vary by location and quantities are limited. Offer not valid on previously rented movies, sale items or in conjunction with any other discount or offer. Discount taken at register and will be applied towards lowest price games(s). Customer responsible for applicable taxes. Limit 2 per title per customer per day. Maximum of 20 Pre-owned games per customer per day.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter
2 out= $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

Rallisport challenge 2 and Project Gotham Racing 2 were both worth $13 after bonus and Corvette (ps2) was $6.50 after bonus. I was done with the first 2 games and needed a different racer on Xbox so since my GR still allows double dipping I got Forza plus a small amount of credit left on my value card.

Wasn't Corvette fetching a little more credit not long ago? Maybe I'm just confusing the games and values. What with all the numbers floating thru my head because of the deals to be had, it's hard to keep them all straight!

i wish they would bring back the trade 3 get any used game for $10. i know a couple of people that got them for about $2000 worth of games, not that i was one of them:D . also there next deal will be great, 5 games for $25, will work great for building up my collection.
No, the trade in 3, get an extra $5 per game ends on 5/16. The new deal starts 5/17.
No, I'm talking about the upcoming trade 3 get any used game for $5 deal.

Anyone know what they are giving for Resident Evil 4 now a days? I found a Resident Evil 4 Collector's Tin for $45 used at a Gamerush so now I need to trade in my other RE 4. The guys at Gamerush also gave me the RE Outbreak #2 shirt when I bought the Collector's Tin.
No, I'm talking about the upcoming trade 3 get any used game for $5 deal.
Sorry, I thought you meant something else. They give you the trade-in credit as well as the deal in all cases so far, so this probably will not change.

I just traded these in today with $5 bonus for PS2:
Psi-ops - 8 ($5 at Target)
Constantine - 13 (bummer)
powerdrome - 12 (yea)

As for Devil may cry 1 it gets $5 without bonus.
anyone know how much Devil may cry 1 and Turok (Xbox) get?
Turok - $1 (no extra$5 with this title)... but, you can use it on the new release for 29.99 promo.

traded in
splinter cell- chaos theroy 40 with bonous
star wars episode 3 40 with bonous
metal arms 13 with bonous
panzer 12 with bonous
got 2 new games, 2 used games and still have 30 credit

THE NEXT DEAL IS 5 GAMES FOR 25 ON ALL GAMES 9.99 AND LESS, AT LEAST IN SOUTH EAST. if it is trade 3 get any preowned for 5, i will have a psp for each day of the week
Anyone know what Midway Arcade treasures 1 for ps2 is worth at GR?
A couple of us have just posted this one in the last few days :D.
It gets $7 before bonus.

Went to a regular Blockbuster - it's coming down to the wire for the extra $5 bonus, so I'm pretty much gonna clear out my trade stock since I'm not too interested in the trade 3 for $5 used deal (would rather get the extra $15 and use it on a new or preorder - basically they've gone from trade 3 get a new game for $15 to trade 3 get a used game for $5). My GR has very few $35+ used titles that I'd want to get anyway - though I will keep my eyes out for any PSP games. I will save 3 or 4 games for any surprise used games that come in or for new preorders that come out of E3.

Got the following, WITH bonus:

PS2 - NBA Live 2004: $8
GC - NHL 2005: $19 (keep an eye out for this at Target - I got one on clearance there about 2 months ago for $7.48 then saw one a few days ago laying at the bottom of their display case with no tag. It rang up $0.00, but the hand scanner showed the last price at $7.48 so I go it for that)
Xbox - Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines: $6.50 - THIS dropped from $10 a few weeks ago

I'm going to try one more double-dip at GR before the end of the week. Not sure what to preorder though. I might just add a second Zelda and hope to switch it later. You can preorder more than 1 of something, right?

It sounds good, just so long as it's not instead of the trade 3, get 1 preowned for $5...

hey doesn't gamerush guarantee the best trade in values? if so, could i pricematch to values at FYE( found at wherehouse.com). If so that would be helpful to me and probably some others: they're currently giving 7.50 for XIII, 22.19 for FF: Crystal Chronicles and 14.99 for Syphon Filter Omega Strain.
I know they mine used to pricematch EB and gamestop. what do you think? i might try calling them about it tomorrow

yeah i do believe they price match, but I'm not sure if they'll do it if the trade value would be more than they're retailing it for.

Hey io thanks for the price info on Arcade treasures 1. You too scrapdawg because I was wondering what nba live 2004 for xbox was getting. I have a few of those to get rid of. Also, my local best buy has some of those Arcade treasures for $9.99. I'll be busting out the $5 off psp/ps2 coupon found on another CAG thread! Thank you CAG...

So, CoryCubed, or anyone else, anything new on the preorder list? It seems like there's usually something new every few weeks but there hasn't been much chatter about it here.

as of 5/9:
Deus Ex:Invisible War=$4
NBA Live 2004=$8
Crimson Skies:High Road to Revnega=$8
Knights of the Old Republic II:Sith Lords=$18
all for Xbox

i was in a few days ago to pick up my area 51 preorder when i saw that the trade in value on it was $28, so i decided to swap it for destroy all humans and rent area 51 (it had low review scores so I wanted to test it first, plus they didnt have the free midway arcade treasures? for preordering area 51).

yes, but the problem is that FYE gives you your trade in credit on a receipt, and gamerush needs the original copy of the receipt to keep for records. unless you can get FYE to let you keep the receipt and put it on a giftcard (highly doubt it), it wont work.

Just got back from CC. I was surprised to find 2 Powerdrome Racing for Xbox there for $5 each. I thought they were out of them a few weeks ago when I got a couple then. Glad to know the value hasn't dropped at GR on them yet as I got $16 (with bonus) for them. It's so cool to triple your investment isn't it?

Also someone earlier stated that Kohls had Malice for ps2 for $9.99 which is true. I only got one as the profit margin isn't as good as getting it used for around $8 at EB with the edge discount of course.
is anybody sure of next deal at game rush, i heard 2 different deals
I'll know Thursday for sure. I work 9-5 that day when the new map comes in with the new deals in it. I maybe able to have it up by 1 if I'm not the only manager there.

I need an answer fast, I'll be going later today. ok, so would you suggest bringing in 4 games and double dipping(my GR lets me) or would it be ok to just do 3 and get the +5 and preorder. and could I preorder a game that costs $50, get the discount, then laster change it to something else ad get the extra $10? cuz I would just want a $40 psp game. thanks all.

You could try switching the preorders and they might give you $10 back. When I switched my Chaos Theory to DMC3, what they did is that they went ahead and erased my preorder of Chaos Theory, asked for my GR gift card to put the $54 back, and then used the $54 from my card and put it into the preorder of DMC3. So if the game you wanted to preorder later on is $40, you could get a break if the employees havent done it too often (meaning they're not entirely familiar w/ your 'scheme'). :)

WHAT are THE NEW DEALS?
WHAT IS THE NEW DEALS?
1. Due to you using the word "deals", "is" is incorrect. You should use "are", or use "deal" instead of "deals"

2. Reading the thread would go a long way towards answering your question.

3. Sentences typed in ALL CAPS are annoying. Please refrain from doing this in the future.

4. Today is not Thursday. If you read the post you qouted, you would realize that CoryCubed will not be back in to work until Thursday. You should be a bit more respectful in your tone while addressing him, as he has been extremely helpful throughout these threads. Please do try to read what he says before getting too pushy.

Per what he has said before, unless the rumor brought up by another poster is true, the next promo will be "Trade 3, get a preowned game for $5. (Of course, all of the existing exclusions apply to this deal as well).

Just a little information for those that don't know.

Some of you may hear my refer to the MAP fairly often.

Essentially the MAP is a planogram. It tells the ins and outs of the new promos, when to start them, and when to put the signage up for them. It tells how the store should be layed out and what goes where.

In in the barcodes for promos are printed as well as everything about those promos. The map arrives every other Thursday and goes into effect that Monday. Most if not all deals begin on open of Tuesday and end on close of business Monday.

The MAP comes with a calendar that outlines upcoming events/promos/etc. Sometimes it is a few weeks in advance making these subject to change. That it is why I wait for the MAP for confirmation. Granted it could change but in the 9 months my stores been Game Rush a deal that is printed in the map itself w/barcode has not changed until at least the next map.

Also,

Brand new Game Rush stores may have new or different promos. This is to jump start the business and get attention and bring the people in.

Also some Game Rushes may have new or different promos as well. These Game Rushes are most likely in TEST MARKETS. These change greatly amongst Blockbusters and maybe location specific. (though there are no Game Rush ones currently that I am aware of). An example of this is that Blockbuster tested the " no late fees" in a few areas before it came out nationally.

That is all for now, if anyone has any questions please pm. With me going to my new store next week my thursdays my shift towards 1-9 but I will post new deals/info asap.
1. Due to you using the word "deals", "is" is incorrect. You should use "are", or use "deal" instead of "deals"

3. Sentences typed in ALL CAPS are annoying. Please refrain from doing this in the future.

BUT DAT HOW HULK TALK!!!

Quick update - I traded in a couple of games the other day and wanted to list them here just in case they had not been listed in awhile.

Traded:
NBA Street Vol 3 (Xbox) - $30
Cabela's Dangerous Hunts (Xbox) - $8

Picked up:
Forza Motorsport (Xbox) - $29.99 (Trade in 2 deal)
Intellivision Lives (Xbox) - $9.99
Midtown Madness 3 (Xbox) - $6.50 (50% off second used game deal)
I had him do a price check on the 5 games I was trading, he told me $62 plus $25 bonus. I then asked if I could get preoders for $29.99 and he said sure, but only two. (I wasn't really thinking at the time, I should have held one game back for the next trip.... but it might have cost me $5 or more if the trade value went down).
h2dk, it looks like we were both lucky on Saturday with the staff there at the time. I went in tonight and a different crew than Friday or Saturday was in there. They told me they got in big trouble for combining the deals and couldn't do it any more (not sure how - it seems from posts here that many stores allow it so I don't know who they got in trouble with). So much for my second Zelda preorder :D. Really, though, I have enough on preorder and really did get good mileage out of the double-dip while it lasted. I will try one more time to go in and find the guy most likely to do it (the one there on Saturday) and if he doesn't allow it, then it is truly dead. Though of course it would be dead next week anyway.

Interesting trip to some regular Blockbusters today as well. One that I had gotten the bonus at before had taken down all their signs advertising the deal and said they were no longer doing it. So I went to the one where the manager said they were no longer taking GameBoy games (but did the $5 bonus). Their signs were still up, AND they took a GameBoy game from me no problem (different staff - seems to be a theme). So, if I can't double-dip at GR this week I might just trade in all but 4 of the rest of my games at regular BB's and get the bonus on gift cards. I'll save the 4 games for anything new and exciting that gets added to the preorder list this summer...

CoryCubed,

What is the GR/CC policy on returns of new (unopened of course) games? When I was in tonight I found used copies of Shadow Hearts Covenant (near mint) and Dark Cloud 2 (mint manual, disc scratched to hell but works). Of course, I had JUST bought both new within the last 2 weeks. Dark Cloud 2 I can return to Fry's. SHC I bought at GR. I asked the girl ringing me up if I could return the new one and she said she would "note it on my account". So I guess they will let me (we'll see - I've had problems with one employee promising me one thing and another shooting it down later!). But it sounded like it wasn't normal. FWIW, I got SHC for $19.99 and then 50% off $16.99 for DC2. After all the GR deals and enormous amounts of credit I have built up I felt bad shelling out $20 cash at Fry's for Dark Cloud 2 - but I hadn't seen it anywhere else for less than $30. Now I can return that and go back to not using cash :). Plus I'll have a reason to see if my Fry's has those import PSP games (not that I'm likely to spend $60-$70 for one - just want to look).

I also am considering returning SW Ep. III for PS2 because of the bad reviews - I'll just pick it up again when it hits $20. It would be fine with me if I could return it and preorder something else but I doubt they'd let me do that. I would also, of course, be happy taking $50 credit for the return. I would NOT want to just get the $30 back that I paid with the preorder deal - couldn't I open it, and trade it in for more than that ($35)?

What I do when I get a used game from GR is swap out the case for one of the brand new games I bought for trading in. That way I can return the crappy Blockbuster case to them next time I trade in - and my used game looks new (from the outside anyway). One problem with SHC is that it is a 2-disc set - I didn't know that. They just stacked the 2 games on the same spindle in the standard BB case - so the top one comes loose easily. Kind of annoying - I might ask them if they have any 2 disc cases they can give me (since they trash them anyway). Another annoying thing - they stuck their price sticker on the INSERT for Dark Cloud 2 - I cannot get it off. They peel off great from the cases, but not fromt the paper insert. Of course, they had one on the case as well. Want to go back in time and smack the guy just as he stickered the insert.

So here's a wierd request - does anyone know of any cheap 2-disc PS2 games that I can buy new and swap with SHC for the case, then trade in for even $$ (of course a small profit would be OK too) at GR?

As for the return policy its supposed to be ;

New items can only be refunded if unopened otherwise it must be credit on the account.

Preowned items have a 30 day guarantee and can be refunded only if they are defective. Otherwise they can be exchange for credit though most will only do the trade value credit.

You may ask to see if they have any extra cases behind the counter or you could see about just swapping with a rental game cover box (Death by Degrees maybe).

At my Gamerush (Stow, OH) they stated last weekend that the trade 3-get-$5-bonus deal was long since over...not that the deals weren't stackable. Hrm.

io, if you try to return the game you picked up, using a trade in deal, the csr might look on your account (unless you have the receipt - it might just show "delivered" and not the price you paid for it) to see how much you paid for it. If you are lucky you can get the retail price back in credit. If your csr is like mine, he will just give you what you paid for it, $35 or $30, etc. You could possibly just ask to exchange it for another title for the same price ~$50. Try it and let us know.

They lied to you.

That was an option I hadn't thought of - swapping it for something else. That seems the most fair. (Getting $50 credit back isn't fair to them, and only getting $30 back isn't fair to me since I had to burn some trades to get the deal). The fairest thing would be an even swap for another $50 game or allowing me to add another preorder to replace it. We'll see what happens. I'm just hoping the cool guy is there when I go in. I'm still not sure if I want to return SW EP III or not - but I'm definitely going in to return the new SHC.

So, CoryCubed, the return policy is that new items can be refunded? Wonder why she had to "note it on my account" to allow me to return then? Maybe she was just being careful. Oh well, I'll expect that part to be no problem then - thanks. Any ideas why she said they got in trouble for the double-dipping? This might just be with their manager (who I *never* see any more). This GR is not in a district so I'm not sure who he reports to (ie, no district manager). Edit: Now that I think about it I know the manager has done the stacked deals for me himself, though not in a month or so.
