CAGiversary!
ALL INFO AND DEALS FOR GAMERUSH (pm/post with any suggestions)

If your in the Oklahoma City area stop by my store at Nw 50th and MacArthur (for now). If your a flipper/scammer at least spare my store the crap titles unless its for presales...thanks. If your good I may hook up with with a special "modification" to a current deal that you may greatly enjoy...

Please note in the next few weeks I will be changing stores to Hefner and Rockwell. They needed the help and while I like my store the pay raise was justifiable and my current sm is moving to pittsburg.

Current Deals

Trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game (LAST DAY IS MAY 16!)

Beginning March 15th till May 23rd, trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game. PSP, NDS, GBA, Xbox, Gcube, and PS2 only. No sports games before '04 and no Freestyle Street Soccer, or minigames/demo discs (the usuals). Also be aware some titles that sell for $4.99 may not work either (Haven, Project Eden, etc.) So don't get upset when they don't.

You may be limited to 10 per day though YMMV.

Trade 2 games and get New Releases and Pre-Orders for $29.99 til September 5th (subject to change)

Should go till September 5th. New releases and Preorder games only $29.99 with 2 game trades (see exclusions above or aka the usual).

Buy 1 get 1 50% til close of business May 16

This works on all preowned games including retro/n64. If any employee disagrees they can call my store at 1-700-22-40049 (not many people know about it but it calls the store in the company by the last 5 digits store code).

Buy 1 Preowned game get another 1 for 50% off. Takes off lowest priced title so separate and make sure employee scans your groups and barcode seperate.
Price and selection will vary by location and quantities are limited. Offer not valid on previously rented movies, sale items or in conjunction with any other discount or offer. Discount taken at register and will be applied towards lowest price games(s). Customer responsible for applicable taxes. Limit 2 per title per customer per day. Maximum of 20 Pre-owned games per customer per day.

Previously buy 2 get 1 free

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter
2 out= $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

OTHER GAMERUSH THREADS

Don't seem to be working anymore...I will put them back up on request(pm) or if they become live again.
Out of those, which should be the two cheapest I should use for the new game for $29.99 deal to buy for Splinter Cell:CT and which of the rest should I use to trade in? I'm also thinking about buying another game for $29.99, so I need to more possible cheap ones and I need a list of games that apply for that deal. Thanks.
I take it you've never been there, they give you whatever the trade value is for the game AND on top of that every 2 games you trade in entitles you to purchase/preorder a game for $30.

gamerush owns.

i just traded in 3 cheapies that i spent $11 out OOP for, and they gave me $21 in credit, then i preordered Rainbow Six 4. the game cost me $11 cash, and $11 with credit. now i have 7 games on preorder and $188 in credit still. im going tomorrow to trade in 3 games and PO the new zelda or GT4:Mobile. gamerush and FYE has easily saved me $500 over the last 6 months. this is the greatest forum ever

Traded all after +5:

Xbox Showdown Legends of wrestling $12
Xbox Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes $13
Ps2 Rogue Ops x 2 $6.50
Xbox Midway Arcade Treasures 2 $12 (getting this for free with Area 51 preorder)
Xbox Brute Force $8

58$ total

Preordered 4 new xbox titles.

Only 20 or so more cheap EB games to go :)

Since the GameRush information is over 13,000 characters long, and the maximum is 5,000, I'm going to try and email you. I'm also going to try and post it to see if that works.

Alright, let's see if this works.

Feel free to take out, fix, and add things to this. Change everything under "deals coming soon" to the current deals, and post the new trade in prices that Zon put into the last thread.

Okay, I ended up updating this final post. The latest trade in prices weren't posted, instead it was just a list of trade in prices by somone else. I hope you can keep up with this better than I could. :)

Alright, just go to the quote screen of this, copy and paste everything underneath this to your post and you're good to go.

What I am a bit worried about is that I think they may have had a big price drop on some of their trade-ins. When I was looking through the used games it seemed that several that I had traded in were selling for about what they gave me in trade - which I assume means they have since dropped the trade-in price? I didn't want to ask because I don't want them thinking I have more copies of said games :).
Don't know of any markdowns. They maybe behind on price changes.

It umm...works...still...I just know...probably...

"Can you just check for me please?"

Can I do the trade in two games + extra $5.00 per game in conjuction? Or will I have to pick out two for the new game and leave some for the extra $5.00?
Can I do the trade in two games + extra $5.00 per game in conjuction? Or will I have to pick out two for the new game and leave some for the extra $5.00?
YMMV. Some stores will let you combine the two deals while others won't.

Sweet. I love this store already. I've amassed some 20 games, a controller, and $40 to spend at this place. Can't wait to go in tomorrow and rape the joint.

One question, if I bring in a list, or even the games themselves, will they tell me how much they will give me for each individual one before I can make the trade or what? Or do I have to just take them in and commit to trading before I know each of what they're worth?
I see they can ban you for game flipping, what does that mean?
"Flipping" refers to buying games at a store then trading them back in, usually taking advantage of deals to amass credit. Right now, BB/GR has a B2G1 free deal, and they also offer an additional $5 per game when you trade in three or more games (limit of 10 per day). If you work those two deals right, you can buy three games and trade them back in for a profit. Some people already have some BB/GR credit, so by flipping, they're essentially getting more credit for free. That's why some stores have begun banning people for flipping.

Thanks, thats kind of what I thought. I know you can get 3 $5.00 dollar games at Gamecrazy and trade them in at gr. At a $1.50 trade in credit for each plus the extra 5.00 for trading in three you get 19.50 for spending 10.00. And some of those games bring in 3.00 so you would actually get over 20.00 for those.

They let you know what you get for each one, then ask you if it is ok. You don't have to commit the trade if you don't like the prices.

Does anybody know how much Sled Storm for PS2 is getting in trade (can't be much, just want to know if it is under the $5 resell amount)?

Also, how many copies of the same game can you trade in on a trade 3, extra $5 deal?

I basically cleared the rack at my local TRU.

Two of the same title should be your most per transaction.

Yes... you can even get a printed quote showing the amounts but its only good for that day. Any stores that deny this are in the wrong though YMMV as my sister store seems to be not giving trade amounts unless you are there with the game (and consequently I've gotten several trades from them)

Just a heads up:

The buy 2 get 1 free deal is only good through Monday night. This will be replaced by the buy 1 get 1 half off deal.

Also, yeah, I think price drops are a little behind as we hadn't received the email yet tonight.

Wshakspeare, thanks for stopping by on an otherwise dead night! That was a good deal you got on Touch and Go.

I printed up a sheet with a whole bunch of UPC codes (using www.upcdatabase.com) of games that I had at home or could get cheaply. I have brought these (2 different lists) to both GR and my local Blockbuster and neither had trouble using the scan gun to run off the prices of about 15 games in less than a minute for me. This makes it much easier on them than asking them to look up names or even to take each game and scan it. Then you can go home and put your trades together (or just get what you need out of the car!).

Of course, as CoryCubed says, the quote is only good that day - but so far the prices I got a few weeks ago have held. These were mostly for older games though, which are less likely to change week-to-week.

I will probably bring my sheets back in to the local BB store tomorrow to see if anything has changed.

The sheets are good to have if you are shopping at TRU or Kmart as well, since you can't take games out to scan them (at TRU out of the Rzone and at Kmart out of the case!) and the employees tend not to believe that the price isn't what the tag says (we all know how that works at TRU anyway).

Traded these following 4 games:
PS2- XIII $1.50
GC- Space Raiders $11.00
GBA- Sword Of Mana $5.00
XBX- Gun Valkyrie $3.00

Did two prebooks for Psychonauts (XB) and Arc The Lad: End Of Darkness. I'll probably run off to EB and grab a couple more XIII for $3 for trade fodder so I can prebook Haunting Ground & Killer 7 (plus I found a used copy of Zone Of The Enders: 2nd Runner at EB for a little over $20)

Traded in a few more:
xbox

Soul Calibur II $13
Fifa 2005 $19
Phantom Dust $12
Rocky Legends $23

Yes, that is correct, the same Rocky Legends that I just purchased for $8 from Overstock. I should have bought more:)

Does anyone know what the Dead or Alive Ultimate2 disc set gets? I was thinking about bringing it in when I go to pick up Doom 3CE at midnight.

Heh...I had a good feeling about it when I bought 2 copies of Rocky Legends from Overstock :)

Just a quick question about "flipping"... I could understand them (Gamerush) banning someone if they bought 3 used games for the price of 2 and the trading them back the next day (or even the same day!), but say a week passes and you either complete or get tired of one or two of those recent purchases? Do they have a kind of "limit date" they go by that determines whether one has "flipped" or not? I've also noticed that they've started giving out a new sheet to sign when you purchase pre-owned games; perhaps the way they track "flippers"? Also, does anyone know when their $5 extra credit deal ends? I quickly skimmed the messages in this topic but didn't see this info posted, my apologies if it already was.

anyone had any luck trading in those three racing games from walmart? The ones that are bundled together for $10? Will they take them? if so, how much?
anyone had any luck trading in those three racing games from walmart? The ones that are bundled together for $10? Will they take them? if so, how much?
Yeah, I keep hearing on CAG about these 2 and 3-packs at Walmart so I decided to go check it out. I've also heard that they have hard to find games sometimes. I usually avoid the place like the plague... Anyway, they had nothing of interest, and their prices sucked (oohh, they offer $19.99 games for the rock bottom price of $19.82). They have no clearance section like Target, and they said the 3-packs were part of the post-Thanksgiving sale and they haven't had any since then! Total waste of time... though I did get some Easter candy for the kids at 75% off.

But, if anyone does find them please say what town (and what those games get at GR). Maybe I just picked a bad Walmart (Woodburn, OR) - it wasn't as dirty, crowded, and run down as most of the ones I had been to before, so maybe that's why it had nothing good :)

I went to the Mckinney, TX Wal-mart to check out the packs and other clearanced games I've seen in other threads. Not a thing. I remember they use to have rack for older cheap games and I remember seeing the 3 packs there a long time ago, but it now is a psp rack. Damn the psp. I was going to ask if maybe they have them in the back, but I didn't see any employees up in the electronics section so I just left.

Dude, you can do it, but like any thing else they will catch on eventually. If you really want to do it, do it. But don't be greedy. It's like robbing a bank, most ppl will get away with it the first time, but the greedy ones will come back for more and eventually get caught.

I get all my trades from EB, after cag discount and eb card discount, I can easiy get games for $3, so instant 100% profit.

This whole process is a game where patience wins.

Cool, happy trading! I have tomorrow off so I'll be hitting a few GameRush stores around the area and I'll let you know how stuff goes.

I went in tonight (Sunday) and got the same prices as before for some games but there was one notable drop. Turok for Gamecube fetched me $6.50 last time I did it (on March 28th). This time the clerk tried it 3 times, but he says it only came up $1.50 because they sell it for less than $6.50 (I assume the price they sell it for dropped to $4.99). Oh well, only a 50 cent profit (got a few at a TRU in Maryland just a few weeks ago) - thankfully that was my last one. I just went ahead and did it anyway since I wanted to do 2 preorders and only had the 4 games with me.

On another note, I had the same problem someone else mentioned with respect to Fire Emblem GC/GBA. He looked up the code for the Gamecube Fire Emblem and said it only costs $29.99 so there is no deal discount. I thought that was strange so I had him remove it and preordered something else. On the receipt where he added it (then "delivered" it, then credited back the $29.99) it says "GCUBE - FIRE EMBLEM: THE SACRED STONES". This is the GBA version I believe, but since it says GCUBE he was sure it was the Cube version. Oh well, if I go in there again for another preorder (running out of games though!) I'll ask someone to look up if there is more than one Fire Emblem in the system.

In case anyone would be interested, GR sells used PSP's for $149. I know I'll be keeping a watch out for one at that price.

Wow, used PSP for $150.....I'd be tempted since I have about that much credit....but I doubt I'll see one. Plus, I really don't have a need for it....not much of a handheld gamer. Still a nice price.
anyone had any luck trading in those three racing games from walmart? The ones that are bundled together for $10? Will they take them? if so, how much?
they do take them and they are worth $21 total....6.50, 6.50 and 8 (with the $5 extra)

Wow, I'm planning on trading in THUG2Remix so I'd better do it today before it drops to $30 on the 5th...anyone guess what I would get for it today, $35?

I really want Untold Legends, but I don't think my Gamerush has any more copies.

Someone mentioned about Turok Evolution not being valid for the extra 5--that sucks, I have a copy here going in today too.

For the trade 2 get a pre-order or new release for 30 what exactly counts as a new release? Could I still get a psp game?

Based on my experience, usually stuff that has come out within the last month of so--I haven't tried anything older, but if they keep it behind the counter new/sealed, it usually qualifies with no problem. That being said, I've never really had a problem--and yea, PSP games all count for the promo still.

I picked up Tales of Symphonia yesterday, so it seems that it works for just about any game as long as it's "New" rather than preowned.

i am pretty sure that it is any new game. (not preowned). i went last week to pick up RE4 with the deal, and i had no problem. yes, you can still get a psp game with the deal.

Went to GR today... They told me I couldn't exchange my pre-order for another game of the same price. How stupid is that? I mean, If I pre-ordered the other game - The price would of been the samething right????
I really don't get it. It's not like I hoard or take advantage like some of you guys. You would think they could treat me better after spending over $1000 in that store this year so far. Plus I traded in my Nintendo DS and an insane amount of movies, they got damn near every ps2 game i ever had ! No respect at all. Maybe I should start flipping games and then they'll have an excuse to treat me that way.

I guess you just need to get someone cool to switch your preorder for you. I asked about this same question as to whether I can switch a preorder in case I ever change my mind, they said normally they cannot switch to another game, but, I quote, "I guess I can do it for you if you want another game instead." So it's pretty much depending on the person you're talking to. Althought if your GR has a really strict manager then maybe you're out of luck. Make friends with a worker or two and it may benefit you in some way and use that as your advantage.
