CAGiversary!
ALL INFO AND DEALS FOR GAMERUSH (pm/post with any suggestions)

If your in the Oklahoma City area stop by my store at Nw 50th and MacArthur (for now). If your a flipper/scammer at least spare my store the crap titles unless its for presales...thanks. If your good I may hook up with with a special "modification" to a current deal that you may greatly enjoy...

Please note in the next few weeks I will be changing stores to Hefner and Rockwell. They needed the help and while I like my store the pay raise was justifiable and my current sm is moving to pittsburg.

Current Deals

Trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game (LAST DAY IS MAY 16!)

Beginning March 15th till May 23rd, trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game. PSP, NDS, GBA, Xbox, Gcube, and PS2 only. No sports games before '04 and no Freestyle Street Soccer, or minigames/demo discs (the usuals). Also be aware some titles that sell for $4.99 may not work either (Haven, Project Eden, etc.) So don't get upset when they don't.

You may be limited to 10 per day though YMMV.

Trade 2 games and get New Releases and Pre-Orders for $29.99 til September 5th (subject to change)

Should go till September 5th. New releases and Preorder games only $29.99 with 2 game trades (see exclusions above or aka the usual).

Buy 1 get 1 50% til close of business May 16

This works on all preowned games including retro/n64. If any employee disagrees they can call my store at 1-700-22-40049 (not many people know about it but it calls the store in the company by the last 5 digits store code).

Buy 1 Preowned game get another 1 for 50% off. Takes off lowest priced title so separate and make sure employee scans your groups and barcode seperate.
Price and selection will vary by location and quantities are limited. Offer not valid on previously rented movies, sale items or in conjunction with any other discount or offer. Discount taken at register and will be applied towards lowest price games(s). Customer responsible for applicable taxes. Limit 2 per title per customer per day. Maximum of 20 Pre-owned games per customer per day.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter
2 out= $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

i was able to trade in the jsrf/sega combo and they just gave me credit for one of the games

the game rush i frequent doesn't take echo night anymore (a pre-emptive strike against "drake-ing")

Does Gamerush accept older PS2's? I'm thinking of trading mine in along with the network adapter for a newer slim PS2.
Does Gamerush accept older PS2's? I'm thinking of trading mine in along with the network adapter for a newer slim PS2.
Yeah they take back old ps2s. You might get a little bit less than if you were trading in a slim.

Here's what I traded today (all prices after $5 extra):

PS2
Black & Bruised $6.50
Cabela's Big Game Hunter $13
Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends $15
FIFA Soccer 2002 $1 (no extra $5)
Gran Turismo 3 $8
Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown $13
Rugby $8 (no extra $5, but keyed in as Rugby 2004)
Rygar $10
The Bouncer $8

GBA:
Scooby Doo: The Motion Picture $14
Wing Commander Prophecy $17

A few pleasant surprises there, especially on the GBA games.

Is this Echo Night thing nationwide or local? I've got one to trade in...maybe I'd better hurry.
Wow, my gamerush won't take my PS2, they say its illegal or something. Whats that all about?
System trading is only available at certain locations. You have to call and find out if they accept trade-ins on systems. It depends on city laws and what not.

I was GR today trying to get full credit back on 2 unopened copies of TimeSplitters:Future Perfect (GC). No luck. They would give me back about $35. So I didn't know what to do. So I just kept them. I guess I'll give in and accept 35 another day. The guy said if I were to trade in TS:FP, I'd only get $25. And I'm like, your sign says $30. :) He says, prices fluctuate. Yeah, sure they do. And it just so happens that they just started fluctuating when he saw I had 2 copies of the GC version. :)

Anyone know what the 2 months of Free Xbox Live sells for in stores? Because I got one in Doom 3 CE and was wondering. Thanks.
Wow, my gamerush won't take my PS2, they say its illegal or something. Whats that all about?
If you're in California (or whatever states that this applies to), the state hasn't given Blockbuster/GameRush a pawn license yet, so they cannot take anything that has a serial number.
Does anyone know if the Gamerush in Arcadia, CA still allows double dipping?
They should be still.

Well, the fact that it is a FREE coupon means it doesn't really "sell" for all that much :) You could try ebay, maybe you could get $2 or $3 for it if that's worth the effort.
Is this Echo Night thing nationwide or local? I've got one to trade in...maybe I'd better hurry.
All Gamerush trade-in prices are nationwide. Gamerush prices change on Tuesdays, and I'm guessing with all the Echo Nights being traded over the last week, its value will drop bigtime, so you should trade that in before Tue. Here's what I traded in today, all of them have been mentioned before, but what the hey. All with the extra $5 :

PS2 Echo Night $30
PS2 XIII $6.50
PS2 Malice $16 (currently $5 at EB)
PS2 Powerdrome $12 (currently $5 at CC)
Xbox Rocky Legends $23

Pre-ordered Area 51 for the Xbox, though neither the clerk nor the receipt said anything about it including the free Midway Arcade Treasures 2 that has been mentioned in this thread. Does anyone else have a receipt that specifically says its included?

OMG, Rocky Legends was 23$, I got that for 5$ from outpost and it sitting on my floor, unlikely to be played for months (Timesplitters, Lego Starwars and Doom are in play).

To answer your question I believe the Midway freebie is nationwide and not specific to a single store, I was told by GR store ppl that I will be getting it, and in fact I traded in my copy expecting to replace it with this new version.

dinovelvet: Ok, so maybe I worded that wrong. :) What I meant to say was how much would you have to pay for a 2 month Live subscription in stores? I heard they sell them (on cards, right?) in like Best Buy? Thanks for any info.

Oh I get ya. The Live starter kits that are sold in stores have 12 month subscriptions, and cost $60, but you get the headset and a free Crimson Skies to go with it. Those 2 month cards that come free with certain games are just temporary Xbox live trials, they're not really worth a whole lot. Techically you could say they're "worth" $10 since it'll get you two months on Xbox Live, but about the only place you could get money for one would be ebay, and then we're talking 2 or 3 bucks at the most.

Does anyone know the trade-in prices for:

Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World
Viewtiful Joe
Need For Speed: Underground
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Thanks in advance!

We do have 3 month subscription cards that come with a communicator and a demo of crimson skies (maybe mech assault though). Its $39.99

Does anyone know what these games get?
Metroid Fusion GBA
DOA Ultimate XBOX

Also has anyone tried preordering Half Life 2 Xbox? I want to know if they have it in their computer for next time I go.

Green Bull let me know if you still are looking for a 2 month code. I might have one lying around I could give you.

Here's my haul for today (w/ extra $5)

Echo Night Beyond (PS2) - $30
Colin McRae Rally 3 (XB)- $15
World Rally Championship (PS2) - $10

Be sure to check the pre-played bin outside of EB...that's where I found my PO Echo Night...

SMA2 - $9

NFSU - $8
PM:TTYD - $25

The first is an estimated guess (won't be more than $12), the rest should be pretty accurate. And those are all before the extra $5.
I tried to pre-order it today and was told it wasn't in the system.

I traded in some games (all of which have been mentioned previously in the threads) and pre-ordered the following:

Godfather (Xbox)
Grand Theft Auto (PSP)
Hot Shots Golf (PSP)

I think that's the last of my trades at Gamerush for some time. These deals have depleted most of my current gen. collection. I can't really complain though, I've picked up a PSP and 8 games/pre-orders from them, and that's not counting my brothers' pick-ups.

Got today (Sun) with extra $5:

GBA Wing Commander Prophesy: $17 (thanks to a previous poster in this thread - this has been $7.48 at one local TRU for a long time)
PS2 - NBA Live 2004: $10
PS2 - Echo Night Beyond: $30 (had to dump this before prices change Tues!)
PS2 - Red Faction: $6.50
PS2 - XIII: $6.50
XBOX - Robocop: $12 (thanks to CAG, got this for $5 at EB)

So, a total of about $32 spent netted me $82 credit. Added in $8 and preordered KH 2, Jak X, and got a new copy of God of War (I'm running out of things to preorder - I've never even played the original KH, and am just starting the Jak series). So, all three of those for $40 out of pocket. Wow... This so totally beats the EB PSP deal which seemed like so much trouble (exclusion list, YMMV trades, YMMV employee attitudes, bleah). I've gotten all my new PSP games (only 4 so far) through Gamerush - still worth it even if I only save $10.

You're welcome! ;)

The game's only about $6 at my TRU, so I make almost 300% by trading it in. I like to think of it as a poor man's Echo Night (since there are no more EB's near me).

Does anyone know if Soul Caliber III is in the system for preorder? Thanks to the post here, I was able to get one echo night beyond to trade in. If any of you are looking for shadow hearts (the first one), there's a few in EB at Garland.
I pre-ordered Jade Empire and I am wondering if I am going to be getting the LE, even though it does not say so on the reciept.
I would say.... NO. You need to request the LE version...
I pre-ordered Jade Empire and I am wondering if I am going to be getting the LE, even though it does not say so on the reciept.
Oddly enough at our last conference call they stated stores would not be receiving the REGULAR edition and would get only the collectors. You'll probably need to have them convert it to the collectors(same price). I had to go do this manually with all our preorders over 2 weeks ago.

Maybe... check and see? Let us know...

Do they still give $100 for the DS (on the trade in price list in the OP it shows that)? I'm seriously considering dumping my DS and the 3 or 4 games I have with it to get a PSP and some games. I'm going to check out what I can get for these:

GameCube

Star Wars Rogue Leader Rogue 2
Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy

Xbox

Armed and Dangerous
Ninja Gaiden
Fable
Mad Dash Racing
The Terminator Dawn of Fate
MechAssault 2 Lone Wolf LE
Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow

DS

Ds hardware
Feel the Magic
Tiger Woods PGA Tour
Super Mario 64 DS

GBA

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Ice Climbers

I'll try to trade this stuff in tomorrow, and pick up my Doom 3 preorder (although I might end up cancelling it and put the $50 towards the PSP) buy Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and probally get Jade Empire on Tuesday.

Any idea on how much I might get from GameRush with all this stuff combined if all of the games had the extra $5?

Found a new Game Rush near me with PSPs in stock, so I put $50 toward it to reserve one. I need to trade in another $50 to completely pay it off. Got a stack ready for the next trip! Wish me luck on no dead pixels!
Feel the Magic
Tiger Woods PGA Tour
Super Mario 64 DS
I think you'll get $12.50 (before bonus) for the DS titles that retail new for $29.99 (and that they sell used for $24.99). For sure that includes Super Mario 64 and probably Feel the Magic. Tiger Woods may be a more expensive one so you'll probably get a bit more for that. I'd say about $55 for the 3 with the $5 bonus on each - though it might be a little more if they sell Tiger Woods for $34.99 used (like they do for Warioware).
Do they still give $100 for the DS (on the trade in price list in the OP it shows that)?
According to Gamerush.com, they're showing $95 as the trade-in price for a DS (as of April 3). So it should still be around that now.

I'd say about $55 for the 3 with the $5 bonus on each - though it might be a little more if they sell Tiger Woods for $34.99 used (like they do for Warioware).
That's a good amount of credit for those three games. Thanks for your help. :)

EDIT- And thanks Tim. I'll probally trade in my DS since I got it as a gift anyways. It's really a $55 loss, and I got to try the DS for a couple months before I realized that it's not anywhere close to the PSP in terms of what I want. The DS is fun, but as Defender said, "PSP VS DS is silly...the PSP is the mack daddy while the DS is a fun toy."
has anyone seen any GRs that have sold a 1gb memory stick for the psp?

What is GR giving for Doom 3 nowadays?
According to the list from April 5, Doom 3 is getting $35 before the extra $5.

So I traded in 4 copies of Echo Night and 4 of XIII for $146 today at 2 different GRs from~$60 out of pocket.
One of the game rushes said that the +$5/game for trades greater than 3 was ending as of tonight. I didn't find out at the other store b/c i'd already been before hearing the news. Is this on a store to store basis , or nation wide?

I just traded in:

TimeSplitters 2- Ps2- $7
Sims: Bustin' Out- Ps2- $8
VF4:Evo- Ps2- $5
ICO- Ps2- $3
Zone of the Enders 2 - Ps2- $8

For a total of $51 credit and picked up

Jade Empire: LE- XB

and

Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict- XB

For a grand total of $12 out of my pocket. I'm extremely satisfied. Jade Empire is out tomorrow right? :D

Absolutely shouldn't be...I throughly went through our Map last week (unless I'm blind) and I've been checking voicemail and everything today and no word so it should still be on.
