Current Trade-In Deals

Trade in 2 games, preorder any game for 29.99!! (July 19th - ??)

Restrictions and rules below:
Alright, I read the map today and here's some stuff on the new deal:

- As has been said, it starts on July 19th. I cannot remember offhand the date that it ends.

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter

2 out = $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

GAMERUSH WEBSITE

This should have alot of stuff so please just search around the website before asking questions.
haven't follow this thread for awhile.. do gamerush accept GBA games for this trade 2 for $29 preorder? thank you
Yes.
Yes.
thanx.. probably gonna reserve mario party 7 when it become available, since the party line game rarely go down in price..

how likely that a mario sport title would go to greatest hit? like mario baseball and striker? thanx

I'm sure they will go PC at some point - but it will probably be at least a year or so (look at Mario Kart and Mario Power Tennis). If you've got a GR to use for the $30 deal I would do it (and in fact have myself!). Though Fry's is selling Mario Baseball for $35 apparently - that was a shock. Get that baseball preorder done this weekend though - can't use the deal once it comes out.

Fire Emblem: PoR is in the system. I was able to pre-order it this evening. The clerk was surprised it had been added as he also wanted to pre-order it.

Some trade-in prices from today...including the 25% bump...

Darkwatch PS2: $40 (yay!)
Geist: $31.25 (boo!)
Shenmue 2: $6
Viewtiful Joe PS2: $3

Still a no-go at all of the Central Florida GR's I've checked for the Xbox 360 trade-2-for-$30 deal...not even PDZ or Kameo. They even acknowledged the price drop to $50, but the deal is a no-go for now.

That really doesn't make any sense if they are indeed showing up at $49.99. The trade 2 for $30 deal only says games $49.99 and lower are eligible. If the deal doesn't automatically work when scanned, I would think if you pushed even a little, they would manually enter it in.

yeah, well at least I don't think the computer stop the deal from happening. I remember when I was preordering some $20 games, the teller accidently used that "trade 2 in" and raised the price of the games to $30.

Actually a flyer I read today says that deal is eligible for this gen's games (xbox, ps2, etc...).

Actually looking at Gamerush.com and the promo, I think they will allow us to pre-order Xbox 360 games.

"Offer valid for a limited time. Trade 2 games and receive standard trade value plus get any game available for pre-order priced $49.99 or less for $29.99 plus tax. "

Any game available for pre-order sounds like once they update their system to reflect the 1st party games we should be good to go.

Of course this is BB we are talking about.....

You beat me to it - I just got back from doing the same - was going to be my big breaking news :D.

Oh well...

Before 25%,

PS2 - Midway Arcade Treasures: $8 (interesting this has gone up from $7)
Xbox - ESPN NFL 2K5: $3 (got it for $5 at Target - had no idea it would be so low!)
Xbox - Pinball Hall of Fame: $7
Xbox - Galleon: $20

Preordered "GCUBE-Fire Emblem:path of Radiance". Super Mario Strikers and Mario Party 7 are still NOT in the system though, so they weren't as thorough as they could have been with the update :D. They probably just, finally, got around to fixing the Fire Emblem problem in response to all the complaints from individual stores.

I'm going to be switching my Zelda preorder over to Fire Emblem: PoR tomorrow. Thanks grecianfox and io for the information! I'm also going to pick up the DS+Nintendogs+Intec Starter Kit bundle tomorrow from TRU. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat also comes out October 24, a game that I have preordered. This stuff should tide me over until Christmas. :D

Just want to thank drfrielgood for taking care of me today.

With 25% bonus
Jade Empire Limited Edition~ $17.50
Conker: Live & Reloaded~$15.63
Delta Force: Black Hawk Down~ $43.75

Anyone know if i'll be able to cancel a preorders and use the credit to pay for a xbox 360 preorder?

I'd like to swap over 25 to life but i wonder if they will let me and if they'll give me $50 credit or try to give me $30. I want to reserve a system but dont have $100 I want to put towards it... I've got a few things to trade already so i'll check while i'm there.

You're right. I misread this part "Valid trade titles must have a resale value of $7.99 each or greater and be PSP, PS2, XBOX, GCUBE, GBA or NDS formats to be eligible for this offer." The employee showed me that part when I tried to preorder PGR 3. I thought it was talking about the eligible titles for preorder since I just read the end of that sentence at the store and not the beginning that shows it's talking about the traded titles. Thanks for mentioning it, I'll be sure to point it out to the employee when I go next time, even though I'm sure I'll get turned down still.

they are not allowing 360 pre-orders because their cost for the games is apparently huge irregardless of the 50 dollar price point for a handful of games

trades pre-25 percent

hulk 30
mc 3 dub 30
tw 05 14
halo 8

I think this is YMMV. I know my store says they will only give me $30 back if I cancel a pre-order. I'm assuming they track if you used the deal or not in the computer. So, it's better to keep the game and trade it in a week later for $35 (most of the time)

Also, when I preordered my XBOX 360, the receipt said

XBOX 360 HARDWARE (nothing about the WIRLESS)

It should be the $399 version since I think that's all they are getting and that's what I said I wanted.

In the Kissimmee GR, there is a print-out of an email in the preorder book from a southeast regional manager saying no current deals apply to 360 games, and should not be manually done. It seemed to imply there would be a deal for such in the future, but no details.

The manager at one of the Orlando-area GR's almost freaked when the GR employee tried to let me preorder a 360 game (Kameo) with the 2-for-$30 deal. She looked like she was about ready to fire the poor guy :(

Apparently the message being handed down is pretty strong - I'm amazed some of you guys are actually getting 360 games with the trade-in deal.

Thanks for the info, even if they only give me back $30 i'll still prolly go ahead and take the credit. It's price is now listed as $40 on EBgames.com and it's coming out the same day as BF2 so this game is set up for failure. I'd rather have the money to use towards preordering a 360, i hope they haven't done all 10 preorders yet.

Just stopped by Gamerush yesterday and found out a few bits of info:

1) Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix is in their system now but doesn't include the pad

2) ALL Xbox 360 games are purposely listed as $59.99 in their system and will not qualify for the pre-order deal; they have a specific page in their book that lists all of the 360 games if you want to check them out though; the guy also said that a few employees were already fired for honoring 360 pre-orders because corporate reviews each stores' weekly pre-orders

3) Almost all former high priced Xbox titles (minus the new ones like madden 06) have dropped drastically in anticipation of the 360 (ie. Forza & Conker went from $30 to $12.50)

4) They will include Pandora Tomorrow if you buy/pre-order Rainbow 6: Lockdown

I just preordered Ultimate Spiderman Limited Edition for the PS2, in case anyone is looking for something good to preorder (normal price is $59.99).
What are the odds that GR gets Mario Baseball in today?
0. It only ships today, so 99% of the time specialty shops like EBGames and Gamestop won't get them until tomorrow. There is the rare time when stores actually receive them on the ship date, but that never includes Gamerush.

It would be nice if GR did a trade in ps2/xbox+a few games towards the purchase of a 360 for a decent amount of credit.
Does anyone know if Stubbs the Zombie (Xbox) is available for pre-order yet? I checked about a month ago, but they did not find it.
Nope. I tried 8/27 with no luck.
It would be nice if GR did a trade in ps2/xbox+a few games towards the purchase of a 360 for a decent amount of credit.
I'm thinking that if stores only have 10 to sell, and a good portion have $100 worth of preorder money on most/all of them, there isn't much incentive for them to do that deal. Likely, any deals will involve preordering games.

My opinion, of course, and subject to being flat out wrong.

sup guys... never actually been in this thread before, but my blockbuster (not gamerush) starts taking trade ins this week,... and I was wondering if anyof these deals apply to blockbuster stores?

The $29.99 preorder deal is Gamerush only. Buy 2 Get 1 Free is good at pretty much any Blockbuster, as is the PS1 games deal and the $4.99 Hip Gear controller.

Any idea of what 'Yourself Fitness' for XBOX gets? or Medal Of Honor Rising Sun? I checked the last 7 pages and did not see 'Yourself Fitness' mentioned.
Now that Chaos Theory has dropped to $15 after GGC at Best Buy, does anyone know what it trades in for at GR?
A page or two ago, someone said it gets $18. The price in-store as of today is $39.99.
sup guys... never actually been in this thread before, but my blockbuster (not gamerush) starts taking trade ins this week,... and I was wondering if anyof these deals apply to blockbuster stores?
Sometimes the other deals apply - for example, the $5 bonus per game deal and the Trade 3 get a PO game for $5 worked at regular stores. The preorder deal, of course, doesn't work since they don't order too many new games for normal BB's. I was a bit surprised that the 25% bonus credit deal is not active at regular BB's though after the $5 bonus one was. So, basically, right now the only decent deal at regular BB's is the Buy 2 Get 1 free.

Interesting thing happened at my local BB the other day - this one has the best selection of any non-GR BB that I've seen. But the manager was loading up a cart with a ton of games and she said they were going to a store in CA since she had too many. If they really have this used game sale (see http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64629&highlight=blockbuster+sale) they don't have nearly as much as they used to.

But maybe stock was only sent to certain stores for this sale? Any GR employees care to comment on the sale? My GR has no knowledge of that sale or the Labor Day sale...

I believe some new Gamerush stores may be opening in California. Either that, or excess inventory is being sent to the stores that are having the sale mentioned in the other thread. Our store also processed a transfer a couple of weeks ago, in which we sent hundreds of preowned games to stores out in CA.

Also, thanks for stopping in the store Saturday TC!

So I take it this sale is only at select stores?

Well, tomorrow I'm going down to my GR to switch my Zelda preorder to FE: PoR (GC) and I'm going to pick up Feel the Magic XY/XX or Advance Wars: Duel Strike for my new DS. I just got it yesterday at TRU with Nintendogs: Daschund and Friends and a Starter Kit for $149.93 + tax.

Went in to my local BB a few minutes ago. No knowledge of any sale of used games coming up - girl there wanted me to let her know if I find a store running it (after I said maybe it was just select stores).

Anyway, checked a couple of trade-in prices:
Xbox Kung-Fu Chaos still $6.75
PS2 - Neo Contra: $8

Get Kirby Canvas Curse as well - best DS game so far. And also Meteos if you like puzzle games. I have AW : DS but I haven't opened it yet. Played a little Daschund the other night - OK so far, but doesn't live up to the hype for me yet.
YMMV. The 25% might not even be going on at your store.
just preorder Zelda and mario baseball, get the double dipping for 25% plus $29.99 preorder.. haven't done trade in for over a year, but the guy at GR sorta know me.. used to do lot of trade in with space channel 5, Drake and and Dr. muto.. oh the good old day :)

Wow, I read earlier that Forza had dropped to $12.50. I went today to trade one in along with Powerdrome Racing for Xbox and sure enough it was true. Powerdrome got $10. These numbers don't include any bonus. Only traded the 2 and preorderd Shadow of the Colossus.

I just called my GR and asked about Mario Baseball. She said that the street date is Sept. 2 and that even if they get the game in they can't give it to me until that date. Grrr...I hate when the GR employees know nothing about games. Thankfully I only have a few games pre-ordered at this GR (Brighton, MI).

Mine tries to pull this on me - but they usually believe me when I tell them the game is already out. Aren't most of their "street dates" usually Fridays? Of course games rarely come out then. I guess I need to bring the Fry's ad if I can find it. It shows them as being available at a certain time today. I think my wife trashed it though...

I went in yesterday to check if they updated the release date on mario superstar baseball and was told it was still 9/2. They seem to always be a couple of days off.

anyways, here the link to the frys ad if you can't find your hardcopy http://shopping.ocregister.com/ROP/ads.aspx?advid=179018&cat=49

Thats kinda goofy since it was in the system for 8/29. Or at least some day in August.

Edit: The GR site itself says they were released today, so I'm calling over....

And my boy tells me it'll be in stores anywhere between tomorrow and the 3rd. Guess I'm saving gas for now.
