Is there any truth on this? Been meaning to pick up a DS, and at half the retail price, why not? It just seems too good to be true... although a used DS prolly has a f#*ked up screen.

DS sells for $150 new...$99 would be a 33% cut, not 50%.
 
Went and picked up my NCAA 06 today and asked about the ncaa release party from last night. Three people showed up, 2 were employees who were off work at the time and then 1 guy came in at about 11:30 and hung around till midnight to rent it. LOL huge turnout!

Im THINKING of diong this. Trading in these two games: (Anyone know how much they would fetch in tradee credit?)

1. Ace Combat 5 (Im guessing $20)
2. MOH - Rising Sun GC - ($8 guess)

and getting... Shadow of the Colossus! This is really one of the only games since Eternal Darkness that Ive really wanted a few months before release. I fall more and more in love with it and its music whenever I see a trailer.

Only thing is Im worried when its released CC will have it for $3999 or something. Plus I have that $5 off coupon
 
I picked up my NCAA 06 (XBOX)....d/l the rosters using AR. Great game.

Also, the XBOX360 system is STILL not in the system, they do NOT have a part number yet.
 
Picked up my Pirates pre-order today (I didn't know until recently it retailed for $40... and it was on sale at Fry's for $30, go figure). It was the only copy they received, and apparently the only reason they got it is because I ordered it. I guess there is a bit of truth to the line about not wanting to switch pre-orders because of getting extra stock.

I thought I was going to have problems since the guy who was working when I pre-ordered did something funky and only had me pay $5 instead of the whole $30. The guy working today acknowledged that I was supposed to pay $25... and then charged me $22. I have no idea why, but I didn't complain.

Grrr... Tried to switch my GC NCAA 2006 to PS2 NCAA 2006. I knew I should have done this weeks ago, but I had a "promise" from the manager that I could switch once the games came in and it turned out there was no GC version. So much for that. I had even asked about the fact that I got it using the deal and he said that wouldn't be a problem. He didn't want to switch it then because he didn't want to get stuck with the extra stock in case it came in (where the info about not switching preorders referenced in the post above originally came from!). No problem getting stuck with extra GC copies of this game :D.

Well, today he still says he doesn't know there ISN'T a GC version and has no email from corporate telling him there isn't. He couldn't switch the game to PS2 because they have no $29.99 deal barcode right now. He delivered and then returned the (non-existent) GC version, but manually adjusted it to a $30 credit instead of $50. Then he said I could get the PS2 version but I'd have to pay the $20 difference. Let's see, so I'd get a wonderful deal where I traded 2 games and get a new one for $50! That's incredible!

He did say he'd put a note on the account to "make up" the $20 credit eventually - by giving me $1 or $2 extra in trade when I trade games in. Yeah, that sounds like it won't be a big hassle to keep track of :D. He wouldn't give me the $50 credit (even though I would be turning right around and using it on the PS2 version) because he said the auditor would get on his case about it. If he had an email from corporate saying the GC version doesn't exist he could attach that to the transaction and then give me the $50, but since he doesn't... You guys who get to return things for full price are damn lucky. I don't even want to do that - I just want a version of the game I preordered that actually exists!

In any case, I decided not to deal with it now and told him I'd think about it. I'm not sure how he left my account - hopefully with nothing changed, but now I'm not sure - I might have just the $30 credit back. If nothing else, I'd prefer to wait until the new preorder deal starts and then switch it to something different then (still wouldn't be able to get NCAA 2006 because it would not be a preorder then!). I'll just play the GC 2005 NCAA Football I got from Best Buy for $5 :D and forget about 2006 I guess.

I did get some new preorder lists an Battallion Wars for GC is on there now. I'll post anything else new later - right now I want to forget about GR for a bit.

Not sure how mad you were about it, but I would have been pretty much irate over the offer to have you pay an extra $20. For him to even make that suggestion is crap. And then to say he would make it up on trades... he sounds like a first class idiot.

I'd call whoever is over his head and press the issue.

I wasn't too mad at the time, though I got more so after I left :D.
I had made a special trip up there (20 miles round trip) jut to do that.
I need to goto the same area for other reasons later tonight and I am taking printouts from EA Sports web site with me. Maybe he'll take those... I DON'T want to deal with this right now, but I hate leaving things hanging like this too...

Not exactly sure...but I HIGHLY doubt they will be allowed in the upcoming deal.

Before you go, e-mail EA Sports and straight up ask them if a GC version is coming. With any luck, they'll have e-mailed you back before you go, and then you'll have even better proof.

Well, like I said, I got some new preorder lists at GR, so my trip wasn't a TOTAL waste. They are dated July 5th, so they might have added a few things since then.

The Outfit, in any case, is on there (release date 11/4), but none of the others.
 
Got my NCAA Football 2006 preorder today (sorry about what happened IO) Honestly though, I say wait for Madden, unless you are a huge college football fan. It is a good game though. I got a few more preorders also. On the 19th, I will trade in DAH! and MC3, and then preorder Mario Kart DS (only $5 savings, but is $40 as of now at GR) or an xbox game I have little interest in.

i am disappointed in ncaa 06, it's like night and day compared to nfl 2k5

Well, I went back in tonight with my EA Sport web site printouts. The manager wasn't there but the other guy who I've done deals with from the beginning (Jan of this year that is) was there and he fixed it all up in about 2 minutes flat. He took my printouts to show the other guy. He said it should have been much easier than it was and that I "should get the game I want". Now, THAT'S some customer service. I'm happy with GR again :D.

My only concern is that the manager will think I went behind his back to do it, but I really went in to show him the printouts and the other guy just took care of it without me even asking. So I guess he'll get in hot water, not me, if there is any problem with it. In any case, I'm out of town next week so I'll head on in the following weekend to try the new trade-in deal.

Drfrielgood, did you say Mario Kart and Animal Crossing were in the preorder system? The new sheet they gave me, dated July 5th, has neither. I'm wondering what else has been added between then and now. Later I will pull my old preorder lists out of the previous GR thread, update them with the new info I got today, and repost. Roufuss can then put them in the OP if he wants. Should be some valuable info for the new promo next week.
 
Yep, Animal Crossing and Mario Kart DS are both in the system, and both at $40. The list that is included in each map is helpful, but not completely comprehensive.
 
hey guys i just came back from GR and got my ncaa 06 preorder.. however, when i pulled it out of the plastic bag it looks like it was re-shrinkwrapped..and it also has a small transparent EA sticker on the back.. any of you guys that also got this game have this happen? or was it the normal new sealed wrapping?. should i just keep it or demand a different copy?.
 
OK, here's the Gamecube preorder list updated with changes through August 4th. Ones marked with * are new since the last list. Fire Emblem isn't on the list at all - maybe that is good - they finally cleared out the GBA game from the GC list. Now they just need to add the real one in!

Thanks for the list IO. I am sort of tempted to buy a PS2 if they will really be $100 used, but I think I will pass mainly because I have a strong interst in getting a PS3. No point of spending that $100 early, and also, I will be spending more on games now. I still hate the fact that I sold my PS2. I just wasn't into gaming at the time, so it seemed like the best thing to do. Bought an xbox, and became a huge video game player, and missed out on nearly every great PS2 game. Eh
 
Thanks a lot for the preorder lists IO. Great work. The only thing is...the games i want most aren't on there. For example, I love wild arms and I want to buy Wild Arms: Alter Code F. Where's that? Other games I want? Megaman X Collection and DDR: Mario Mix. If they had those three...i'd preorder those immediately. :)

Quick question: NCAA March Madness 2005 PS2 used to get 12.50 trade-in credit. Anyone know how much it gets now?

Glad to hear that turned out well for you. The manager really should be admonished by someone somewhere... he's supposed to take care of the customer, and worrying about being audited is his own problem, not yours. At least someone working there had some common sense.
 
I had a great trip to GR last night. I called before I left the house to verify both of my preorders, NCAA 06 and Pirates for xbox, were in. I was told that they would be waiting for me when I got there. I then drove the 20+ minutes it takes to get to the only GR in Oregon and guess what? Both games were there ready for me to pick up, however, the employee could not get Pirates to ring up correctly in the system, claiming it had a "wrong number". Even though on my account he could see that I had already payed for the game and it was sitting right there on the counter in front of me, he refused to let me take it home. He told me I had to come back tomorrow to pick it up.

I tried to convince him write down the transaction by hand and have the manager enter it into the system tomorrow...but no dice, I walked out a bit irritated. I will call the manager and see what I can do about getting something for my troubles.

Yep, something is screwed up with the Pirates SKU. The manager at my location had to cancel my pre-order, then credited my account with $40 and then rang up Pirates again and delivered it to me. I'm guessing this is going to be a pretty standard problem for anyone picking Pirates up.

Thanks for the lists....I'm either getting some PSP games (anyone know what ones RETAIL at $50????)

I may get a few XBOX games also....depends on what is available. Unless by some miracle 360 games are involved in this deal :)

I posted a response to this eariler in the GR preorder thread, so check there for the other titles (that are $40). But the only one I have on preorder that is $50 is Burnout Legends.

They won't get Wild Arms Alter Code F at all, don't even count on it.

Same problem when I picked up my copy... the employee had to do some manual stuff. When I walked in, he was already complaining out loud about having to do more work for the Blockbuster side than he does for his own side, and about how by the time he got one map done, another one came in (or something). Then he looked bothered when I told him I wanted to pick up my game, like he knew it was going to be a chore.

I can see why BB/GR is such a revolving door for employees now...
 
Does anyone know if Black is in the system at GR? Also, is there any kind of multiplayer mode?

I read somehwere that black wont include a online or multi mode. Dont know if that will hold true or not. I hope Microsoft reaches a price for the 360. Me and a few friends are itching to preorder this beast of a machine.

The last value I saw for Fable was $12. I'd guess THUG2 would be about $8 now.

I know,i was just talking about 360's launch price. Im busting at the seams waiting. I dont want to miss the first shipment. As for Black,it looks AMAZING.
