- As has been said, it starts on July 19th. I cannot remember offhand the date that it ends.

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

Game Pass

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

$21.99 for 1 Game

http://www.gamerush.com/rules_gamepass.php click this link to find out about gamepass at Gamerush.

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

GAMERUSH WEBSITE

This should have alot of stuff so please just search around the website before asking questions. Website updates happen but most deals are in effect way before they are updated on gamerush.com so check in the thread for the newest deals.
Only reason I put up with it is because I can get new releases for $10-$20 cash. Getting them for the price I would have to wait a year to pay is worth a few days lost. But honestly, once I have my DS, and maybe a few games via the trade 2, get new release for $30, I'm probably done for a while. Until their next too-good-to-pass-up deal comes along.
The price is nice, but really, it's just too much of a hassle playing the guessing game with them. Calling them up, asking when GTA (or whatever) game is in, they tell me Friday's date, when it could be in one of the box's just sitting there. Or having to call everyday just to find out when a release is in because they never call, and then having some new releases never showing up there. But usually, they just drone out Friday's date for whatever new release and never bother to look.

Maybe my Gamerush's are just shitty places to shop compared to everyone else's? I mean, yea, the deals are good, but this is just way too much hassle for me, plus the fact it's hard finding time in a day to get there. Not to mention they have the nasty habit of selling your preorder if you don't keep calling and reminding them you do have it on preorder.

I mean, it's like Blockbuster dosen't even want this to be successful and have just stopped trying. I thought after a few months maybe things would turn around, but things at the local GR's have just gotten worse.
Exactly.

Why does my local TRU have all the games in yet a game store dosen't?? I returned one of my copies of D2R2 I had found (forgot to trade it) back to TRU... it's not worth it dealing with GR's bullshit anymore, at least for me.

Just please let them have GTA and Metroid Pinball tommorrow so I can finally be done.... that whole X-Men Legends 2 fiasco has burned me like you wouldn't believe. Hell, it's one of the two reasons I even traded in the games, to get this for cheap, I just assumed they had it since it's a hot release.

I'm not sure how some of you frequent Gamerush shoppers don't pull your hair out over this kind of stuff. I mean, really, I feel bad for the people who preorder at full price with no deal because they expect to get the stuff in on time.
The only reason people put up with it is because of the the great trade in deals. If that ever goes away so will there business. They just keep pissing off people like me and others here who will happily pay full price for a game they want at launch rather than waiting for a price drop.

Some people here are lucky and have good stores and the rest of us have........

Mine isn't great, but there are a few knowledgable employees there, at least to the point where something constructive can be gained from calling them. I think the reason I don't mind as much is that they don't get a ton of business there, so the selling preorder thing isn't a big deal. Which also means I can afford to wait the few days till I have a chance to go down there. If it was more of a hassle, then I would certainly have the same feelings you have.

Looking for some random trade-in values on the following list of games, post em if you know em :

GC Def Jam fight for NY
Xbox Max Payne 2
Xbox Stake
Xbox Splinter Cell pandora tomorrow
Xbox Scrapland
PS2 R-type final
PS2 Wild Arms 3

Man I got shaq fu'd at my local Gamerush. They only had copies of Battlefield 2 for PS2 and not the Xbox. Clerk said they're getting the Xbox version on Friday. Now that's a GREAT COMPANY!. But who I am to complain, they have great deals though!

I got for-

DTR2 - 19
Radiata stories - 19

preordered castlevania COD

GTA wasn't in!

Got an Ada figure even though I didn't buy RE4.
arrgghhhh!!! I called my Gamerush and asked if Battlefied 2 for Xbox came in, she said not for rent, but they got 3 for sale. I said great, those are mine, I preordered 3. I proceeded to drive the 25 minutes it takes to get there...guess what? She was mistaken, they got in 3 copies of the PS2 version....the manager went on vacation yersterday (io -- 2-3 weeks to Africa) so the only thing she could offer me was a free non-new release movie rental for her mistake....I went to my locad Fred Meyer afterwards to "rent" one from them until I can get mine at Gamerush, but of course they have it listed as availabe November 6.
Man, that sucks. Remember someone (who no longer works there) at that store did that to me with the price-matching thing - went in twice for no reason. Anyway, I went in this evening and picked up Metroid Pinball and DDR Mario. They had the DDR Mario still in the packing box and just pulled it for me. Both of those were actually released Monday though, so that's standard. Ratchet Deadlocked was NOT in yet, but since that was a Tues. release I would expect it tomorrow.

As for them getting PS2 and not Xbox version of the same game, that is strange. But based on the other comment from matrixrok9, it seems to be a system-side issue for this particular game. Sounds much like the Battalion Wars glitch where it came in 1 1/2 weeks late, system-wide. But being a Gamecube person I always make sure to ask when I call about multi-platform games that they have the GC version, and not just the others - but this is born of GR shafting the GC a bit on preorders/store stock...

My experience tonight was pleasant enough though. I checked the system for Odama - no dice... Also, still no Suikoden for PS2 or PSP, and no Xenosaga (just found out about this one!) or Electroplankton for DS. I didn't bother asking about the others since I just checked a few days ago. I would have expected Electroplankton to be in there since it does have a US release date now. So I have several games to trade and nothing really to preorder.

Xenosaga II does get $12.50 at GR and only $6 at regular BB's - how bizarre. I did see it tagged $19.99 new, and $24.99 used. I really want to get at least one more copy in there before they change it - I may just trade it without a preorder (gasp!).

Interestingly enough, their used game stock seems to be very low right now. I'm not sure if they have really sold a ton, or if they just shifted some of it to storage or another (out of state) store.

All of these other preorders I've picked up the last few weeks will be put aside come next week - Star Wars Battlefront II time...

Dinovelvet - back when I was comparing GR and EB trade-in values (only when EB had the $5 bonus thing which made them close on many games) I was quoted only a measly $3 for R-Type Final at GR. I traded a few in at EB and got $8 with the bonus. That is one of the few games that was the same ($3) at both places. But this was a few weeks ago.

If they don't get BF2:MC for XB in today, and still only have the PS2 version in, I'm going to fucking flip. If they don't have RE4 for PS2 in, there'll be a massacre at 9 Mile and Middlebelt! >: D

Hopefully my GR will call me about DDR Mario today... and hopefully I can get someone to let me back into my apartment before that. Stupid auto-locking doors.

To be honest, unless I'm in the area for some other reason, I usually only visit GR on the weekends. So vagarities of a day or two isn't much of a big deal to me. Except that they just last week opened a new EB closer to me, travelling to GR is about the same amount of time investment as going to any other game store, and I've got a number of stores in my travel radius.

So, for me, I have virtually no frustration. Before GR, I would only get brand-new games when they were a sure-bet for me. I think I pre-ordered about three games total pre-GR. Now, I can regularly turn a $15 investment into a new release game. And if I don't like it, I can usually turn right around and get $30 towards another game to try. It's cheaper than a rental service, and I never have to deal with sloppy seconds from a previous renter. My library has grown significantly, and I have enough leftover credit to purchase a next generation console.

I understand the frustration of not being able to get games on release day, but my backlog is so large it's a non-issue for me personally.
