- As has been said, it starts on July 19th. I cannot remember offhand the date that it ends.

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

GAMERUSH WEBSITE

This should have alot of stuff so please just search around the website before asking questions. Website updates happen but most deals are in effect way before they are updated on gamerush.com so check in the thread for the newest deals.

http://www.gamerush.com

just called and chatted with a bb employee. GR on sepulveda and manhattan beach still has the trade 2 preorder 29.99 deal.

Asked about some game trade in prices:
PS2 RE4 - 28
PS2 Spartan - 30

is it me or is the gr website not up to date, and are they lowballing on the new releases. i remember new releases going for $35 ea. they lowballed me on PS2 xmen legends 2 - 28, PS2 Radiata Stories - 19, PS2 MK Shaolin monks - 27, when the newest games are listed as trade on their website clearly for 30/ea. comments anyone?

I actually received a telephone call from GR about 10 minutes after they opened letting me know my copy of STBF2 was waiting for me. :hot: This is not my normal store, I'd be willing to bet money if I called now that they'd tell me it wont be out till friday..........

Trade-In prices have sucked latley. New $50 releases are only trading in for $28 (Stubbs for example). Ive been done with GR for a while, and only went back to dump some D2R2s and pre-order a few games with it. Other then that, Ill stick with Game Crazy.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I haven't seen it here.

Went to GR this afternoon and pre-ordered Kameo & PGR3 and the prices are now changed in the system to $49.99.

They also let me change over all my Xbox pre-orders to 360 pre-orders just by paying the price difference. I also got some accessories pre-ordered, so they seem to be getting more on top of things when it comes to the 360.

Thanks for the news, I may have to go pre-order Kameo today now.
Traded in last night:
Tron 2 Xbox - $13.50
Power Drome Xbox - $12.00

pre-order Matrix Path of NEO (they would not let me get LE version)
There isn't going to be a Limited Edition, it seemed to be cancelled quite a while ago. Gamerush apparently didn't get the memo!

Sweet news about the 360 games at the RIGHT prices. I'll have to go switch some later this week. I just picked up SW:BF2 today also. I take it Perfect Dark Zero is also $50????

Now, do I switch Gun & King Kong to the 360 versions or do I switch to Perfect Dark Zero and PGR3? I guess I can just rent Gun for XBOX and see if I like it.

I wonder if they work with the pre-order deal though? If stores are still having it.

I guess I'll call about anything new after work today, need to find out from somebody if my red DS will be available at the end of the month anyway.

Yep, Perfect Dark is also $50 in their system now. I just got back from changing a couple of pre-orders that I had placed earlier over to Kameo and Perfect Dark.

Regular version of PDZ is $50, Collector's version is $60. Unfortunately, even with the new price update in their computers, the computer wouldn't let me preorder for $30 with the trade-in deal.

Are the employees having to override the computer to preorder the 360 games using the trade 2 deal or is it automatically accepting them now?

They are updating the website soon... also, remodeling most of the stores - new/used games on the outside walls and rentals in the middle.

Thanks for the updates...time to switch my XBOX games to 360 this week (hopefully).

Hopefully the pre-order deal continues....I'll trade 2 more and pre-order Mark Ecko (then switch that at a later date)

Gun = Perfect Dark Zero
King Kong = ?????? (either 360 version or Ghost Recon 3)

I would say that switching over your Xbox pre-orders to 360 pre-orders is YMMV. I have had an assistant manager say no to doing that, but the store manager didn't have a problem with it. I am also one of their best customers, so that can't hurt.

I did not do the trade 2 deal with those -- I switched over existing Xbox pre-orders.

I can't see how they are able to deny people from doing the 2 for $30 deal on the $50 Xbox360 titles. Even if the system doesn't allow them to, and they need to do it manually. The deal does not specifically say it only applies to certain systems, just that they need to be $49.99 or lower, which they are. The only stipulation about certain systems, is games you can trade in.

I will be going there tomorrow fully expected to be able to do the deal for the 3 $50 X360 games, and if not, I will raise a stink with their DM.
Does anyone know if Starcraft Ghost is in their system for preorder?
I think I saw it on the list for 12/06 yes 06

" Trade 2, get a pre-order for $29.99! Get great games like: Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Pokemon XD: Gale Of Darkness, Socom 3: US Navy Seals, The Warriors, Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland, and Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

copied right off their website. It does not say anything about it having to be for a certain system, it just says a selling price of 49.99 or less.
The preorder deal is still going on at my store. I was able to preorder a PS2 game and she used the coupon w/o any problems.
What coupon? Or are you referring to the bar code they scan?

I hope mine is still doing the deal. I think the signage was still up when I picked up my BattleFront II today.

As for getting 360 games...good luck. You can always just pre-order a normal game, then switch it. But that is YMMV also.

Hi, here are some trade in prices from today:

Dead to Rights 2 Xbox - $20
Xenosaga 2- $6
Snowblind - $3.25
Tron 2.0 Xbox - $13.50

The trade in deal 2 for a pre-order was still in effect.

Thanks,
I see you are in Oregon - could you tell us WHERE in OR this BB was? This is of great interest to me :D.
The BB was in Corvallis OR, on Circle.

On another note, i went to trade in a copy of D2R2 today, and found out my trading account has been suspended. The manager is on vacation, so no one could really tell me whats going on or any details.
The funny thing is, ive only traded in 1 PS2 and 1 XB D2R2 (and those were actually the first games ive ever traded at BB. Seems a bit ridiculous to me, but i just laughed. At lease i got my money back on those first 2 trades.

Signage was still up at my GR as well, though I didn't make any trades/preorders today. I picked up Star Wars Battlefront II for both PS2 and PSP - was a bit surprised the PSP version was there as I figured that would be a couple weeks late :D. I then went to Target and it appeared they did NOT have the PSP version, so score one for GR/BB.

How is the PSP version?

I may rent it.....is it 2.0 required?

Oh well, I have to return a game this week....guess I'll see what they have in and try to do some switching!

That's just wierd. They are all over the place with this "enforcement" (though I use that term loosely as it seems they are banning people who follow their rules so I'm not sure what they are enforcing). I've never been to stores in Corvallis though. It's not like they would have a flood of D2R2 there - the closest TRUs are in Salem and Albany, right? And I can't imagine they had that many copies there. Very strange indeed...

Doubledown - haven't cracked it open yet, maybe I'll give it a try tonight. I haven't even turned my PSP on for 4 months so the battery is probably dead :D.

Picked up SWBF2 for PS2 (after receiving a call that it was in). I asked at this store and was told that the trade in 2 deal was still in effect. I was able to cancel a preorder for Okami and switch it to PDZ.

Trade prices from today....

PS2 Powerdrome $6
PSP NBA Street Showdown $12.50
XBOX Galleon $19

Pre-ordered Shadow the Hedgehog.

They had Castlevania in stock today. Imagine that. We went to EBGames to pick up Castlevania and they didn't have it....so we went back to Blockbuster and got Castlevania.

Picked up SW:BF2 and are you sitting down.....get ready....almost....yup Blitz for XBOX. The GR manager said they only got 1 out of 6 that were ordered and since I kept asking everytime I came in, I was the lucky one to get it. I asked if there were any new deals and he said that he thinks that the 25% extra when you trade in 3 or more will last till the end of the month, as for the trade 2 preorder for 29.99 he said it should be good for a long while...but nothing is set in stone.

GRRRR... HOW can this "last" when it isn't running any more anyway!? I know, it is running there for some reason. Is it actually in the MAP for these SoCal stores, or just a thing at the particular store (or stores) you go to? Like I said before, they actually tried to give me the bonus here the week after the actual promo ended (which was a while ago now!) and they said it didn't work (computer wouldn't let them). Man I wish that deal was lasting till the end of any month here...

Off to play some more SW Battlefront... I just can't get the hang of those space battles yet...

Well, they are within their rights to restrict what you can preorder. The rules state: "Prices, availability and selection may vary by location." They just decide 360 games are not part of the 'selection'. All stores in my area were sent an email from the regional office specifically indicating 360 games are not part of the current promotion, regardless of price. This was a few months ago, but still within the current preorder deal. I ask every so often and get the same answer - some even go through the motions of trying to apply the barcode with no love.

It's a bummer, but I wouldn't go crazy about it. Expect to alienate yourself if you make a big deal to upper management, as they seem more than willing to suspend trading accounts for whatever reason they feel like. It's not like you're being personally slighted - except for a few lucky people, this restriction is otherwise universal across the whole chain. So it's not like the Best Buy Bucks situation where the stores are inventing their own rules.

Having not seen any figures, it's also possible that the wholesale price of 360 games is higher than in the current generation, so it might be a financial reason behind the exclusion. I don't know this to be true, but it wouldn't surprise me.

In any case, I accidentally double-preordered Spartan, so I'm going to see about switching the second one to a 360 game this weekend. Couldn't hurt to ask.

well I just went in and tried the preorder deal with the 50 dollar 360 games. I took the printout of their website and everything and got a big no. And as for the person that asked about trade in prices for that $10 racing pack at walmart. Powerdrome gets $6, Ford Racing 3 gets $1.25, and motocross mania gets $1.25. So it's pretty much useless.

Yeah, those $1.25 titles wouldn't even qualify for the preorder deal.

Does anyone know if gamerush will be getting in guitar hero? I know you couldn't pre-order it, but I'm hoping they still get it in because THE GAME IS fuckIN AWESOME.

Is there still an established relationship between what a game sells for and what the trade value will be? (for example $16.99 games get $8 in trade)

Regardless, you would be surprised what Blockbuster does (read: DM's) for their customers. I have had some issues in the past that they have helped me with.

I did go to my local Gamerush today, and asked about doing the 2 for $30 deal on the $50 X360 games. The employee first didn't know there were any $50 games, then once he checked, he asked the Gamerush manager, and he said that I can do the deal on the $50 ones.

Then ofcourse, when he tried to do it, it wouldn't allow it. All he did was ask the regular Manager that was there, and he told him to go ahead and override it.

P.S. DM's aren't upper management. :)
