Game Pass

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

$21.99 for 1 Game

http://www.gamerush.com/rules_gamepass.php click this link to find out about gamepass at Gamerush.

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).
so do you guys think we will get the trade 2 games get a new game for $29.99 again???
Not a chance in hell. I suspect that the buy 2 get one free will make a return. This, of course, is just speculation.

Has anyone seen any 360s lately at their GameRush? I know Gamestops have been getting a few every week, but it seems like Gamerush isn't getting any at all.

My gamerush says they wont get any in til March, and then i think they gotta take care of their pre-orders...

As for future deals, im kinda hoping for a buy X get X free, or 1/2 off, something along those lines would be great, especially for stocking up on 360 games.

I'm actually hoping the preorder deal comes back, as that's pretty much the only chance I have at getting most of the DS games I want there, not that the last one saved much (only a deal on $35 and $40 games). I plan on preordering a bunch anyway, might as well be able to save a few bucks.

Traded Kuon & Echo Night Beyond at local BB. Manager didn't quite know how to do trade-ins on the cash register and had to call another BB. Waited almost 10 minutes before leaving with $48 credit.

Anyone know what Gamerush gives for a Time Crisis: CZ w/guncon? I know they sell the game only cheap...like $12. But I figure the big box version with the gun would scan for more.

I'd love to get out of Blockbuster in only 10 minutes. Mine always has a 20 minute line, and that's with 3 registers running.

A few trade-in prices from Sunday...

Psychonauts (PS2) - $21 (down a few bucks from last week?)
Samurai Western (PS2) - $19

I had to wait 20 minutes as well... I hadn't traded in GR in a long time, and I'm started to remember why I hate it. Nobody is EVER manning that stupid desk, so then you have to flag down a BB employee, they find the GR employee, then he starts the long (and often times slow as hell) task of trading in your games.
Has anyone tried the 25% off used game today?
I will be this evening unless someone tells me it's done first.

And only one out of five trips is there any sort of line at either BB or GR to do trade-ins.

I've never had to deal with a line... it's just finding the damn employee.

80% of the time they are across the store talking with the Blockbuster employees, and then they write sooooooo incredibly slow.

I love GR's antiquated trading system, where they have to take every bit of personal information available.

Really? I always do all my trading and whatnot at the regular desk unless there is actually someone standing by the GR desk. All I do is authorize the trade, sign the slip, and walk out. Last time the girl even tried to give me my games back (as if I were renting). Only time any information has gone to them was when signing the trade agreement at each of three stores.

Weird... maybe it's different here because I'm in Florida?

None of the Blockbuster employees will do trades if a GR employee is somewhere in the building... they refuse to, stating they aren't authorized. Then, the GR employee has this big huge piece of paper... on it they put my name, address, weight, eye color, work phone number, place of work, information about the game, the whole nine yards, and then a fingerprint.

There have been times I couldn't trade at all because the GR employee was out to lunch or on a break, I either had to wait or come back later.

Wow... is Florida that crazy, or is Ohio just that cool (time to create a tongue-in-cheek smiley)?
Wow... is Florida that crazy, or is Ohio just that cool (time to create a tongue-in-cheek smiley)?
Yup, Florida is that crazy, or at least Pinellas County (St. Petersburg). The law here says that game trades are handled the same as selling to a pawn shop, so they treat you as a potential criminal, with a thumbprint required and everything. I was told by a GR employee that they have to hold the games in the back for 2 weeks before they can sell them, in case they're reported stolen.

Its not all locations, Pinellas county has a law with places that trade in games, they have to take that information, then they send it off to the country where they run background checks on you. They dont do it at the locations in Pasco/Hillsborough County.

Holy crap, i just looked on ebay at the prices of Phoenix Wright, $35-55. I definately need to pick up a bunch at Gamerush, if they have it. Seems like an easy way to turn store credit into cash.

Yea, it's true at all the EB's / GS's here too. It's because it actually happened - I can find the news article, but some kid broke into a woman's house, stole her system and games, sold them to EB for cash, they caught the kid and he admitted it, and when the woman went to EB they told her they had already sold her stuff and they gave her a gift card for way less then what she'd have to pay to buy it back.

There were some Phoenix Wright's down here... not so much though. Bought up by other local CAG's.

It's that way in Orange, Osceola, Polk, and Seminole counties, too. I'm not really sure why the 'law' only applies to GameRush, though. EB and GameStop don't seem to care.

In general, the only time I'm inconvenienced is when the worker decides that since they made a mistake on the form, they need to fill out a brand new one all the way from the beginning.

I really wish they'd let us take forms with us to pre-fill what we are trading, or come up with some kind of printable form that uses our account info and what got scanned.

My sons don't mind getting to play the demo kiosks for ten minutes or so while I process my trades. The value in return is usually worth it.
Has anyone tried the 25% off used game today?
25% off used games is still working today. Multiple GameRushes have told me that it ends tomorrow (ie. this is the last day to use the 25% off sale).

Some trade-in values that I got today:

Alien Hominid (PS2) $10
Final Fantasy I & II (GBA) $10

What really got me, the 1 time i went to a pinellas store, is when they asked about my height & weight, i dont carry a scale on me, so i just pulled a # out of my ass.

It made me wonder what would happen if they asked the wrong person that question. You'd be suprised what a some people will do if asked her weight. Some women take that more personally than asking their cup size (though maybe they should add that to their list of information they need). God forbid they get an over-sensitive fat otaku gamer, then there will be hell to pay.

>< Actually, my avatar is of a guy. Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist (greatest anime ever)

I'm not huge, but I've got some extra weight on me. I always find amusement in their discomfort in asking the question. Most of them check the computer first to see if it's on my record.

Same here... At my GR they don't have what roufuss calls "Gamerush" employees. They've eliminated all their hours to save money and let the regular BB people handle the games. The "GR counter" is used exclusively for storage and piling things up. However, the regular BB people there are pretty good about dealing with trades. And no writing down of any info either :D. If there's no line it takes 2 minutes to trade games, tops. That is, as long as I'm not trying to do something like switch preorders or whatnot .

They used to have GR employees a year ago - or more accurately regular BB employees who had certain GR hours specifically assigned to them. One guy told me the DM decided they didn't need such hours as they should be able to handle both parts of the store on their regular hours.

Hehe, when I first clicked on this thread today it took me right to your post and I had missed all the Florida trade-in procedure BS. I was wondering what, in the hell, this had to do with GR tradeins! :D

Does anybody elses Gamerush ever answer the phone? Either that, or the BB employees answer it and don't know how to look up trade values.

Wondering how much DMC 3 or MGS 3 trade in for... I can't sell them for more then a few bucks here or EB / GS because people know of the special editions, but GR might still give a nice chunk of credit for DMC 3.

Well, like I said, no GR employees to speak of. So I just call a regular BB and ask - don't want to pester the GR too much and bring too much attention to myself after all :).

The BB employees at the location I call always say "Oh, hold on, let me go find the Gamerush person" or they just don't answer the phone =/ Was hoping someone knew the used price on DMC 3 and I could just do the backwards method to figuring it out... I expect it would get at least $12, if the used price is around $24?

MSRP on the old version is still $30, right?

Seems like a good way to trade up to the special edition, for those of you whose Gamerush gets games in on time.

Can't you call a non-GR BB? Then they can't use the "find the GR person" excuse on you :D.

Edit - just remembered another sucky thing about Florida :) - aren't they like the only state that doesn't do tradeins at regular BBs? So that would negate my previous advise. Well, if you have a cell phone with free long distance minutes you could always call a BB in another state.

If you're not in a hurry, I can ask when I go over there tonight.

OP, i traded FIFA Street for Xbox today and only got $12 in credit. might wanna change that.

Roufuss, i doubt you'll get much from GR for MGS3 considering they sell it for $14.99.

I always save phone #s to GRs, so when I have questions about tradein prices, I just call them all up and ask them for one game each.
Wow, I'm always in and out. Sucks to be you guys I guess!
Yah, but you live in Texas and the shirt and shoes rule keeps the stores empty there. :p
is echo night and kuon still fetching 24?
Indeed. Got both today, and preordered AOE DS and Chibi Robo. Strangely, AOE is 39.99 in the system, everyone else has it listed for 29.99. Hopefully that'll drop $10 by the time it comes out. They don't price match, do they? :p

Sorry Roufuss, realized as I was halfway home that I forgot to ask about DMC3. They were actually busy tonight (i.e. one person in front of me and one person behind me)

I may try to find another ECHO NIGHT/KUON or Galleon and my GAmeStop. We'll see. MY luck, trade value will drop tomorrow. Not a big deal...I try not to abuse it like most people here who trade in 5+ copies.
has anybody noticed the gamerush website doesn't display their "top 10" trade-in prices anymore? or has this already been covered?
i noticed it too... but I guess it doesnt hurt to call them.

Traded in Echo Night and Kuon for $51 credit (w/tax) and found a used but perfect Phoenix Wright for DS, it was only $20 after the 25% off.

I was going to preorder Fight Night Round 3 for the 360 but the manager told me to wait because they are having trouble with their suppliers and are having hard times getting games in on time. I really need to find stuff to buy and resell to turn my credit into near equal cash so I can just get my games at EB. Wish I could find a Mario Kart DS bundle or a couple Mario DDRs to flip real easily....

NFS:MW 360 (and xbox, ps2) $28

Saw this today on the board it should hold steady at 28 for a lil while. I didn't trade it since I can sell it for more than that and get cash.
