Here's a short list of games for you to try out, besides the ones you have listed:
Psi-Ops-It's a shooter, where you get some cool abilities like telekinesis(move stuff with your mind), pyrokinesis(torch stuff with your mind), remote viewing(seeing what's ahead of you by looking through walls) and so on. Very fun title.
Pirates: The Legend Of Black Kat- Part platformer, part action game. You play as a female pirate, looking for buried treasure(the rumble feature of the DS 2 tells you where the chests are buried)and fighting all sorts of interesting enemies(from pirates to ghost pirates to giant enemy crabs).
War Of The Monsters- If you've ever seen any of those old 1950's shlocky sci-fi 'horror' movies with giant alien robots and stuff, this is like playing AS them throughout MANY levels(including a scaled down version of 1950's Vegas).
Futurama- It's like playing through a series of episodes of the show. If you're a fan, it's definitely a game to try out, since the people who do the voices for the show, did the voices for the game.
That's just FOUR games, which I owned myself at one point, but each one of them brought me alot of hours of fun and entertainment. Oh and you definitely need to get the original God Of War before the second one, since otherwise the story may make no sense if you don't play them in order.
Here's a bunch more I almost forgot about:
Psychonauts- You play as Raz, a young psychic in training, learning to use his powers. Many people you meet have the ability to help you in some small way, but you must enter their minds and take on their demons to learn your true potential. Very unique title with some very 'interesting' visuals.
Mercenaries- It's basically a GTA clone, but you play as a mercenary who can do missions for various countries(S. Korea, China, US, etc). You can call in air strikes, which range from cluster bombs to a huge bomb called a bunker buster. The game world is mostly destructible and I found myself obliterating whole towns off the map just for kicks at times. Fun game.
Just Cause- This is yet another GTA clone, but yet another fun one. You can carjack people while the cars are moving by carsurfing and jumping from your car to theirs. You can also skyjack helicopter pilots by parasailing behind a car until you're near the same height as the chopper. Disengage your grappling gun from the car you're sailing behind and fire it at the chopper to skyjack them. FUN, FUN game with lots of INSANE stunts possible.
The Suffering- Action game where you can transform into a monster after you've built up enough energy. It takes place in a prison, which has a long and storied(and pretty evil) past. There was a sequel called Ties That Bind, which was not as well received as the original. This was a fun and scary game. It's a combination of survival horror and action game.
Manhunt- You play as James Earl Cash, a convicted murderer who was to be put to death. But, 'The Director' has faked your death and made you part of his sick and twisted little snuff film. Very gruesome game where you can do 3 levels of 'kills', each one more horrifying than the last. If you have a mic, you can use it to make noise to attract the hunters coming after you to their deaths by your hands.
Manhunt had a sequel released late last year. Much like many other Rockstar games, it was surrounded in controversy, due to a particularly gruesome kill animation that involved castration(I believe). The sequel was edited to include a blurring censor filter to pass muster with the ESRB. The sequel is $10 @ Blockbuster if you can find it.
Most of the games I mentioned are available cheap from Gamestop. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I did.
