I have had a ps2 since release and rarely play it aside from sports games, the only non-sports games i have are dynasty warriors 4, jak 2, GTAs,dmc, and sly. i m thinking off completely bundling off my collection in 3-5 game sets on ebay and starting from scratch, i want to have a small yet amazing library, here is a list of what i have considered:

-God Of War 1+2
-Shadow Of The Colossus
-ICO
-Persona 3 or (FES) whats the difference?
-Digital Devil Saga Deluxe edition
-Nocturne
-Metal Gear Solid(Never played don't know where to start, Essential Colection Perhaps?)
-Okami
-Rogue Galaxy( Have a great feeling about this compared to all SMTs because i love action-rpgs)
-Fatal Frame

Get FES, FES includes regular Persona 3 and an added chapter.
If you like action RPGs I think you should put Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Legendia up there because the tales games use a different battle system that is really enjoyable.
Also, Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 are also a pretty good idea and from what I've heard you should also get Final Fantasy 12.
If you liked DMC you should try Chaos Legion its like DMC, but it differs.
Also, if you plan to get DDS, I've heard that if you plan on getting the first you need to get the 2nd to fully complete the story.
Last thing you might like Odin Sphere its a brawler with RPG aspecs.

thanks will check out all the tales games, i owned ffxii at one point but traded it, its not bad at all i just liked the trade, if it means anything i have blue dragon that game isnt too bad.odin sphere sounds good aswell

i m thinking of starting off with the metal gears, hopefully that keeps me ocuppied for a while

Get Metal Gear Solid Essentials for sure. The first one is great. I was disappointed with the second, but the third more than made up for it. Excellent, excellent series.
FFXII pleas pass on that bro, get persona FES
well, Persona 3 Boxset < Persona FES? they are essentially the same price, Box set is 29.99 and fes 24.99 used at gs, i was just thinking Box set for rarity purposes
No get FES, Its enhanced with extras.
Also, you don't know the condition of everything from the used Persona 3
Never thought of it that way, i guess FES wins both ways, price and extra content.

after reviewing my collection i see i have some decent games but most are overpowered by the pure garbage. i will probably dump everything i currently have except for my brothers games and DMC.

i think i will start with metal gear solid first, seems like an amazing series, how should i start with it?

i know but aren't there like variations like, subsistence, twin snakes, liberty, or is the essentially collection good enough, good thing i still have my ps1 memory card apparently i need that for the first metal gear.

I think you should start with the essential collection.
Note: MSG 3: Subsistence in the Essential Collection only contains disc 1 either you should buy a separate one or try to find disc 2 only which I think would be hard.
Also, you should try buy DMC 3 if the only one you have is the first one.
Resident Evil 4 freaked me out, great game nonetheless.
have the wii edition already, and completed it, anyone have the mgs ec for trade?

Which is better, if either, the Gamecube or PS2 version of Resident Evil 4? Is there any difference between them? Edit: no, I don't have a Wii, so that version is out.

if you dont play a lot of RPGs before get FFX first.

God of War 2 is $10 so it is a good game at a low price.

MGS Essential Colection is a great way to start

i m going to cash in my change and get the mgs essential collection, in the meantime ill be playing san andreas and devil may cry,

I did not enjoy FFXII at all :( better off with persona series.
Kingdom hearts and MGS are great games.. rogue galaxy..bit of a disappointment to me..it's ok though (i rented it before i bought it thank goodness T.T) Fatal frame is kickass too , i would go with some fighting games too like tekken or soul calibur but that's just me.
i am ordering mgs essentials tomarrow after school, is it rare and at 20 bucks shipped after gco is this a good deal.
That's pretty good since it is 30$ at GS. Whats gco?

Personally I'd go with the Gamecube version over the PS2 version. Check out this website to see the differences: http://www.gameswelike.com/web/re/RE%20Comp.htm

Well my ps2 has gotten so much play time i rarely play 360 now, i just play ps2 all night, since i just recently recieved MGS Essentials(in mail) GoW2 and Persona 3(in mail), i have been loving god of war just sometimes i dont even know what to do.

Persona 3 FES? or just Persona 3. Thats the next thing I need to get after my video game buying ban is over.
I highly recommend FF X now that I've played it.

Box set but it was used from gamestop, i hope everything comes , if not apparently my local store just recently got a copy, i may be able to exchange the copy.

Here's a short list of games for you to try out, besides the ones you have listed:

Psi-Ops-It's a shooter, where you get some cool abilities like telekinesis(move stuff with your mind), pyrokinesis(torch stuff with your mind), remote viewing(seeing what's ahead of you by looking through walls) and so on. Very fun title.

Pirates: The Legend Of Black Kat- Part platformer, part action game. You play as a female pirate, looking for buried treasure(the rumble feature of the DS 2 tells you where the chests are buried)and fighting all sorts of interesting enemies(from pirates to ghost pirates to giant enemy crabs).

War Of The Monsters- If you've ever seen any of those old 1950's shlocky sci-fi 'horror' movies with giant alien robots and stuff, this is like playing AS them throughout MANY levels(including a scaled down version of 1950's Vegas).

Futurama- It's like playing through a series of episodes of the show. If you're a fan, it's definitely a game to try out, since the people who do the voices for the show, did the voices for the game.

That's just FOUR games, which I owned myself at one point, but each one of them brought me alot of hours of fun and entertainment. Oh and you definitely need to get the original God Of War before the second one, since otherwise the story may make no sense if you don't play them in order.

Here's a bunch more I almost forgot about:

Psychonauts- You play as Raz, a young psychic in training, learning to use his powers. Many people you meet have the ability to help you in some small way, but you must enter their minds and take on their demons to learn your true potential. Very unique title with some very 'interesting' visuals.

Mercenaries- It's basically a GTA clone, but you play as a mercenary who can do missions for various countries(S. Korea, China, US, etc). You can call in air strikes, which range from cluster bombs to a huge bomb called a bunker buster. The game world is mostly destructible and I found myself obliterating whole towns off the map just for kicks at times. Fun game.

Just Cause- This is yet another GTA clone, but yet another fun one. You can carjack people while the cars are moving by carsurfing and jumping from your car to theirs. You can also skyjack helicopter pilots by parasailing behind a car until you're near the same height as the chopper. Disengage your grappling gun from the car you're sailing behind and fire it at the chopper to skyjack them. FUN, FUN game with lots of INSANE stunts possible.

The Suffering- Action game where you can transform into a monster after you've built up enough energy. It takes place in a prison, which has a long and storied(and pretty evil) past. There was a sequel called Ties That Bind, which was not as well received as the original. This was a fun and scary game. It's a combination of survival horror and action game.

Manhunt- You play as James Earl Cash, a convicted murderer who was to be put to death. But, 'The Director' has faked your death and made you part of his sick and twisted little snuff film. Very gruesome game where you can do 3 levels of 'kills', each one more horrifying than the last. If you have a mic, you can use it to make noise to attract the hunters coming after you to their deaths by your hands.

Manhunt had a sequel released late last year. Much like many other Rockstar games, it was surrounded in controversy, due to a particularly gruesome kill animation that involved castration(I believe). The sequel was edited to include a blurring censor filter to pass muster with the ESRB. The sequel is $10 @ Blockbuster if you can find it.

Most of the games I mentioned are available cheap from Gamestop. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I did.

Hey man, finish off the Jak series. One of the ONLY series that I have ever replayed in my life. Usually I play a game and thats it, but Jak sucks you in with its characters and story, and I just love it. I would recommend GOW out of those you picked, but thats cus I'm not really down with most of those other titles.
