It's a generally accepted fact that when a game is released on multiple systems, it is usually the xbox version that is the best. But, this is not always the case. Sometimes, the ps2 version is better. Some examples (not including pre - 2005 EA sports releases, which are just too obvious if you want to play online, and are not the best on ps2 if you don't or can't play online). Here is what I can think of:
Definite
Spy Hunter - XBox version too dark and harder to see, among other problems.
SSX Tricky - fewer shoulder buttons means fewer moves on XBox.
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 - XBox version was handled by a different developer, and not only looked inferior, but the sense of speed was far below the ps2 version.
MGS2 Substance - While the extra modes may have been worth putting up with the slowdown and frame rate inconsistancies, the release of this version on the ps2 made these problems harder to swallow. The only advantage the xbox version now has is that it is often much cheaper.
Silent Hill 2 - Like MGS2 Substance, the XBox had an extra playable character and more content, but the Greatest Hits re-release on ps2 left no reason to put up with the slowdown.
Possibly
SSX 3, NBA Street Vol. 2, any Tony Hawk, and lots of others - One reason - the ps2 controller. It's the best controller on the market, and, though the ps2 versions may not look as good as the XBox versions, the better controller makes up for this.
