GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

Bryehn, You're welcome! I think it's a good idea for a business too and I want to make it work the best I can. If you have any suggestions or comments or questions please let me know ^_^ I'm all ears!

Azumangaman, The good news is that I have 10 copies of Persona 3 FES and I can order Rondo of Swords any time for you =) Let me know if you are interested when you have some spending cash.

I'm going to order some copies of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for the DS. If any of you guys have been waiting to order it now is a great time to get it ^_^

Goomba, is there a currency exchange rate fees on us paypal account for accepting Canadian $? If so, is there a particular rate? Thanks (sorry about jumping off topic but you have more experience in this area).

Post a canadian price

hero101, yes there is a 4.9% rate to change Canadian Dollars to US Dollars plus a full $0.30 CAD fee from Paypal. Don't worry though, if you buy from my website, all fees and such are added into the price of the games. I've also gone ahead and fixed the shipping rates so now they are exactly accurate and very specific (go up per ounce). All game weights are the actual game weights too so you'll find the shipping is much better now at calculating actual costs =)

Thanks again guys!

Maigoyume has it right. All prices on the site are up to date and now are in CAD as the standard. So you shouldn't have any problem calculating the final price with shipping now (very easy to do as it's all automated). Right now I'm working on the main page to make it easier to see how you can sign up, and then I'm going to do a page with shipping prices so you can see ahead of time if you want. I want to make my operations as transparent as possible :)

Thanks again guys!

I have added a "Sign Up" Beaver that is clickable on the main page that should make it much easier for people to find where they should be going to sign up, as the "Log in" thing was pretty tricky and confusing for people. I'll work on making it easier and easier as I go along. Your suggestions have all proven very, very useful. Thanks so much everyone!

Updates: I've added the Shipping Table so you can see from anywhere from 1 ounce all the way up to 4 pounds of gaming goodness. I've spelled out all the prices and fees in total.

I'm going to work on the return policy pages and all that good stuff, but that'll take me a bit longer ^_^ Bear with me. It's all coming together!

You know what would be cool?
If you could add Xbox live membership cards.

They retail for $59.99 here in canada, and are only $39.99 in some stores in the USA. Infact, I need one for tonight since mine just expired :(

I'd buy an Live card from you if you could get them for a good price. Not right away though this has been an expensive month. The best part would be no actual shipping required. You can't do points cards for us though the Canadian consoles can't use them. :(
By the way the site's looking/working fine on Safari web browser.

I definitely could get you an xbox live card. If I was home right now I would give you a 48 hour code but I won't be home until past midnight tonight. Maybe I an send you one tomorrow. Any idea where to find an xbox live card for 40? Fill me in. Help me help you.

Besides, I was told that under $50 you didn't need to pay customs on things anyway. Is that not true? Fill me in!

-That is NOT true I ordered the Xenosaga 2 special edition guide from EB USA. 20$ customs when the guide was only like 10$

Buy.com has them for $44.
Costco.com has them for $40

I have a Costco membership which works across north america, but sadly the .com site doesn't ship to Canada. I'd be nice if someone can confirm weather they stock the cards in-store as well.

I've got a 48 code from a game I bought last week, but 48 hours wll be gone in a flash, lol

Some items, such as video Games, movies, and some accessories, are covered in the free trade agreement.
There is no duty on these items. If any item exceeds $50 in value, you will be charged GST and or PST/HST.

Some retarded shipping companies like UPS and FedEX will charge you regardless. Watch out!

That was probably UPS. I believe it's up to $50 only if it's a gift. Otherwise $20? That's USPS though, UPS is horrible.

Hey goomba, will you be around FYE or Suncoast in the next week or two? They're having a BOGO on Funimation titles and I want Fullmetal Alchemist Season 2 Part 1 and FullMetal Alchemist Season 2 Part 2. If they're $39.99 or less each (so $40 for two), I'd love to get them. What's the sales tax where you live?

I do have a Suncoast and FYE right near my house. I'll definitely pick up those titles for you. Tax in my state is 6% (Connecticut). ^_^

Azumangaman, I'll do anything. Games are just my speciality but I've spent probably $5000 on anime alone myself (not even mentioning manga/toys/etc.). Anything you want: Games, anime, DVDs, books, beach towels... you name it. If I can get it in America and don't have to jump through a thousand hoops to get it, it's yours ^_^

I apologize guys that my first newsletter went out without any images / graphics / colored text / etc. I didn't realize that you had to check off an option in the administrative back-end that sends the HTML emails. It was listed as on, but when I went to check the actual settings I found that a manual override was enabled. My bad.

Those who DID receive the newsletter though, feel free to use the coupon at the bottom ^_^ *hint hint*.

I've received packages marked as games with values ranging from $80-100 and haven't been charged duties. They have all been shipped via USPS so far though, so I'm sure I would've been raped by UPS.

ShocWave bought my first Xbox Live card. One more available $43 USD. ^_^ Thanks guys! Keep in mind that yes they do have them for $40 online but most stores still charge me tax (6%) or shipping. In total they cost me about $42 so I make like a buck. I'm fine with that though. Thanks!

I spoke to a customs officer and a postal worker and both of them have told me that it depends on the mood of whomever gets your package, the example the postal worker used was

Lets say officer A just came back from a long vacation, his family is perfect, hes healthy, kids are great, he gets your package valued at $80 and just moves it along w/o taxing you

Officer B has had a horrible week, his hockey team lost, his wife left him, hes seriously in debt and he sees your package valued at $60 and since hes been having a crappy week decides to vent out some of his frustration on your package, fills out the necessary forms and BAM, you just got customed.

Anyways, its pretty much a crapshoot or a coin toss in terms of getting taxed
Just my .02 cents
Although I've gotten 100$ of dopllars of stuff from amazon.com and never got charged duty. So I'm not exactly sure what the specifics are.
Amazon.com ships their stuff to Canada from their Missassauga warehouse. It never passes the border.

Thanks so much lawlflip ^_^ I appreciate the "Goomba rules so hard" comment. Just so you know guys, I'm going to be out of town from now until Tuesday afternoon, but I'll still be checking CAG and I'm bringing my laptop as well so I'll be doing orders and updates still. Let me know if anything catches your eye.

The coupon code in the first newsletter expires tonight ... Still haven't had an order through the website yet. I thought for sure someone would want a Companion Cube by now =P

Hey guys :) I'm back from my two-day vacation so if you have any orders please let me know. So far nobody has ordered from the website, which is a bit of a bummer, but I'm sure it's bound to happen eventually as I continue to add new items. Keep in mind I only have 9 Weighted Companion cubes left. I'm not planning on ordering any more anytime soon. Get them while available ^_^

As Goomba's very first customer, I am happy to share with everyone that the transaction was a success! I bought a brand new, sealed copy of ICO off eBay through Goomba. I am a very very picky person, especially when it comes to my sealed game collection, but with the game having to travel from the eBay seller to Goomba then to me, I was expecting for there to be at least some kind of damage along the way. Well.. NO DAMAGE! I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing condition the game arrived in. Goomba has made a long-time customer out of me. Finally a way to get my hands on some sealed classics and not have to ripped off on shipping. Thanks Goomba, you're my hero. Now please excuse me as I go and make love to my game.

Usuyami, I'm so happy that you received the game so quickly! I look forward to doing business with you again for sure ^_^ Appreciate the feedback!

Were any of you guys interested in Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne? I have four copies in stock now. I know a lot of you mentioned you were interested so I went ahead and ordered them. I also have the Weighted Companion Cubes but nobody's putting in any orders for them on the site (besides Magiic...thanks!). Let me know otherwise I'll just eBay them. I don't want to lose money just having them lie around. Thanks ^_^

reprints?

Yes they are the newly released reprints but they're absolutely identical to the originals except that they don't include the soundtrack. Still for about $100 less than the original prints, it's a GREAT deal ^_^ Let me know.

Magiic, your cube and game shipped out a few days ago. You should get them sometime next week hopefully :) Thanks again!

I just order one from playasia when it was first known to the forum. I had to use some filler items for $10 off $50. But taking shipping and potential taxes from customs into consideration, goomba deal might be better. Oh well, it is already shipped out.

Regardless, I got the mint first print of Nocturne with soundtrack at $40 off CAGer today so I can't complain. :)

I can definitely beat PlayAsia's prices any day :) Just let me know if any of you are interested. Also, I can order from just about any website (Amazon, Buy.com, Rightstuf.com, Valve, etc.) so your options are nearly endless =) I'm in the mood to order and send out some packages so let me know what you guys need ^_^

I'll be sending out a newsletter with another coupon this week, so if you haven't done so already please sign up on my website. I've added a convenient banner to my signature now :)

Hey, how about adding a banner of amazon.com's game deal of the day somewhere in the website? It might generate some interest as this deal is usually good and not available in Canada.

Actually Dan, that's a great idea :) I had originally added that actually but figured since it wasn't available to Canada usually that it wouldn't show up. Now that I think about it though, you guys probably have no problem browsing the American version of Amazon, it's just ordering from it that is the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion :) I'll go and do that right now. I'm actually working up plans for the "Request a Deal" section of the site. Any other suggestions or things you'd like to see? Let me know!

Updated: For now I've added an Amazon Deal of the Day / Lightning Deals widget on the main page. I'll be setting up the "Request a Deal" page in the next week or so, and I'll continue to add new products to the store.

So far nobody has actually purchased anything through the store which is a bit of a bummer, but at least quite a few of you have contacted me through CAG ^_^ I'm going to keep working hard at this, as I really believe it's a good business model. Thanks for all of your input!

Also, just so you know, each and every item will have alternative places to buy the games underneath the item descriptions. Each one includes live ebay.ca prices and I'm going through them and trying to add in Amazon / Play-Asia, etc. links. Thanks again.

Yeah I think adding some sort of system where people give you a link to the product might work best. Not completely sure how that'd work.

Click Request a Deal
Then send a link + payment up front (maybe according to a chart of what your shipping + service fee is)
and then you buy + ship?

Yes exactly Firestorm. I was thinking rather than pay up front, maybe just have you guys pay the $2.00 commission fee up front. Then, if I can't get the deal for you or if for some reason you change your mind I can cancel the purchase. What do you think about that?

Since some items it's hard to judge shipping costs ahead of time without physically having them in hand to weigh/pack. Items like arcade controllers, large figures/toys, game systems, etc.

I'll definitely be having some sort of test page up in a week or so for you guys to try out and let me know what you think ^_^

That was a very quick update! Although I don't see the game deal of the day in the widget. Are you able to customize the content? The game deal is what this is really for. for CAGers. I believe other merchandises can be shipped to Canada from amazon.com but not games. That's why we need your help here. :)

Dan, as far as I know I cannot change the content for the widget as they only show game deals when there are specific deals on video games (not every day has one). What I will do though, however, is list individual amazon widgets on each game's page that will update automatically through Amazon's feed. That way, if there is a sale on that game it will reflect on the page. Make sense?

Let me know what else I can do to make the site better! ^_^
