GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

Thanks goomba, though sadly i didnt double check the link i gave you & it was for a different card lol.
I'll still pay it since I'm dumb & made a mistake. I'll probably send you a DR for the other copy of the card that still has 3 days on it (if i still have money laying around)

telepathy, yeah I noticed it was a slightly different card as well but thought you knew that. As for your credit, I had applied your credit towards another item (.hack special edition one, but my memory is fuzzy about what happened with that. I'll have to check my records when I get home from work). If it turns out that we had cancelled the .hack item or if we had not gotten it for some reason, then I will simply apply your payment for that item towards the card. I will figure it out for you later :)

** GFC Update: 11/05/2009 - Lots of New Changes Coming!**

After spending the good portion of the week shipping orders and sending invoices, I have realized that with the large influx of new customers that I will have to make some core changes to how I run my services. I haven't totally concretely decided how I'm going to do this, but I will lay out a few of my ideas:

A) For Direct Requests, to speed up the process I am currently coding a new system that will do a few things different:

1) Only registered users will be able to request items. This is because I have been receiving a ton of SPAM messages from my direct request page. It's easy to delete them, but then again it's also a big waste of time. So requiring only registered users to submit will speed things up for me. Of course spammers can register if they really wanted to, but it'd take them more time and therefore I'm not too worried about it. Anyone can register at any time, so it's not like I'm blocking anyone from using the service =)

B) As it stands right now, you can request to pay with direct funds (non-Credit Card) or Credit Card payments. I can't really charge you for using a credit card as it breaks specific Paypal/Credit Card rules and laws, but I can give you a discount for paying with direct funds. So what I'm considering is to have the option to pay up front with your direct request submission. Meaning, you can request an item and pre-pay it all at the time you send it. This will allow me to order your items right away and invoice you if there was anything calculated incorrectly on your side, or if I need you to pay addtional service fees/shipping etc.

C) Along with the pre-payment option, I'm considering to have GFC credit of sorts. So for instance, you could pre-buy $100 worth of GFC Direct Request Credit and simply have it deducted when you order things. This means that I could more readily supply your items and you could pre-buy the credit when CAD is higher, when you have extra money in your Paypal, etc. Likewise, I could simply refund you any time I needed to with the GFC credit without worrying about exchange rates, Paypal fees, etc. If you want to stick with Paypal/Credit cards you could buy GFC credit, or you could use your credit card (but you wouldn't receive the discounts).

2) The other major change is that I'm going to be starting a separate page for non-game related direct requests. This is a big change not so much in that the system will be different, but the name, site design and that sort of thing will be different. This is mainly because MANY users who are not gamers are turned off by the "Games For Canada" name, as well as non-Canadians thinking they are excluded. I'm going to keep GamesForCanada.com of course but will be opening a Fashion-Specific service as well as a general goods service. For you regular GFC users, you can still use the GFC site as the other sites will simply be mirrors of the GFC services with re-branded names and looks. Whew...

So that's it. I haven't decided entirely on the changes, but what I'm going to do is try to catch up all the way with all current orders and code these changes into the background. I won't really use beta testers so much this time as the site will just naturally progress with the new changes.

Oh and having a more automated system means my Rewards system will be a lot easier to implement. I'm one step closer to completing that (I know it's been a long time coming, you're still earning points even if you don't think you are). Thanks guys!

Hey Goomba, my copy of Demon's Souls finally arrived today. I've been waiting so long to play it as it's not available in my province due to the game not having a french manual. Here's hoping I can survive the game's "brutal" difficulty.

I like the personalized note too!
Thanks again.

Those sound great, goomba. A few questions, though. For payment without a credit-card, what are our options? It'd be nice to save the fees for using a credit card for PayPal as they do add up sometimes. Also, how will your new system take into account the shipping fees up-front? Because usually, I think you look at the weight manually, and send us the invoice accordingly. Just wondering if the system would be smart enough to calculate all those fees so we can pre-pay.

Other than, those sound great!

bouzi, I wouldn't count on it being easy :) It does look like a FANTASTIC game though and one that I'm really tempted to buy for myself (which is rare considering how many backlogged games I have). Let me know what you think of it. Thanks again for shopping with GFC!

constellation, the payments without a credit card would be largely the same: Paypal direct (Gift option or direct funds), Money Order through mail (always an option now but one that most people don't use as there is more time involved in mailing a money order to me) and any other things I can think of (Amazon gift card codes for one could be exchanged on a 1:1 basis. So if you have a $25 Amazon card you want to send my way I would transfer you $25 in GFC store credit, etc.).

As for shipping. I will have the buyer (you guys) estimate shipping. So if you're ordering a game for instance I will have a section that says "How many games are you ordering" and it will estimate each game at a rate of say 6-7 ounces shipped. For other non-gaming related items I'd ask you to estimate shipped weight based on Amazon listings, or general knowledge from other websites. Or you could simply pre-pay a set amount (say $10.00) towards shipping or whatever. Then, if I get the items and they are overweight or underweight I could adjust them with the standard invoice. Doing this would mean that a lot less of the DR's would really need me to manually type them all out, and it'd speed things up for you guys. It basically would take the invoicing off my hands (which takes a TON of time with the current system) and would allow me more time to actually develop new services, new coding for the site and of course packing and shipping.

Once I start some of these new things I will see how they work. If they don't work then I don't have to use them, but it's a good trial to see how it goes. You shall see the fruits of my labor soon enough ^_^ Feedback is always appreciated!

Black Friday is the last Friday in the month so still around 3-4 weeks away. I should have at least the basis of the new system done by them.

In the meantime, I went ahead and fixed the CSS font styles for the direct request page. Why didn't any of you tell me it looked funny with HUGE text and weird fonts. I guess the CSS for it got messed up somehow. Now it's been fixed :) Next step will be to allow you to log into the site so you don't have to re-enter your personal data each time ^_^ Coming soon!

Hey Goomba, I think you skipped over my last post so I'll just post another one. About my DR, I'm pretty sure we lost the ebay bid so I was wondering if you automatically return the payments or do I have to request it? I'm okay with leaving it as credit but I'm not sure when I'll find something else to request.

ironchefff, I didn't forget about you. You are correct though...we were outbid. I will hold onto your money for one week. If you don't request anything new then I will jsut refund you in full :) Or you can leave it with me as future credit. Whatever works for you ^_^ I am very flexible!

telepathy, I really doubt it. I'm working in a huge tournament almost all day on Black Friday and I'm going to see a free "They Might Be Giants" (my favorite band) concert in the afternoon. I try to stay far, far away from stores on Black Friday (as I don't like being trampled to death by stay-at-home soccer moms). Online deals though... those are going to be insane this year. Amazon starts generally at 3AM EST or 12:00 PM Pacific, so definitely keep an eye out for those!

Oh, I thought 3AM was PSt for whatever reason -- forgot Wombat was EST and Cheapy converts his times to EST.

Im up until midnight on that day (even though I work at 6 AM)

Nah, Amazon is out of Washington if I remember correctly so they operate on PST. Since they start the sale at 12:00 midnight PST, that's 3AM EST. So yeah. I gotta get up really early that day too (thinking I may pull an all-nighter if the deals are worthwhile). We'll see :) Black Friday was INSANE last year. I assume with the current economy it'll be as good if not better this year.

** GFC Daily Update **

As I said before. There really is going to be a rewards system on GFC. To prove it, I will be calculating ONE person's points a day (as it's a bit time consuming). So the first customer on here to say they want me to calculate their points today will have it done right away. I will continue doing this daily. Once everyone is up to date, I will reveal the rewards page. Sound good?

So who is going to be first?

Alright Ragnar, you are officially the first tabulated points member. I will calculate your rewards and will post here :) The Aksys Promo CD is the first thing I will be giving away on the site once it goes live ^_^ hehe. I will post a master list with these ongoing updates. Let me go calculate!

At the moment it's 25% of your Service Charge you pay to GFC. So if you order 3 items and pay $4.00 for a service charge, then you'll earn $1.00 in Canuck Bucks. If you order one item for $2.00 then you will earn $0.50 in Canuck Bucks :)

Now how Canuck Bucks work...well, that's for a future update ^_^

Azumangaman, if I get some time I will do more than one a day. I still have a lot of people's packages to pack so I will do yours soon enough :) You have quite a few I'm sure!

Sure!

Oh, and could you send me an invoice for:
Up (4 disc Blu Ray)
Monsters Inc. Blu Ray

There's a promo that automatically subtracts $10 from the total, making it a great deal. If I was to order it without you, it'd run me $48 USD. Let me know if you work out to be better :)

I'm a little concerned that I haven't received mine yet. Actually the only thing I got was the Half-Minute Hero + Lowball (Ys+Deep Labyrinth). Did you send both packages at the same time? What about my book from ebay?

Azumangaman, I'd be happy to. I actually ordered both of those movies myself on my own BEFORE the promotion ... so I'm hoping they'll give them to me at the discounted price. I'll order yours separately though. I loved Up so much and always wanted Monsters Inc. on Blu-Ray. Fantastic deal.

I will definitely be lower than $48 :) I'll send an invoice tonight if I can.

jeffx, I wouldn't worry too much. Just hang in there. I did ship them around the same time. The only thing I didn't ship was the book actually. I'll get that ready to go out. Almost forgot about it. I'm glad you reminded me.

Yo Goomb, any projections when you'll send out your next batch of packages? Birthdays in 3 weeks and kinda crossing my fingers by totally overshadowing all the presents my friends get me with the camera, ha ha.

Don't worry Rogan, I'm already on it. Your Gorilla tripod just came in and I'm mailing out your camera out tomorrow morning =) Just keep in mind you may have to pay customs on it as I'm insuring it for the full value. Hopefully you won't, but if you do it shouldn't be too bad considering what you saved on it. Thanks again!

Customs won't be over $15 CAD on it if it's shipped USPS, so I'm totally alright with that.

Thanks again Goomba -- I didn't realize you could ship stuff on saturdays (well... atleast... give it to them to ship monday).

I've been so tempted to pay you like 15 bucks just to wrap it in wrapping paper :p

Oh yeah, I totally ship on Saturdays. In fact, it's one of my busiest shipping days since even if I work early, my wife has it off from work so she can drop them off for me. The post office is limited hours on Saturdays in the States (open till 12:00 PM - Noon) and Sundays they are closed entirely, but they do ship out Saturday morning which is a Godsend.

LOL. If I have some wrapping paper I will gladly do that for you :) though I'd still have to mark it on the box what it is.

I'll leave it up to your discretion :p Don't wanna put last minute strain on yeah, ha.

Why can I imagine you one of these days when the business is a little more streamlined that during christmas you ship everything out in wrapping paper/present stuff and write on that as a 1-up to your yearly normal cards :p

Thanks Goomba! I think I'll keep the credit for now. If I end up going months and months without finding something then I'll rethink the credit.

The UP set from Amazon is really tempting too.... decisions, decisions.

I wrapped up your camera rather well :) Granted I had to do so with leftover bits from last year's extra Christmas paper and I had to tape on some of the odd sections but it looks very nice indeed. I think you'll like it ^_^ I like the Christmas idea as well though with the way things are going I may only do it for a select few as I get a lot of little orders these days =) Thanks again. Hope your camera gets to you fast! Happy almost birthday =)

ironchefff, sounds good. Consider yourself credited :) the Up/Monsters deal is really good. I'm going to go and invoice that now for you Azu.

I have a question, is there tracking on First-Class Mail ($03.00 USD = 5 ounces – 6 ounces (typical video game DVD rate))? or is it pretty safe to send without it.

Well, there isn't really tracking for any first class mail to Canada. You can get tracking with Priority (more like delivery confirmation really) but the safest thing is to insure it for $2.00 USD. This insures up to $100 and we can get additional insurance as well if you want for larger items. I have shipped over 5,000 packages in 13 years and have lost exactly 2. So really, 99.996% of the packages get delivered without any problems :)

Now the question is Goomba... How many games arrived with broken cases/damaged? :p

It seems like anything that isn't sent by you has been arriving cracked recently. So, whether that means unlucky, or simply they hired some asshole at the Canada Post warehouse... It's unknown.

Oh gosh, I have no idea. Are these individual items (one game per envelope) or packages (cardboard ones) with multiple games? I can't recall anyone mentioning crushed packages or games before. Please let me know Rogan!

RoganSarine, I just realized that you said NOT sent by me (which makes me feel a little better), but still I'd love to know. I take a lot of care in packing my items to ensure they are delivered safety so any extra info is great to know!

Bubble mailer... All my lowball items that wern't yours (IE: Lost Planet from puggit, Turok from Dv8, etc) arrived with corners broken, shattered cases, ripped artwork, etc. (luckily manual and disc were fine... those I can't replace).

I only posted the lost planet one here, but all the ones arriving afterwards had the same fate. I just didn't make a big hassle of it because Brian gave me a bunch of cases incase it does happen :p

I've had a string of bad luck with cracked cases from Goozex, there was probably a period when I got 5-6 cracked cases out of 10 or so awhile back... but now it seems ok. I guess they broke their DVD mailer smashing machine, or moved it to another sorting station.

Must be the same asshole who slices my packages open (doesn't close them back!) and keeps random items. Sometime my packages arrive in terrible condition. That never happened with Goomba though! :applause:

Hey Goomba, I dunno if it's too early but apparently on Black Friday they are selling Left 4 Dead 2 for $39.99 at K-Mart and Sears. If you can could you grab me a copy, if its too much of a hassle don't worry about it.

Thanks

Guys, let me say this again. I am working on Black Friday in a special Poker Tournament nearly all day. I can't go to ANY local stores for deals. I can only go for online deals (starting with Amazon at 3AM). Since I am working Friday though I may have to pull an all-nighter in order to make it work.

Again, I can't go to any local stores as they are too crazy and because I have to work. Also, my Sears doesn't sell video games and I have no K-Mart, so .... =P
