GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

Hey Goomba,

This is the first time I'm using your forwarding service, could you check if you have received my order? Tracking said it was delivered this morning, and I am just waiting for a shipping quote. Just a bit nervous as it's the first time using a forwarder and want to make sure I did everything properly.

Order Number: 1996092918

Thanks,
Hopefully GFC will be back up in a bit need 2 order Bioshock 2 fast :)
its 34.99 at BB brand new unless the US has it considerably cheaper.

Stryk3r, we do our UPS pickups during the week on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 1-2 times a week, so it'll be a couple of days before we have it, but once we are we'll process it for you :) Thanks. No need to worry. We're on top of things even though this week is hectic for us ^_^ Thanks!

TKO236, yeah we'll be resuming Direct Request orders in a week. If you have a time sensitive order you can use Package Forwarding or if you really can't wait you can PM me and we can try to work something out for you. Thanks!

I'm off to work now guys. Tonight and tomorrow will be GFC packed days :) Thanks!

Hey goomba I need to order something for my dad from the US. Its a part for his garage. shipping is $22 to canada and only $5 to the US. It would save me a bit of money. I was wondering if you could order it for me as soon as possible. thanks maybe you can pm me when you get back.
Lets say a PS3 game is 64.99 over here in canada and the game is 29.99 in america with free shiping to your location. How much money would I likly save on that? I know you cant tell me 100% I just am asking because the direct request section is down and im a newb who wants to jump into all this action. I live in Sarnia Ontario Canada.

Sorry for being a newb
You'll save a bunch. Expect additionnal fees of 5-6$ for shipping and handling, for a total order of roughly 35-36$ USD, plus the exchange rate. You should use his package forwarding service: Goomba won't have to order it for you and you'll make sure you get that 29.99 price, especially if it's a time-limited offer.

I don't know for you, but I know what I'd do with this 25$ saving.

We Canadians. Proudly overtaxed.

sinath, before I order it or before you order it, please let me know what type of tool it is and how much approximately it weighs and how big it is :) After shipping a 9 foot package this week I'm afraid of all tool orders lol. If it's not crazy then by all means I'd be happy to help you.

publicsd is absolutely right. You can save a lot if you play your cards right. In many cases you can save up to 30-50% on titles that are on sale :) We'll be happy to assist you once we resume all the DR things. I'll be working tonight, tomorrow and Monday to see that it happens.

Saturday: Lowball Priority (Mail out All Lowballs)
Sunday: Existing Orders Priority (Mail out as many as possible)
Monday: Existing Orders Priority (Mail out as many as possible)

Hey goomba, have you received your orders from KMart finally ?
It's been 2 weeks since the sale and, if possible, could use an update on it.

Thanks.

Hey Goomba, just a quick question. I want to do a PF for SMG2 to get the $20 credits and I was wondering if you knew whether their "one per household" limit counts the shipping address. I know you've got a lot of customers ordering this game and I just wanted to see if you've ever heard of anyone that had a problem getting the game credit while doing a PF with you.

Oh, and can you PM me what you want me to fill in for the phone number in Amazon?

It's a gear. it's probably the size of a cd or maybe smaller that weighs about like how much a ps2 game would weigh haha.

http://www.geniedoor.com/genie-gear-27096

my dad's gear broke so he needs to replace it or the garage door doesn't open :bomb:. They don't sell it here in ontario so need to get it online. If you could send an invoice of how much it would be asap I much appreciate it goomba. Thanks! :)

** GFC DAY UPDATE **

Hey guys, well the start to my all-day-GFC work day started off a bit...well...off. I woke up and my entire house, office and neighborhood block has no power. So I've taken my laptop and gone to where else: Tim Hortons (where they have free Wi-Fi), power and a place to charge my laptop. Phew!

This means I'll be doing a lot of Emailing, invoicing and all that fun stuff now, and then when the power comes back I'll begin packing and shipping items out. So in the meantime I'll go and check the plethora of Emails and will respond to your PMs above.

MicroB, yes I am pretty sure all the K-Mart orders are in. I am spending all day today sorting out the items that came in and I'm doing a full GYROs update with up to date statuses for all orders. Once the power comes back then I'll be shipping out a ton of items as well today and tomorrow. Thanks!

Lucas252, yes I could do that though another person already has ordered that version meaning you'd lose the pre-order bonus from there. I'm not sure if that's worth it to you. I'll see what I can do though. We have plenty of time before it comes out. :)

DJ Ghostmare, I just received a big box from RightStuf, so I assume that's what it is. I'm doing the GYROS update and full inventory tonight so hang in there ^_^ I'll have it updated tonight. Waiting for the power to come back in our offices.

whitehawk, I will have the Direct Request service re-opening at least partially next weekend so we'll be ready for you!

sinath, in that case we can definitely help you :) Today is a crazy day with lots of catching up and organizing going on, but tomorrow I should have time to help you put together an invoice. Thanks!

Back to Email checking and invoicing now! Cya soon guys.

I'll be glad to pay you for FF13 PS3 (K-Mart) whenever you get around to it, but please apply my 22$ credit on it so we can get it out of the way.

jeffx, I will try to send the invoice to you tonight or tomorrow morning :) Thanks. I will be sure to apply your credit to it as well.

Lucas252, if you want to order the PS3 one then you are more than welcome to. Let me know.
So can you switch my 360 Call of duty black ops to the ps3 version, is that okay?
You'll be missing out on $20 pre-order bonus as Goomba said though, I'm not sure if it will be worth it to order from US unless you order with your own account to send to Goomba's address. Usually Canada has $5 off 1-2 weeks before release date, last time I believe FS and BB had $10 for MW2 so it was $49.99 on release day, but that was because the game was seriously hyped up and since all the internal what-not happened with IW and Activision not sure how hyped this one will be and if they will give a big discount like before.
Lucas252, yes that's fine (PS3) version. Just send $45 USD to my personal account as a gift payment and I'll set it up for you. Thanks!
What im trying to say is can you please cancel my 360 version (1139545317) and pre order Call of duty Black ops for the ps3 instead.

thanks in advance
Tim Hortons (where they have free Wi-Fi)
Wait...free wifi...Timmies...why don't we have this here? It would basically give all of Canada free wifi with the amount of stores per block radius. How did we go this many posts after you mentioned that with no one commenting on the awesomeness of it?!? lol

On another note, I mailed out 2/3 of my lowball items last week. Just waiting on emjaymj's info from Goomba and my part will be done for now. (Hint hint Goomba...address emailed or PM'ed to me when you can please) =D
i swear there's a timmies like 2 blocks away from eachother every intersection from where i live
There are 2 across the street from each other near me.
I'm just surprised they actually have a Tim's in the US
I was in detroit recently, and to my surprise there was a timmies.

Yes, we do have select Tim Hortons in the USA (one right next to where I live which is awesome). What's nice about the one here is that it serves the full Tim Horton's Menu, along with Del's Lemonade (from Rhode Island) and Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream as well. Best of all places and they have free Wi-Fi Internet as mentioned (which interestingly enough is proxied from Vancouver, so when we use Internet there it shows our IP as being in Canada...odd).

I will be responding to your messages soon and writing some important things about GFC.

** IMPORTANT GFC INFORMATION **

1) Paypal has temporarily put our account on "Limited Access" meaning if you want to send payment to our Canadapayments address you cannot (temporarily). This is in response to an unauthorized charge on our Debit Card a few weeks back and until I confirm all their steps to have the account re-instated I cannot send or receive funds from this account. For the time being I CAN use my jjparks personal account, just so you know.

2) Due to this Paypal limitation all and any purchases on the GFC website (including iTunes purchases) will let you know that the system is unable to accept payments. Again, this is temporary while we are waiting for Paypal to re-instate our privileges on the website.

3) Due to the power outage(s) yesterday we will be doing all the full day GFC stuff today rather than yesterday as originally planned. I have nearly completed the Lowball things and am updating GYROS throughout the day. Hopefully the power will be more reliable today =P

4) We will do our best to restore Direct Request service by this weekend. Obviously, having Paypal working will be a crucial thing since our website uses Paypal as well for instant payment options. We're working on it :)

5) It's very likely that my wife and I will be filing for personal bankruptcy within the next month or so. This shouldn't greatly affect our services, though technically speaking it may be the official closure of our "Improcomics" business branding. Again, we'll do everything we can to keep GFC running during the bankruptcy process as it will be important for us to keep afloat. More on this soon. Thanks guys!

So should I send u the money on ur personal PP or is it better to wait a bit?

it's up to you TKO. Sending to the personal account is ideal anyhow, but if you want to wait for the Business account you can do that as well. Should be no more than 3 days until the business account is back. I sent all the information to verify my account, just waiting on Paypal. Thanks!

Wow, way to gloss over a major announcement, TKO...

Goomba, sorry to hear about the financial issues. Best of luck to you and your wife in getting through it. With what I've seen of your work ethic, I'm sure you'll be back on your feet in no time.

Talula123, it's not something I want to do per se...I've attempted to avoid bankruptcy for about 4 years or so now, but the way the economy is going and all the cut hours at my jobs and financial uncertainty, it seems it will be the best option for my family and I. If anything though, as much as it sucks for my credit, it will likely be the first time in nearly a decade that I'll be virtually debt free and I can use my new-found-financial knowledge to avoid the mistakes of our past.

It'll will provide a new life for us, so I'm wishing for the best. Nothing is final yet though, I'm meeting with an attorney on Thursday so wish me luck. I appreciate your support :)

I'm sorry to hear about your financial situation. I knew you were having some difficulty, but didn't know it was that bad. (It seems like just the other day you were discussing buying that new house)

Keep in mind, even if you don't declare bankruptcy, that in the U.S. you are not responsible for any unsecured debt whatsoever. No one can take you to court to get money from you for any loans, credit cards, etc. The most they can do is have collection agencies bug you, but that's remedied by changing your phone number =)

Whatever happens, good luck, and know you have the support of myself, and I'm sure lots of other Canadians =D

Yeah, but still... He said he has a huge credit card debt that is constantly going up from the very early days of GFC if I recall where he bought stuff in the trust of people who never paid. I'm sure there are other reasons too, but when your credit card is basically so out of reach to pay off almost all your money goes towards trying to bring that down -- it's nearly impossible to do anything. I would assume it'd be pretty hard to get a loan or anything too.

Sure, it'd affect his credit rating, but at least he could stop worrying about paying off his CC debt. Still, it really sucks :whistle2:# I am pretty sure the losing of that 2 grand was the nail in the coffin too

Atleast his wife didn't kill him!

TKO, it's all good :) I didn't take any offense or anything. That's the purpose of this thread after all to keep you guys posted and for an easy way for you to get back to me as well.

Lucas252, yes I will switch it for you. No problem. I've already taken care of it with Amazon.

Gsrce, the house would have actually saved us money in the long run because unlike renting it would have been going toward our equity and would have allowed us to pool our credit card debt and such into a single loan. It didn't work out though because the sellers decided they didn't want to sell just yet and the banks decided not to loan us the mortgage, but in the end it's probably for the best. Honestly, bringing my wife back to the US was a lot more work and more expensive than I would have thought, but I wouldn't have changed anything really. Now that we are both working and have a more promising future ahead of us financially, bankruptcy is really the best option it would seem as it will allow us to (within 6 months) start saving up cash in our savings again (money we can eventually have towards a down payment on a house one day), allow us to keep our cars and continue working the jobs we have and of course expand our home business in GFC and other ventures. So it's going to crush my credit for at least a few years, but it'll get me OFF credit cards once and for good, which is something that could literally take 10-20 years if I don't go bankrupt. So in the long run, it'll be a good thing I believe. I'll do what's best for my little family =)

whitehawk, I tried Google Ads for a while and after nearly a year nobody was clicking them so I decided they were not really much of a help. I may implement them again in the future when we have more of an actual website, but for now I'm going to keep it the way it is. I like the donation button idea but honestly I can't just rely on donations all the time. I'll get my finances settled once and for all and that'll free up time and money for me to actually grow my business in ways I can't do right now due to past financial burdens. Thanks for your support!

I spent about 3 hours yesterday going over "What Ifs" and the bankruptcy option makes the most sense. Here's a reason why:

Right now I make roughly $4000 a month between my 2.5 jobs and my wife's 1 job. This means that month to month, we make a decent amount of money as far as I'm concerned. The problem is this: $2500 a month goes towards cars/credit cards (more than half our income), about $1000 towards rent which only leaves $500 for food, phone, utilities, gas, insurance, etc. etc.

So out of $4000 a month we take home less than $500 a month for actual expenses outside of our debt. That's ridiculously when you think about it. If we keep our cars and our apartment, which I hope to, then that means we spend less than $1800 a month towards those things which frees approximately $2200 a month for expenses.

So bankruptcy means my credit will be crap for up to 7 years, but if I have an extra $1700 a month for 7 years that totals $142,800 USD.... a LOT of money. If I continue to pay the credit cards, chances are I'll still owe a ton of money in 7 years and still have nothing to show for it. It doesn't make sense.

I avoid bankruptcy this long for not wanting to be bankrupt, but realistically it makes no sense not to at this point. If I'm able to do it, then I'll try to avoid all but the necessary forms of credit and will stick to savings accounts, debit cards and things that don't require us paying interest. Period.

Oh and also, without the $2000 a month going towards credit cards, I can pay off our two cars within 1.5-2 years and then have 0 debt by 2013. Sounds good to me =P I want nothing more than to be completely debt free.

** GFC Service Update **

Great news guys, I just got the Email from Paypal that says our business credit card has been re-instated and should be fully operational again :) This means that we will soon be able to re-open the DR service and the online store is operational again. More updates to come soon :).
