So yesterday some friends and I stopped by our local Gamestop that is having the sale. My friends found a few things worth picking up, but I didn't. Later on that day we went to Best Buy, where one of my friends told me he had managed to get his local Best Buy to price match Gamestop's Buy 2 get 1 Free sale. So I decide to ask if they will price match the 50% anime sale. The person at customer service asks some people and about 15 minutes later comes back and says yes.
My friends and I are ecstatic, so we go off to pillage Best Buy's anime section. Eventually we get back up to the customer service desk and start checking out. Some new people have shown up there (sigh) so there is some confusion, but eventually they start checking us out.
Of course, they also start calling Gamestop to see if they have these things in stock (which is something I haven't seen them do in a while). I managed to get Ninja Scroll 10th Aniversary, Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke for 50% off.
I was first in line, and my friends behind me then start getting checked out. One or two makes it through the line, then some manager comes out and gives us some song and dance about how they won't price match Gamestop because they are going out of business.
Does anybody know anything about that?
