Gamestop 50% off anime

not all of the gamestops have anime,so you should call first. (mine doesn't have any)

Invader Zim is in the "anime section", does it count as anime?

Are you sure this is a nationwide deal? Not just a YMMV case? If so, I'd like to get those Invader Zim discs at 50 percent off... since they classify it as anime at my store.

Is this only B&M as well?

Also note that at Right stuff they have the invaser Zim disks at 40% off using their coupon that ends on Sunday.

Anyone hit the store yet because if this is true I'm heading to two of them right after I get back form the laundrmat.

I know my two GS have anime I just want to know if anyone's confirmed this so I can runout there before peoplecatch on.

Do they count animatrix as anime? I've sort of wanted it for a while, if only because most of the animation is very pretty, and I saw that they are selling it for 8 used at my gamestop. For 3.60 (with my gmr card) bucks I would be an idiot to pass it up.

A confirmation would be lovely. I've had my eye on this Witch Hunter Robin box set for awhile, and I'd love to know if it's worth the ~20min drive to purchase on the cheap.

Most stores do list the Animatrix as Anime.

...and yeah the hour train ride I have to take would suck it there's no sale.

OK, I just called a few gamestops in Chicago and they told me that the 50% only applies on new anime dvd and red vs blue is excluded. I hope that helps :).

Red vs. Blue is a halo comedy show that basically is like a really weird sitcom. Definately worth watching the first season, lately though the show feels as if it is running out of steam with the start of the third season. check out the website: www.redvsblue.com .

I have seen all types of anime at Gamestop, can't really recall any specifics because I usually buy all my anime extremely cheap online from right stuff weekly specials and trading/private seller. BTW MeGaWC27 who is your avatar.

Just went to my GS and they had the sale but almost no selection. I was hoping to get in on some Gungrave, Texhnolyze, and Berserk. Alas, it was not to be.

How long is this deal going on?
I have no money right now. But if its still going on on friday, I'm going to spend my whole paycheck on anime!

I don't think the box set has been released yet. Are you refering to the volume 1 LE with all the bonus stuff? If so, you can get it pretty cheap at rightstuf.com:

I hear that!

I'm pissed.

Not only had one of the GS completely evacuated their entire anime section but they'd also gtten rid of any new DVD they evr had. The other store had a completly different deal "Buy 2 get a 3rd free" and a section that had maybe two shows I wasn't interested in with more than one dvd so I couldnt even GET 3 of a single series.

I ended up going to another store and buying a CG movie DVD called Keana for 20 and some music CDs.

Hmm... guess I'll have to stop by a GameStop and see what they have for sale, and hope they have something good hehe.

The character in my avatar is Hibiki from Vandread.

Well I can confirm that this deal started today. My gamestop posted the sign yesterday and told me to come back in today but all I can say was that my gamestop didn't really have that much anime it sucks :(. Would have wanted to get so much more

Great deal since most used anime dvds are around 10$ at GS. Theres three of them within 10 minutes of me house so I oughta find something good.

Meh. I just called my Gamestop, and they said they were sold out. :(

But they didn't really carry anything anyways.

Do youknow if this is at joint stores too?

Like Babagges and Software Etc.

???

It seems to me that gamestop wants to get rid of their stock of anime and stop stocking it. They havent gotten in any new anime for like 3 months :(

My Babbage's is participating and I would assume Software Etc. is too.

Most gamestop's don't carry much new anime. The one I work at has a very limited selection, and I bought a bunch when I found about the sale. It's a really good deal if you can find a store that sells it. Sometimes you can reserve new anime titles too, so if they come in before the sale ends, thats 50% off brand new titles too.

The animes still seem a bit pricy to me but then again I am real cheap and I only checked out one gs. I think Ima go around the Burnsville/Savage area today and see if there are some cheaper one and/or a better selection.

So yesterday some friends and I stopped by our local Gamestop that is having the sale. My friends found a few things worth picking up, but I didn't. Later on that day we went to Best Buy, where one of my friends told me he had managed to get his local Best Buy to price match Gamestop's Buy 2 get 1 Free sale. So I decide to ask if they will price match the 50% anime sale. The person at customer service asks some people and about 15 minutes later comes back and says yes.

My friends and I are ecstatic, so we go off to pillage Best Buy's anime section. Eventually we get back up to the customer service desk and start checking out. Some new people have shown up there (sigh) so there is some confusion, but eventually they start checking us out.

Of course, they also start calling Gamestop to see if they have these things in stock (which is something I haven't seen them do in a while). I managed to get Ninja Scroll 10th Aniversary, Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke for 50% off.

I was first in line, and my friends behind me then start getting checked out. One or two makes it through the line, then some manager comes out and gives us some song and dance about how they won't price match Gamestop because they are going out of business.

Does anybody know anything about that?

I picked up the entire Lain series and Millenium Actress for around $40. Not much else leftt; some Wolf's Rain, Samurai X, GI Joe, Transformers, and Robotech. Thanks to the OP for the deal.

There is a ton of anime at my store, but I don't like those shows. I will probably pick up invader zim if it is 50% off.
