Gamestop 50% off Preowned External Xbox 360 Hard Drives
so just use a regular thumb drive, format it, transfer data onto it, put new hd in, transfer data from thumb drive to new hd, done.
Or just re-download the stuff without the gimicks. Simple enough. It doesn't transfer full installed games off the HDD, the bulk of my 60GB HDD data.
I'd love to get in on this deal, but I find all of this proprietary nonsense to be just that. Why should I pay $20 for some cheap plastic cable to transfer data from one old hdd, to a new one that cost me the same amount as the cable MS is trying to hock?
Then don't? Just take it to a store that cares about customer service and ask them to please do the transfer for free? I know of multiple stores in my area that do.

Or just buy a used cable and return it when your done (withing return limits of course).

I transfered all my save files by coping them on a 4GB flash drive. And for my dlc and arcade games I just went to xboxlive.com and went to my download history and redownloaded everything, left my xbox on overnight, woke up and everything was good to go.

120gb are back in stock as of 1:45pm... Had gone to the Holland, MI store & the jaded employee said the price was online only and would not scan the one hard drive he had in stock... Came back to the office and was able to get one online for $26.49 shipped! This'll be a HUGE upgrade from the dinky 20gb on my launch 360 (yes, I still have a launch 360 that runs like a champ after the cooling upgrade I had done to it)...
Watch this youtube video how it can be done. Link

Also you can get a slim hard drive case on eBay for like $10. Link

NOTE: The gamestop employee told me the sale ends on Sunday which is tomorrow.
who is the girl and what is the movie in your sig????

As a guy who has been working with an old hard-drive-less Arcade for a while (I know, I know), I am very happy to have 120GB of freedom.

Is there any performance reason to still put game saves and such on a memory card?
just to confirm before i waste my time, it seems all stores are honoring the price in store?
Yes just ask for the HDD size you want and have them sell it to you, don't ask about it as 99 out of 100 they won't know about the sale. It will ring up the promo price.

It's from a Korean TV show that was pretty popular a few years ago. Sorry I can't remember the exact title of the show or her name.
