omg msuhitman, she sounds sado in destroying those guides! what horribleness! back when crestwood had a gamestop the pony tailed red head guy would throw all the guides/mags in a 'trash bag' that he would leave for trash pickup and he was cool if i grabbed it ;) i was also friends with, i think Spencer, who worked at fenton gamestop, but that was like 10 years ago. Time flies. and lol, of course i wouldn't mention penny guides.

also, fwiw, skyrim guide ended up being $9ish for me. it was like 27-$5(weird promo?) -11 -1. so yeah...

This^^^. Sorry for the confusion but it does appear that the 10118 is the PUR pro and then the 2831 is the extra discount when you buy a game and yeah it does get applied after all the other discounts so unless the guide is more than $20 or you were already planning on buying a game then I'd not recommend the links crossbow strategy.

Many times yes they will. Either them or the store manager. Depends on the DM & SM.
 
So is that Arkham City guide $10 in store? Does it have a pretty good Riddler trophy map in there? Would be easier to use that than having to go back and forth to gamefaqs.

My Gamestops have the guides on the shelves by the registers, but more in the closed cabinets behind the counter where the new games are usually kept. I would ask them if they have more as its likely they do, either in the cabinets or in the back room.
 
picked up a copy of the MP3, and Hitman: Absolution guides, and getting my store manager to store transfer me a Far Cry 3 guide. She printed me off a list no problem, of all the guides, one guide was $.01, had no interest though. so i passed.
 
Ugh, another gamestop near me had a TON of 1 cent guides I wanted, but I was told they couldn't be sold to me because they had to trash them on camera in the back or else they would be fired. Really kind of pissed me off. Why rip them up and trash them when you could give them to gamers or sell them. I tried making my case and maybe getting lucky but he had a real stick up his butt, oh well, what a waste.

lol thats definitely not her, However: the first results for that search are articles about a 5 yr old kid getting a refurbed 3ds from gamestop for xmas this past holiday and it had porn on it LOL. gs gave him a new one and some games.. freakin gs hitting an all time low with that one hahaha

B/C their agreement with the book publishers says when the books go out of print they destroy the remaining copies. Same thing is done at Barnes and Noble.

I also picked up the Resident Evil 6 LE, which turned out to cost $16.65. At first I didn't pay attention, just saw a RE6 guide and grabbed it. I didn't even know they offered it in an LE because it's not listed on the site. I was expecting a total of about $20 when the total came up at $32! I went ahead and took it, but it may be going back though I may reconsider; it comes with three embroidered patches from the game.
