Sega genesis mini is already 50 at Amazon and best buy right now and they will both have good of war for 10 also.

 
Finally got my account fixed so I can place online orders again.  Went to go pick up my order and they only have 1 person working??  Seems like an awfully busy time of day (not to mention what week this is) to not have more people working in the store.

Ended up giving up and having to leave because the line was not moving.  Good thing the store is close.

Was going to ask this at the store, but does the layaway plan work pretty well for basically putting something on hold for Black Friday?  Appears to be pretty simple, but wasn't sure if there was some catch to doing it.

 
I feel like the VR bundles might sell out before the $25 GC goes into effect... the 3 stores closest to me are sold out of the 5-game bundle already.

The website hasn't allowed a local stock search for the bundles since at least Sunday. Maybe I should head to the store since I'm hoping to use points to knock off $50 but I haven't been able to order online with my account since August.

yeah i dont think their reflecting correctly, went into a store and they had all the major bundles lined up on the shelf behind the register, best to check in person,

You can try searching on the app. I just did that when I couldn't find the OG XB1 on the website.

Hm... hopefully that is the case. Just odd when I try to check out online, only some stores show it as being in stock but I'm wondering if only stores with more than X number of units show it as in stock and if they hit below a certain point, they no longer show up online.

 
I considered picking up a Yooka for $10, but not surprisingly, all of the stores only have 1 gutted copy and to me that's not worth $10. I refuse to buy glorified display copies from GS as "new". It's worth the $10 extra to just pick it up from Best Buy on Friday. Hate the way GS sells new games, and it's especially bad for Switch because every game only gets 1 measly copy per store. Pathetic, for a "game store".

I tried to avoid getting gutted switch games from GameStop because in the past when I have gotten them the my Nintendo gold coins have been redeemed, furthering the fact that it should just be sold as used.

I bought God of War tonight and renewed my pro membership. Clerk offered me used for 1 buck cheaper and I declined. He gave me a sealed GH version.
 
About the PSVR bundles... What exactly is a gift coupon? I can't read the fine print and it has a star next to it. I'm assuming it has some kind of catch to it or else they'd just say gift card.

Also is the PSVR worth this if you only have a regular PS4, albeit a newer one/not launch? Looking at the 199 bundle.

I think PSVR is pretty awesome and well worth the price. Does that bundle include Astro Bot? That’s THE killer app.

Basically, it's more like a coupon that you can use the day after you get it (can't use it the same day- not sure why that'd matter?) and it'll expire on 1/31/2020. Says it can be used online or in store. Doesn't say any exclusion on what you can use it on but I'm assuming you prob can't use it on virtual currency or subscription cards- prob usable physical new or used.

I'm not sure if you're responding to me but your comment is kind of silly. Almost every single game that is sold there at any one time can be found cheaper elsewhere used and their new prices are often beat as well now, even when they're on sale. They don't have anything you can't get elsewhere, so it's silly for you to assume people "need" them for anything. It's also even worse for you to assume that just because somebody is "bashing" an overpriced store that obviously doesn't care about their customers or employees that somehow means they're just constant complainers.

Yes Gamestop has a few good deals every now and then. And if you're a member AND they have a certain trade in special going on you can SOMETIMES twist it to the point you make a little more off trade ins than you can on Ebay/here, but that's about it. Unless you're super into overpriced, cheaply made merchandise or POP toys (which also can often be found cheaper elsewhere.) Walmart has them beaten on almost all new game prices now and Amazon/this site/Ebay almost always beat them for used prices. So unless you desperately need a game THAT day, it's almost always the worst deal. Please tell me how this makes me or others some kind of constant complainer, rather than just calling it like I see it. Also please tell me what they do or have on a regular basis that can't be found elsewhere or any other merits you think we're all missing.

I just noticed the commenter above me talking about not wanting to buy from GS because of their silly policy of selling open games as new that no other retailer could do with any other item and expect to get away with it. I've seen people like you retort saying they're stupid for caring that the game is open. What most of you don't know is they did this for years while letting employees take the games home to play, bringing them back to the store within a week and re-selling them as new. I'm sure this isn't "technically" allowed there anymore but it could easily be done and with the high mark ups they have on most new games, consumers deserve to know for sure it's new.

So again, please tell me the merit of a store that almost always worse prices used or new than ebay/Amazon/CAG/Walmart (not counting the 2 weeks a year they actually have good sale pricing,) sells you open items as new, treats their employees like crap, gives awful trade in values 99% of the year and up-sells you like crazy on your way out. And again I outlined the few decent things about them as well because I don't just go around looking for things to complain about. Why don't you blind Gamestop defenders go pay $25 for Bully or $30 for Fight Night Champion used and then tell me how much I need them?

I won’t quote that wall of text above, but I will say that while GS has plenty of negatives it would REALLY suck for it to go away due to its sometimes incredible trade-in deals.

Good luck getting $17 for Wii Sports on eBay.

I don't cry about it and I don't really care when I get an open copy...but it IS a really ridiculous and stupid problem. All they need to do is print out a fake one. Color copiers aren't that expensive. Put it in the ps2 cases they throw out. Boom. Game on the shelf, sealed game in drawer.

Idk who didn't think of this extremely obvious solution...
 
Just recieved my Crystal Crisis "launch edition" from GameStop in the mail. It was brand new. You know what I really like about it?  It was already opened, with a huge X-acto knife scar across the top, and there was no cartridge case inside, just the game in a CD sleeve. BRAND NEW guys!!! Seriously, fuck GameStop. Not buying another thing from them.

I also just noticed the sticker says PRE-OWNED.

EDIT: My bad, it says PRE-OWNED Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag.

What a joke. FYI, just Googled the origin of my package, they source their online stuff from actual GS stores so you're getting the same deal whenever you order online. Some jokey store had a gutted copy, so they took it from them and sent it to me. They really have a rich inventory of product, let me tell you.

Yeah, they have been doing that for a while. Its one of the reasons I'm hesitant to order anything listed as "New" from Gamestop's website. Unless they are a brand new release or preorder, half the time they come to you gutted and sometimes without even the game case. "New" games indeed.

Now I typically just buy from Amazon when they price match Gamestop. The only exceptions are of course the Gamestop-exclusives (like Ghostbusters this sale) so I may have to settle for a gut.

Not sure if I misread the official GS ad, but it seems the Switch Sandisk card that’s $14.99 is actually 64gb in the official ad items list, not 128 as listed here.

You did. It clearly says it is the 128gb in the ad. The 64gb one is listed under it for $9.99.

Weird, that’s an error with the ad link I visited. Clearly said the 64gb card was $14.99. It was on one of the Black Friday sites with the GS ad linked. First Google search item for it. Sorry for the sloppy pic...on my cell phone out and about.

EDIT: Yup, the GS official ad shows you're right. Bestblackfriday got it wrong.

Probably. Preowned prices did drop during the "early BF" deals. Which was pretty amazing actually since this used to not happen.

That said.. I am half expecting the website to break to some degree tonight, so who knows what we'll get.

Does anyone know if the $25 coupon is limited to one per transaction? Need to grab a switch and a Pro, if I buy them at the same time would I get one or two $25 coupons?

 
So far I have grabbed Borderlands 3, RDR2, and Control with one set of B2G1 and CAG16. Then I grabbed Days Gone, Spider-Man, and Wolfenstein Youngblood. Picked up the 128GB microSD card as well.

 
Man, I forgot that their site doesn't let you filter items by what's in stock... makes finding things difficult as hell.
