Hm, I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this before...

I ordered the GTA: Double Pack (xbox) when it was $20. I chose free shipping and placed the order. The order was placed on October 20th. It took a while to ship out, but it finally did. However, I never recieved the package. So last week I called customer service and inquired about why I had not recieved it yet. They said it must have been lost and they will mail me an affidavit for me to fill out to get either a refund or actually recieve the item I ordered.

So, has anyone gone through this before, and if so, how did it go?

good luck. i had trouble with one of my games and asked for them to pay for me to ship it back since there was something wrong with it and to replace it with another one. i never got an email back from it.

It's probably a USPS claim form, if I had to guess. Since they shipped it media mail, then they'd have to talk to the USPS.

Good luck in finding it.

Since you didn't receive the package you have nothing to worry about. Just check with anyone living in your house to make sure they didn't put it aside somewhere and forget about it.

I'm guessing gamestop checked the DC number and it shows it as delivered or they wouldn't bother with making you fill out the form. Just a guess. Either the USPS screwed up, a neighbor took the package from your doorstep, someone in the house misplaced it, or I guess it's possible you gave them the wrong delivery address - did you verify the address they sent it to?

If I had to bet, I'd go with option B.

HAs your card been charged? If so, that means the package was marked as "delivered" and it might make it harder to get another one.

I'm pretty sure most if not all merchants charge your card when the item is shipped. They don't wait until the DC# shows it as delivered.

And give gamestop a chance to make it right before filing a CC dispute. That should only be done when the vendor has refused to make it right or is ignoring you.

Yeah, I know EB does that. But Gamestop will probably check to see where the package(who knows? maybe the mailman in your area took it?)

Any merchant these days bills on the day it ships or the day after it ships. At least, the couple dozen different ones I've dealt with in the last year. Seeing the charge only shows that the item has shipped, not that it's been delivered.

If it's lost it shouldn't be the customer's job to track it down. Making it right would entail either issuing a refund or sending out another copy and then dealing with the postal service on their own.

True, but I'm guessing their standard procedure is to check the DC #. If it shows that the package was never delivered they send a new one out to the customer ASAP. I'm guessing the USPS is showing the package as delivered and that is why they are having him fill out the form. This is all assumption on my part, however. Or maybe he has had other stuff lost in the mail to him in the past from gamestop and he is flagged in their system, who knows?

If I were the OP I would ask them for the DC# or at least ask them if the USPS shows it as delivered. If it turns out they for some reason don't have a DC# or they do and it doesn't show the package as delivered... Then I would probably get a bit POed over being asked to do a form.

When I ordered my Double Pack, my card wan't charged until after it was delivered to my home address. I don't know if it was just a coincidence, but ti can't hurt to check.
