Basically, bought the AC::Brotherhood CE for $59.99, DLC included code claimed already, I go back to return it, they don't want to replace, I told them to give my money back. Store guys says "We have another one but it's open, and We aren't allowed to sell unsealed items" Don't know if its true or not. He didn't want to give my money back so put it back on a gift card, and I bought the Bioshock 2 LE for the PS3 + Ratchet and clank CIT = 59.99, it wasn't sealed and I took it back to the car. The record was missing! Went back and told him about the missing record, he had no idea what to do until I told him give me my money back now! Return everything, Also told him about their trade in policy of basically supply and demand. Told the rep that take games that haven't been scratched to hell. explaining that the trade in value wold be much higher and demand for the trade in lower which would result in higher values because only taken care of games would be used as trade ins.

I got over the new/opened product policy, but I guess I have to watch out for swiped DLC now and bonus items. Buying new from Gamestop is last resort for me. That sucks that someone at your Gamestop swiped the DLC code and the bonus record, though.

And I'm sure based on what you told him, they are actively working to change their policies and practices. An hourly clerk could give two shits about what you think about their trade policy.

People shop at Gamestop and continue to complain. That's a better thread title.

The place sucks. Don't shop there=problem solved. I haven't set foot in one in going on 5 years.

ummm something in your story doesnt add up.... so your saying you got 3 brand new sealed games and things were missing....

they have to be sealed cause you said in your own words..... Gamestop is not allowed to sel unsealed items....

or did you buy bioshock and ratchet used.. if they were used there is no way your going to get a 100% of everything when you buy used.

why wouldnt their trade in policy be supply and demand...they are not going to buy 10000 copies of sprung for the ds... and if people took better care of games would not have anything to do with vaule... and even if it did a normal person would never see it..

Game A is now worth 15 bucks ..... well people would pay 20 bucks if the game is better taken care of..

who is to say gamestop would increase the trade in vaule of Game A even if people paid 20... they would just pocket the extra 5 as profit..

but if you walked into the store and picked up 3 brand new sealed games.. and then came walking into the store i would think something was up.... i would of never gave your cash back or even credit back after the 3rd time...i would hand replacement games to you...Made you open them up in the store... to them it seems your Stealing the extra items..

cause like you said if they can sell UNSEALED ITEMS how would your DLC be used

AC:Brotherhood and Bioshock 2 LE were not sealed, only Ratchet and Clank was sealed, I returned it along with the others out of frustration, I didn't open R&C. after I took AC back, they sold me a game with the new label on bioshock 2 LE, I checked it in the car. I never said anything was missing from R&C, took it back because I got mad. I seriously doubt there is a supply of of 10,000 per game per store, you taking it into per store. One store likely has 4,5 copies of a used game, 3 out the 4 are usually scratched, at least where I live. I wasn't really referring to cartridge based games. if store A sold those 4,5 good clean used copies to customers, and a week later 6 more come in, 5 are in bad condition, refusing those copies will make gamestop raise the value of the game to attract more copies that are clean. it is highly unlikely your going to get 20 copies of the same game per store.

See there is your problem. Why did you accept a game marked as new but not sealed? I don't agree with this policy from GS but honestly who would accept that? I can't really understand people who complain about this since it's so easy to refuse to buy a product marked as new but not sealed.

Amazon, Amazon, Amazon It's the reason I shop nowhere else. Well except Target when they clearance their games dirt cheap and Newegg - but Amazon eventually price matchs them.

Agreed. I buy most everything from Amazon except for groceries, toiletries, cat food and litter and clothing.

Have an Amazon visa and rack up gift cards. Also have a Kindle and an Prime account. Just can't beat the prices, fast shipping and convenience of shopping online.

This, it's not rocket science folks.

I don't shop there, but when Amazon has the Bioshock 2 LE for 60 and gamestop 29.99 and AC: CE for 100 and gamestop 59.00, where would i go to buy?

I discovered a new dissapointment. I was there last week while my car was at the dealer getting the ecm replaced from a manufacturer recall. While I was waiting I walked across the street to a gamestop (after swearing them off years ago I thought Id pop in to see if things had changed) and the girl there wasnt exactly very nice, a little snotty to be honest but I brushed her off and I bought some cheap gamecube games. When I get home I open it up to find......

Yup, roaches, multiple ones. This game had 3 of them inside it and they laid eggs and stained the inside of the manual. The thing is you couldnt have missed them when you put the used game in it, I certainly didnt when I opened it and legs started falling out on my desk. Both gamecube games had roaches in it and the psp game I had picked up also had a roach head inside the umd case stuck in the back in plain view. Its not like they were behind the games artwork or something where you couldnt see and its not like they were tiny or even just one.

So I called gamestop and told the girl answering the phone and her reply was "Well the games work dont they?" and after a long pause gave me that big sigh and said if I have to return them I can in that kind of smarmy snide attitude. I called their customer service both on employee attitude and roachs and they said "Well that shouldnt be, but we will certainly pass your comments a long to the district manager of that store, can I help you with anything else?" and I hung up. After such shitty all around customer service and roachs I finally lost all faith in them.

so roaches love the mystic heroes game....

come on Roaches want to play too .....

really though i would of turned them into the board of health

Seriously, if there were roaches in that store I would not go back for any reason!! You are better off out a few games than many dollars for roach removal. Roaches are incredibly easy to spread, and if you get the eggs in your house and they start to multiply it will become a nightmare that you do not want to face, seriously. If that store has roaches you can bring the eggs back into your house on your shoes. If your house hasn't already been infested consider yourself very very lucky and hope an infestation doesn't break out.

I would seal the games in a plastic bag and take them to another non-infested gamestop to return them (if its possible to find one that isn't infested in your area). After documenting everything of course.

I think the roach story should be sent to the consumerist, its definitely material worthy of sending to them. http://consumerist.com/

FYI: Best Buy has the AC: B CE for $60 too and the Bioshock 2 LE has been $30-35 at many BB stores for a while now.;)

As for the used DLC, did you mean that the voucher was missing or that it was there but USED already?

If the voucher was MIA completely, then that's a known issue and you have to contact Ubisoft for that.

I did not know they were the same price at bestbuy, gamestop where I live, is 4 minutes away by car, it's really close. And the DLC code was claimed already.

Closest GS for me is about a 5-10 minute ride by car or about 20-25 minutes walking while the closest BB is about 15-20 minutes drive and 40 minutes to an hour walk or so.

But the redeemed DLC code is total bullshit. Did they have the box out on the floor as a display? If they did, then chances are someone snapped a cell phone pic of it and used it, since I had the same thing happen to the VIP code vouchers for Bad Company 2 I picked up from HWV with the empty game cases I bought from them en masse.

I love it when people do stuff like that that or try to haggle with trade-in prices or whatever. Always makes me laugh.
