Hey man
That's ridiculous. There is no way to track the life of a DVD and "looking to see if there are stickers" is a ridiculous way to try, you could just take the stickers off.
I'd ask to talk to a manager if I were you, as that is incredibly unfair, and as a company policy, is simply not true.
If the manager says it is, tell him it's ridiculous because people can just take the stickers off, and go to another FYE.
Employees of stores can make up whatever bullshit they want so don't let the fact that they work there make you think that they have some kind of a"be-all" voice for the company - this goes for managers as well.
Even if the manager says he won't take it if it was bought used, just take the DVDs somewhere else. I sell mine with stickers all over them, and the cases are usually beat to shit - as long as the DVDs are scratch-free, they should take them in.
It is really up to the particular employee working at the time when you trade things in (if you ever buy a scratched used DVD, it's because some employee didn't really check it), so if you have a problem you think isn't fair, talk to the manager, and if he's a dick, go to another FYE/Moviestop.
unfortunately it was a store manager that kinda knows my face. its no big deal to take the stickers off, but thtanks for your help. i may call a different one and ask about it and see what happens. the only reason i dont want to is i probably have 50 or so that i would trade in just to recoup from all that i have spent so far on this deal. im talking, after discounts, 600-700 out of pocket since i just started getting into flipping and didnt really have credit at all.
