Deal in title starts tomorrow. Not sure if it's all stores, but but the manager at the one by me said it should stack with edge- he also let me hold about a dozen dvds (ATHF box sets will be like $3 after all discounts) Happy Hunting-

Wow, what a ride today. I hit up a total of 9 gamestops, like I planed. Some were total busts, not having anything, some had next to nothing, but two of the stores had a ton of stuff. I bought way more then I should, and its going to take a while to list everything, but most of what I got was gameboy games, only one store had movies, and not many at that. So let me just add up the total I spent. *Looks over receipts* About $200. One of the over receipts is larger then I am ;)

Bought
Pixar Short Films (Bluray) - $2
IMAX Space Shuttle (Bluray) (?) - $1.30
WWF Monday Night War - $1.30
WWF Foley Hard Knocks - $1.30
WWF Benoit Hard Knocks - $1.30
Random Mick Foley comp - $0.30

If anyone finds The Simpsons Season 6 with the standard case (not the Homer head), I'm looking to swap my Homer case packaging for it. I have the S6 set complete (cards, case, slipcase), but I'm obsessive about it looking weird on my shelf (I have S1-9) and every other case is the standard box. Please PM me - willing to add PayPal/Live subs to make this work.

I think I went overboard :D

I'm going to have to check this out today, would this apply to new DVDs too? I know that some stores still have those random, mixed in "new" copies of various Red vs. Blue DVDs.

None of my stores had much at all... crazy knowing I didnt clean them out last year... alot of them had boxes of games behind the counter... I still made off with about 15 or so games...

Did luck out though and traded a couple sears clearance games to a guy for a stack of about 16 N64 games (the games I had were worth about $6)... and got a few really good games like Smash Bros, Diddy Kong Racing, both Zeldas... kinda wierd doing gaming business inside of a GS... but they dont take N64 games anymore and this gy was desperate to unload them

I picked up a few gameboys games. For those getting the pokemon games and other games that have an internal battery the games will not save, so they are pointless. I picked up a pokemon gold and pokemon silver and I cant even save the game. I think its because the internal battery has died.

Cleaned out 3 GS in the Carrollton and Douglasville areas (around 35-40 games for $49. Nothing too spectacular.) All three had stopped selling DVDs awhile back, but got their remaining GB/GBC games. I guess I'm a hoarder at heart. :whistle2:(

so replace the battery... all these games are like 10 years old, so expect the battery to be bust.

No go on "new" dvds. I tried to pick up RE: Extinction and it stayed 15.99 while all the other prices dropped. Watching the total diminish on the card swiper comes a close second to the expressions on some employees' faces.

I haven't tried it, but there may be a fix: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-pokemon-goldsilve/

Yea, I know I will have to. I just wanted to make others aware of it.

"new" dvds are a no, unless since most of them are open you can convince an employee to make it used. i tried at this one gs and they couldnt find the disc and said they were going to get rid of the case, last night the case was back on the shelf and i asked again and an employee that has been there for years (back when it had a different name every other year) said that they had to sell it as new, so YMMV
Any word on this working for HD DVDs? My local GS has Heroes season one.
Go get it.

Most stores were completely out of these games but the one I hit, had them in bags. Nice find. Thanks TC for the heads up on this.

I called a location that has a couple hundred GB/C games to see if I could get them shipped to my area. The guy said yes! He got a little suspicious though, and like an idiot I said how I went to like 8 different locations and I want them because I'm a collector and they are 85% off with edge. He definitely thought I was a weirdo, and God knows what kind of note he'll put in the box for my local manager to read LOL

Oh well, seriously at 85% off you can't fault someone for wasting a whole tank of gas driving around :D

Now that's pretty cool. I wonder what the key is to find the needle in the haystack of stores that have that many GB games in stock. I found a couple of decent stores, but I'd love to buy more.

Fox discontinued that promotion shortly after S7 came out. :(

Picked up American Psycho (BR) and X-Files S1&2 today. AP was $2.25 after discount and Edge, and the X-Files sets were $4.xx. :)
tincredible hulk

i am legend
all on blu ray for about 24 in credit. Awesome deal OP.
only saw powerpuff girls gbc tho.
Wish some of these title were around me, I went to most of the GS's in my area and all I managed to pick up was Superman The Movie, Stargate, and American Psycho on BR, would have loved to have found a lot more.

I was able to get:
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - 1.50
Drawn Together Season 2 - 1.95
SNL Best of Phil Hartman - .90
Futurama Vol. 1 - 3.00
Live Free or Die Hard (Blu Ray) - 2.70

With discount and edge it came to 10.88!
The cases for Futurama and Drawn Together are pretty beat up though.
Thanks OP!

I'm hitting up all of the stores within 30 or so miles of me that have a good selection of GB/GBC games still tomorrow in order to combine the 85% off with the B2G1 Free on all used starting tomorrow.

I went to a few stores close by around me yesterday, absolutely crap as far as selection of DVDs was concerned. Blu Ray and GB/GBC was practically nil. So wish me luck!!!

The dude getting the discs from the drawers was in a bitchy mood and was throwing my cases around and slapping the discs into the cases. I wish I had my glitter gun!

man i really wish my gamestop carried more BD's. i picked up spiderman 3 and superman the movie for 4 bucks total using my edge.

Thanks for the thread

I went to 2 gamestops today and 1 had no dvd's and the other one had a bunch but there was nothing good so I didn't get anything. :(
got Spider man 3 blu for 3.50 ( i dont have edge) and species for 4.50..
total was 7.XX
if you are going to going to anymore gamestops for this deal of any deal it is completely worth it. 6 or 7 blus the extra credit off will pretty much pay for it and then you have it for 1 year and a magazine that is pretty decent.

Edge is awesome. Plus, GI Mag is awesome as well.

10% doesn't seem like much alone, but when you get one of those 25% off Wii/Ps3/whatever games, it stacks for an obscene 35% off. That's better than the damn employee discount (which doesn't work with any coupons other than edge).

You realize that with this deal, the difference between having an Edge card and not is the difference between you paying 15% of the original price vs. 25% of the original price? That's a full 40% less you're paying for these with the Edge card than if you don't have it.

?????????

I believe it's only 10% as always the difference.

I managed to not go crazy with this, so far. I've only found 2 stores that have dvds, and didn't buy anything at the first.

Things I've passed on:
Sliders Season 3
Star Trek Original, plastic hinge case, not sure which season, it was the red one.
A Christmas Story HD-DVD (I kind of regret not getting this one)
Queer as Folk, seasons 1 and 2, boxes were incomplete and in bad shape.
Star Trek Deep Space 9, season 6
Entourage, season 3 (don't remember if it was part 1 or 2)
Married with Children, season 4 (I think)
24 Season 1, I think (I have it, whatever season it was)
Children of Men HD-DVD (case was messed up)
Hart's War HD-DVD
King Kong HD-DVD (have it)

If it wasn't a TV series or HD-DVD/Blu-Ray, I didn't pay any attention to it, so there is a bunch of stuff I didn't list, including a lot of anime at one of the stores.

The only things I picked up were Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, and Spider-Man 3, both on Blu-ray. I didn't really want Spider-Man 3, but it was $1.50 after discounts, and I just couldn't pass up a Blu-ray for $1.50.

Its the difference between paying $0.15 on the dollar vs. $0.25 on the dollar. A $9.99 DVD is $1.50 with Edge, $2.50 without...a $19.99 box set is $3 vs. $5...it really adds up since it comes off of the original price.

So, okay, I went a little crazy with this. According to my Excel spreadsheet, original price of everything was roughly $2,340 and I paid just under $350. I'm keeping about 75% of what I picked up DVD-wise, about 15% are going to be gifts (my girlfriend is a professional animator and I think I've managed to fill quite a few holes in her DVD collection, especially with the Disney stuff, my little brother is really into Bionicle, and everyone's parents love Raymond), the remaining 10% will probably be sold to recoup what I spent so I can pay my rent.

All I can say is that I'm really glad that I didn't spend $30 in my BBV credit on Iron Man or Hulk when they first came out, and that I check multiple threads on CAG, because I found a whole bunch of penny guides in my adventures. Either they just didn't care about giving them to me or they didn't want to argue with someone buying $700 worth of inventory before discounts, but I didn't get denied for any of them. =D

I bought Pirates on two different formates before realizing that I already had it on BD from the B2G4. I also now have a sealed Transformers on HD-DVD that'll be going up for trade (think this has any potential long-term value for HD or TF collectors?). I've had to remove my PS3 games from the PS3/Blu Ray shelf and I still don't have room for all of my Blu Rays. And I have no idea where I'm going to put the stacks of DVDs that I'll be adding to my collection.

But thanks a ton OP -- I got to practically have Black Friday deals a full five days early =D
?????????

I believe it's only 10% as always the difference.
For a $100 purchase, it's the difference between paying $15 and $25. $15 is 40% less than $25.

I suppose my wording was probably a bit confusing, but I meant that using the Edge card will make things 40% cheaper than they would have been without using the Edge card. Mostly I'm good at numbers. Not so much with the words.

Also, I'm extremely jealous, Slim. I've tried all three stores I know of that sell DVDs, and I got maybe a dozen movies and box sets. I've also never seen a blu-ray at GS, only HD DVDs. Congrats on the haul!

I knew what you meant.
...Yeah, Rave, but that doesn't really align properly with your first post.
Also, Guessed, I sent you a PM Lulz.
Responded. Will see what I can do.

Picked up:

Blazing Saddles (BR)
Underworld:Evolution (BR)
Terminator 2 (BR)
Open Season (BR)
Hart's War (BR)
Chain Reaction (BR)
Phantom of the Opera (BR)
Spiderman 3 (BR)
Ice Age:Meltdown (BR)
Weeds season 2 (BR)
Mind of Mencia season 1 (DVD)
Simpsons Gone Wild (DVD)

GB and GBC selection was really shitty. I will hit the other GS in my area later on today. It was nice to see the total for 6 of the BRs go from $113.xx to $17.05 especially since the clerk told me the promo didn't apply to BR. Out of the 5 GS I went to only 2 had an actual DVD section. I got lucky that I found the 6 BRs at a GS with no DVD section. I even passed on Jumper BR since it didn't have a case. I was basically buying every BR I could find.
