Gamestop Labor Day Yellow Tag Blowout

CAGiversary!
(Im back from the dead)

Gamestop will be having a yellow tag labor day videogame blowout. Thursday night each store's label printer will print up new stickers for 500 games to be retagged for Friday morning, and the beginning of the labor day game blowout sale.

The list of games will not be known until coorporate sends the stickers through thursday night, but get to your local GS this weekend for some hella deals :D
Good for you, except for the fact that EB charges much, MUCH more for most of those games that you collect (IE, most RPG's, and other popular but hard to find games). It's sad when I copy of Parasite Eve is $15 at EB, while it's only $7 at Gamestop. Why do you even try?

As to that last paragraph, I don't know what to say about you if you honestly keep prices tabbed on all of there games, that just makes me shudder at the thought of meeting some CAG's in person.
This is true. I prefer gamestop for a few reasons, like checking store availability - which does work, if you know how to watch it. Stickers come off easy. I got a 10 issue subscription to gameinformer and a free gamestop card for $10. Good customer service.

I'm someone that can't relate to all the gamestop bashing. The two by my house have excellent service, and my stops to other gamestops were great too. ebgames is good too, but I prefer gamestop. Gamecrazy is shit, all the employees I've seen there were just fucking around because they didn't care.

My sentiments exactly.

I took a look at the prices and I'd agree that the sale is a joke. Items are only marked down 2-5 bucks at the most. Not really much of a sale.

Went to the sale, most of the marked down games were still 2x the price of games at Gamerush. The only thing semi decent was a used Saw UMD for $9.99.
I think the word blowout in the title of this thread is a little misleading :|
Or rather, change it to the "Gamestop can Blow it Out their Rear Sale"

I've never had a problem with my local Gamestop, but they're right next to an EB, so they can't really sell games for more than the EB does for fear of losing buisness. And the Gamestop employees have always been a lot nicer than the EB ones (a few of which made fun of me for selling Star Fox Adventures. They wouldn't believe that I had beaten it :|. Whatever, fuck them :D. That was a few years ago though, and nothing bad since then), but I do like EB for their trade in deals. I may have to start buying games online

Just to let you know - both ebgames near me are complete bullshit. Poor customer service and disgusting upkeep on prices/games.

The gamestops are godly.

I like eb's sales more though.

I went to a store here in Nor Cal yesterday and they didnt have any special sales at all, no yellow tags nothing. Just the sam ol prices.

Ok, its not like i keep a written list of all the games prices or anything lol, i do not collect ps1 rpg's or expensive ps1 games, but yes i know many other people do. Thats why i say for the majority of ebgames ps1 games they are much cheaper than gamestop, if ebgames has a game for 1.99 then its probably at least 7.99 at gamestop. Most of the rare games probably get scooped by the employees at my ebgames since they are all collectors of games.

Keeping tabs on the game prices means for me that when i am near a gamestop i go in just to check the prices in case something is marked really cheap, you never know. On occasion you can find something cheaper than at ebgames but its rare. I am in ebgames a lot preordering and stuff so if there is a line or something i walk around the store and look at prices to see what they are charging for various items. I also do this because i do a lot of garage sale shopping so i need to know what retail stores are charging because something at a garage sale should obviously be cheaper than the retail price in a store. Basically i need to have a general idea of what the current value of games that i collect are so i am not overpaying at someone's garage sale. I certaintly dont want to get stuck paying an outrageous price for something because a lot of people at yard sales here have games that cost more than ebgames charges. People do not realize things depreciate and think they can charge exactly what they paid retail for an item, ex. oh i paid 50$ back in the day for superman 64, so tagging the game with 25$ is giving someone a sale. So by researching current values of games i can avoid situations where, 25$ is a good price for superman 64, i paid 50$ for that back in the day you know!!! hehe.
Along with EB and everywhere else.....
I threw that in, in case people were wondering about it. Sale indeed.
