GS FAQ

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of a game (per system) within a rolling 30 day period.

What do I need to trade in an older console?

the console, power cable, av cable, and controller; sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3ds xl trade would be console, charger, stylus. Some have reported being charged refurb fee for a stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)

FAQ will be entered when those questions get asked frequently.

seems like that would be the easiest game in the world to cancel a preorder on. just say you just found out its free on gamepass and would be crazy to pay full price for it.
Damn, I thought I was the only one clever enough to use that excuse. I'll be pushing it over to Farcry 5 to get that sweet GS exclusive coffee cup.

yeah, i might even throw in a question like "why didnt you guys tell me that when i preordered?" see if i can get a nervous laugh out of them, will definitely be able to throw them off enough that they wont be thinking about how i never pick up a preorder.

Just ran through my numbers and I'm at about $1900 in trade in's... lol oh well. Only thing I had left was to trade in my release day nintendo switch since I got a new one with the boost's. Tho I think I can do that without tying it to my account.

Oh you gotta be kidding me. I just bought it today and just opened it to play. I'm going to see if they can give me the $10 back because it's literally only been a day.

EDIT: Oh great, I'm now realizing the Gamestop I did a return at threw out my receipt that had Paradise on it. This is going to be worse than I thought

Or buy a copy for $29.99 and return it with your receipt (preferably to a different store or on another day) for the $39.99 copy.

Well things got worse. I bought Paradise in the same transaction as a B2G1, I did a return/rebuy at another store to switch out the games from the promo and now I'm realizing that they threw out the receipt. This is going to be a bigger hassle than I expected.

I guess the question would be if $10 is worth the apparent hassle?

Anybody trade in a DS4 or Xbox One controller today? Did you get $38.75 for it if so?
I’m elite pro and traded a ds4 towards ni no kuni at a prestige store yesterday. I got $35 trade credits. The 10% extra for trades at prestige stores was for games not accessories.
PSA: fill out dem surveys so we can get more prestige stores and sales.

They can look up your receipt via their computer as long as you have your PUR card and used it on the transaction which I'm certain that you did. It's not a big deal at all.

You have to put them cartridge in a switch and redeem the coins.

The coins only stay in your Nintendo account for 1 year after redeeming them.

You can only redeem coins from games for 1 year after their release date.

May be a stupid question but I had a buy 2 get 1 for preowned games the other day but two of them suck, can't get into them at all. If I return them what happens, can I pick out two different ones or will I just get money back for one since one of them was the free game?

If your store is cool and/or has a knowledgeable employee, you might be able to exchange the two games for two others at the same price point if you explain the situation.

Is transferring from one preorder to another equivalent to canceling? In other words, does the store take a hit from it?
It's a wash because the new pre order your transferring to counts positively. It's essentially canceling the one pre order and then making a new pre order of the other game.

I had a store state that they could not see an older preorder from the same location. I wanted to transfer it to something new. I see it in the app. So I had to do a new one. Were they pulling my chain or could they really not see it?

Burnout Paradise remastered is already $22 used with Elite.

Must be selling bad. Hope this doesn't mean we won't get a Burnout 3 remastered.

In my (Android) app, I still see a CoD:WWII pre-order that I moved over to CoD:BO4 last week, even though that WWII pre-order is officially canceled. Did you cancel that pre-order and forget about it perhaps?

So how long do the trade in criedit bumps usually stay at that price? A week?
Typically though EOB Monday, but I bet some values could change before then...

Also, last I checked it was $35 pre discounts. YMMV, but that seems to apply to both promo discounts and any Elite Pro discount.

Source: had $8 worth of 4 for 10 games ship for free because they were $40 pre discount.

Got the last "new" copies of Lego world and Lego ninjago and they were opened display copies. Of course the my Nintendo coins had been redeemed for both by some scummy GameStop employee. Gotta love their "new" games.
