CAGiversary!
Speaking about gutted games...I ran into the same problem last week at a GS not even close to me.
So, I see a copy of Xenosaga III at this particular GS (its the really small one in the Christiana Mall, Delaware) for $29.99. I'm thinking...not a bad price and I haven't found it at any other store. So, I purchase it...no problem right?
I bring the gutted copy to the counter (along with Luminous Arc). At first, the clerk was about to take the game out of the drawer and sell me the gut. I quickly stop him and tell him that I see two sealed (key word here!) copies in the cabinet behind him. He grabs one of them and a sealed Luminous Arc, rings me up and off I go not thinking to check my new swag as stuff behind the counter is usually sealed.
I get to my hotel that night and open up the games and lo and behold, the Xenosaga III I was sold new was not shrinkwrapped, it was not sealed. It was open, had a $39.99 sticker (dating back from 09/03/06) on it and a piece of tape to close the case.
WTF!? I particularly didn't mind since the game was still in good shape, but the case feels a little dirty. But, seriously, WTF? I was sold a "what was once" a gutted copy as new that was behind the counter and the store had a gutted copy for display. Then again...that particular GS was small, cramped and horribly organized.
