I've received a couple pm's from people wanting to contribute prices but don't want to get harassed about selling to someone or getting more at place x. If this is the case for anyone, you can pm me any values and I'll update them in the list and database.
Instructions on finding games in the database and inputting the values from different sections can be found in my blog post here: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=14143. I would put the entire post in the thread but this is already kind of a large post.

PLEASE POST BASE VALUES & SYSTEM IT IS FOR.

FAQ
These trade-in values are really low!
While that may be true, if you combine the games with the right promotion they can work to your advantage. There are knowledgeable people in this thread that are normally willing to help.

Is there any way to look at what the previous values reported on a game?
You can search through this thread and previous ones to see what a game has been reported in the past. With the TIV Tracker you can sort by date and then go through the list of past updated values through that as well. Here are the previous GS TIV Threads: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Can I trade-in sealed games?
No. You might come across the rare GameStop that would let you do it, but they are going to open them anyway.

Do trade-ins have to have their original case, insert and manual?
No, however it will be YMMV on if they charge you a refurbish fee for them in that condition. Most GameStops wont charge a fee but there are some that charge for incomplete games.

Will they accept my game if it is really beat up?
YMMV. It really all depends upon the employee you get. Some will charge refurbish fees, some wont, some wont accept the game and others just take them without a second glance.

What are the refurb fees on games?
There appears to be set prices for set value ranges. We aren't 100% certain on the splits just yet. Here is what we have currently:
$0.25-$2 Value:
$0.75 Refurb Fee
$2.01-$4 Value: $1 Refurb Fee
$4.01-$7 Value: $2 Refurb Fee
$7.01-$10 Value: $3 Refurb Fee
$10.01 & Higher Value: $4 Refurb Fee
This information isn't guaranteed by any mean and we are still working on nailing it down.

I have a Collector's/Limited/Special edition of a game, do I have to trade-in all of the extras?
No, but there are a handful of games that their variations have separate listings at GameStop: Madden 09 Anniversary Edition, Battlefield: Bad Company Gold Edition, and a few others.

Why didn't the percent bonus go for my accessory for a system that was included?
Unless stated otherwise, and they are rarely included, the bonuses never apply to accessories. Except the EDGE card of course.

I traded in a bunch of games for the "Trade X, get $X bonus" promo and it gave me the percentage bonus instead?
I can't give concretes on why this happens. GameStop computers are normally pretty good at giving you the better promo. In the case of a percentage bonus being run at the same time as a "Trade X, get $X" promo, things can get messy. The system appears to only give one promo on games per transaction so if you had a few games that you want to go to the percentage bonus and a stack for the "Trade X, Get $X" it will regularly apply the percentage to all of the games. Your best bet is to do all "Trade X, Get $X" games in one transaction on their own. The GameStop clerk may say that the system will figure it all out, tell them you want a separate transaction anyway. As always, check your receipt before you leave the store.

Can I trade in multiple copies of the same game?
YMMV. The official policy is no, but there are some GameStops that overlook that rule.

What all do I have to trade in for a console trade-in?
Xbox 360: Console Unit, power brick, A/V Cables, Controller (wired/wireless)
Wii: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cables, Wiimote, Nunchuck, Sensor Bar
Playstation 3: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller, USB Cable
Playstation 2: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller (Must be a DualShock2)
GameCube: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller
PSP: Handheld, A/C Adapter
Nintendo DS/DSLite/DSi: Handheld, A/C Adapter, Stylus

Can I trade in a defective/broken console?
For the most part yes. If it powers on but doesn't play games, they will take the console as a refurb unit and put a refurb fee on the console. The refurb fee on the console will vary on the price of the console so those numbers will change. You are still required to trade in everything required listed in the question directly above. They will not, however, take RROD 360 consoles. There may be stores that still do it, but official policy is to not take them in.

How much does an EDGE card subscription cost?
It costs $14.99 and is good for a year. It also comes with a 1-year subscription to Game Informer magazine.

What bonuses come with having an EDGE card?
You will get an extra 10% trade-in credit on the base value of the game and an extra 10% off the purchase of used games.

Does the EDGE Card give me a bonus on hardware trade-ins?
No. You will only get the bonus for games and accessories.

What if I want cash instead of credit, what do they deduct?
If you decide that you want cash instead of credit, they will take 20% off the base values and promos will not apply.

Does promo "....." have a minimum trade-in value?
If the promo has a minimum trade-in value requirement, it will be listed in the promo. If it isn't there, then there is no limit. However, as with all trades, they are subject to manager approval so the manager could have setup his own little rule-set requiring a minimum of whatever.

I used a Power Trade promo for a pre-order, can I cancel that pre-order and get the credit or move it to another game I want?
Yes on both accounts. However, if you do a bunch of the power trades and just straight drop the pre-order you could create some ill-will between yourself and the employees you cancel on.

I just tried to use a promo that has a select list of games eligible, but they say my game isn't eligible anymore, what gives?
Basically they have the right to change the eligible games at any time. They tend to update these frequently so as to lock out any easy/cheap games. It's best to check the eligible list the day of your trade.

Can I stack two different trade-in promos?
No. The only thing that will stack with trade-ins is your EDGE card.

If I pay for an item using all credit on my card, do I have to pay sales tax?
This varies depending upon the state you live in.

What states charge sales tax on purchases paid in full with credit and which ones don't?
Charge Sales Tax on Credit Purchases: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia
Does Not Charge Sales Tax on Credit Purchases: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming
No Information Yet: Connecticut, Idaho, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Dakota

My state doesn't charge sales tax on purchases made by credit, why is gamestop.com charging me tax?
It is just the way they have designed their system. The best theory we have seen is that since you are only inputting the number off of the back of the card, it isn't going to pick up the programming from the specially tagged EDGE cards. Some kind of programming that gets input from their system that wont show up when only inputting the number off the back of the card.

First post contains promo information and the FAQ. Second post has the 360/Wii/PS3 values. Third post has the PS2/GC values. Fourth post has DS/PSP/GBA values.
I'm in the same boat. I have no chance to leave work when they would get their shipment. Most of the stores told me around 11AM or Noon. That's out in the Western Suburbs so it may be different elsewhere.
well crap some more because im in the western suburbs

Ya the store Im at is in AZ and they said their shipment comes sometime between opening and noon. Even though I'm camping out I will be hanging around at their store till their shipment comes.

For anyone in Grand Rapids, MI the gamestop's around me said they were all getting shipments today and UPS comes between 11-1. Gamestops I called were the 3700 Rivertown (in the mall), the one on Wilson across from the mall, and the one by celebration cinema out in Caledonia.

I am home now and can confirm that the system is still not picking up the promo and many of you could possibly still get $125 for your xbox. I had a relatively intelligent guy running the register for me when it first came up to $60 he adjusted it to $75 so that after adding the $25 it would be $100, but good luck to the rest of you it purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs like a kitten and the wifi is really strong I have it a good 25 feet from router and it is still showing full strength.

EDIT: BTW you get 228GB of actual space on the drive in case anyone was curious I guess that's acceptable.

If you are in the Downriver area of Michigan, all of the Taylor GameStops got them in this morning. I went when they opened and there was only one other person. Kinda surprising.

The guy hooked me up on the trade-ins.... I ended up with $284 credit! For an Xbox 360, 120gb HDD, 2 PnC kits, Wireless controller, 2 headsets, Red Dead Redemption, Halo 3 ODST, and like 7 games that are 3 years old. It was shocking when he told me $284. lol

^ The guy even caught the mistake of giving me $25 extra for the console. I was bummed. :( lol

Mine had 8 yesterday, none left. They said they are taking $50 reservation for next week.
I also asked about trading in my 3 hard drives said they aren't supposed to, but a manager may allow it.

The one at Telegraph and Ecourse, by the Walmart, or one of the ones on Eureka, by the mall? The regular daytime guys at that Telegraph store are some of the best GS employees I've ever dealt with. But I doubt they "hooked you up," I'm sure you just got the same deal anyone else could get. But that is a pretty sweet trade total.
probably been asked already but if i bring in 2 xbox's will I get $200 or $100 for one and reg trade in for the other?
Apparently the trade bonus will only apply for one, is up to the manager to override the bonus on the 2nd unit. I brought both my units with me to work today, I'll be calling around before lunch and hopefully I get lucky with a GS nearby.

just got the new slim but the guy messed up the prices. when I told him, he basically told me I don't know how to do it, come back when my boss is here

He took a bunch of fifty cent games and quarter games and included them in on the "Get 10 for 3" offer. I'd say that is a minor hook up. :p

Yea, the one in front of WalMart. Think the guys name is Clint, he is always really nice when I go in there. The people working in the mall are the worst. Ugh.
How much does a play and charge get you in credit value?
They gave me like $6.50 each for my PnC kits.
How much does a play and charge get you in credit value?
The guy quoted me $6, but I remember someone saying $4. I didn't trade mine. $6 is well worth having a PnC.

Yeah 6 bucks isn;t really all that worth it.

So I called both of the gamestops near me (I live in Minnesota) and the first one honestly had no clue what was going on...The second one was more helpful telling me that they are still waiting on the shipment but had no actual idea when it would be.

*sigh* I might have to wait till monday to get my xbox. :(

Yeah, that guy is pretty cool. Friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. I work over by the airport, and that has turned into my favorite store because of him and one other regular. Did he override that promo for you? Awesome. If nothing else, you should actually take the survey on your receipt and give him high marks. Can't hurt. Good karma. :D

Ya one of the Stores in Gilbert/Chandler AZ is really cool (the one I happen to be sitting in front of lol), I'm always referring friends to go there even when they are out of the way, cause you get treated so well. They were totally cool with me sitting out front waiting for them to open (which I have an hour and a half left of waiting!)

Yep! already did :p

Had the receipt in front of me on my desk so i took a sec to do it while browsing the interwebs.

Just got mine. Sherwood Plaza Gamestop in Framingham, MA. I walked in with my trade-in 10 minutes after opening, I was their first slim buyer.

First off, the program was in the system, so no extra 25 bucks for me. They checked my trade-in pretty thoroughly, doing everything from checking the warranty sticker, to powering the system on, to recovering one of their profiles on it, to putting in a game (I think it was modern warfare) and going online. They put a pair of batteries into the controller to test that as well.

The whole process was about 45 minutes and I got a total of 278 in tradeins. The edge card was free after the base value trade-ins + edge bonus so I opted to get an edge card.

I'm at work now, but when I get home, I'll kick the new one around.

My local gamestop was allowing reservations. I just reserved. On my way out the UPS truck pulled in. Hopefully they got some in.

One of mine GS was reserving the other was not...I found that kind of odd.
Anyone been successful in trading in your unit and getting the bonus if the S is not in stock?
I don't mean to keep posting but: I called mine and they said they were taking $50 reservations. He made it sound like they would somehow do the deal today. I might be assuming that part however. Looks like a store choice.

If the truck was just pulling in why didn't you stay?

All the Gamestops near me have said they'll be taking reservations and doing the trade in deal with the S out of stock, but not until the first shipment is sold out.
If the truck was just pulling in why didn't you stay?
I did stay. Just picked up the system. Gamestop on Mckinney Ranch in Mckinney TX got 6, now 5. Check your receipts!!! I almost got shorted 15 bucks because the 25 off hardware promo kicked in instead of the correct trade in promo

Gotcha. Ya Im in AZ, Good to hear you got it. Their manager just showed up and had to go to the bank but he said after he gets back he will let me in since it's so hot out. They open up in about 45 mins. Thankfully Im first in line so I get the first one as soon as it's off the truck and scanned in.

I already traded in my system yesterday but they caught the extra $25. No biggy anyways since it's not technically supposed to hit. I'm a cheap ass but if I can't get in on a mistake in a pricing system I dont sweat it too much.

So if I go in with a Arcade Xbox system everything included, I get $100, plus another 20 GB Harddrive, add another $30? So I get 130 for the system with another harddrive?
Anyone have a problem trading in multiples, like 3 hard drives? Mine over the phone said ymmv.
My multiple drives had to be over-ridden by the manager, but he had no problem doing it.

I just got back with my new xbox 360 and my reciet has the wireless controller for 14.03 tradin,I thought it was 25.00 plus edge i'll be going back as soon as my girlfriend done doing her transfer so i can trade the 20gig for 30 more off they said i have 7 days to do so;)
Maybe a dumb question, but what do you have to turn in with the xbox console to receive the full $100?
Console, power brick, AV cables and controller (wired or wireless)

By the way, the promo wasn't working still as of this morning, so they had to do it manually, and when that happened it also added the $25 hardware bonus, so I got $125 for mine

Ok so I just learned the new 360 Slims do not come with an HDMI cable included. Pretty ticked about that. If I have the 360 component cables, can I trade those in instead of the HDMI cable that came with my current Elite? I'm certainly not giving them an HDMI cable, sorry GS.
Maybe a dumb question, but what do you have to turn in with the xbox console to receive the full $100?
One system (working)
One Official Controller (wired or wireless w/battery cover)
One Power brick + power cord
One A/V Adapter (3rd party YMMV)

Yes you can, all you need for a tradein is the standard A/V cables.

My local GS stores have not received these yet. This is SO my luck. I was off the majority of the week waiting for these things and they will probably arrive tomorrow, when I work a morning shift.

so i only got 100 for the system wire controller power brick av cables , i didn't get the extra 25,was i suppost to get 125.00?

My gamestop said that they would get them between 11-2 PM today. I called at 11:10 and he told me that all of the local gamestops were sold out. WTF
