Trade in two games from the list on this flyer, and get a new game from the list for $19.99 or $9.99

Gamestop is extending the Deal, posted by JohnLa101
Just a heads up, turns out they are extending this deal to 11/23, but with an updated list of eligible trades and the games you can get. Noteworthy mentions are Gears 2, LittleBigPlanet, Left 4 Dead, Mirrors Edge and COD: World at War. Sadly, decent trades like Tiger Woods 08 and Burnout Paradise are no longer eligible, but surprisingly Lego Star Wars is still on the list. I got the new flier today from a Gamestop, I have the images too and can post them if anybody could explain how I could do that here.
I just got back from picking up my LBP preorder and traded,

:ps3: GTA IV - $12.50 - $20.00 with deal
:360: Burnout Paradise - $8.00 - $20.00 with deal
:360: Cabela's Alaskan hunt 360 - $4.75 - No deal, not on list

And received Saints Row 2 for $19.99

I'll be going back tomorrow with a Halo 3 that I picked up for $9 and Tiger Woods 08 so I can pick up Midnight Club:LA for $19.99 also. :bouncy:

I think it is a rip off that they have WiiFit and balance board on the list. Who ever trades that in must be d-u-m!

(Side note: Yes I know it is misspelled moran.)

Cool, thanks JJSP -- I'll call them later today. Turns out I do have two things, MoH: Heroes 2 and Orange Box (360). Not tempted to trade OB yet, but thinking about trading it anyway for CoD:WaW.

Here is a list of "cheaper" games from Blockbuster/GameRush

(Name of Game - BBV price)
Lego Star Wars: TCS - $14.99
Super Mario Galaxy - $24.99
Rayman Raving Rabbits 2 - $19.99
Okami - $19.99
The Incredible Hulk $24.99
Ninja Gaiden 2 - $24.99
Skate - $14.99
Half Life 2: Orange Box - $19.99
Eternal Sonata - $24.99
Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath $14.99
Gran Turismo 5 - $19.99

I just noticed Rapala Fishing Tournament for Wii is on the trade list. The game from last year? That game sucked. I think I can buy that from a co-worker real cheap.

Scored it for $10.,

Well, I am going to pick up a game today...finally have two games to trade in.

Now, what do I want:
- Call of Duty 5
- Gears 2
- Little Big Planet
- Left 4 Dead

I didn't play the L4D demo yet, so I may wait on that. I'm leaning towards CoD5 since I love FPS.

I went to do this today and the system wouldn't automatically adjust the values on my two games when the clerk tried to do it with my pre-existing pre-order for Mirror's Edge. Seemed to work fine if he just flat-out rang up a copy of Mirror's Edge alongside the trade-in. I suppose he'd rather not cancel my pre-order though, because he just manually adjusted the values to $20 instead. Worked out in my favor, because then my Edge card added 10% to each $20 value. $4 in my favor; yay.
I was wondering if anyone tried to trade the games with cellfire trade % + edgecard?? and apply it to the game?
Probably not since there is no value associated with the trade ins. Just a straight 2 games in get one game out.

Hoping to have enough games after one more visit to a blockbuster for 3 games.

Well, technically, it adjusts the trade in value of each game to $20. However, I'm 99% sure that both promos would not combine.

No need to try. The ONLY GS promo that stacks with another automatically in the system is the EDGE bonus.

You may find employees who are willing to stack these things together, but they end up doing it manually.

I just grabbed Bully for Wii at Blockbuster for 8$ after some tradeins (regular 19.99). However, I just noticed the Wii cover does not have a bar code in it. Will GS still take this? (Manual is there though and poster.)

*Never mind, I'm blind. Bar code for bully is very thin and hiding under Blockbuster sticker.

Just got back from a BB/GR and had picked up the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man (both 360) for 14.99 a piece. They may have been marked wrong, because I noticed when he was ringing it up they were at 24.99 and then a -10.00 was after it. I am going to hit up another one and try to find two more games to hopefully pick up Gears 2 and CoD: WaW tonight. I will post again about 10 or so with my findings.

If you're doing this deal I don't see as how it would be worth all the trouble in the long run. If you're paying more than $15 for each of the two trade-in games then you're only saving $10 (2x $15 for the used titles + $19.99 price for new game = $50+ tax). Unless I can find two of the titles on that list for under $10 each it's just not worth the hassle (in my opinion).

So I just traded Okami and Paper Mario for Fallout 3. I also tried to trade an unopened Lego Indy/Kung Fu Panda from my girlfriend's Elite bundle, but they wouldn't take it and said they'd only count it as one anyway. Guess I'll have to open it myself and split it out into separate cases or something. Not like I don't have 10 Gamestops around here at which I can try for different results anyway.

Yeah I agree. Unless your using credit. For example, if you bought a game at 15.00 at Target and traded it into BBV for 30 and then bought 2 15.00 games. You would be paying 15 +20= 35 dollars for a new game.

How do people lose the case and manual for a game?

I won't buy used games from eb/gs because the case and manual aren't guaranteed.

I generally only buy used in-store for this exact reason. You can always return a gs.com purchase in-store if you feel like takin' your chances.

Alright, so has I stated earlier, the Iron Man and Hulk deal I got was just luck. It turned out that it was mis-priced at the first BB/GR I went to. I still went a head and traded those in and picked up CoD:WaW though.

As for the deal itself, I was really skeptical myself, but then I figured out how to make it work out just as someone above said. I went to Target and got MLB 08 the Show (x2) for 14.98 and then traded those in for $30 credit a piece at BB/GR. The found 4 14.99 games there and brought those to GS and got Gears 2 and CoD:WaW.

Sorry to be a bother, but does anyone know if this deal is valid at every GS/EB location? From the posted images, I can't find one of those codes for the employee to enter at the register - do I need to print out the flyer?

Thank you in advance!

do you guys think its worth it to trade

call of duty 4
halo 3
gta4
orangebox

for

gears of war 2 or dead space

i want the dlc for gta 4 but im tired of wating dont play the rest anymore

It's a nationwide promo and the register handles it automatically if two eligible games are traded in and an eligible game for purchase is rung up (once they total it up).

As I noted previously, the computer did not automatically do it when I tried to do this with an existing pre-order. In that case, the clerk would either need to cancel your pre-order and just ring up the game, or manually adjust the trade-in values to $20 each for the two games you trade it toward your pre-ordered game.

Personally, I wouldn't even consider this. You have 4 of the best games of the 360. I really don't see where any of those 4 are going to lose communities any time soon (CoD4 will be determined within the next month or two). Seriously just go find two 14.98 games that flip for $30 at Target and go about it that way.

... As for the deal, I just thought of why I don't like it (despite doing it twice last night). At some point I kind of forgot about the part that I could just trade in two MLB 08s that I spent a total of 31.xx on and get a game from Blockbuster/GameRush (instead of flipping back to GS and paying an additional 20 per game.

It's good for people that have credit at Blockbuster as most people are doing. Although, my Blockbuster is generally cleared out of the $14.99 eligible games. I still want Gears 2 and LBP and possibly L4D.

Do Halo 3 and Orange Box for Gears 2 at least.

The Gears community is gonna dominate XBL for a long time.

I don't think anyone is sure if the majority of the COD4 community is willing to go back to WW2 as wel(I'm not personally)

Orange Box is $30 retail now, so I'm sure you'd be able to get it for under $20 used if you miss TF2 of Portal a lot.

This was not the case for me. I had $5 down on Mirror's Edge and the computer recognized the promotion and put them at $20 simultaneously when the employee totaled it. I laughed when I saw the LSW:CSaga TIV change from $4 to $20.

traded gow1 and lego starwars for mirror's edge... gamestop guy tried to jack me though... said I had to pay $31! hilarious... fail gamestop-guy.

Success! Got GH:WT and COD:WAW for $20 each.

Trade- in Values, all XB360:

Battlefield BC - $10
GTA IV - $12.50
Orange Box - $8.75
Civ Rev - $17

Hey has anyone here traded in a Platinum Hits Lego Star Wars Complete Saga and accepted with another title to get the $20 promotion? (I'm just wondering if they don't accept it as Platinum Hits version)

I was thinking of trading in my Kung Fu Panda/ Lego Indy bundle in for Gears of War 2. Do I need to put them in separate cases or can I just trade the discs in without a case?

Did this tonight with Lego Star Wars and Socom ... terrible from the standpoint that I originally paid around $30 or so for both ... but excellent from the standpoint that Lego trades for $4 outside the deal and Socom is down to $16 (not to mention, definitely wasn't feeling that game online compared to COD4, which actually has a single player story as well ... imagine).
Stupid Question:

Do that charge taxes on $19.99 or the full $60?
I've only been charged taxes on the remaining cost, after trade in value is subtracted.

I have done this deal a few times and am always charged tax on the $59.99. I guess it depends on your state laws.

And this was confirmed that you can NOT trade 2 of the same games, correct?

2 LSW:TCS with the cellfire + edge is on $24.60 and a great deal, but would they take two of the same game?

May be YMMV. I was shot down by an associate for trying to trade in 2 copies of Lost Planet for PS3 3 days ago. Gamestop may be a little more ridgid in inforcing only 1 copy of any game on a trade in, but i've heard some people have had luck.....

If you choose to try, best of luck.

Appreciate the warning. I think I have a copy of some other Wii game, House of the Dead maybe? I'll trade that in and pick up a copy of LSW. Now to make sure if my GS actually does this...

Cooking Mama + HOTD 2/3 + $20 for LBP? DEAL! Now to see what games I actually have to consider not trading in to get a second game in this deal...

I already traded in my duplicate copies of LSW:CS for ME on its release date. The deal itself has no stipulations concerning it. I only had trouble at the store I pre ordered ME from because the manager felt like doing everything by the book. I drove to another store where they happened to have extra messengers bags and took the games in no questions asked.

Totally YMMV but if you have a bunch of stores and it isn't a pain in the ass to get there it's worth it.

Yea it worked fine for me. They weren't really happy about it but since both games are on the list there isn't much they could do. I originally brought them in seperately but they asked if i had the original case for the two pack (which I did) so they could cut it apart and use the Lego Indy/Kung Fu Panda backings for new cases.

Just confirmed that my GS does NOT take 2 of the same games for trade-in. HotD and LSW it is...

Also found out one of my GS's doesn't even offer this promotion, so I guess the YMMV catch is true.

Does anyone have these images hosted on a site that isn't the two listed on the OP? Can't seem to get to them.
