I have a coupon that is about to expire. Hopefully the value holds tomorrow at BB. Thanks!
same here. but man, i do hope bby start applying double points for trade-in again.

also, looks as if bby have also stop giving spending credits toward elites for trade-ins... gonna miss being a elite member and probably will never achieve such prestigious status again should bby make this a permanent thing.

Main account got banned, probably from the last day of cash trades. Back up is still all good tho :)

Also forgot to mention that I actually got my refund from GameStop from a while ago. But for some reason they gave me an extra $20 I won't complain

Anyone have any experience with used consoles from Gamestop? What's the difference between pre-owned and Gamestop Premium Refurbished?
Used is a trade-in that is boxed up and sold in the same store.

A Refurb was a broken system or one with cosmetic damage that was sent to the WH be fixed, the customer was charged a refurb fee.

So when I trade in a console at GS and they test it to see if it powers on, that is the only test they do? Every console that I have traded in looks in mint condition, but it makes humming and buzzing sounds. I thought they sent every console that is traded in, to a warehouse to get wiped and tested for defects.

Not every console. If it is in good working condition we clean it, wipe the hard drive, and throw it in the mountain of consoles we have in the back.

EDIT: If they just check to see if it powers on they are more than likely either:

1. Going to put a refurbishment fee on it and send it to the warehouse

2. Are lazy and throw it in the back. That's why people get consoles that don't work

Reserve that extra $20 for the next 4 for $10 sale.

Question for anyone with a store that takes retro stuff. What is the GBA SP system name filed under? I called one store last night and asked what a GBA SP sold for, and he said $18 credit or $14.40 cash after looking for it in the system for like two minutes when he could only find the regular GBA at first. Today I went to three stores to try and sell it, but none of them could find GBA SP in the system, just the regular GBA, which was $15 credit or $12 cash.

Still, that's like $13 back for a $400 item.

A 3x bonus points coupon at Best Buy is $24, if they run that promo at any time.

20% bonus trade in is pretty nice. I can save $113 if I use trade credit + 20% bonus compared to buying it at Best Buy.

Are there any good BB -> GS movers?

Seems that rumor of Gamestop taking in Sega Saturn, Gamecube and GBA stuff might be true, if GBA stuff is already in the system.

It's possible that GS only created one SKU for GBA handheld or it is put under something else(but why would 3 other stores not find it?). It's also possible that the price dropped and that's the reason for the lower quote.

The stores that take retro stuff do take GBA and GC stuff, idk about Saturn though.

And there are most definitely multiple SKUs. The guy in the store I called said he could only find the $15 credit/$12 cash GBA, but after putting me on hold and looking for a couple minutes, he found the GBA SP which he quoted me $18 credit/$14.40 cash.

Anyone know if a rewards certificate would stack with a b2g1 coupon?
They do but only if you know what you are doing. Gamestop dollar off coupons are applied first, then a B2G1 coupon. Say you have 3 used games that are $30 each. After the $10 coupon, these three games are now $30, $30, $20. After B2G1 coupon, the $20 game becomes free and you pay $60, essentially wasting your $10 Gamestop coupon.

If, on the other hand, you have three games that are $40, $30, $30. After the $10 coupon, these games are now $30, $30 $30 and after the B2G1 coupon, it totals out to $60. You get the full value of the $10.

Guess my coupon would go to waste then if all 3 games were of the same value before coupon?

This is an excellent explanation for those that don't know how this works. This should be Wiki'd.

Correct.

not sure if anyone was aware or if it was posted, but apparently theres a promo for 25% off IGFs (interactive gaming figures) does stack with Pro membership, i tested a few of the 15$ skylanders and they bumped down to around 10$.

tried with a couple of amiibo as well, worked there too.

not sure if this is up anyones alley, could help to fill out those couple of figures you wanted for yourself or (children) relatives or whatever.

Of note, if it works the same as the last time they ran this scam, it's only 3x points on the donations themselves, not any other items on the transaction.
It's kinda sad. I miss when it was tripling the entire transaction. 15k transactions were so easy.

Sucks that gamestops website doesn't show trade in values for retro games. I have a few N64 games I want to trade in.

Just got back from picking up Left 4 Dead 2, Read Dead Redemption GOTY, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge for $24 and some change.  The store owed me $10 and I used $20 in pre-owned certs.  I didn't necessarily want to use the certs for this, but there is nothing else I'd want pre-owned there, and it made the deal sweet for me

Speaking of points, do you know if you get them for buying gift cards? I want to buy an eBay gift card with a Gamestop gift card from the recent deal.
