WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Systems will trickle in as Nintendo ships them.

What had happened was... they're holding it for themselves.

Ohhh but you can purchase a $509 or $600 bundle for shipping a month from now... yeah sure I might.
 
Once again every store in a 20 mile radius of me is down inventory and pick up wise. I know you had the same problem Blackbeard when they were adding switch titles. I might be paranoid but it happened a third time this week when I got my B2G1 coupons. Coincidence possibly or they put it together again.

In the coupon section of Power Up Rewards for 11250 points you can purchase a coupon that gives you a free strategy guide up to $20. If the guide is over $20, it takes $20 off the price.

Also buying the guide with the game should get you 10 percent off the guide. That stacks with the guide coupon.
I picked up BOTW collectors guide for $15.99 .

the card will be reported to all credit bureaus. since you're building up credit i suggest keeping the utilization low. it does have a high APR but gamestop does offer deals with no APR for 6 months etc. The card is financed thru comenity bank so they tend to be good at raising your limit. good for utilization purpose. while i agree having a top credit card,( amex, discover, visa) helps more, not everyone will get approved for one of those when rebuilding. so this is the next best thing. good luck!

 
Thanks for the sheet updates blackbeard. I called 2 gamestops about Switch gray console in Lyndhurst NJ and Spring Valley NY. Both stores said they were set aside as replacement units for customers with broken/malfunctioning Nintendo switches. Good luck to those still on the hunt!

I would believe this since other retro games don't trigger the switch bonus and they have it under "NES" on the site.

I think anything under the generic "retro" system category does but specific retro systems like NES, Sega Saturn, n64 don't.
 
Might make a trip into GS today to trade some stuff. Got my copy of Skylanders Imaginators for 360 to flip, and I might trade in a few Wii U games (Pokken, Twilight Princess, Splatoon) since I barely touch them. Might have to stagger trading them in though, so I can use that $5 bonus card a few times.

Also, if joycons trade for a base $22, I may just trade my solo left red joycon and do a web instore order for a dual set of red ones. I want my console to be symmetrical.

I've still got a B2G1 free coupon from renewing, too. If they have 1-2 Switch and any other used Switch game, I might trade my copy of BotW and buy it back with the B2G1.

 
Anyone know if you trade a game in how quickly it'll come back out? My store has horizon, I wouldn't mind trading Zelda in and rebuying with my b2g1 used for a cheap horizon and second game.

I've traded in an amiibo then bought it right back w/ a back to back transaction. I'd only do it if the people at your store are cool, though.

 
According to the other posts, you only get 40% if you trade a Switch game towards a Switch game.

Depends on the area you live in has the pawn shop law. If they do once a game is traded in it has to sit for 7 days. If they don't have that law, then it all depends on how busy they are to put the game in a sleeve and put out the case.
 
Since Switch is region free, what are the odds that GS will accept a Japanese edition of Zelda BotW?  I haven't opened it but I assume the disc also has Japanese on it like the case.
