The trade-ban is ID based. Someone else can trade under your account with their ID but you're still banned even if you open a second account.

I don't understand Gamestop's trade ban system at all. I live in MN and was trade banned for a reason that I still cant figure out. I haven't traded more than 2 copies of a game in a rolling 30 days and trade less than $300/ month. I called and they told me they would investigate it and get back to me in 2-5 business days. I didnt hear back from customer service for a month and I finally called them back. I talk to someone who looks everything up and they tell me the investigation warranted no lift to my ban. I told them I would like to know what criteria I met in order to be banned and they werent able to provide me with any information at all. The customer Service rep decided that because this was a great inconvenience to me that she would add 20,000 points to my PUR account. What will 20,000 points do for me if I am unable to do any future trades for 90 days. Needless to say Gamestop requires an ID with every trade I do but they had no issues with me creating a new PUR account. Will I get banned once all my info is finalized? I guess the initial account was in my girlfriends name but they never disputed my name when they asked for my ID with past trades.

That was a simpler time, when folks had good hearts. Now people are degenerates who trade games in without the case, scratched, etc. and the world is in shambles largely due to that.

It's a vicious cycle. Me being pissed at them selling games without cases for the same price has made me intentionally trade without case, especially at stores/with employees that are smug asshole junior detectives.

Once in a while theyll try to BS a refurbished fee, I'll simply try later elsewhere. (They do so on brand new games I opened minutes ago in my car too.)

GS are poorly run and have policies that don't treat all customers at all locations equal. I know the car industry works that way, a stroke of luck the dealers mood the empty threat to go elsewhere and how rich your clothes look can all effect the price of your lease. A game store taking in your trades shouldn't work that way.

They could have kept the policy to not take without cases or put a big reduction on the TC given to the trader.

And in other news, the PS camera is now bundled with the entry level PSVR. First major deal on this yet? Can't tell if the format flopped yet. Will it be HDDVD and Kinect or will it be a success... You can probably find the controllers at a Goodwill.

Yeah, GS is poorly run, and it's not unfair to compare them to car dealerships, but all of us here has collectively fleeced them of literally tens of thousands of dollars. The same apathy they have for original cases and manuals allow us to sell their own products to them for more than we paid them for.

from my trade/return attempt, i cant do a trade or return in neighbor county but I still can trade or return on my own county. Im not sure if they're just bsing me but its been going on for a year now. They said something about from monitor that stopping them to complete the transaction and I have to call the 1-800 to grt it remove or resolve. Plus on this gamestop I barely traded anything but did a couple console returned and some games.

Just went to use some of my trade credit from last week to buy more Burger King and Xbox gift cards and noticed that my weekend trade/purchase points never posted like others posted. Perhaps the way we earn the points has changed and they just haven't told us yet.

In other news, I found a copy of Cabela's for Xbox One at Target hidden under a pile of children's books in the clearance section for $11.98 and wished I had seen it last weekend. Although there isn't a bump this week, I'm still considering trading it towards Stardew Valley to get the 50% extra. Anyone think I should wait until the next bump or is this as good as it gets?

I could use some of my credit to balance out the rest, ask for a factory sealed copy and return it, or I could play it since it's one I've been wanting to play. I think it's safe to assume that anyone would need ID in any Gamestop in the world to create a new account.

Once the account is created, the local pawn laws take effect when trading.

I got this game for my kids this weekend for $15 from Bestbuy. Used Reward Certs so it was an easy purchase. Haven't played it as yet though.

I wonder, since I moved to Palm Beach and the Gamestops over here don't ask for ID when trading means that I can make another account like you describe?

In Broward County, think Fort Lauderdale, you need an ID to sign up and for trades.

I'll have to see about this very soon.

Try to use the code on the page 1 of this thread FAQ, or ask an employee straight up if they'd give you one of those $5 bonus cards for trading, that you really want Stardew and it's the only way you can afford it. To make the sale, they'd likely do it. Then you'd get $25.50 for Cabela's.

I would double check some of the values on eBay before you trade them in. For instance they give $30 base for Suikoden 2 but you can easily get $100 for it online. Don't get low-balled too badly

Meh. It was tempting to trade towards Pro with the new Slim that I bought but I paid $220 for the Slim Uncharted Bundle. I used credit that I moved from gamestop to amazon to pay for it. I made a profit moving that credit but I'll just keep it. I already put a 2TB hard drive in it.

So when signing up for a new account they're not plugging in ur DL or Passport # then I'm assuming in some box that may ask that? I think they might just ask u for ur ID if ur signing up immediately for PRO and opt for the physical magazine and they need a physical address to send that to... maybe?

And do u use the same address on all the accounts except for phone+email?

Would be weird if GS employees can look up addresses to see who all at a specific address has an acct? Unless they can already do that haha.

Ya that's what I'm planning to do, get the basic card coz less info required hopefully at that time of creation, idk if I'll even bother making it pro in the future coz it's just gonna be my buying acct, that 10% off preowned is so measly, don't think I'll be planning on doing much trading if any on it.
