The source? My Dad. LOL

EDIT: Just found out where he got the code from, it's from http://www.retailmenot.com/view/gameznflix.com

If you don't know, Gameznflix (http://www.gameznflix.com/default.aspx?kbid=1447) is a site like Netflix and Gamefly, just together. You can rent movies and games. The only thing is their selection is limited and they DON'T have any DS games.. GRRR!!

But, when you click on sign up, go to I HAVE A COUPON and type in emmys.

Now look at the prices!

1 Out at a Time / $6.75 each month
2 Out at a Time / $9.75 each month
3 Out at a Time / $12.75 each month

3 out a time for $12.75 a month?! Holla!

I may do two at a time.. I haven't signed up YET I'm just sharing this info for anything.

I don't know if it's going to be YOUR price..as in if you stay with this company for a year.. will it STILL be $12.75? (or whatever you choose)

And a personal question. I live at home. If my dad uses this for him/mom/brother..can I have my own account..? We have the same name too LOL (with the exception of Jr in it)

I don't post deals often, but I hope this is useful to at LEAST someone!

Enjoy!

EDITED to change link to CAG referral link.
Yeah, that's not as big of a selling point for me. My closest Blockbuster is about 12 minutes away, in a direction I don't go too often. Plus, those exchanges are only good on movies right? If you could exchange for games, it might be worth the extra gas.

I really don't want to compromise my mix of 3 out at a time, and being able to have 2 movies/1 game, or 1 movie/2 games. I usually only play one game at a time anyway, but I like to be able to try one out that I might be interested in buying, without having to send back the one I'm currently playing.
You can return them instantly to a store and send the other, which I like. But I think your limited on the number of instore exchanges, like 2 a month, and I think 1 game. I would do the BB one if it include games asap, heck, any other service if it included games. shit 5 days to receive them, and still cant ship one out (out of a list of 40 old/new games and movies, many with full availablilty) the same day. I guess at the end of month 1 I will make an assesment on if its worth it, if I get at least 3 games and 7 movies Id say its worth it, slow ass shipping slaugthers it.

GnF's shipping used to be crazy fast. I'd drop a game in the mail early in the morning, and sometimes they'd have it as returned by that night (of course this meant the post office was scanning the games). Even if they didn't though, it would take a MAX of 2 days, and my next item would be shipped on the 3rd day, and I'd receive it 2 days later. That's a 5 day turnaround.

Now, however, they've gotten painfully slow. But honestly, I haven't found anyone else (aside from Netflix probably) who's any better. Gamefly is terribly slow, Blockbuster is slow. My turnaround for both of these services was at least a week. I probably would just stick with GnF if they could at least maintain the stellar speed.

I am kind of suprised to hear about how people are having such terribly slow turn around times. The only thing I can think of is that if you live in a bigger city than you end up getting it faster. My turnarounds are usually only 3 days and I have had a couple that were 2 days.

Without going through 58 pages of this thread, can someone tell me if this deal is worth it? I've never used "gameznflix" and will probably only sign up for a month or two to get by the summer. Will mostly rent 360 games/some movies (not necessairly new stuff) -- is it worth it?

So far my month has been great. If you do the trial there is quite a lot that you can't rent. But so far there has been great turnaround service and shipping is fast.

Yeah, I included the trial in my membership (so, I'm paying $13 for a month and a half) -- I just tried renting F.E.A.R, Prey, and the Godfather and they were all unavailable for me and told me to upgrade :|

What CAN I rent on the trial? Should I just upgrade now...

I can't believe the coupon still worked, but I am in- thank you very much! It's frustrating how many titles won't let trial customers rent, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. The layout of the website is laughable as well- there's tons of stuff in there but you'd think they only had 60 games at a time for each system going from the front page. Still, the price is right.
How many lost games until they ban your account?
Sounds like you're planning on stealing some games. I wouldn't advise it. Trust me when I say it will catch up with you.

It's worth it for a few months because new members get their queues shipped out crazy fast (I signed up when Crackdown first came out and got it immediately while other CAGs were waiting for availability). But after a few months, you're no longer new and you'll be waiting a long time for even older games that show up as totally available.

I think it's about time I left GamezNFlix, which is a shame because it was such a good deal for $10/month (2 at a time with the coupon) when I actually got games on my queue.

If you're indeed planning on a short stay, then I suggest jumping on this deal right away.

You're not limited at all on how many times you exchange movies at Blockbuster. Every week I receive two movies by mail and exchange them in the store for two more.

You get one coupon a month that you can exchange for a free game rental. You can also exchange any movie you get by mail and pay $4.99 for a game rental.

The thing about the game rental is that if you don't return it within two weeks, they'll charge your credit card the used selling price for it. If you return it within 30 days of that sale date, they refund you all of it except a $1.25 're-stocking' fee.

I'm on GnF now, but I plan on cancelling it soon. I only rent about one game a month and I can deal with Blockbuster charging me a $1.25 for an, essentially, 44 day rental.

Just thought some might want to know, I got 30 days free from gameznflix. I had previously sent them emails regarding their terrible service, but when I sent them this email, they finally did something about it, give me a month free.
This is the email I sent them if you guys wanna know:

Wow, this service is absolutely horrible. Ship me some games! The only games that are possible to rent with this terrible service are either old games or terrible games. It's seriously a joke. Now for my reply, I don't want some automated answer which just explains to me that I have to wait longer, because I UNDERSTAND the concept of waiting. What I want, IS FOR MY GAMES TO BE SHIPPED.

Service is worth a try, i have had them for about 1 year now and i usually rent games(360 games) that have been out 2 0r 3 mos. which has worked well for me. Also get an occasional HDDVD, not too many to choose from yet. Although on my latest rental I had 30 titles in my queue and it went to #29 Far Cry Instincts, WTF I have lamo fuzion frenzy above it along with some other bad games and it still dropped to this release title!

Got Stomp The Yard (dvd) in today and it's a ******* Blueray disc..... Thankfulyl I m borrowing a friends ps3 rightnow to update it for her so I can watch it but damn.... They really need to pay attention.

Well, I finally bit.. the coupon code still worked for me. NOTHING worked on the trial, so I just upgraded. Their Blu-Ray selection is smaller than I thought it'd be. NCAA 08 360, Virtua Fighter 5, and Casino Royale are the 3 I picked... since there's a distribution center about 300 miles away, I'm hoping for fast shipping (although the reviews are very mixed in the thread).

So far these guys are dud's. I'm really close to cancelling them, their queue management system sucks, what happens that I really did not expect is they basically cherry pick from the list of titles in your queue and send whatever they have in stock irrelevant of where it is in queue. It is also taking over a week to turn around a game, and even though they show that they have received a game, it's days before they actually ship your next item. Blockbuster is soooo much better.

Does Blockbuster Online rent games now?
The only reason I'm with GnF is for 10.00 bucks a month I can watch one or two movies and keep a couple games till I beat them (or until I realize I'm glad I didn't buy it.) And because it's 10.00 (two out.) For me, their lowered service quality (which it definitely is) is worth saving 50% over the competitors.

I'm done at the end of the month, these guy's have dropped the ball. Really poor coverage of XBOX 360 games since mid-May. No Shadowrun, no DIRT and everything released since mid-June is on order. I have had it, looks like I'm going back to buying games. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS SERVICE.

Or sign up for gamefly and get $10 brightspot.tv which works out to $12 a month for 2 games out at a time if you watch $10 worth of commercials.

Im done after this month as well. Service was great for 4 months, but now they wont ship anything. Still, it was good while it lasted!

gamefly is becoming just as bad as this service just to let those thinking about swtiching over unless ur out to rent old games you might wanna go to blockbuster for a gamepass.

I've had 4 games in my queue for the past couple months while holding onto GRAW2, and none of them have shipped. I'm just gonna get whatever I can out of GRAW2 and cancel, I'm done with this service, and online services. I am better off going local at this rate.

I had great success before, but now it just went to shit. No use giving them free money.

Unless this site has cleaned their act up "a lot" (gameznflix), I wouldn't give them $5 a month for any damn thing they may actually have in stock, as I'm sure many of you have found out everydamnthing is on order all the damn time - that or it just doesn't ship. It was a crying shame that I would get so excited when something higher on my q actually shipped; that should be the norm, not the almost nonexistant exception. I dumped them in march of this year, turnaround time was atrocious (well over a week most of the time), their movie selection blew (especially HDDVD - even emailed their tech support since the search result didn't work right with HDDVD, gave back 0 returns regardless of title - after 2 months it still wasn't fixed). Just talking about this jackhole business angers up my blood.

Truth of the matter is their business grew (a lot) and their abilities to service the additional customers has not - if you want to be successful, you have to be able to actually serve the customers you want, otherwise you'll end up losing them all. Damn I hated using this service... :bomb:

Only 1 item has shipepd. I have 10 more items in my queue (many on order) and I contacted them about stuff not shipping. Was informed it coudl take up to 14 for a short wait item to ship to me and up to 30 days for a long wait item.... What BS. Seriosuly, how many people want Madden 06?

I stuck with these guys for about 6 months and had pretty decent service. Then I got a Wii, sent back all my games, and loaded up Wii games into my queue. Then I waited for two weeks with nothing sent out, so I just went ahead and canceled instead of paying for another month. It's a good deal, but if the service stinks then what's the point?

Aaron

Finally called it quits after about 9 months. The last straw was having 12 items (older DVD, Wii and 360 games) in my queue for 4 days without something shipping. Seems like the average lifespan of a customer is 6 months. After that, they just put you in the queue to die.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm still quite pleased with the service, I don't always get the first titles in my queue (though I do often), but I keep lots of games and movies I'm actually interested in, so whatever I get, I'll be entertained. I've never been much of a renter, so this has really fit the bill for me nicely.

I haven't had a title ship in about a week or so now with about 8 highly available options, so I think I'm gonna cancel too. It was alright while it lasted. Decent shipping when titles were coming and no problem with a lost item that was accounted for but then showed up later anyway. However it just seems like a sinking ship and their selection and speed for new titles isn't great, not to mention it's not the greatest site.

Man, these guys have atrocious customer service. I haven't even been a member for a month, and I've only gotten one out of my three per month. Everything else is queued. I also find their "14 free trial" to be a bit deceiving.. I couldn't find a single thing that qualified for the trial. However.. if it's a 14 day trial, and the below response that I received from customer service is correct, then how is it a trial if you never get to receive the product?

Question:
I just joined your service to use the 14 day trial. However, upon joining the service, I discovered that I could not rent a single game under the trial membership, so I decided to upgrade in order to be able to do so.

Since joining, I have requested one movie and 2 games (my membership is the 3 out at a time plan). A movie has shipped, but the games show fully available.. yet none of them have shipped? Why have the games not yet been shipped if they are available (advertised in the "ready to ship" section)?

Being a former customer of Blockbuster Online, in stock items usually were shipped within 24 hours of being placed into the queue. Being a brand new member of your service, nearly a week has passed and only one out of three items have been shipped since being placed in my queue.

Please email me as to the average turnaround time of shipment for game and movie rentals. If I am to be forced to join a program that I had intended to try risk-free for 14 days, I would expect a little faster processing of an order when it is advertised as available. If I am to join a service in which it will take a great length of time just to process a request, I would rather have my membership prorated and try a different service.

Thanks for your time,

Mike

Solution:

Mike,

Thank you for your e-mail. Our availability is a general benchmark of expectation. In looking at your queue I noticed the items in your queue are on a short wait. Short Wait: Our demand is more than copies we have on hand, but we should be able to get it to you within 14 days. As soon as your items are available they will be shipped out. Thank you for your time and being a member with us.

thanks

Knowing the service sucks.... you really shouldnt expect the bars to be accurate. For the best results, just throw a bunch of games and movies, and be surprised. The first thing I did was make a queue of everything I wanted, then just arrange the list (which doesnt seem like they really follow tho)

Where they really suck: Ive gotten 7 movies in a row. And its not that i keep selecting movies, I have a list of 40 mixed games and movies (majority games). At the time of the last 3 shipping, 6/10 top 10 in my queue are games, all with 90% bar.

I would say that we should all send emails threatening to contact the BBB, but seeing as they aren't a member and we wouldn't be the first ones, it wouldn't help. Just looked them up and man do they ever suck at life.
That's exactly the same email (word for word) I received 2 months ago when i ask why items weren't shipping though my Queue was full of older crap titles.
I also recieved that email. The EXACT same one. LoL...

I got that same email a few weeks ago. I'm testing out gamefly right now since they actually carry games I havent played while gameznflix has 6 games I havent played on my 360 and they refuse to ship them. Instead they ship me Wii titles no one wants and for the past 2 weeks I've had 2 unfilled slots.

Goddamnit, gamefly is getting worse and worse. They sent me a game yesterday from the bottom of my queue, even though I had a number of games above it that were available. The top selection had high availability. It's really sad that gamefly is considered the best of these rental services. They REALLY need some competition.

I guess from reading this thread I have been pretty lucky. The turnaround is pretty quick and I'm getting my 360 games that I want.

When all those AAA games release for 360 this fall/winter, I'm gonna have to switch back to gamefly or else I'll never get to play. I mean, if I can't rent Gun now, how am I going to be able to rent assassin's creed, BIA, etc.

So, without reading this whole thread, people seem to be pretty upset with the service?

I was thinking about signing up for the decent price, but the Blu-Ray selection seemed pretty weak. Anyone use this for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray? How is the selection? Ps3 games? Do they have good availability on agmes like NCAA 08 and All Pro 2K8 (new releaseS)?

I think it all depends on your mindset. It is damn cheap and you get service and availability that match. You will not get new games quickly. Older games are hit and miss. It took me 4 months to get WarioWare even though it said it was a short wait. I never got R6V in 6 months in my queue. Oh, and site navigation and searching are slow crap compared to other services. Sorry, can't speak for the HD-DVD or Blue-Ray.

My advice is try it out for a few months knowing that in 6 months you will not get anything shipped to you. It seems that new customers get pretty good priority in the queue as I got most of my requests quickly in the first few months. For the price, it is a great deal when it works. Just don't count on any new releases and be prepared to cancel after 6 months or so.

If your expectations match the price of GNF, you'll be fine. It is ridiculously cheap, and the customer service reflects that.

Time and again my top queue items have been passed over for older titles. No surprise there. I could delete all the older items and keep only the top items and see what happens, but seriously -- while I want to play The Darkness now, I really don't mind giving Battlestations: Midway a spin.

Eventually, I'll get The Darkness. Eventually.

My advice is to join a place like GNF to get your taste of older titles you missed when they came out. Don't expect hot-off-the-press games; but for extremely rare circumstances beyond your control, you won't get them. I say that "extremely rare circumstances" because I did get GRAW2, GoW2 and FFXII very soon after release -- but since then, nothing brand new has been quickly shipped. Then again, I didn't have much in my queue at the time ...

I just wanted to add my experience to this thread. I joined gamezflix the winter 2006, and I have had it up until recently (dropped them this month). I only rented 360 games from it.

The first few months I signed up for it I had very good results. If I dumped my queue before a new release street date I would get the new release the first day it was available. In addition, I did get the majority of the first games in my queue. The turn around time was slow, but I got used to it.

However, the last two months the service has completely changed. I had 6+ items in my queue for over two weeks and I never got one of the items. Gamezflix listed all the items in my queue as available, so I was surprised I never got any of them. Plus, it appears that gamezflix does not care how quickly they add new releases to there service. It took a month+ for one game I was looking at to be added (and it was not an unpopular game).

Lastly, they have virtually no customer service, so be warned if you try to contact them. In the end you get what you pay for with their service I think. It is cheap; however, don’t expect the best service in the world.
Do they have good availability on agmes like NCAA 08 and All Pro 2K8 (new releaseS)?
my stupid self went back to them hoping they would have one of those games available already since they got The Darkness which came out recently. I thought from that, that they had improved but they still the same:cry:. NCAA & All-Pro will probably be 'On-Order' forever.....

man has the service sucked lately.. i cant believe i came back to them....

i swear almost all the games are on order or not available. and the games that are in my queue never ship...

this is fucking horrible. ive even started adding movies to my queue just so i can get somewhat of a value out of this

The "on order" thing is really what was making me mad. Transformers for the 360 and project Sylpheed were still not available. I mean, transformers has been out for a month and Sylpheed since the 11th.
