Wow. Surprise, surprise that CAG is outraged at the potential price of the Micro.
This is going for the iPod Mini crowd and will most likely do great. Most 12 year old's aren't going to have to worry about finding $80-$100 because it'll be a holiday present. I'm sure plenty of college students will go for one because it really is made for them: cellphone in one pocket, Micro in another. I'm sure it may be harder to play (though I tried it at E3 and had no problems reading text on it... and it was, as far as I could tell, more comfortable than the SP with medium-sized hands), but notice how crazy people go over the iPod Mini and small cellphones. Both have smaller screens and smaller keypads but are plenty usable and are hot sellers.
It's a luxury item for the "image-conscious consumer," plain and simple. That doesn't include hardcore gamers on this site that care about the games only. For people who were hoping for a PSP killer, perhaps Nintendo realized that they didn't need to show it yet because the PSP hasn't set the world on fire outside of hardcore gamers. In that case, it's better for Nintendo to wait and see whether or not they should go disc-based, how big of a system, etc. Quit being so offended and realize that Nintendo's going to sell a ton of these to whomever they're targeting.
Besides, my bet is SP down to $60, Micro at $80, and DS at $130. As far as I know, the original GBA has been all but discontinued.
