Checked my mail today not email and noticed I received a letter from gamers club unlocked and saw they were extending my current membership for an additional 2 years for $30.if posted in wrong thread I apologize

Paying these rape artists to sell you crap with the awful service they have and the stuff they pull is pretty amazing to me. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled off was making you believe he does not exist.

Who the hell pays to get a discount?

I just wait and the games get cheaper and by the time that happens the discount you get on them is just a dollar or two which isn't enough to make it a big deal. So yeah you get a discount on a 60 dollar game but I end up paying 30 or less simply by waiting a couple months and I don't have to pay for it.

Pretty sure it's a fantastic deal 2 years of GCU for $30.... Plus having the email and the one mailed to me could be MASSIVE if I can redeem them at different times to get them to stack until 2018

The discount applies towards any new purchase, sales or regular MSRP. So sure, wait until it's $30 or less, but you'll get it for even cheaper then too.

I encourage people to get in on this, it easily already paid for itself with the discounts I got through the extended membership.

Even if you ONLY used this for the 20% off it pays for itself quickly. I myself won't wait 2+ months to hope Titanfall or Destiny hits a big sale.... Would gladly pay $48 on launch day.... But GCU members get deals on top of that all the time. Kudos to Best Buy for giving the early adopters a break on this. Ordered a ps4 and a kindle fire from best buy last week with STANDARD shipping and both showed up in 2 days.... Can't beat it.... Plus the reward certificates I'll get from those purchases. Best Buy gives you giftcards for being loyal....

That happened to me yesterday. Got a coupon in the mail and one emailed to me.

If you're buying a lot of games it will save you money anyways. Also why wait a month for a new release to drop to 45 when you can get it day one for 48 with GCU and trade it in for almost as much as you paid for it.

I re-uped with this coupon and they only added one year instead of two
9 calls later, somebody is meant to be fixing it
Check your date after re-up

Also, I bought games in the same transaction, already GCU, and it caused the 20% discount to be applied twice, giving 36% discount

I was hesitant on paying the $30 but I'm so glad I did. Best buys been good to me lately. Nice deal of the day crock pot, Xbox one day one edition online a week ago, $75 off iPhone 5S (plus $50 gift card) and half price case. Loving it like Mcdonalds!

If you honestly think $30 for two years of 20% off EVERY NEW GAME PURCHASE YOU MAKE that stacks with everything short of a PM isn't a smart investment...just delete your CAG account. Jesus fucking Christ, if you talked to your BB reps like this then you deserve every single shitty transaction that came afterwards. Good transactions are a two-way street, fucknuts.

FWIW, $30 for 2 years of 20% off new games and all the other benefits is a heck of a deal. BB will definitely get some business from me for a while. I already saved about $15 buying from them. That is half of my investment returned already. And since I have 2 years to make up that other $15, I think I am in a good spot.

Sounds like a few people are still clueless as to how good GCU is right now, but most of us get it. I've already saved a ton since the 20% started.
Meh, if you don't like it, don't get it. The rest of us will enjoy saving money.

Ha Ha Ha, well put Slugger.

I think I'll throw in a Mugsy impression. Yes, Best Buy's the devil, see...they rape you and laugh about it, see...I once left there with a broken TV and a bloody anus, see...people say I have a tendency to overreact, see...

I was a member of the gamers club about a year ago but I let it expire. Unfortunately, I didn't get a coupon for 30 bucks off. I've been thinking about paying the full 120 since I buy a lot of games from Best Buy but I wanted to know if you guys know of any way to make it cheaper.

Yeah we know because it never happened to you it never happened. Also I do believe Best Buy won't be around another two years.

It's the same $15 per year(even if it is $30 at once), for some of us. Plus, we get that 20% off new games, woop!

Didn't think of that. Let me know if that stacks!

40%? Otherwise, that's an odd discount.

any sale they have on games you get the 20% extra off, i got the but one get one 50% off on the nintendo sale plus the 20% off.  this is what it looks like:

39.99 + 19.99 = 59.99 w/o GCU

31.99 (GCU)+ 15.99(GCU) = 47.98  with my GCU i was able to get 20% on both titles.

Now you see the benefits, it pays itself off if you pay $30 or the $120.

BTW here is the official thread which was start a almost 2 months ago:

finally got my $30 renewal coupon physically in the mail, best buy will be my go to for games for the next 2 years without a doubt.

If only they also sent the $30 coupon out to people whose membership lapsed within a year to try and get them back.

I wonder if they'll drop the full price at some point when they notice how many people are joining for $30 and how few are joining for $120.

Definitely watching the mail closer now. Hopefully I get another coupon and it stacks to the one I just do from the email I got.

The posters all saying how great it is, its only great if you get it for 30 for 2 years. The 120 is a freaking joke and way overpriced. I can easily see me making at least 30 in savings over 2 years, but trying to break even on 120 and then save more on top of that, not likely.

30 is good deal, 120 is a joke.

Also tightclaw you're a clown, you should learn to look at a company financials before you go spouting off how they will be out of business in 2 years.

Plenty of cash and they are currently profitable.

I didn't know I got a free GCU membership until just recently. Thought it was going to be worthless at first but with the Deals of the Day and just regular sales at Best Buy it has changed my mind. Next year Black Friday at Best Buy is going to be epic.

No the greatest trick is that fiction authors has been able to make billions of people believe in fairy dust.

Actually $120 isn't terrible because even if I paid that much (got it free) I would be saving $50 alone on the titan fall collectors edition. Not to mention already saving $80+ this month on top of sale prices.

I agree, plus you get a 10% bonus on trade ins. You could easily make back the $60 in a year.

So you clicked on this thread to be a self righteous condescending prick and troll fellow CAG. You sir are a wonderful person and I'm sure a joy to be around.

I applaud your Usual Suspects line but the quote is painfully off a little bit lol. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

I know I'm retarded....it bothered me.

Yeah...because $15 a year to save $12 per new game is just a horrible, horrible scam.

And those coupons? *shudder* man..I don't see how they're still in business.

They lost my Luigi U preorder and made me stand there with my two impatient kids for a half hour. BUT, because I wasn't a spoiled piece of shit and was patient with them, my kids got a free bag of candy and I got the game from a nearby store for 66% off.

Or the time that a simple trade in took 30-40 minutes because the rep didn't know how to do it. BUT, because I don't treat people like a fucking barcode scanner, we smalltalked through the process and he turned out to be a pretty cool guy.

Or the time when the @gamer coupons hadn't switched yet and it wasn't taking off the proper discount. BUT, because I was understanding and didn't make someone's day worse by pouting like a fucking toddler, a manager fixed the situation and I got my game.

Or the time when Tank!Tank!Tank! became free after I had purchased it a few days before. They couldn't give me a straight up price adjustment because I had used a cert on it. BUT, because I didn't rail against a fellow human being for policies far beyond their control, I got $20 off of another item instead.

Or the time I was caught in an endless phone transfer cycle when I had problems reupping my GCU. I kept getting shuffled off to random clueless reps for over an hour. BUT, because I didn't start frothing at the mouth when something didn't go my way, I finally got a nice rep who compensated me with a cert for my troubles.

Best Buy transactions don't and won't always go smoothly, but if you handle yourself in a friendly manner and wait patiently they will ALWAYS take care of you. They aren't the problem; your shitty attitude is. You are not fucking royalty. The world doesn't revolve solely around your rancid shit spigot. Deal with setbacks like an adult and quitcher bitchin'.

And in case it helps.. the 20% off works on stuff like Skylanders/Infinity characters.  30 bucks for 2 years.  I bought Ryse/Forza through them.  That's $24 saved, then I bought Wreck-It Ralph ($3) and Frozen ($6) I've already made a buck on the deal.  I gotta be honest, I like my BB and when they mess up, as long as you're nice they tend to be cool about it.  They got my new purchases for a while and ESPECIALLY so since I'm a CE nut.
